  • The inverse algorithm of Point-Fitted Paraboloid Approximation is derived and used in reliability-based calculations. The algorithm of Reliability- Conditioned method is modified in the calculation of failure points such that nonlinear performance functions can be treated in like manner as linear cases without new formulations. SOSM/RC combined method results in probability of failure closed to specified one, and partial safety factors become nearly constant for a wide range of load ratio.

IIR Filter Design of HRTF for Real-Time Implementation of 3D Sound by Synthetic Stereo Method (합성 스테레오 방식 3차원 입체음향의 실시간 구현을 위한 머리전달 함수의 IIR 필터 설계)

  • In this paper, we proposed an algorithm for the approximation of high order FIR filters by low order IIR filters to efficient implementing two channel 3-D surround sound systems using Head-related transfer functions(HRTFs). The algorithm is based on a concept of the balanced model reduction. The binaural sounds using the approximated HRTFs are reproduced by headphone, and serves as a cue of sound image localization. HRTFs of dummy-head are approximated from 512-order FIR filters by 32-order IIR filters and compare with each other. .Experiment of sound image are carried out for 10 participants. We perform the experiment based on computer simulation and hardware experiment with TMS320C32. The results of the experiments show that the localization using the approximated HRTFs is the same accuracy as the case of FIR filters that simulate the HRTFs.

  • 본 논문에서는 사전등화를 이용하는 상향링크 MC-CDMA(multicarrier-code division multiple access)/TDD(time division duplexing) 시스템에서 사전등화를 위한 상향링크 채널을 추정하는 방법들을 제안하고 시스템의 성능분석을 수행한다. 제안된 방법들에서는 하향링크 슬롯구간에서의 채널변화를 적절한 차수의 다항식으로 모델링하고, 이 다항식을 상향링크 슬롯구간으로 확장함으로써 상향링크 슬롯구간의 채널을 추정한다. 하향링크 슬롯구간에서의 채널변화는 MMSE(minimum mean squared error)curve fitting 방법이나 Lagrange 보간법 등이 사용되며 1차, 2차, 3차 다항식으로 근사화 된다. 성능지표로 정확도보다 시스템 성능이 중요 하므로 BER (bit error rate)을 사용한다. 다양한 시스템 및 채널환경에서의 모의실험 결과로부터 Lagrange 보간법은 하향링크 채널정보가 정확한 경우에는 MMSE 방법보다 성능이 다소 우수하지만 하향링크 채널추정 오류에 매우 민감하며, 2 차 다항식을 사용한 MMSE curve fitting 방법은 다양한 환경에서 우수한 성능을 가질 뿐만 아니라 채널추정 오류에도 매우 강인함을 알 수 있다.

Performance Analysis of Monopulse System Based on Third-Order Taylor Expansion in Additive Noise (부가성 잡음이 존재하는 모노펄스 시스템 성능의 3차 테일러 전개 기반 해석적 분석)

  • In this paper, it is shown how the performance of the monopulse algorithm in the presence of an additive noise can be obtained analytically. In the previous study, analytic performance analysis based on the first-order Taylor series and the second-order Taylor series has been conducted. By adopting the third-order Taylor series, it is shown that the analytic performance based on the third-order Taylor series can be made closer to the performance of the original monopulse algorithm than the analytic performance based on the first-order Taylor series and the second-order Taylor series. The analytic MSE based on the third-order Taylor approximation reduces the analytic MSE error based on the second-order Taylor approximation by 89.5%. It also shows faster results in all cases than the Monte Carlo-based MSE. Through this study, it is possible to explicitly analyze the angle estimation ability of monopulse radar in an environment where noise jamming is applied.

  • 핀-관 열교환기의 효율을 증대시키기 위하여는 열저항을 결정하는 데 있어서 중요한 역할을 하는 공기측 열전달 특성의 향상이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 핀-관 열교환기의 공리측 성능을 해석하기 위해서 3차원 비압축성 Navier-Stokes 코드를 개발하였으며 이 코드는 시간항에 스칼라 내재적 근사분해법(scalar implicit approximate factorization)절차, 공간항에 유한체적법과 2차의 풍상차분법(upwind differencing)을 사용한다. 서로 다른 3개의 핀형상(평판핀, 슬릿핀, 파형핀)을 고려하였고 이들의 유동 및 열전달 특성을 연구하였다.

