주기적인 패턴 유리 기판을 사용한 비정질 실리콘 박막 태양전지의 효율 향상에 관한 연구 (Conversion Efficiency Enhancement of a-Si:H Thin-Film Solar Cell Using Periodic Patterned Substrate)

  • 본 연구에서는 주기적인 3차원 패턴이 형성된 유리기판을 사용하여 비정질 실리콘 박막 태양전지를 제작하였다. 주기적인 패턴은 일반적인 전도성 투명 산화막(TCO: Trasparent Conductive Oxide) 표면의 불규칙 패턴과 비교하여 더 효율적인 광포획을 가능하게 한다. 태양전지 제작 전 광특성 전산모사를 통하여 주기적인 패턴 유리 기판의 광학적 특성을 알아보았다. 비정질 실리콘 박막 태양전지의 제작은 PECVD를 이용하여 구면 패턴이 형성된 유리기판을 이용하여 제작되었으며, 인공 태양광 조사장치를 이용하여 제작된 태양전지의 성능 평가를 진행하였다. 태양전지 전산모사 결과와 실험 결과들을 비교 분석하여 주기적인 패턴 유리 기판을 이용한 비정질 실리콘 박막 태양전지의 효율향상 가능성을 확인하였다.

혼성 예측 피라미드 호환 부호화 기법 (On the Hybrid Prediction Pyramid Compatible Coding Technique)

  • Inthis paper, we investigate the compatible coding technique, which receives much interest ever since the introduction of HDTV. First, attempts have been made to analyze the theoretical transform coding gains for various hierarchical decomposition techniques, namely subband, pyramid and DCT-based decomposition techniques. It is shown that the spatical domain techniques proide higher transform coding gains than the DCT-based coding technique. Secondly, we compare the performance of these spatial domain techniques, in terms of the PSNR versus various rate allocations to each layer. Based on these analyses, it is believed that the pyramid decomposition is more appropriate for the compatible coding. Also in this paper, we propose a hybrid prediction pyramid coding technique, by combining the spatio-temporal prediction in MPEG-2[3] and the adaptive MC(Motion Compensation)[1]. In the proposed coding technigue, we also employ an adaptive DCT coefficient scanning technique to exploit the direction information of the 2nd-layer signal. Through computer simulations, the proposed hybrid prediction with adaptive scanning technuque shows the PSNR improvement, by about 0.46-1.78dB at low 1st-layer rate(about 0.1bpp) over the adaptive MC[1], and by about 0.33-0.63dB at high 1st-layer rate (about 0.32-0.43bpp) over the spatio-temporal prediction[3].

PAL 표준 지역에 적합한 8VSB 송수신 시스템 설계 (A Design of 8VSB Transmission System for Use in PAL Standard)

  • 디지털 지상파 TV 방송 규격을 미국의 8VSB 방식과 유럽의 OFDM 방식이 국제 표준화되고 있다. 아날로그 NTSC 방식을 근간으로 해서 표준화된 미국의 8VSB 방식을 PAL 방식을 쓰고 있는 지역에 적용시킬 때 생기는 중요한 문제점은 대역폭과 비디오, 컬러, 오디오 캐리어의 위치가 달라서 동일 채널 PAL 간섭이 발생한다는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 이를 해결하기 위해 7가지 PAL 방식을 대역폭에 따라 세 부류로 나누고 각 부류에 알맞게 동일 채널 PAL 간섭 제거 필터인 콤 필터를 설계함으로써 동일 채널 PAL 간섭을 제거할 수 있는 새로운 시스템인 PAL-8VSB를 제안하였다. 동일 채널 PAL 간섭이 있는 채널 환경에서 제안된 방식의 전문모의실험을 통하여 콤 필터를 사용했을 경우 TOV(Threshold Of Visibility)를 만족시키기 위한 D/U 비(Desired/Undersired ratio)가 약 9dB 만큼 개선이 됨을 확인하였다.

