The purpose of this study was to assess the relationship between the mother's interest in weight control and its association with the preschooler's obesity and weight related concerns. This was a cross-sectional study based on 470 parents' self-reports. To score interests in weight control, mothers rated each of 6 items on a five-point Likert scale ranging from disagree (1) to agree (5). The perceptions of mothers' weights and their children's weights, mothers' Body Mass Index (BMI), preschoolers' Weight-Length Index (WLI) (%), and weight-related concerns were determined. The mothers' BMI was significantly correlated with interest scores of weight control in mothers (r=0.632, p<0.001) while their children's obesity was weakly correlated with the mothers' interest scores (r=0.133, p=0.025). Mothers with a high interest of weight control reported higher percentages of family history of obesity than mothers with lower interests (63.2% vs. 36.8%, p<0.001). Two-thirds of the mothers (65.4%) were accurate in their perceptions about their weights. Similarly, 63.7% of mothers knew exactly their children's weight-statuses. Compared with mothers with low interest in weight controls, mothers with high interest in weight control had lower correct-perceptions about their weights (p<0.05) but higher correct-perceptions about their children's weights. More than two-thirds of mothers (85%) reported not worrying about their children's obesity in the future. Only 14.3% of the mothers were satisfied with their current weight statuses. Three-fourths of mothers preferred exercise as an effective weight-control method for their children, 20% preferred diet therapy and 5.5% preferred behavior modification. More girls were overweight / obese, than boys (overweight: 16.1% (girl) vs. 12.8% (boy), obese: 5.4% (girl) vs. 4.5% (boy)). About 40% of overweight girls' mothers had low interests in their weight controls with low correct-perceptions in their children's weights, which suggests possible elevated risk of obesity, especially in girls, in the future.
This study was conducted to analyze the characteristics of women's body somatotypes by direct measurements. Through the classification of degree of obesity and silhouette, women in their 20s who have a great interest in body somatotype can grasp their real somatotype and recognize their obesity rate and silhouette easily. The results are as follows: 1. Average sizes of subjects for this study were: height 160.3cm, weight 52.2kg, bust 83.7cm, waist 65.7cm, hips 91.1cm. And average values of each body mass index were: BMI 20.3, Rohrer Index 1.27, Vervaeck Index 84.8. 2. For the BMI value, the Average Numeric Index of normal somatotype was the highest, 76.9%. The Rohrer Index of underweight somatotype was 34.3% and the Average Numeric Index was 1.12. In the Vervaeck Index, underweight somatotype was 35.7%, and the average Numeric Index was 79.1, while the overweight somatotype was 7.4% of the Vervaeck Index and 100.8 of the Average Numeric Index. So the index which had the largest range of normal values from the same subjects, was the BMI, then the Rohrer Index, and finally, the Vervaeck Index in that order. 3. In the result of sorting bodies with silhouettes, when drop value were used to sort, N type (normal somatotype) was 69.4%, H type (one has similar sizes in waist size and hips) was 20.4% and A type (one has big hips) was 10.2% in that order. Among people in their early 20s, A type was 12.1%. H type was high, 22.8%, among women in their late 20s. When Sinozaki's method of classifying body types was used, ideal somatotype was 86.6%, A type was 7.4%, I type was 5.6% and X type was 0.5%. Women in their late 20s showed higher rates of ideal somatotype, the rates of A type and I type were lower than women in their early 20s.

Purpose. The study was conducted to find out the effects that women in their 20s with abdominal obesity can get from sling-based flanks. Methods. The study used In-Body to determine the weight and body fat rate of women in their 20s who were overweight at H University and used a tape measure to measure the circumference of the abdomen. Plank exercise using slings to reduce weight, body fat and abdominal circumference led to muscle stabilization and abdominal obesity reduction. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS ver. 23.0 statistics program. Results. The results of the study showed statistically significant differences in the weight, body fat rate and abdominal circumference of the subjects before and after intervention. Conclusions. Steady abdominal muscles exercise help stabilize the abdomen, reduce abdominal body fat rate, and are effective in managing obesity.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of a practiced aquatic exercise program on the body function of obese women in the community, with knowledge of obesity preceded by obesity management education. The subjects were 20 obese women aged 51 to 79 who participated in the program for 8 weeks among the participants of health program in S healthcare center in D city. The aquatic exercise program, which includes obesity management training, consists of a total of 110 minutes, including twice a week, 20 minutes of obesity management training, and 60 minutes of aquatic exercise program. Obesity management education focuses on physical activity practice and dietary training. The results of this study showed that the aquatic exercise program including the 8 - week obesity management training decreased abdominal circumference, body weight and body mass index (p <.001, p <.001, p <.001),increased grip strength(P <.05), which is an effective program for reducing obesity and improving muscle power. In the follow-up study, it is necessary to increase the number of subjects and to develop the experimental design study with the control group and the participatory obesity management underwater exercise program that the participant directly participates and leads. It also suggests that additional strategies for continuous lifestyle improvement are needed.

