Grape phylloxera, Daktulosphaira vitifoliae(Fitch), is a destructive grape insect pest because it forms root galls and kills the plant by directly destroying root system. The effects of insecticide treatments were examined to establish the chemical control system of phylloxera, and the damage by this insect was investigated in grapevine yards. The treatments of 40kg carbofuran 3GR per ha and carbosulfan 20WP of 10$\ell$ (1,000$\times$) per tree successfully reduced phylloxera densities. After the insecticide treatments in early season, the phylloxera population rebuilt up again at harvest season. In a grapevine yard where two times of carbofuran treatment (mid-May and post-harvest treatment) were applied a year from 1998 to 2000, total yield per ha in 2000 showed an increase of 30% over that of 1998. But the yield in 2000 was low 20% compared to the average standard yield of Korean grapevine yards. In a grapevine yard without chemical treatment during the same years, total yield per ha in 2000 showed 53% reduction compared to that of 1998. Also, damaged vines by phylloxera abruptly increased from 3% in 1998 to 50% in 2000.

21세기를 여는 2000년. 지구의 시계는 과거를 향해 거꾸로 돌게 된다. 전산시스템의 뜻하지 않은 에러는 전세계를 혼란속으로 내몰게 된다. 98년이 되면서 그동안 Y2K(Year 2000)문제에 미온적인 입장을 보여온 국내 업계에 긴장감이 고조되고 있다. 이미 구미 선진국들보다 수년이나 뒤쳐져 있음에도 그동안 이렇다할 대비책을 마련하지 않았던 업체들이 차츰 이를 현실로 받아들이고 있는 상태이다. 이제 2000년이라는 새로운 땅을 밟기 위해 우리는 남아있는 2개의 징검다리를 효과적으로 디딜 수 있도록 준비해야 할 것이다.

Current status of pesticide applications in sweet persimmon orchards was investigated through the questionnaire and analysis of the pesticide application records from 62 growers in 2000 and 17 growers in 2001 in Jinju, Sacheon, Changwon, Changyoung, and Gimhae in Korea. Average yearly application was 7.6 times in 2000 and 7.7 times in 2001, concentrated in June and July. The kinds of fungicides and insecticides used were 36 and 34 items in 2000, and 22 and 23 items in 2001, respectively. Application of pesticides was mostly finished by mid-September. Fungicides such as mancozeb, thiophanate-methyl, and benomyl were most frequently used in 2000, and lime sulfur, benomyl and carbendazim in 2001. Insecticides such as deltamethrin, methidathion, and fenitrothion + fenvalerate were frequently used in both years. About one-half of the pesticides being used by the growers was not registered for persimmon in Korea.

"1999년도 수자원관리기법개발연구조사보고서"(건설교통부, 2000b)에서는 1969년부터 1999년까지 우리나라에서 발생한 132개의 주요호우를 분석하여 전국적으로 일반화된 PMP를 추정(건설교통부, 2000a)하였다. 그러나 1999년 이후, 2002년 태풍 루사(Rusa) 등의 극치호우가 발생하였으며, 이로 인해 기 추정된 PMP에 영향을 주었을 가능성이 크다. 따라서 본 인구에서는 2000년부터 2003년까지 발생한 주요 호우의 DAD 관계를 분석하였고, 이들 호우에 내한 크기와 규모를 정량적으로 평가하였으며, 이를 이용하여 2000년 이후 발생한 호우가 PMP에 어느 정도 또는 어떠한 형태로 영향을 줄 것인지를 분석하였다.