  • This paper proposes a simple linear function approximation method to solve an economic load dispatch problem with complex non-smooth generating cost function. This algorithm approximates a non-smooth power cost function to a linear approximate function and subsequently shuts down a generator with the highest operating cost and reduces the power of generator with more generating cost in order to balance the generating power and demands. When applied to the most prevalent benchmark economic load dispatch cases, the proposed algorithm is found to dramatically reduce the power cost than does heuristic algorithm. Moreover, it has successfully obtained results similar to those obtained through a quadratic approximate function method.

Navier-Stokes 방정식의 유한차등법에 관하여

  • 지금까지 몇가지의 차등법들을 계산의 정확도 및 안정성에 관하여 검토하였다. 상류 차등법과 왜도 차등법은 좋은 안정성을 가지고 있으나 그 정확도가 미흡한게 결점이고 중앙 차등법은 비 교적 좋은 정확드를 가지고 있으나 불안정한게 큰 결점이다. QUICK 차등법의 경우에는 보다 정확한 수치해를 얻기위해 종속 변수를 보다 고차의 근사치로 표시하였는데 정확도가 증가함에 따라 몇가지의 불이익이 생기게 된다. 그 불이익으로는 제일 먼저 계산 비용의 증가를 들 수 있으며 수치 계산이 불안정하게 되고 경계 조건의 표시가 어려워 진다. 또한 난류 에너지 방 정식과 같이 종속 변수가 반드시 양수값을 갖는 방정식에서 그 차등방정식의 종속 변수도 양수 치를 가져야 한다는 제한 조건을 만족시키는데 일반적으로 어려움이 많다. 그 이유는 QUICK 차등법을 이용한 차등방정식은 흔히 음수치의 원천항을 갖기 때문에 차등방정식을 푼 후 그 종속 변수가 음수치를 갖기 때문이다. 아직도 고차의 정확도를 갖는 차등법이 연구 개발중이며 종속 변수가 반드시 양수치인 유동방정식을 푸는 좋은 차등법은 아직까지도 없는 실정이어서 2차 이 상의 정확도와 절대 안정성 (absolute stability)을 갖는 새로운 차등법의 개급이 시발하다 하겠다.

Solution of Eigenvalue Problems for Nonclassically Damped Systems with Multiple Frequencies (중복근을 갖는 비비례 감쇠시스템의 고유치 해석)

  • A solution method is presented to solve the eigenvalue problem arising in the dynamic analysis of nonclassicary damped structural systems with multiple eigenvalues. The proposed method is obtained by applying the modified Newton-Raphson technique and the orthonormal condition of the eigenvectors to the linear eigenproblem through matrix augmentation of the quadratic eigenvalue problem. In the iteration methods such as the inverse iteration method and the subspace iteration method, singularity may be occurred during the factorizing process when the shift value is close to an eigenvalue of the system. However, even though the shift value is an eigenvalue of the system, the proposed method provides nonsingularity, and that is analytically proved. Since the modified Newton-Raphson technique is adopted to the proposed method, initial values are need. Because the Lanczos method effectively produces better initial values than other methods, the results of the Lanczos method are taken as the initial values of the proposed method. Two numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method and the results are compared with those of the well-known subspace iteration method and the Lanczos method.

A Second-Order Adiabatic Analysis Method of Stirling Engines Based on the Approximate Analytical Solution (해석적 근사해에 근거한 스터링기관의 2차단열해석법)

  • To predict performances of Stirling Engines, a second-order analysis method has been developed. The present method which is based on the approximate analytical solution to the Ideal Adiabatic Model includes major loss mechanisms due to finite heat transfer and flow friction. Comparison of calculated results with previously reported study for a specific engine shows reasonable agreements and a possibility of being used for basic designs. Also, predicted performances with repect to engine speeds are consistent with experimental data in trend. To improve the prediction capability of this method, it is needed that not only additional losses should be taken into account, but also fundamental characteristics of oscillating flow and heat transfer should be better understood.