  • In the first paper of this research$^{(1)}$. a new time series method. directional ARMAX (dARMAX) model-based approach. was proposed for rotordynamics identification. The dARMAX processes complex-valued signals, utilizing the complex modal testing theory which enables the separation of the backward and forward modes in the two-sided frequency domain and makes effective modal parameter identification possible. to account for the dynamic characteristics inherent in rotating machinery. In this second part. an evaluation of its performance characteristics based on both simulated and experimental data is presented. Numerical simulations are carried out to show that the method. a complex time series method. successfully implements the complex modal testing in the time domain. and it is superior in nature to the conventional ARMAX and the frequency-domain methods in the estimation of the modal parameters for isotropic and weakly anisotropic rotor systems. Experiments are carried out to demonstrate the applicability and the effectiveness of the dARMAX model-based approach, following the proposed fitting strategy. for the rotordynamics identification.

  • 본 연구에서는 희토류 자석편을 이용한 이중 회전자를 갖는 축방향 자속형 브러시리스 DC 전동기를 설계한다. 이러한 종류의 전동기는 반경방향 자속형에 비해 축방향 길이가 짧고 조립이 용이한 장점이 있다. 충분한 토크를 얻기 위해서 NdFeB 자석이 이용되며 생산 비용을 고려하여 자석은 세그먼트로 만들어 진다. 이 전동기를 설계하기 위해 자기 등가회로 모델이 이용되었고, 정확한 파라미터를 얻기 위해 3차원 유한요소법을 이용하여 공극 자속밀도를 구하였다. 최적화된 설계 변수들은 유전 알고리즘을 이용하여 구하였다. 시뮬레이션결과로부터 자석에 따른 설계의 지침과 타당성을 확인하였다.

Wind Turbine Placement Optimization at the Catholic University of Pusan Using 3-D Drone Mapping

  • To reduce pollution, decrease the production of carbon dioxide, and to maintain a secure supply of energy, interest continues to grow in the area of renewable energy especially since there is a finite supply of cheap oil. Wind energy is one of the most viable options to consider and supply part of the energy needed to reduce dependence on foreign oil. However, it is difficult to predict the wind speed in an environment with many obstacles such as buildings and trees and getting accurate dimensions of those obstacles is difficult particularly on sloped mountainous terrain. In this study a drone was used to create a 3-D map of the campus of the Catholic University of Pusan. The dimensions and elevations for the 3-D map were used to make a model of the school campus in the CFD program Envi-met. Simulations were run for five different wind directions and 4 different elevations to find the location that would give the highest electrical output for a wind turbine. When considering all of these variables it was found that the optimal location was above the Student Union which had a 40% higher wind speed and could produce 274% more electrical power than the original wind speed.

On the origin of escape fractions of ionizing radiation from star-forming galaxies at high redshift

  • The physical origin of low escape fractions of ionizing radiation derived from Lyman-break galaxies (LBGs) at z ~ 3 - 4 is a puzzle in the theory of reionization. We perform idealized disk galaxy simulations to investigate how galactic properties, such as metallicity and gas mass, affect the escape of Lyman continuum (LyC) photons using radiation-hydrodynamic code RAMSES-RT, with strong stellar feedback. We find that the luminosity-weighted escape fraction from a metal-poor (Z=0.002) galaxy embedded in a halo of mass Mh ~ 1011 M is 〈f3Desc〉 ~ 8%. However, when the gas metallicity is increased to Z=0.02, the escape fraction is significantly reduced to 〈f3Desc〉 ~ 1%, as young stars are enshrouded by their birth clouds for a longer period of time. On the other hand, increasing the gas mass by a factor of 5 leads to 〈f3Desc〉 ~ 4%, as LyC photons are only moderately absorbed by the thicker disk. Our experiments seem to suggest that high metallicity is primarily responsible for the low escape fractions observed from LBGs, supporting the scenario in which the escape fraction has a negative correlation with halo mass. Indeed, our simulated galaxy with the typical metallicity of LBGs (Z=0.006) shows the relative escape fraction of 8%, consistent with recent observations of galaxies with M1500 = -20.

