The purpose of the present study was to examine the effect of dihydrexidine, a full $D_1$ receptor agonist, on the secretion of catecholamines (CA) from the perfused model of the rat adrenal gland, and to establish its mechanism of action. Dihydrexidine (10-100 ${\mu}M$), perfused into an adrenal vein for 60 min, relatively produced dose- and time-dependent inhibition in the CA secretory responses evoked by ACh (5.32 mM), high $K^+$ (56 mM), DMPP (100 ${\mu}M$) and McN-A-343 (100 ${\mu}M$). Dihydrexidine itself did fail to affect basal CA output. Also, in adrenal glands loaded with dihydrexidine (30 ${\mu}M$), the CA secretory responses evoked by Bay-K-8644 (10 ${\mu}M$), an activator of L-type $Ca^{2+}$ channels, cyclopiazonic acid (10 ${\mu}M$), an inhibitor of cytoplasmic $Ca^{2+}$-ATPase, and veratridine, an activator of voltage-dependent $Na+$ channels (10 ${\mu}M$), were also markedly inhibited, respectively. However, in the simultaneous presence of dihydrexidine (30 ${\mu}M$) and R (+)-SCH23390 (a selective antagonist of $D_1$ receptor, 3 ${\mu}M$), the CA secretory responses evoked by ACh, high K+, DMPP, McN-A-343, Bay-K-8644, cyclopiazonic acid and veratridine were considerably recovered to the extent of the corresponding control secretion compared with the inhibitory responses by dihydrexidinetreatment alone. In conclusion, these experimental results suggest that dihydrexidine significantly inhibits the CA secretion evoked by cholinergic stimulation (both nicotinic and muscarinic receptors) and membrane depolarization from the rat adrenal medulla. It seems that this inhibitory effect of dihydrexidine may be mediated by inhibiting influx of both $Ca^{2+}$ and $Na^+$ into the cytoplasm as well as by suppression of $Ca^{2+}$ release from cytoplasmic calcium store through activation of dopaminergic $D_1$ receptors located on the rat adrenomedullary chromaffin cells.

Cyclic delay diversity (CDD) is considered as a simple approach to exploit the frequency diversity in OFDM system. In this paper, we apply CDD to the conventional STBC/SFBC/STFBC-OFDM transmit diversity schemes for Rayleigh fading channels. We compare the performances of STBC/SFBC/STFBC with and without CDD schemes. Simulation results show that the combination of block coding with CDD works well when using the ITU-R M. 1225 channel for both Pedestrian A (Ped A) channel with the mobility of 3 km/h, and Vehicular A (Veh A) channel with the mobility of 120km/h. For a BER of $10^{-3}$, compared to the conventional block coding schemes, a gain of 2dB, 4dB, and 5dB is obtained under the Ped A channel environment by STBC-OFDM, SFBC-OFDM and STFBC-OFDM with CDD, respectively Under the Veh A channel. gains by the combined schemes are 6dB, 2dB, and 4dB, respectivcly.

In this paper, it is described about the tri-band mobile antenna system design to provide broadband multimedia and direct broadcasting services using goo-stationary Koreasat 3, simultaneously operated in Ka/K/Ku band. The radiating part of the antenna system with a fan beam characteristic in the elevation plane is composed of the quasi-offset dual shaped reflector and the tri-band feeder. The tri-band feeder is also composed of the Ka/K dual band feeder with the protruding dielectric rod, the circular polarizer, the ortho-mode transducer and the circular-polarized Ku band feed array. Especially, the Ka/K dual band circular polarizer was realized firstly using the comb-type structure. For fast satellite-tracking on the movement, the Ku band feed array has the structure of the $2{\times}2$ active phased array which can make electrical beams. And, the circular-polarized characteristic in the feed array was improved by $90^{\circ}$ rotating arrangement of four radiating elements polarized circularly by a $90^{\circ}$ hybrid coupler, respectively. Four beam forming channels to make electrical beams at Ku band are divided into the main beam channel and the tracking beam channel in the output, and noise temperature characteristics of each channel were analyzed on the basis of the contributions of internal sub_units. From the fabricated antenna system, the output power at $P_{1dBc}$ of Ka_Tx channel was measured more than 34.1 dBm and the measured noise figures of K/Ku_Rx channels were less than 2.4 dB and 1.5 dB, respectively, over the operating band. The radiation patterns with co- and cross-polarization in the tri-band were measured using a near-field measurement in the anechoic chamber. Especially, Ku radiation patterns were measured after correcting each initial phase of active channels with partial radiation patterns obtained from the independent excitation of each channel. The antenna gains measured in Ka/K/Ku band of the antenna system were more than 39.6 dBi, 37.5 dBi, 29.6 dBi, respectively. And, the antenna system showed good system performances such as Ka_Tx EIRP more than 43.7 dBW and K/Ku_Rx G/T more than 13.2 dB/K and 7.12 dB/K, respectively.
We establish the existence of weak solutions in an infinite subsonic channel in the self-similar plane to the two-dimensional Burgers system. We consider a boundary value problem in a fixed domain such that a part of the domain is degenerate, and the system becomes a second order elliptic equation in the channel. The problem is motivated by the study of the weak shock reflection problem and 2-D Riemann problems. The two-dimensional Burgers system is obtained through an asymptotic reduction of the 2-D full Euler equations to study weak shock reflection by a ramp.

