Generally, traditional approaches to track the target position are to estimate ranges and bearings by 2-D MUSIC (MUltiple 519na1 Classification) method. and to associate estimates of 2-D MUSIC made at different time points with the right targets by JPDA (Joint Probabilistic Data Association) filter in the near field. However, the disadvantages of these approaches are that these have the data association Problem in tracking multiple targets. and that these require the heavy computational load in estimating a 2-D range/bearing spectrum. In case multiple targets are adjacent. the tracking performance degrades seriously because the estimate of each target's Position has a large error. In this paper, we proposed a new tracking algorithm using Position innovations extracted from the senor output covariance matrix in the near field. The proposed algorithm is demonstrated by the computer simulations dealing with the tracking of multiple closing and crossing targets.
In this paper, we propose an algorithm to improve DoA(direction of arrival) estimation performance of the subspace-based method by generating high robustness correlation matrix of the signals incident on the uniformly linear array antenna. The existing subspace-based DoA estimation method estimates the DoA by obtaining a correlation matrix and dividing it into a signal subspace and a noise subspace. However, the component of the correlation matrix obtained from the low SNR and small number of snapshots inaccurately estimates the signal subspace due to the noise component of the antenna, thereby degrading the DoA estimation performance. Therefore a robust correlation matrix is generated by arranging virtual signal vectors obtained from the existing correlation matrix in a sliding manner. As a result of simulation using MUSIC and ESPRIT, which are representative subspace-based methods,, the computational complexity increased by less than 2.5% compared to the existing correlation matrix, but both MUSIC and ESPRIT based on RMSE 1° showed superior DoA estimation performance with an SNR of 3dB or more.
In the present study, we proposed a new subspace scanning algorithm to enhance the spatial resolution of electroencephalography (EEG) and magnetoencephalography(MEG) source localization. Subspace scanning algorithms, represented by the multiple signal classification (MUSIC) algorithm and the first principal vector (FINE) algorithm, have been widely used to localize asynchronous multiple dipolar sources in human cerebral cortex. The conventional MUSIC algorithm used principal component analysis (PCA) to extract the noise vector subspace, thereby having difficulty in discriminating two or more closely-spaced cortical sources. The FINE algorithm addressed the problem by using only a part of the noise vector subspace, but there was no golden rule to determine the number of noise vectors. In the present work, we estimated a non-orthogonal signal vector set using independent component analysis (ICA) instead of using PCA and performed the source scanning process in the signal vector subspace, not in the noise vector subspace. Realistic 2D and 3D computer simulations, which compared the spatial resolutions of various algorithms under different noise levels, showed that the proposed ICA-MUSIC algorithm has the highest spatial resolution, suggesting that it can be a useful tool for practical EEG/MEG source localization.
The cover song refers to live recordings or reproduced albums. This paper studies two-dimensional Fourier transform as a feature-dimension reduction method to search cover song fast. The two-dimensional Fourier transform is conducive in feature-dimension reduction for cover song search due to musical-key invariance. This paper extends the previous work, which only utilize the magnitude of the Fourier transform, by introducing an invariant from phase based on the assumption that adjacent frames have the same musical-key change. We compare the cover song retrieval accuracy of the Fourier-transform based methods over two datasets. The experimental results show that the addition of the invariant from phase improves the cover song retrieval accuracy over the previous magnitude-only method.
Purpose: This research with one group pre-post design was carried out to test the practical feasibility to administrate the Music Movement program developed for the stroke patients. Subjects: 12 stroke survivors at "J" Public Health Center in Seoul. were participated in. The average age was 68 years old, the ratio of sex was almost 5.8:4.2, the duration of was almost over 1 year. Method: Music Movement program was conducted for 2 hours ${\times}$ 1day ${\times}$ 6 weeks. The contents of Music Movement program were consisted of the preparatory activities, main activities and the wrap up activities. The preparatory activities are ice braking, greeting, explanation of the aims of music movement program, and introduction of stroke disease and ROM exercise. The main activities are the body motions with singing and playing musical instruments. The wrap up activities are stretching and joints and discussion of home activities. Data Collection: The outcome variables are muscle strength, finger pinch power, ROMs, flexibility, depression, and life satisfaction. Depression was measured by CES-D(Kim, I. J., 1999), life satisfaction by ladder scale(McDowell & Newell, 1996), and ADL state(Holbrook & Skilbeck, 1983). Data Analysis: SPSS/PC 10.0 for Window was used. Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test was used to analyze outcome measures. The level of statistical significance was set at p<.05. Results: This program was effective to decrease the depression level of subjects(p<.05). The muscle strength, hand grip power, ROMs, life satisfaction, and rehabilitation state of the subjects were slightly increased but no significant differences were found between the pre and post test. Additionally every patient replied that they were very satisfied and expressed their appreciation for this program very much. Of course they strongly want to continue to participate in and meet the peer group again. Conclusion: Considering these results, the practical feasibility of Music Movement program can be supported. Therefore, this Music Movement program can be examined with the quasi-experimental design with control group and ongoing reviews. After that, this program would be applied in public health centers, medical institutes, and welfare centers for the rehabilitation of stroke patients.
As mobile devices become multi-functional, and converge into a single platform, there is a strong need for a codec that is able to provide consistent quality for speech and music content MPEG-D USAC standardization activities started at the 82nd MPEG meeting with a CfP and approved WD3 at the 88th MPEG meeting. MPEG-D USAC is converged technology of AMR-WB+ and HE-AAC V2. Specifically, USAC utilizes three core codecs (AAC ACELP and TCX) for low frequency regions, SBR for high frequency regions and the MPEG Surround tool for stereo information. USAC can provide consistent sound quality for both speech and music content and can be applied to various applications such as multi-media download to mobile device Digital radio Mobile TV and audio books.

It has well known that MUSIC and ESPRIT algorithms estimate angle of arrival(AOA) with high resolution by eigenvalue decomposition of the covariance matrix which were obtained from the array antennas. In the case that 2-D large-sized array antenna is required, however, one of the disadvantages of MUSIC and ESPRIT is that they are computationally ineffective, and then they are difficult to implement in real time. To alleviate the computational complexity, several method using neural model have been study. For multiple signals, those methods require huge training data prior to AOA estimation. This paper proposes the algorithm for AOA estimation by interconnected hopfield neural model. Computer simulations show the validity of the proposed algorithm.

This paper proposes a computationally efficient 2-D direction-of-arrival (DoA) estimation method with a uniform rectangular array (URA). This method is called the direct signal-based method in the sense that it is based directly on the phase relationships among the signals arriving at each antenna of an antenna array rather than their correlation matrix. According to the simulation results, it has be shown that the direct signal-based method, with much less computations than any existing methods, yields the performance comparable to that of the MUSIC (MUltiple SIgnal Classification) method in terms of the root-mean-squared error (RMSE) and the maximum absolute error.
Recently, noise from personal cassette players (PCP) poses growing concerns together with occupational noise-induced hearing loss. Eighteen male and female volunteer subjects participated to determine preferred noise levels for PCP usage before, during, and after 2-hour subway riding according to sources (types) of PCP listening (language/news, soft music, and hard music). Audiometric tests were conducted before and after the 2-hour exposure of PCP noise under subway riding. Statistical analyses showed some significant hearing losses with the greatest loss of more than 6 dB at 4000 Hz for both ears, indicating that serious noise-induced hearing loss would potentially occurred due to prolonged use of PCPs. Practical safety countermeasures against PCP noise are further discussed.