단자속 양자 DFFC와 Inverter의 설계와 측정 (Design and Measurement of SFQ DFFC and Inverter)

  • We have designed and measured a SFQ(Single Flux Quantum) DFFC and an Inverter(NOT) for superconducting ALU(Arithmetic Logic Unit) development. To optimize the circuit, we used Julia, XIC, and L meter for circuit simulations and circuit layouts. The Inverter was consisted of a D Flip-Flop, a data input, a clock input and a data output. If a data pulse arrives at the inverter, then the output reads ‘0’ (no output pulse is produced) at the next clock period. If there is no input data pulse, it reads out ‘1’(output pulse is produced). The DFFC was consisted of a D flip-Flop, an Inverter, a Data in, a Clock in and two outputs. If a data pulse arrives at the DFFC circuit, then the output2 reads ‘1’ at the next clock period, otherwise it reads out ‘1’ to output1. Operation of the fabricated chip was performed at the liquid helium temperature and at the frequencies of 1KHz.

3D 어패럴 캐드 시스템으로 제작된 가상의복의 소재물성별 실물 재현도에 관한 연구 (A Study on Expressivity of Virtual Clothing made of 3D Apparel CAD System according to the Physical Properties of Fabric)

  • This research was conducted to provide basic data to improve expressivity required for virtual clothing to replace actual clothing. For the experiment, 6 materials were selected and 12(2 kinds of length) actual flared skirts were made. At the same time, simulations were carried out on OptiTex Runway 12.0 for 36(12 kinds of skirts $\times$ KES, FTU, KES weight/10) kinds of virtual flared skirts, which were applied with the measured property values (thickness, weight, bending, shear, friction, and stretch). Also, the study compared and analyzed the wearing images, silhouette overlapping images, and skirt length measurements of the actual and virtual skirts put on a dummy. As a result, the actual skirts showed clear distinction for each material. In contrast, virtual 1 and 2 expressed fabric 3 in the most similar way, but could not recreate the uniform, soft, and natural flare shape of the actual skirts in general. Virtual 3 formed natural flares as those of the actual skirts, and expressed fabric 1, 5, and 6 in a similar way. However, virtual 3 had too much volume and barely showed any distinction for each material. All of virtual 1, 2, and 3 expressed different flare shapes on the front and back sides of the skirt similarly to the actual skirts, and had a good visual expression for the color and texture of the materials. However, they could not effectively express the elasticity and fabric sagging in the bias direction.

인공송신원 전자탐사 자료의 효율적인 3차원 모델링 (Efficient 3D Modeling of CSEM Data)

  • 유한요소법을 이용한 3차원 모델링은 모형에 대한 기하학적 유연성에도 불구하고 대형 연립방정식에 대한 계산이 필요하여 실용성에는 많은 제약이 있었다. 본 연구에서는 최근 컴퓨터와 수치해석기술을 바탕으로 직접해법과 반복해법을 선택적으로 사용한 효율적인 유한요소 3차원 모델링을 구현하였다. 직접해법인 PARDISO는 멀티코어 계산환경에서 병렬 연산을 이용하여 계산속도를 현저히 감소시킬 수 있었고 특히 단딜 주파수 다중 송신의 계산에서 최대의 계산효율을 보였다. 소규모 메모리 환경에서는 BiCGSTAB(1)이 다른 반복해법들에 비해 빠르고 안정적으로 수치해를 계산하였다. 효율적인 3차원 모델링은 주어진 문제와 상황에 적합한 해법을 선택적으로 사용함으로써 가능하다. 모델링에는 다양한 형태의 인공송신원이 고려되어 있으며 향후 3차원 역산의 효율적인 엔진으로 활용할 수 있다.
