This thesis deals with a method to solve a two-and-one-half-dimensional ($2\frac12$ D) problem, which means that the ocean environment is two-dimensional whereas the source is fully three-dimensionally propagating, including three-dimensional refraction phenomena and three-dimensional back-scattering, using two-dimensional two-way parabolic equation method combined with Fourier synthesis. Two dimensional two-way parabolic equation method uses Galerkin's method for depth and Crank-Nicolson method and alternating direction for range and provides a solution available to range-dependent problem with wave-field back-scattered from discontinuous interface. Since wavenumber, k, is the function of depth and vertical or horizontal range, we can reduce a dimension of three-dimensional Helmholtz equation by Fourier transforming in the range direction. Thus transformed two-dimensional Helmholtz equation is solved through two-way parabolic equation method. Finally, we can have the $2\frac12$ D solution by inverse Fourier transformation of the spectral solution gained from in the last step. Numerical simulation has been carried out for a canonical ocean environment with stair-step bottom in order to test its accuracy using the present analysis. With this spectral parabolic equation method, we have examined three-dimensional acoustic propagation properties in a specified site in the Korean Straits.

In this paper, the scattered field from a perfectly conducting fractal surface by Finite-Difference Time-Domain(FDTD) method was computed. A one-dimensional fractal surface was generated by using the fractional Brownian motion model. Back scattering coefficients are calculated with different values of the spectral parameter(S0), fractal dimension(D) which determine characteristics of the fractal surface. The number of surface realization for the computed field, the point number, and the width of surface realization are set to be 80, 1024, 16λ, respectively. In order to verify the computed results these results are compared with those of small perturbation methods, which show good agreement between them.

In the present paper, an infinite-depth unified theory is applied to the computation of the linear and second-order hydrodynamic forces on slender bodies. No forward speed is assumed, which is valid for some types of ships, like FPSOs and shuttle tankers. Strip theory solution, which is essential for the extension to theory is extended to unified theory, was obtained using NIIRD program developed at MIT. The linear theory is extended to the computation of the second-order mean-drift forces and moment. Furthermore, Aranha's formular is applied to the prediction of wave drift damping coefficients. From this study, it is proved that unified theory provides an accuracy comparable with 3D panel method for the second-order forces as well as the linear solution with much less computational effort.

In this paper, a new parallel computation method, which fully utilize the parallel processors both in mesh generation and FEM calculation for 2D/3D process simulation, is presented. High performance parallel FEM and parallel linear algebra solving technique was showed that excessive computational requirement of memory size and CPU time for the three-dimensional simulation could be treated successively. Our parallelized numerical solver successfully interpreted the transient enhanced diffusion (TED) phenomena of dopant diffusion and irregular shape of R-LOCOS within 15 minutes. Monte Carlo technique requires excessive computational requirement of CPU time. Therefore high performance parallel solving technique were employed to our cascade sputter simulation. The simulation results of Our sputter simulator allowed the calculation time of 520 sec and speedup of 25 using 30 processors. We found the optimized number of ion injection of our MC sputter simulation is 30,000.
This study investigated the method for obtaining 3-dimensional terrain information on inaccessable areas by evaluating geometric accuracy of the EOC pass image and scene image acquired from the KOMPSAT-1 satellite. For this purpose, the following four experiments were conducted to evaluate the accuracy of the KOMPSAT-1 EOC satellite data. 1) Calculation of ground coordinates by using ancillary data and image coordinates on Level 1R that were processed by the pre-processing system of KOMPSAT-1. 2) Calculation of 3-dimensional ground coordinates from the ground coordinates of stereo images calculated by using ancillary data, based on space intersections. 3) Execution of bundle adjustment by using GCP (Ground Control Point) extracted in a part of the stereo pass image (KOMPSAT-1 EOC, 1 scene size); and then, evaluation of the ground coordinates from the calculated exterior orientation. 4) Evaluation of accuracy by applying the exterior orientation calculated from 3) To the whole pass image.
Metal Mono Chalcogenides(MMC)는 각각의 III족 metal 원자당한개의 chalchogen 원자를 갖고 있는(MX, M=Ga and In, X=S, Se, and Te)층상구조 화합물이다.

On the initial design process of a scramjet vehicle such as the trajectory prediction, it is inevitable to estimate the aerodynamic performance of a three-dimensional effect. Despite the necessity of intensive computing for the three-dimensional model, it is inefficient in predicting a wide range of aerodynamic performance. In this study, an engineering model for aerodynamic performance was developed based on two-dimensional computational fluid analysis and linearized supersonic inviscid flow theory. Correspondingly, the three-dimension aerodynamic performance relations are presented based on the two-dimensional results. And the additional three-dimensional computation was performed to evaluate the adequacy for the extended relations.

In this paper, two-dimensional(2-D) Finite Difference Time Domain(FDTD) method using the domain decomposition method is proposed. We calculated the electromagnetic scattering field of a two dimensional rectangular Perfect Electric Conductor(PEC) structure using the 2-D FDTD method with Schur complement method as a domain decomposition method. Four domain decomposition and eight domain decomposition are applied for the analysis of the proposed structure. To validate the simulation results, the general 2-D FDTD algorithm for the total domain are applied to the same structure and the results show good agreement with the 2-D FDTD using the domain decomposition method.
