  • 3D reconstruction of a scene structure from un-calibrated image sequences has been long one of the central problems in computer vision. For 3D reconstruction in Euclidean space, projective reconstruction, which is classified into the merging method and the factorization, is needed as a preceding step. By calculating all camera projection matrices and structures at the same time, the factorization method suffers less from dia and error accumulation than the merging. However, the factorization is hard to analyze precisely long sequences because it is based on the assumption that all correspondences must remain in all views from the first frame to the last. This paper presents a new projective reconstruction method for recovery of 3D structure over long sequences. We break a full sequence into sub-sequences based on a quantitative measure considering the number of matching points between frames, the homography error, and the distribution of matching points on the frame. All of the projective reconstructions of sub-sequences are registered into the same coordinate frame for a complete description of the scene. no experimental results showed that the proposed method can recover more precise 3D structure than the merging method.

  • Recently, in a field of cadastre, a computerization of cadastral map is in progress with great growth of GSIS field. Also, the needs fer the integration of land and building information are widely increasing for integral-management and its application of various land related information. Through a revision of cadastral laws to replace the existing 2D-Cadastre with the 3D-Cadastre, a legal basis to register the position of buildings and facilities is prepared in the governmental or civil fields. This paper presented 3D-Cadastre theory that has been studied on Europe and surveyed building position directly with Totalstation at cadastral control point after choosing pilot test area, Also, the most efficient surveying method of registering building in a cadastral map is presented with comparing and analyzing building position after surveying digital orthophoto and digital map. And it is constructed a 3D information cadastral map model that can make the integral management of land, building, connecting land recorders, building management ledgers, building titles, building pictures, and related attribute information.

  • Silkworms, which have for long been used as an insect resource for industrialization, have recently attracted attention as potential bio-factories for the production of novel biomaterials. In this regard, material production is typically achieved based on transformation technology, mediated via microinjection, in which a target gene is inserted into eggs containing an embryo. However, an essential step in the microinjection procedure is egg fixation, which can be a time-consuming and laborious task. Therefore, in this study, using the 3DCADian program, we adopted a 3D printing approach to model egg liners and glue drawers, which can contribute to facilitating egg alignment and fixation, thereby enhancing transformation efficiency by reducing time consumption and fatigue. After rendering using Fusion 360, the two supplementary tools were produced by printing with nylon resin (PA12) and Sinterit Lisa Pro. Subsequent analysis of the time required to fix eggs on glass slides using the two manufactured tools, revealed that the processing time was reduced by approximately 18.6% when the two tools were used compared with when these tools were not used. These innovations not only reduced fatigue but also contributed to more effective use of the microscope and manipulator for microinjection. Consequently, we believe that with additional research and refinement, the egg liner and glue drawer developed in this study could be used to enhance silkworm transformation efficiency and study similar transformation systems in other industrial insects.

  • An analysis model of noise map is proposed to evaluate and reduce the acoustical noise of power plant and its surroundings. The sound powers of many noise sources are estimated by measuring the sound levels of major equipments in the power plant. The analysis of noise has been made by using ENPro that is a commercial program for environmental noise prediction. The proposed model is verified by comparing the results from noise analysis and measurement at several points of the power plant units 1 through 4, and residential areas. It is shown that noise map simulation using the proposed model has a reliability, since the overall noise level approximates within the error of ±2 dB. Furthermore, through noise analysis, the increasing effect of noise due to newly established units 5 and 6 on residential areas is also analyzed. Consequently, the noise barrier is designed to meet an environmental noise standard and satisfy low cost and safety conditions.

  • More than 70% of Korean Peninsula is consisted of mountains, so that lots of roads, rail-roads and tunnel, which play a pivotal role in the industry activity, are existed along the rock-slope and in the rock-mass. Thus,it is urgent that tegration of management system through the optimum survey and design of rock-slope excavation, proper stabilization method and database of rock-slope. However, conventional methods have shortcoming with the economy of survey time and human resources, and the overcome of difficulties of approach to the in-situ rock-slope. To overcome the limitation of conventional method, this paper proposed the development of remote measurement system using Terrestrial Laser Scanning System. The method using Terrestrial 3D Laser Scanning System, which can get 3D spatial information on the rock-slope and2)Dept. Geosystem Engineering, Kangwon National University, Korea tunnel, has an advantage of reduction of measurement time and the overcome of difficulties of approach to the in-situ rock-slope/dam/tunnel. In the case of rock-slope, through the analysis of 3D modeling of point-cloud by Terrestrial Laser Scanning System, orientation of discontinuity, roughness of joint surface, failure shape and volume were successively achieved. in the case of tunnel face, through reverse-engineering, monitoring of displacement was possible.

