  • 디지털방송의 애플리케이션(Xlet)은 시청자와 방송프로그램간의 상호작용에 중요한 역할을 담당한다. 현재 이러한 애플리케이션 UI는 평면이미지로 구성하는 것이 대부분이며 화면상 영역은 2차원으로 제한된다. 본 논문은 이러한 2차원의 평면적인 느낌을 극복하고 3차원이 가진 다양한 이점을 살리기 위한 3차원 UI구현방법을 제시한다. 이를 위해, 본 논문은 가상의 3D System, Virtual Timeline, Animation Model 등을 구성하였다. 3D System이란 UI가 3차원 좌표계를 가지기 위한 환경을 말하며, Timeline과 Animation Model은 제한적인 성능의STB에서 보다 진보된 애니메이션을 UI에 적용하기 위한 기법이다. 이들은 다양한 애플리케이션 제작, 서비스 개발 등에 응용이 가능하다. 디지털방송은 매우 빠른 속도로 발전하고 있으며 새로운 형태의 서비스가 속속 등장하고 있다. 이러한 흐름에 발맞춰 3D UI는 기존의 TV 화면에서 보다 진보된 형태의 사용자 인터페이스의 모습을 보여줄 것이다.

Design and Implementation of Internal Multi-Band Monopole Antenna for Mobile Phones

  • In this paper, we proposed an internal multi-band monopole antenna for mobile phone that can be used for smart phones. The proposed antenna has a small volume of $38{\times}8.5{\times}5\;mm^3$, ground size is $100{\times}60\;mm^2$, and covers the GSM900 (Global System for Mobile communications : 880-960 MHz), DCS (Digital Communications System : 1710-1880 MHz), K-PCS (Korea-Personal Communications Service : 1750-1870 MHz), US-PCS (US Personal Communications Service : 1850-1990 MHz), Bluetooth (2400-2483 MHz), Wibro (2300-2390 MHz) and WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network : 2400-2483.5 MHz) bands. The measured peak gains of the implemented antenna are 1.15 dBi at 920 MHz, 3.58 dBi at 1795 MHz, 3.46 dBi at 1810 MHz, 2.91 dBi at 1920 MHz, 5.18 dBi at 2345 MHz, 3.37 dBi at 2442 MHz.

Implementation of An 1.5Gbit/s Wireless Data Transmission System at 300GHz Band (300GHz 대역 1.5Gbit/s 무선 데이터 전송 시스템 구현)

  • In this paper, an 1.5Gbit/s wireless data transmission system using the carrier frequency of 300 GHz band was implemented. The RF front-end was composed of schottky diode sub-harmonic mixer, frequency tripler, and horn antennas for transmitter and receiver, respectively. The LO frequencies of sub-harmonic mixer are 150GHz for transmit chain and 156GHz for receive chain. The ASK(Amplitude Shift Keying) modulation was used in the transmitter and the envelope detection method was used in the heterodyne receiver. The conversion loss of sub-harmonic mixer and implementation system loss were measured to be 9.8dB and 1.2dB, respectively. The 1.5Gbit/s video signal with HD-SDI format was transmitted over wireless distance of 40cm without optical lens(4.2m with optical lens) and displayed on HDTV at the transmitted average output power of $20{\mu}W$.

  • This paper describes implementation of the 1.9GHz RF frequency synthesizer with $0.18{\mu}m$ silicon CMOS technology being used as an application of the USN sensor node transceiver modules. To get good performance of speed and noise, design of the each module like VCO, prescaler, 1/N divider, fractional divider with ${\Sigma }-{\Delta}$ modulator, and common circuits of the PLL has been optimized. Especially to get good performance of speed, power consumption, and wide tuning range, N-P MOS core structure has been used in design of the VCO. The chip area including pads for testing is $1.2{\times}0.7mm^2$, and the chip area only core for IP in SoC is $1.1{\times}0.4mm^2$. The test results show that there is no special spurs except -63.06dB of the 6MHz reference spurs in the PLL circuitry. There is good phase noise performance like -116.17dBc/Hz in 1MHz offset frequency.

