  • The system that follows to the resonance frequency of high frequency MOSFET inverter and varies according to the changes of load characteristics is proposed. Also we suggested a method how to select the resonant load type between series and parallel circuit for a given inverter type. It leads to the conclusion that in the case of high impedance loads, parallel resonant circuits are preferable, on the other hand, for low impedance loads, series resonant circuits are more preferable. For frequency tracking, a PLL circuit is used as main control element to detect the phase difference of current and voltage of load. The realized apparatus composed of control circuit and voltage type full-bridged MOSFET elements as main parts of inverter. A stable frequency follow-up characteristics are obtained for 1.2MHz, 1.5KW high frequency output and power is always supplied to the load with unity power factor.

  • The frequency-domain small-loop electromagnetic (EM) instruments are increasingly used for shallow environmental and geotechnical surveys because of their portability and speed. However, it is well known that the data quality is generally so poor that quantitative interpretation of the data is not justified in many cases. We present an inversion method that allows the correction for the calibration errors and also constructs multidimensional resistivity models. The key point in this method is that the data are collected at least at two different heights. The forward modeling used in the inversion is based on an efficient 3-D finite-difference method, and its solution was checked against 2-D finite-element solution. The synthetic and real data examples demonstrate that the joint inversion recovers reliable resistivity models from multi-frequency data severely contaminated by the calibration errors.

  • A method of calculating the natural frequency corresponding to the first mode of vibration of beams and tower structures, with irregular cross sections and with arbitrary boundary conditions was developed and reported by Kim, D. H. in 1974. In this paper, the result of application of this method to the three span continuous reinforced concrete bridge with elastic intermediate supports in presented. Such bridge represents either concrete or sandwich type three span bridge on polymeric supports for passive control or on actuators for active control. Any method may be used to obtain the deflection influence surfaces needed for this vibration analysis. Finite difference method is used for this purpose, In this paper. The influence of the modulus of the foundation and $D_{22}$, $D_{l2}$, $D_{66}$ stiffnesses on the natural frequency is thoroughly studied.d.

  • Much computing time and large computer memory are needed to solve the wave equation in a large complex subsurface layer using finite difference method. The time and memory can be reduced by decreasing the number of grid per minimun wave length. However, decrease of grid may cause numerical dispersion and poor accuracy. In this study, we present 49 points weighted average method which save the computing time and memory and improve the accuracy. This method applies a new weighted average to the coordinate determined by transforming the coordinate of conventional 5 points finite difference stars to $0^{\circ}$ and $45^{\circ}$, 25 points finite differenc stars to $0^{\circ}$, $26.56^{\circ}$, $45^{\circ}$, $63.44^{\circ}$ and 49 finite difference stars to $0^{\circ}$, $18.43^{\circ}$, $33.69^{\circ}$, $45^{\circ}$, $56.30^{\circ}$, $71.56^{\circ}$. By this method, the grid points per minimum wave length can be reduced to 2.5, the computing time to $(2.5/13)^3$, and the required core memory to $(2.5/13)^4$ computing with the conventional method.

  • Purpose: This study was done to assess development and postnatal care interventions in postnatal care intervention records for maternity ward nurses in tertiary hospitals and women's hospitals in South Korea. Methods: This mixed-method research was a Time-Motion (TM) study. Data were collected through external observation of 12 nurses in 4 wards over 24 hours. Mann-Whitney U test and independent t-test were employed for the analysis of frequency and provision time of direct/indirect care activity. $x^2$ (Fisher's exact test) was utilized to determine the difference in frequency between two groups. IBM SPSS 22.0 statistical program was employed for calculation. All statistical significance levels were at ${\alpha}=.05$. Results: According to the KPCS-1 (Korean Patient Classification System-1), women's hospitals are group 3 and tertiary hospitals, group 4. With respect to time difference in direct care, tertiary hospitals showed 791 minutes and women's hospitals, 399 a difference of 392 minutes. For time difference in indirect care, women's hospitals had 2,415 minutes while tertiary hospitals, 2,080, a difference of 335 minutes for women's hospitals. No difference was found in the average total care workload between the two institutions. Individual time also showed no difference (p>.05). Conclusion: High-risk maternal care strength in tertiary hospitals and breast-feeding strength in women's hospitals need to be benchmarked with each other.