  • A system for diagnosing surface defects of long and large pipe inner overlay welds, 1m in diameter and 6m in length, was developed using a Liquid Penetrant Test (PT). First, CATIA was used to model all major units and PT machines in 3-dimensions. They were used for structural strength analysis and strain analysis, and to check the motion interference phenomenon of each unit to produce two-dimensional production drawings. Structural strength analysis and deformation analysis using the ANSYS results in a maximum equivalent stress of 44.901 MPa, which is less than the yield tensile strength of SS400 (200 MPa), a material of the PT Machine. An examination of the performance of the developed equipment revealed a maximum travel speed of 7.2 m/min., maximum rotational speed of 9 rpm, repeatable position accuracy of 1.2 mm, and inspection speed of $1.65m^2/min$. The results of the automatic PT-inspection system developed to check for surface defects, such as cracks, porosity, and undercut, were in accordance with the method of ASME SEC. V&VIII. In addition, the results of corrosion testing of the overlay weld layer in accordance with the ferric chloride fitting test by the method of ASME G48-11 indicated that the weight loss was $0.3g/m^2$, and met the specifications. Furthermore, the chemical composition of the overlay welds was analyzed according to the method described in ASTM A375-14, and all components met the specifications.

  • This research aimed to develop the district unit plan simulation using procedural modeling based on shape grammar. For this, Esri's CityEngine 2020.0 was selected as a main development tool, and Inside Commercial Area in Bangi-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul as the research site where about 25% of the total area was developed over the past five years. Specifically, the research developed the simulation through the following three phases of Data-Information-Knowledge after selecting necessary parameters. In the Data phase, 2 and 3 dimensional data were obtained by utilizing data sharing platforms. In the next Information phase, the acquired data were generated into various procedural models according to the shape grammar, and the 2D and 3D layers were then integrated using relevant applications. In the final Knowledge phase, three-dimensional spatial analysis and storytelling contents were produced based on the integrated layer. As a result, the research suggests the following three implications for the simulation development. First, data accuracy and improvement of sharing platforms are needed in order to effectively carry out the simulation development. Second, the guidelines for district unit plans could be utilized and developed into shape grammar for procedural modeling. Third, procedural modeling is expected to be used as an alternative tool for communication and information delivery.

  • In the remodeling projects, clients without architectural expertise have limitations in presenting requirements accurately. In some cases, designers and contractors may not recognize their demands exactly, and deliver final products that are different from the clients' intentions. 3D modeling visualizing final products in previous has been regarded as a solution to enhance understanding and communication. However, this approach has the limitation that the final results are presented as a virtual outputs. In the remodeling project, an alternative, mixed-reality, is likely to reinforce the reality as it enables to present remain structure and the parts to be built together. This paper examines the mixed reality as a solution to support decision making of clients and practitioners in remodeling projects. The examinations is conducted in high-rise office remodeling projects by means of action-research. Clients and practitioners, overview product models presented in the format of 2D drawings, BIM and mixed reality asked to evaluate the effectiveness of each methods in 12 standards. The results have shown that mixed reality has improved the sense of reality, making it easier to predict results, but recognizing patterns is difficult in some areas such as the floor, and it caused dizziness.

  • Currently, there are cases in Korea where economic damage has occurred due to the ambiguity instrument installation and operation standards in the construction of temporary earth retaining wall, failing to prevent collapse of temporary earth retaining wall at the construction site in advance. Therefore, in this study, a numerical analysis was conducted to find the appropriate installation location of the inclinometer and strain gauge among the installed instruments shown in the design drawing of the temporary earth retaining wall. As a results, It was found that the installation position of the underground inclinometer is the corner of the retaining wall in the case of plane-deformation analysis, and the most displacement occurs in the center of the excavation surface in the case of 3D analysis. When the stress and moment are comprehensively analyzed, the corner is judged to be a vulnerable point. In the case of the strain gauge, In plane-deformation analysis and 3D analysis, the maximum bending stress occurred at the wale connection where the end of the strut and the counter strut are in contact. At this point, it is analyzed that it is necessary to focus on installing and managing the connection to prevent accidents from being vulnerable.
