A series of dynamic and static tests were conducted to observe the actual responses of a 1:5 scale 3-story reinforced concrete(RC) frame which was designed only for gravity loads. One of the major objectives of these experiments is to provide the calibration to the available static and dynamic inelastic analysis techniques. In this study, the experimental results were simulated by using a nonlinear analysis program for reinforced concrete frame, IDARC-2D. The evaluation of the degree of the simulation leads to the conclusion that while the global behaviors such as story drifts and shears can be in general simulated with the limited accuracy in the dynamic nonlinear analysis, it is rather easy and simple to get the fairly high level of accuracy in the prediction of global and local behaviors in the static nonlinear analysis by using IDARC-2D.

Backgrounds and objective : EEG reflect dynamic changes of continuous neuronal activities by internal and external stimuli. The aim of this study is to quantify nonlinearly the local dynamic differences among EEG data corresponding to different states of brain. Methods : EEG was recorded from twelve healthy normal subjects(mean age, 29.7 years; 8 men and 4 women) using digital EEG machine. 18-channel EEG data were selected during eyes closed(EC), eyes open(EO), and mental arithmetic(MA) in each subject. Correlation dimension(D2) and largest Lyapunov exponent(LLE) were calculated from three states and average value was mapped 2 dimensionally and compared with each other. Results : The distribution of D2 was relatively symmetric and its value was higher in frontal than in parieto-occipital region during EC. These findings were reversed during EO. Bilateral centro-temporo-parietal region showed high D2 value in MA compared with those in EC, which was more prominent in left side. LLE was larger than zero in all state and showed significant differences among EC, EO and MA(p=0.000). Conclusion : These results suggest that nonlinear analysis of EEG can quantify dynamic state of brain.
This paper proposes a Global-Local Analysis Method (GLAM) to assess the progressive collapse of steel framed structures under fire-induced column failure. GLAM obtains the overall structural response by combining dynamic analysis of the heated column (local) with static analysis of the overall structure (global). Test results of two steel frames which explicitly consider the dynamic effect during fire-induced column failure were employed to validate the proposed GLAM. Results show that GLAM gives reasonable predictions to the test frames in terms of both whether to collapse and the displacement verse temperature curves. Besides, several case studies of a two-dimensional (2D) steel frame and a three-dimensional (3D) steel frame with concrete slabs were conducted by using GLAM. Results show that GLAM gives the same collapse predictions to the studied cases with nonlinear dynamic analysis of the whole structure model. Compared with nonlinear dynamic analysis of the whole structure model, GLAM saves approximately 70% and 99% CPU time for the cases of 2D and 3D steel frame, respectively. Results also show that the load level of a structure has notable effects on the restraint condition of a heated column in the structure.

This study is the compared seismic performance that are difference between the performance of structures on various site classes and beam-column connection. this analysis model was designed the previous earthquake load. To compare the performance levels of the structure was subjected to nonlinear static and nonlinear dynamic analysis. Nonlinear analysis was used to The Perform 3D program. Nonlinear static analysis was compared with the performance point and Nonlinear dynamic analysis was compared the drift ratio(%). Analysis results, the soft site class of the displacement was more increase than rock site classes of the displacement. Also The smaller the displacement was increased beam-column connection stiffness.

This paper presents a novel hybrid time-frequency-domain method for nonlinear soil-structure interaction(SSI) analysis. It employs, in a practical manner, a computer code for equivalent linear SSI analysis and a general-purpose nonlinear finite element program. The proposed method first (calculates dynamic responses on a truncated finite element boundary utilizing an equivalent linear SSI program in the frequency domain. Then, a general purpose nonlinear finite element program is employed to analyze the nonlinear SSI problem in the time domain, in which boundary conditions at the truncated boundary are imposed with the responses calculated in the previous frequency domain SSI analysis, In order to validate the proposed method, seismic response analyses are carried out for a 2-D underground subway station in a multi-layered half-space, For the analyses, a equivalent linear SSI code KIESSI-2D is coupled to ANSYS program. The numerical results indicate that the proposed methodology can be a viable solution for nonlinear SSI problems.