An implementation of 2D/3D Complex Optical System and its Algorithm for High Speed, Precision Solder Paste Vision Inspection (솔더 페이스트의 고속, 고정밀 검사를 위한 이차원/삼차원 복합 광학계 및 알고리즘 구현)

  • A 2D/3D complex optical system and its vision inspection algerian is proposed and implemented as a single probe system for high speed, precise vision inspection of the solder pastes. One pass un length labeling algorithm is proposed instead of the conventional two pass labeling algorithm for fast extraction of the 2D shape of the solder paste image from the recent line-scan camera as well as the conventional area-scan camera, and the optical probe path generation is also proposed for the efficient 2D/3D inspection. The Moire interferometry-based phase shift algerian and its optical system implementation is introduced, instead of the conventional laser slit-beam method, for the high precision 3D vision inspection. All of the time-critical algorithms are MMX SIMD parallel-coded for further speedup. The proposed system is implemented for simultaneous 2D/3D inspection of 10mm${\times}$10mm FOV with resolutions of 10 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ for both x, y axis and 1 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ for z axis. Experiments conducted on several nBs show that the 2D/3D inspection of an FOV, excluding an image capturing, results in high speed of about 0.011sec/0.01sec, respectively, after image capturing, with $\pm$1${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ height accuracy.

  • We present an explicit Eta pairing approach for computing the Tate pairing on general divisors of hyperelliptic curves $H_d$ of genus 2, where $H_d\;:\;y^2+y=x^5+x^3+d$ is defined over ${\mathbb{F}}_{2^n}$ with d=0 or 1. We use the resultant for computing the Eta pairing on general divisors. Our method is very general in the sense that it can be used for general divisors, not only for degenerate divisors. In the pairing-based cryptography, the efficient pairing implementation on general divisors is significantly important because the decryption process definitely requires computing a pairing of general divisors.

  • In this paper, we are proposed a 2-D zero-phase IIR second-order filter which have separable denominators. The filter combines the advantages of the separable denominator and the simplicity of the McClellan transform. Generally, the McClellan transformation is not suitable for IIR filter because the 1-D to 2-D substibution can not be achieved easily in most of denominators. So we have designed the second order denominator using a separable condition via a first order McClellan transformation. The implementation of a higher order filter can be achieved by cascading such second order parts with different coefficients in denominator. As a result, we have suppressed the ripples in stopband and obtained the narrow transition band.

  • This paper describes an RF/IF module for 2.4GHz wireless video and audio receivers The designed circuits are implemented using a Teflon board of which the size is $53mm\times42mm$. The measured LNA gain is 15dB, and the VCO output levels are around 2dBm. The sensitivity of the receiver is about -80dBm. The manufactured module consumes 140nA from a 8V supply.

  • 동양화 중 산수화는 작가의 회화적 재구성에 기반한 일종의 가상공간이라고 할 수 있다. 실제 북악산·인왕산의 명승명도를 상세하게 묘사한 <백운동>에 실제 지형정보를 대입하여 2.5D 콘텐츠를 구현한 것은 흥미로운 주제라 할 것이다. 본 연구에서는 국토지리정보원에서 제공하는 지형 데이터를 활용하여 <백운동> 그림의 2.5D 콘텐츠를 제작하였다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로, 향후에는 터치 기반 인터페이스를 통해 인터랙티브 콘텐츠를 구현하거나 AR/VR 기술을 활용하여 현실감 있는 체험을 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Design and implementation of dual-mode cavity filter with achebyshev response (체비셰프 응답을 갖는 이중모드 공동 공진기 필터의 설계 및 제작)

  • In this paper the dual-mode bandpass filters with a Chebyshev response are designed and manufactured at Ku-band as well as K-band. Manufactured filters are resonated by two independent orthogonal $TE_{113}$ circular-cavity modes and characterized by 4-pole Chebyshev function. One is operating at a center frequency of 12.5GHz with a bandwidth of 100MHz and the other, a center frequency of 19.25GHz with 120MHz, respectively. The measureed experimental results of a 12.5GHZ dual-mode filter ahve a 1.2dB intertion loss in the passband and 65dB out-of-rejection, and a 19.25GHz filter has a 1.55dB insertion loss and 70dB out-of-rejection. These experimantal results shoults show good agreements with the design specifications.