This study examines the multilateral characteristics of elderly body shapes by applying body measurement items and obesity indices (BMI, WHR, WHtR, WC, and flatness). The subjects were 397 males, 378 females aged 70-85 from the $6^{th}$ Size Korea and 132 males, 212 females aged 60-69, 596 males, 650 females aged 20-29 from the $7^{th}$ Size Korea. In order to examine the body size differences among age groups, age was divided into 7 groups (20-24, 25-29, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, and 80-85). Both elderly males and females showed lower values of height and weight than those in their 20s. However, abdominal obesity indices (WHR and WHtR) showed higher values in the elderly than those of their 20s; in addition, they showed larger mean values as age increased. The chest and arm circumference tended to decrease in elderly males as age increased; however, elderly females tended to decrease in thigh and calf circumference size. There were gender differences in body changing due to aging. Obesity frequency was significantly higher in the elderly than in the 20s. The study represents basic data for product design for the elderly.
The purpose of this study was to examine the factors affecting Obesity-Stress among women in their twenties. The research design for this study was a descriptive survey design using a convenience sampling. Data collection was done using self-report questionnaires with 216 women located in M city. Pearson correlation coefficients and Hierarchical multiple regression with the SPSS Win 18.0 Program were used to analyze the data. In the hierarchical multiple regression analysis, Perceived body shape and BMI significantly predicted. A result of examining the correlation between stress and obesity Stress and the variables, Appearance Orientation,(r=.386, p=<.001) Self-Esteem(r=.324, p=<.001) Body Evaluation(r=-453, p=<.001), Body Appearance Satisfaction(r=-.560, p=<.001). hierarchical multiple regression step 3 shows that variables explained 54.1%. As a result on the basis of, This will require a variety of training programs provided in order to reduce obesity stress.
This study was conducted to investigate the effects of 10-week dietary education on elementary students in an after-school program in Seoul. Participants were 20 1-2 grade students and 283-6 grade students, and the dietary program consisted of dietary education and activities focused on children's levels of understanding. The results were as follows: Total participant's food habit scores and nutrition knowledge significantly increased (p<0.05) after dietary education. Food habit and nutrition knowledge scores of lower grade participants (grade) increased desirably (p<0.05). Meanwhile higher grade participants' (grade) food habit scores also changed (p<0.05), but their nutrition knowledge scores were changed. Boy's food habit scores significantly changed (p<0.05), whereas girl's food habit scores did not change significantly. Further, female participants' nutrition knowledge scores did not changesignificantly after education. Participants' obesity knowledge scores significantly changed after the education (p<0.05), but their attitudes on obesity increased insignificantly. Lower grade participants' attitudes on obesity significantly and desirably changed (p<0.05), whereas higher grade participants' attitudes on obesity changed insignificantly. Girl's knowledge and attitudes on obesity significantly and desirably changed (p<0.05-0.01). This study revealed the correlation between food habit scores and attitudes on obesity (p<0.01), demonstrating that participants with high food habit scores have advisable attitudes on obesity. The result of this study shows that lower grade participants' food habit scores, nutrition knowledge, and attitudes on obesity changed desirably after dietary education. Therefore, this study promote the development of adequate nutrition education and materials focused on lower grade students and the need for systematic and continuous dietary education programs based on elementary school.
This study was conducted to explore the effect of health behavior and obesity indices on blood pressure(BP) in 20s men. This was a retrospective exploratory study and the subjects were 214 men who participated in screening test for clinical trial at a tertiary hospital between October 2006 and April 2011. The proportion of normal SBP and DBP was 28.5% and 50.0%, respectively. BP was significantly higher in individuals who were hypertriglyceridemia and hypercholesterolemia than BP in subjects of opposing categories. DBP was significantly higher in individuals who were 25~29 years and smokers than DBP in subjects of opposing categories. The significant factors of increasing SBP were BMI and TG, and those for DBP were TC, TG, age, and smoking amount. In conclusion, these results demonstrate hypertention prevention program to include decreasing intake of TC and TG, maintaining normal BMI and quitting smoking needs to the young men in 20s.
Purpose: The objective of this study was to study the effect of the obesity control program to the extent of the overweight children's knowledge about obesity, physical exercise, dietary habits and the extent of obesity. Methods: A total of 61 elementary school children between the age of 9-12 were chosen for this study: 31 overweight children whose extent of obesity exceeded over 20% when measured using Broca index and other 30 overweight children of the same category for the comparison as a control group. The obesity control program made up of regular physical exercise for five days per week and a weekly diet education and consultation was implemented for the period of 8 weeks. Results: The knowledge about obesity, regular physical exercise, and diet habits were significantly improved after implementing the obesity control program, as compared to the control group. But the extent of obesity was not significantly decreased. Conclusion: These results suggest that the studies are needed to define factors of effective program and develop the effective program for decreasing the extent of obesity.

This study investigates the mediate effects of obesity stress on the relationship between the narcissism and clothing behavior related appearance. The subjects for the study were 322 women aged 20's-30's in an online survey. Data analyses were conducted with SPSS 18.0 program. The study results are as follows. First, clothing behavior and obesity stress of plus size consumers are more affected by perceived obesity than BMI, and covert narcissistic tendency is stronger than overt narcissistic tendency. Second, the factor analysis results on narcissistic tendency indicated 'self-enhancement narcissism', 'self-initiative narcissism', and 'other-dependent narcissism'. Third, 'self-enhancement narcissism' more influenced 'fashion orientation' versus the greater influence of 'self-initiative narcissism' and 'other-dependent narcissism' on 'depending on clothing'. Fourth, the narcissistic tendency perceived by plus size consumers affect 'depending on clothing' and 'fashion orientation' with obesity stress as the mediator. 'Self-enhancement narcissism' and 'self-initiative narcissism' are partially mediated by obesity stress, and 'other-dependent narcissism' are completely mediated and affect appearance management behavior.
