선박 추진용 2행정 저속엔진의 고장모드 데이터 개발 및 LSTM 알고리즘을 활용한 특성인자 신뢰성 검증연구 (The Study of Failure Mode Data Development and Feature Parameter's Reliability Verification Using LSTM Algorithm for 2-Stroke Low Speed Engine for Ship's Propulsion)

  • In the 4th industrial revolution, changes in the technological paradigm have had a direct impact on the maintenance system of ships. The 2-stroke low speed engine system integrates with the core equipment required for propulsive power. The Condition Based Management (CBM) is defined as a technology that predictive maintenance methods in existing calender-based or running time based maintenance systems by monitoring the condition of machinery and diagnosis/prognosis failures. In this study, we have established a framework for CBM technology development on our own, and are engaged in engineering-based failure analysis, data development and management, data feature analysis and pre-processing, and verified the reliability of failure mode DB using LSTM algorithms. We developed various simulated failure mode scenarios for 2-stroke low speed engine and researched to produce data on onshore basis test_beds. The analysis and pre-processing of normal and abnormal status data acquired through failure mode simulation experiment used various Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) techniques to feature extract not only data on the performance and efficiency of 2-stroke low speed engine but also key feature data using multivariate statistical analysis. In addition, by developing an LSTM classification algorithm, we tried to verify the reliability of various failure mode data with time-series characteristics.

  • The role of $NH_3$ for vertical alignment of CNTs was investigated. The direct cause of the alignment was a dense distribution of catalytic metal particles, but which was kept catalytically active during the growth process by $NH_3$. This allows a dense nucleation of the CNTs, and consequently, assists vertical alignment through entanglement and mechanical leaning among the tubes. The CNTs grow in a base growth mode. Several evidences were presented including a direct cross-sectional TEM observation. Since Ni is consumed both by silicide reaction and by capture in the growing tube, the growth stops when Ni is completely depleted. This occurs faster for smaller particles, and thus a longer growth results in thin bottom with poor adhesion.

TETRA TRS에서 DMO 단말기의 전파도달범위 예측 (Radio Coverage Prediction of DMO Terminal in TETRA TRS)

  • TETRA(TErrestrial Trunked RAdio)는 디지털 TRS(Trunked Radio System)의 유럽 표준으로 재난통신에 특화된 서비스를 제공한다. 특히 TETRA에서 제공하는 DMO(Direct Mode Operation) 기능은 기지국 중계 없이 단말기간 직접통신이 가능하여 기지국 전파가 도달되지 않는 음영지역에 효과적으로 활용된다. 하지만 사용자들이 DMO기능을 보다 효과적으로 활용하기 위해서는 전파도달범위 예측 정보가 제공되어야 한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 국내에 보급되어 운용 중인 TETRA DMO 단말기의 링크버짓을 계산하고 이를 경로손실 모델에 적용시켜 지역 환경별 전파도달 거리를 예측하였다.

고속전자밸브를 사용한 전기유압서보시스템의 위치제어에 관한 연구 (A Study on Position Control of an Electro-Hydraulic Servo System Using High Speed On-Off Valves)

  • This paper presents position control of an electro-hydraulic servo system whoch is operated by four 2-2way high speed on-off valves with either PWM PID control method or sliding mode control method, The advantages of using high speed on-off valves instead of electo-hydraulic servo valves or electro-hydraulic proportional valves are low price robustness for oil contamination and direct control without a D/A converter. The system consists of load cylinder inertia car potentiometer and external load cylinder. The experiments were carried out under several conditions and the results were compared. As a result the sliding mode method has shown good control performance and the robust and stable positioning of the elector-hydraulic servo system can be achieved accurately.

  • TETRA(TErrestrial Trunked RAdio)는 항상 기지국을 통해서 통신을 하는 TMO(Trunked Mode Operation)가 기지국 없이 단말기간 직접 통신을 하는 DMO(Direct Mode Operation) 보다 주파수 채널의 할당에 있어 우선순위를 가지고 있다. 이 때문에 단말간 통신인 DMO를 안정적으로 운용하기 위해서는 단말이 TMO로 할당된 주파수 채널을 회피할 수 있는 알고리즘이 필요하나 현재의 TETRA DMO 표준에는 이에 관한 사항이 반영되어 있지 않다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이웃 노드(기지국 혹은 단말)로부터 TMO 주파수 채널 현황 및 DMO 주파수 이용률에 관한 추가 정보를 제공받아 단말 스스로 최적의 DMO 주파수 채널을 선택할 수 있는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 성능평가를 통하여 제안 알고리즘이 기존의 DMO 주파수 채널 할당 방식에 비해 평균 전송효율이 우수함을 증명하였다.