Main objective of the present study is to determine the statistical properties and suitable probability distribution functions of spectral displacements from nonlinear static and nonlinear dynamic analysis within the frame work of Monte Carlo simulation for typical low rise and high rise RC framed buildings located in zone III and zone V and designed as per Indian seismic codes. Probabilistic analysis of spectral displacement is useful for strength assessment and loss estimation. To the author's knowledge, no study is reported in literature on comparison of spectral displacement including the uncertainties in capacity and demand in Indian context. In the present study, uncertainties in capacity of the building is modeled by choosing cross sectional dimensions of beams and columns, density and compressive strength of concrete, yield strength and elastic modulus of steel and, live load as random variables. Uncertainty in demand is modeled by choosing peak ground acceleration (PGA) as a random variable. Nonlinear static analysis (NSA) and nonlinear dynamic analysis (NDA) are carried out for typical low rise and high rise reinforced concrete framed buildings using IDARC 2D computer program with the random sample input parameters. Statistical properties are obtained for spectral displacements corresponding to performance point from NSA and maximum absolute roof displacement from NDA and suitable probability distribution functions viz., normal, Weibull, lognormal are examined for goodness-of-fit. From the hypothesis test for goodness-of-fit, lognormal function is found to be suitable to represent the statistical variation of spectral displacement obtained from NSA and NDA.
The current study assessed the utility of acoustic analyses the most commonly used in routine clinical voice assessment including perturbation, nonlinear dynamic analysis, and Spectral/Cepstrum analysis based on signal typing of dysphonic voices and investigated their applicability of clinical acoustic analysis methods. A total of 70 dysphonic voice samples were classified with signal typing using narrowband spectrogram. Traditional parameters of %jitter, %shimmer, and signal-to-noise ratio were calculated for the signals using TF32 and correlation dimension(D2) of nonlinear dynamic parameter and spectral/cepstral measures including mean CPP, CPP_sd, CPPf0, CPPf0_sd, L/H ratio, and L/H ratio_sd were also calculated with ADSV(Analysis of Dysphonia in Speech and VoiceTM). Auditory perceptual analysis was performed by two blinded speech-language pathologists with GRBAS. The results showed that nearly periodic Type 1 signals were all functional dysphonia and Type 4 signals were comprised of neurogenic and organic voice disorders. Only Type 1 voice signals were reliable for perturbation analysis in this study. Significant signal typing-related differences were found in all acoustic and auditory-perceptual measures. SNR, CPP, L/H ratio values for Type 4 were significantly lower than those of other voice signals and significant higher %jitter, %shimmer were observed in Type 4 voice signals(p<.001). Additionally, with increase of signal type, D2 values significantly increased and more complex and nonlinear patterns were represented. Nevertheless, voice signals with highly noise component associated with breathiness were not able to obtain D2. In particular, CPP, was highly sensitive with voice quality 'G', 'R', 'B' than any other acoustic measures. Thus, Spectral and cepstral analyses may be applied for more severe dysphonic voices such as Type 4 signals and CPP can be more accurate and predictive acoustic marker in measuring voice quality and severity in dysphonia.
The basic idea of cable-stayed girder bridges is the utilization of high strength cables to provide intermediate supports for the bridge girder so that the girder can span a much longer distance. In the cable-stayed bridge, the cables exhibit nonlinear behavior because of the change in sag, due to the dead weight of the cable, which occurs with changing tension in the cable resulting from the movement of the end points of the cable as the bridge is loaded. Techniques required for the static analysis of cable-stayed bridges has been developed by many researchers. However, little work has been done on the dynamic analysis of such structures. To investigate the characteristics of the dynamic response of long-span cable-stayed bridges due to various dynamic loadings likes moving traffic loads. two different 3-D cable-stayed bridge models are considered in this study. Two models are exactly the same in structural configurations but different in finite element discretization. Modal analysis is conducted using the deformed dead-load tangent stiffness matrix. A new concept was presented by using divided a cable into several elements in order to study the effect of the cable vibration (both in-plane and swinging) on the overall bridge dynamics. The result of this study demonstrates the importance of cable vibration on the overall bridge dynamics.
This paper proposed a new 2D multibody dynamic modeling technique to analyze overriding behavior taking place during train collision. This dynamic model is composed of nonlinear spring, damper and mass by considering the deformable characteristics of carbodies as well as energy absorbing structures and components. By solving this dynamic model of rollingstock, collision energy absorption capacity, acceleration of passenger sections, impact forces applied to interconnecting devices, and overriding displacements can be well estimated. For a case study, we choose KHST (Korean High Speed Train), obtained crush characteristic data of each carbody section from 3D finite element analysis, and established a 2D multibody dynamic model. This 2D dynamic model was suggested to describe the collision behavior of 3D Virtual Testing Model.