Recently, deployments of firewalls and NATs ire increasing to provide network security features or to solve the problem of public IP shortage. But, in these environments, peers in different firewall or NAT environments may get limited services because they cannot open direct communicate channels. This can be a significant problem in pure P2P environments where the peers should get or provide services by opening direct channels among themselves. In this paper, we propose a scheme for dynamically selecting a peer that fan be used as a proxy server. The proxy server supports the communication between the peers in different firewall or NAT environments. The proposed scheme is operating system independent and supports bidirectional communication among the peers in P2P environments. Additionally, the proposed scheme can distribute network traffic by dynamically allocating proxy servers to the peers that is not located in the firewall or NAT environments.
Conventional 3D ultrasound imaging using mechanical ID arrays suffers from poor elevation resolution due to the limited depth-of-focus (DOF). On the other hand, 3D imaging systems using 2D phased arrays have a large number of active channels and hence require a very expensive and bulky beamforming hardware. To overcome these limitations, a new real-time volumetric imaging method using curved 2-D arrays is presented, in which a small subaperture, consisting of 256 elements, moves across the array surface to scan a volume of interest. For this purpose, a 2-D curved array is designed which consists of 90$\times$46 elements with 1.5λ inter-element spacing and has the same view angles along both the lateral and elevation directions as those of a commercial mechanical 1-D array. In the proposed method, transmit and receive subapertures are constructed by cutting the four corners of a rectangular aperture to obtain a required image qualify with a small number of active channels. In addition the receive subaperture size is increased by using a sparse array scheme that uses every other elements in both directions. To suppress the grating lobes elevated due to the increase in clement spacing, fold-over array scheme is adopted in transmit, which doubles the effective size of a transmit aperture in each direction. Computer simulation results show that the proposed method can provide almost the same and greatly improved resolutions in the lateral and elevation directions, respectively compared with the conventional 3D imaging with a mechanical 1-D array.

In this paper, we review a trellis-coded orthogonal frequency division multiplex (TC-OFDM) system, which combines OFDM with trellis-coded modulation, for overcoming the frequency selective and multipath fading of time dispersive channels. We simulate and analyse the BER performance of rate 2/3 trellis coded 8DPSK-OFDM over time dispersive channels. Design of the trellis codes at different carrier numbers of OFDM is discussed. Results show that TC-OFDM system can provide 6 dB coding gain at a BER of 10$^{-3}$ compared with OFDM system without coding.
We experimentally investigated the transmission characteristics of 400 Gbit/s (10 Gbit/s ${\times}$ 40 channels) WDM signals with 100 GHz channel spacing over 323 km of installed NZ_DSF. The installed fiber has optical properties of 0.28 dB/km attenuation, 4.3 ps/nm/km dispersion, $0.083ps/nm^2/km$ dispersion slope and less than $0.05ps/km^{1/2}$ PMD coefficient. In this experiment, two cases of dispersion compensation schemes, the lumped type and the distributed type, were compared. The results implied that the distributed type dispersion compensation in which dispersion compensation devices are inserted at the end of the each span showed better transmission performance than the lumped one in which dispersion compensation devices are located at the transmitter and receiver sites. From the analysis of the experimental results, we verified that different transmission performance comes from the power penalty induced by XPM in the distributed scheme is lower than the lumped scheme case.

In-wheel driving inverter inside engine room sometimes operates in the harsh environment like high temperature of about $105^{\circ}C$. Especially, the size and power density of the inverter has become smaller and more increased. Thus, it is essential to manage the temperature of the inverter with IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) switching devices for performance and endurance, because the temperature can be getting increase. In this paper, we performed the thermal flow analysis of inverter models with wave type and pin fin type cooling channels, and investigated the heat transfer characteristics of the inverter models using cooling water on channels at 8 L/min and $65^{\circ}C$. Also, we compared the thermal performance under various conditions such as coolant flow rate and layered power module structure. Therefore, we determined the feasibility of the initial inverter models and the thermal performance enhancement.
In remote villages without access to modern IT technology, simple devices such as smartcards can be used to carry out business transactions. These devices typically store multiple business applications from multiple vendors. Although devices must prevent malicious or accidental security breaches among the applications, a secure communication channel between two applications from different vendors is often required. In this paper, first, we propose a method of establishing secure communication channels between applications in embedded operating systems that run on multi-applet smart cards. Second, we enforce the high assurance using an intransitive noninterference security policy. Thirdly, we formalize the method through the Z language and create the formal specification of the proposed secure system. Finally, we verify its correctness using Rushby's unwinding theorem.
