Properties of Surface Treatment for Aluminum Alloy by Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation (PEO를 이용한 알루미늄 합금의 표면처리 방법 및 특성 평가)

  • 자동차를 포함한 수송기기, 전기 및 전자산업에 있어 경량화, 소형화, 고성능화와 함께 에너지 및 원가절감을 위한 노력이 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 알루미늄은 신소재 및 고효율 제조공정 개발을 위한 합금설계기술, 용해/주조 기술, 가공기술, 열처리 기술, 시험평가 기술, 시뮬레이션 기술에 대한 전방위적인 연구가 진행되고 있다. 최근 프리미엄 자동차 시장에 고강도 알루미늄을 이용한 휠 시장이 폭발적으로 증가하고 있다. 2010년 전세계 자동차 휠 시장 규모는 56조원으로 알루미늄 휠 시장 규모는 약 19조원으로 점차 증가하고 있으며, CO2 배출 및 연비 증가에 대한 시대적 요구에 의해 수송기기의 경량화 및 주행 성능 향상으로 알루미늄 휠 시장 규모는 해마다 증가하고 있다. 7xxx 계열의 알루미늄 합금을 이용해 PEO (Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation) 혹은 MAO (Micro Arc Oxidation)를 이용해 표면처리를 수행하였다. 표면처리는 Silicate, Vanadate 및 Phosphate 등의 전해액을 선택적으로 사용하였으며, AC 200 ~ 500 V의 전압 조건 범위에서 CV 모드로 전류를 인가하였다. 형성된 표면 산화층은 산화막 두께 분석, 내마모 특성 평가, 염수분무 평가, 전기화학 평가(Potentiodynamic Polarization) 등을 통해 표면 산화층 분석을 진행하였다.

Manufacturing of Ti-48Al-2Cr-2Nb Alloy Turbocharger Turbine Wheel by Vacuum Centrifugal Casting (진공 원심 주조를 이용한 Ti-48Al-2Cr-2Nb 합금 터보차저 터빈휠 제작)

  • Based on its good compatibility with high-temperature environments, the Ti-48Al-2Cr-2Nb alloy is used for high-temperature materials of industrial equipment. In this study, a Ti-48Al-2Cr-2Nb alloy turbocharger turbine wheel was fabricated by a vacuum centrifugal casting method. The conditions that prevent misrun defects of the turbocharger turbine wheel blade from centrifugal casting using alumina molds were investigated. The microstructure of the alloy prepared by vacuum centrifugal casting was studied by means of optical microscopy (OM), with a micro-Vickers hardness analyzer (HV), by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and by SEM-EDS. The HV and SEM-EDS examinations of the as-cast Ti-48Al-2Cr-2Nb alloy showed that the thickness of the oxide layer (α-case) was typically less than 50 ㎛. At a high preheating temperature of 1,100℃, a moderate RPM of 260, and with an alumina mold with a large gate size, there were almost no misrun defects. Therefore, it was confirmed that a Ti-48Al-2Cr-2Nb alloy turbocharger turbine wheel with fewer misrun defects could be achieved through a high preheating temperature, a moderate RPM, a large gate size and an alumina mold to suppress the formation of alpha-case components.

YBCO 고온 초전도체의 자기 부상력 및 에너지 저장응용

  • 용융공정으로 제조한 YBCO 고온 초전도체는 임계전류밀도가 높기 때문에 외부자장을 강력하게 반발한다. 영구자석과 YBCO 초전도체간의 부상력을 이용하면 무접촉으로 회전할 수 있는 베어링을 제작할 수 있다 고온 초전도체 무접촉 베어링은 고에너지 효율의 플라이휠 에너지 저장장치에 활용된다. 초전도 베어링은 전자석을 이용한 자기 베어링에 비해, 위치 제어 시스템 없이 중량물을 공중에 띄워 회전시킬 수 있는 장점이 있다. 플라이휠 에너지 저장장치는 무공해의 환경 친화적인 기술로, 용량과 규모, 에너지 입출력 양과 시간을 조절하기 쉽다. 또한, 장소설정에 제한이 없으므로 에너지를 필요로 하는 장소에 자유롭게 설치할 수 있고, 에너지밀도가 다른 저장시스템에 비해 상대적으로 높다. 현재 선진 각국에서는 에너지의 효율적 저장 및 활용을 위해 고온 초전도체 베어링을 이용한 플라이휠 에너지 저장장치를 국가적 중점 사업으로 개발 중이며 2000년 초에 실용화될 전망이다. 본 논문에서는 고온 초전도체의 자기 부상력, 플라이흴 에너지 저장장치의 개념설계 및 개발동향에 대해 요약하였다.

  • A flywheel system which can compensate electric power is presented. The designed system has a capability of providing real and imaginary power instantaneously as well as storing energy. In this paper, a control algorithm is designed. The designed algorithm is to control the secondary side current of the wound rotor induction motor using voltage-based PWM inverter. The flywheel system has advantages in converter size and power quality improvement comparing to the conventional system.

  • This paper proposes fault tolerant control laws using sliding mode control and adaptation laws for a satellite with reaction wheel faults. Considering system parameter errors and faults uncertainties in the dynamics of satellite, the control laws were designed. It was assumed that only reaction wheel failures occurred as faults. The reaction wheel faults were reflected in the multiply form. Because the proposed control laws satisfy the Lyapunov stability theorem, the stability is guaranteed. Through computer simulation, it was assured that the proposed adaptive sliding mode controller has a better performance than the existing sliding mode controller under unstable angular rates.

  • In this paper, a mobile robot capable of remote control is designed in consideration of the user's various work environments. Specifically, a mobile remote work robot that moves in a predetermined direction and can perform a series of tasks in synchronization with the user's hand movements, and a control system and control method for controlling the robot were proposed. It was implemented using a robot hand and a wheel for movement to assist in tasks such as transporting dangerous goods or heavy goods. In order to evaluate the performance of the developed robot, the maximum weight that can be carried by the robot hand and the movable inclination of the robot were tested, and the test evaluation results satisfied most of the targeted design specifications.

Measurement of Moment of Inertia of a Small Turbocharger Rotor (소형 터보과급기 로터의 관성모멘트 측정)

  • Measurements of the moment of inertia of a small turbocharger rotor were studied. A measuring device was manufactured using the trifilar method and the moment of inertia of the calibration rotor was measured to verify the device. The coefficient of variation was 0.43% and the error was 0.75%. The results showed that the device is suitable for measuring the moment of inertia of a turbocharger rotor. Next, the moment of inertia for two turbine rotors and compressor wheels was measured. Those for the turbine rotors showed precise and accurate results in that the coefficients were under 1.0% and the errors were under 3.0%. On the other hand, those for the compressor wheel were precise but inaccurate in that the coefficients were under 1.0% and the errors were over 24.4%. Therefore an indirect method for the compressor wheel was suggested. The results showed that the coefficients were under 1.2% and the errors were under 7.88%.