Direct Lagrangian-based FSI formulation for seismic analysis of reinforced concrete circular liquid-containing tanks

  • In this study, a direct Lagrangian-based three-dimensional computational procedure is developed to evaluate the seismic performance of reinforced concrete liquid-containing circular tanks (RC-LCT). In this approach, fluid-structure interaction (FSI), material nonlinearity, and liquid-structure large deformations are formulated realistically. Liquid is modeled using Mie-Grüneisen equation of state (EOS) in compressible form considering the convective and impulsive motions of fluid. The developed numerical framework is validated based on a previous study. Further, nonlinear analyses are carried out to assess the seismic performance of RC-LCT with various diameter-to-liquid height ratios ranging from 2.5 to 4.0. Based on observations, semi-deep tanks (i.e., D/Hl=2.5) show low collapse ductility due to their shear failure mode while shallow tanks (i.e., D/Hl=4.0) behave in a more ductile manner due to their dominant wall membrane action. Furthermore, the semi-deep tanks provide the least over-strength and ductility due to their catastrophic failure with little energy dissipation. This study shows that LCTs can be categorized as between immediately operational and life safety levels and therefore a drift limiting criterion is necessary to prevent probable damages during earthquakes.

  • IEEE 802.11n 기반 무선 LAN과 IEEE 802.16e 기반 Mobile WiMAX에 적용할 수 있는 이중모드 직접 변환 수신기를 $0.13\;{\mu}m$ RF CMOS 공정을 이용하여 설계하였다. 설계된 직접 변환 수신기는 2.3-2.7 GHz의 주파수 범위에서 동작을 한다. 저잡음 증폭기에 Current Steering 기술을 사용하여 전체 이득의 크기를 3 단계로 조절이 가능하게 하였다. 플리커 잡음 영향을 낮추기 위해 믹서에 Current Bleeding 기술을 사용하였다. 믹서 LO를 위한 I/Q 위상 신호 발생을 위해 주파수 2-분주회로를 포함하였다. 제작된 직접 변환 수신기는 1.4V의 공급 전원에서 LO 버퍼를 포함하여 56 mA를 사용하며, 32 dB의 전력이득과 4.8dB의 잡음지수, 그리고 +6 dBm의 출력 $P_{1dB}$를 가진다.

Monitoring of wind turbine blades for flutter instability

  • Classical flutter of wind turbine blades indicates a type of aeroelastic instability with fully attached boundary layer where a torsional blade mode couples to a flapwise bending mode, resulting in a mutual rapid growth of the amplitudes. In this paper the monitoring problem of onset of flutter is investigated from a detection point of view. The criterion is stated in terms of the exceeding of a defined envelope process of a specific maximum torsional vibration threshold. At a certain instant of time, a limited part of the previously measured torsional vibration signal at the tip of blade is decomposed through the Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) method, and the 1st Intrinsic Mode Function (IMF) is assumed to represent the response in the flutter mode. Next, an envelope time series of the indicated modal response is obtained in terms of a Hilbert transform. Finally, a flutter onset criterion is proposed, based on the indicated envelope process. The proposed online flutter monitoring method provided a practical and direct way to detect onset of flutter during operation. The algorithm has been illustrated by a 907-DOFs aeroelastic model for wind turbines, where the tower and the drive train is modelled by 7 DOFs, and each blade by means of 50 3-D Bernoulli-Euler beam elements.

A study on the Nonlinear Normal Mode Vibration Using Adelphic Integral

  • Nonlinear normal mode (NNM) vibration, in a nonlinear dual mass Hamiltonian system, which has 6$\^$th/ order homogeneous polynomial as a nonlinear term, is studied in this paper. The existence, bifurcation, and the orbital stability of periodic motions are to be studied in the phase space. In order to find the analytic expression of the invariant curves in the Poincare Map, which is a mapping of a phase trajectory onto 2 dimensional surface in 4 dimensional phase space, Whittaker's Adelphic Integral, instead of the direct integration of the equations of motion or the Birkhoff-Gustavson (B-G) canonical transformation, is derived for small value of energy. It is revealed that the integral of motion by Adelphic Integral is essentially consistent with the one obtained from the B-G transformation method. The resulting expression of the invariant curves can be used for analyzing the behavior of NNM vibration in the Poincare Map.

Customized 3D Printed Bolus for Breast Reconstruction for Modified Radical Mastectomy (MRM)

  • We aim to develop the breast bolus by using a 3D printer to minimize the air-gap, and compare it to commercial bolus used for patients undergoing reconstruction in breast cancer. The bolus-shaped region of interests (ROIs) were contoured at the surface of the intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) thorax phantom with 5 mm thickness, after which the digital imaging and communications in mdicine (DICOM)-RT structure file was acquired. The intensity-modulated radiation therapy (Tomo-IMRT) and direct mode (Tomo-Direct) using the Tomotherapy were established. The 13 point doses were measured by optically stimulated luminescence (OSLD) dosimetry. The measurement data was analyzed to quantitatively evaluate the applicability of 3D bolus. The percentage change of mean measured dose between the commercial bolus and 3D-bolus was 2.3% and 0.7% for the Tomo-direct and Tomo-IMRT, respectively. For air-gap, range of the commercial bolus was from 0.8 cm to 1.5 cm at the periphery of the right breast. In contrast, the 3D-bolus have occurred the air-gap (i.e., 0 cm). The 3D-bolus for radiation therapy reduces the air-gap on irregular body surface that believed to help in accurate and precise radiation therapy due to better property of adhesion.