  • This study proposes a circulating current reduction method that uses high-frequency voltage compensation when carrier phase difference occurs between two inverters in MSIS. In MSIS, inverters are configured in parallel to increase power capacity and to increase efficiency by using inverters only as needed. However, in the parallel inverter structure, circulating current is inevitably generated. Circulating current increases the stress on the switch, adversely affects the current control performance, and renders load sharing difficult. The proposed method compensates for the output voltage reference of the slave module by using the high-frequency voltage so that the switching pattern of each module is matched even in asynchronous carriers. The validity of the proposed method is verified by simulations and experiments with 600 W IPMSM.

  • This paper proposes a method that can reduce the complexity of a system matrix by analyzing the characteristics of a pseudoinverse matrix to receive a binomial frequency division multiplexing (BFDM) signal and decode it using the least squares (LS) method. The system matrix of BFDM can be expressed as a band matrix, and as this matrix contains many zeros, its amount of calculation when generating a transmission signal is quite small. The LS solution can be obtained by multiplying the received signal by the pseudoinverse matrix of the system matrix. The singular value decomposition of the system matrix indicates that the pseudoinverse matrix is a band matrix. The signal-to-interference ratio is obtained from their eigenvalues. Meanwhile, entries that do not contribute to signal generation are erased to enhance calculation efficiency. We decode the received signal using the pseudoinverse matrix and the removed pseudoinverse matrix to obtain the bit error rate performance and to analyze the difference.

  • In this paper, the scattering parameters of the metamaterial slab are obtained using the 2D FDTD(Finite-Difference Time-Domain) method. FDTD method is one of strongest electromagnetic numerical method which is widely used to analyze the metamaterial structure because of its simplicity. But it is very difficult to obtain frequency response of metamaterial itself because frequency dispersive model such as Lorentz, Drude model are used in FDTD. We used the well-known m-n-m cycle sine pulse to obtain the frequency response of the metamaterials. Comparisons between the wideband Gaussian input pulse and band-limited m-n-m cycle sine pulse are performed in this paper also. From the results, we concluded that the scattering parameters in frequency domain can be obtained using specific input pulse in FDTD even if the response has valid only for limited bandwidth.

  • This study divided the observation area in an indoor space for area setup to analyse the effect of the difference of design types on the characteristics of observation with the observed time of each area as objects. Though it is thought that the difference of design patterns may be influenced by the factors and material composing the space, no existing approaches have had any quantitatively measuring method. Eye-tracking could be efficiently utilized for observation analysis from the viewpoint of dating observation behavior. The followings are the results of analysing the observation characteristics depending on design pattern. First, 5 observing areas were set up according to concentration of observation time in order for the concentration by area to be examined and the factors of design having effect on the difference of observation patterns by design type could be analysed. Second, as a whole, the observation of modern types showed high observation characteristics. When the difference of observation characteristics by pattern was examined by difference at observation frequency, the observation frequency defined to be more than 50% was seen to be almost same from Area I to III and to get higher from Area IV, and that defined to be 30% was high at Areas III and IV. In Area V, it was very high at natural. Third, that of Area II is no more than 8.2% but had the most observation time. As for observation characteristics, the horizontal observation of the central part was the highest and had more observation frequency at modern type that at natural one. These observation characteristics by area enabled to analyse the observation tendency depending on design characters at relevant area. Fourth, the design factors composing natural type were found to bring more attention when the area showed higher concentration at natural type than at modern one. And the analysis of design factors could make it to be confirmed that the quality of material and background factors in addition to design factors in the area had more effect on sight concentration.
