Unified Constitutive Modeling for Low Temperature Austenitic Stainless Steel (저온용 스테인레스강의 통합 구성방정식)

  • 본 논문에서는 저온용 오스테나이트계 스테인리스강(ASS)의 온도 및 변형률 속도의 영향을 고려한 통합 구성 방정식 및 손상 모델을 제안하였다. 저온 영역에서, 304L ASS의 온도 및 변형률 속도별 인장 실험을 시행하였다. 그 결과, 변형 유기 마르텐사이트 상변태에 의해 상변태 유기 소성(TRIP)이 저온에서 현저히 나타났으며 온도 및 변형률 속도의 영향이 지대하였다. 실험 결과를 바탕으로 ASS의 저온 거동 및 특성을 규명하여 수치 모델에 반영하였다. 저온에서 일어나는 2차 경화 현상을 표현하기 위해, Bodner/Partom 점소성 구성 방정식을 수정하고 Tomita/Iwamoto 변형 유기 상변태 모델을 구성 방정식에 적용시켰다. 저온 연성 파단 현상을 표현하기 위해, Bodner/Chan 손상모델을 수정하여 접목시켰다. 제안된 모델을 유한요소 프로그램에 탑재시키고, 온도 및 변형률 속도 의존 재료 정수를 결정하였다. 저온 영역에서, 온도 및 변형률 속도별 재료 거동을 시뮬레이션하고 이를 실험 결과와 비교 및 검증하였다.

  • Corrosion fatigue crack propagation behavior of duplex stainless steel weldments in substitute ocean water was investigated to evalulate effects of micro-structural change and residual stresses. Fatigue crack propagation rate was found influenced markedly .alpha./.gamma. phase ratio but little by residual stresses. Fatigue crack propagation rate is higher in the corrosive environment than in room atmosphere. The crack propagation rate estimated by the measurement of striation spacing was higher than that, obtained by crack length measurement in low .DELTK.K region. At hight .DELTK.K region, however, both crack propagation rates were found to be identical.

  • The multiaxial fatigue test under in-phase and out-of$.$phase load were performed to study what degradation phenomenon affects fatigue life with virgin and 3600 hrs degraded materials. The various kind of fatigue data fur fatigue life prediction were acquired under pure axial and pure torsional load of fully reversal condition. The models which was investigated are: 1) the von Mises equivalent strain range, 2) the critical shear plane approach method of Fatemi-Socie(FS) parameter, 3) the modified Smith-Watson-Topper(SWT) parameter. The result showed that, fatigue life by material degradation are decreased and life prediction which was used the FS parameter is not conservative but the best result.

  • The effect of the substitution of Tungsten(W) for Molybdenum(Mo) on the creep behaviour of 22Cr-5Ni duplex stainless steel(DSS) has been investigated. Creep tests were carried out at $600^{\circ}C\;and\;650^{\circ}C$. Intermetallic ${\sigma}$ phase is precipitated during creep at $650^{\circ}C$, at which creep rupture time was much lower compared with at $600^{\circ}C$. The substitution of W for Mo in the duplex stainless steel was known to retard the formation of ${\sigma}$ phase. Minimum creep rate and creep rupture time, however, were hardly influenced by the substitution of 2wt.% W. An ultrasonic measurement for the creep specimens has been carried out for the evaluation of creep damage. The sound velocity increases propotionally with the increase of creep rupture time at $600^{\circ}C$ of creep temperature. On the contrary, the sound velocity decreases with the increase of rupture time at $650^{\circ}C$, which can be correlated with the microstructural evolution during creep.

  • The brazing of duplex stainless steels which is an essential process for rocket engine manufacturing has been investigated on bonding phenomena and shear strength. The UNS32550 was used for base metal, and the MBF-50 was used for insert metal. Brazing was carried out under the various conditions (brazing temperature : 1473K, 1498K, holding time : 0, 0.3, 0.9, 1.8 ks). There were various phases in the joint because of reaction between liquid insert metal and base metal, In the early stage, BN is formed in the bonded interlayer and base metal near the bonded layer. Cr nitride is formed in the bonded interlayer. The amount of BN and Cr nitride decrease with the increase of holding time. Superior shear strength of 550MPa is obtained by restraining the formation of nitride.
