  • This paper summarizes the implementation of lane recognition using OpenCV, one of the open source computer vision libraries. The Linux operating system Rasbian(r18.03.13) was installed on the ARM processor-based Raspberry Pi 3 board, and Raspberry Pi Camera was used for image processing. In order to realize the lane recognition, Canny Edge Detection and Hough Transform algorithm implemented in OpenCV library was used and RANSAC algorithm was used to prevent shaking of vanishing point and to detect only the desired straight line. In addtion, the DC motor and the Servo motor were controlled so that the vehicle would run according to the detected lane.

  • This paper deals with the relationship between the order structure and topological structure in the historical point of view. We first investigate how the order structure has developed along with the set theory and logic in the second half of the nineteenth century. After the general topology has emerged in the beginning of the twentieth century, two disciplines of the order theory and topology give each other a great deal of effect for their development via various dualities, compactifications by maximal filter spaces and Alexandroff's specialization order, which form eventually a fundamental setting for the development of the category theory or functor theory.

  • Category theory gives a convenient language for the study of mathematical structures besides its own study. In this paper, we investigate how the abstract structure theory emerged in 1930s affects the study in Topology and eventually becomes a rudiment for the category theory. Moreover, various extensions and universal mapping problems were put in their proper perspective as reflections by the category theory and by its duality principle, coreflections become an interesting subject in Topology, both of which give rise to a new discipline of the categorical topology.

Volatile Flavor Components in Various Varieties of Grape(Vitis vinifera L.) (포도의 품종별 휘발성 향기성분 분석)

  • Volatile flavor components in three grape(Vitis vinifera L.) varieties were extracted by SDE(Simultaneous steam distillation and extraction) method using the mixture of n-pentane and diethylether(1:1, v/v) as an extract solvent. Grapes of the following varieties were studies : Blackolympia, Campbell and Delaware. The volatile extracts were analyzed by GC-FID and GC/MS. The totals of 77, 72 and 74 volatile flavor components were identified in Blackolympia, Campbell and Delaware, respectively. (E)-2-Hexenal(20.36%), diethylacetal(18.03%), hexanal and ethyl acetate were contained as the main compounds of Blackolympia. In Campbell, ethyl acetate(30.81%) was relatively more abundant than other compounds and among functional groups, C$\_$6/ aldehydes and alcohols were major constituents of the extract. On the other hand, in Delaware, alcohols was the major constituent group and (E)-2-hexenal(21.07%) and (E)-2-hexena1-ol(19.43%) were the main compounds. All of three grape varieties contained a large amount of hexanal, (E)-2-hexenal, hexanol, (E)-2-hexen-1-ol, thus C$\_$6/-compounds proved to be major volatile components of grape and small amount of terpenols were only detected from Delaware.

Study on Community Characteristics of Birds migrating to Seamangum Reclaimed Area (논문 - 새만금 간척지역에 도래하는 조류 군집 특성에 관한 연구)

  • This study was conducted to clarify community characteristics of waterbirds migrating to Seamangum area from 2002 to 2009. Total maximum count of waterbirds observed at Saemangum area was 686,337 individuals of 176 species. 158 species and 548,989 individuals were recorded on Mangyung Estuary and 158 species and 213,794 individuals were recorded on Dongjin Estuary. Dominance species were Baikal Teals Anas formosa (40.80%), Great Knots Calidris tenuirostris (18.03%), Mallards Anas platyrhynchos (11.67%) and Dunlins Calidris alpina(6.02%). Shorerbirds were declined and waterfowl were increased during survey periods. Natural monuments and endangered birds were 27 species.

Depolymerization Kinetics of Polyethylene Terephthalate by Ethylene Glycol (에틸렌 글리콜에 의한 폴리에틸렌테레프탈레이트의 해중합 속도론)

  • Poly(ethylene terephthalate)(PET) was glycolyzed by ethylene glycol(EG) at the various mole ratio of ethylene terephthalate(ET) group to EG, reaction time, temperature, and pressure in the presence of sodium acetate as a catalyst(0.5 wt.% of PET). The glycolyzed products were analyzed by hydroxyl value measurement and high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC). Under atmospheric pressure, PET was depolymerized to an equilibrium after the reaction time of 10 hrs. On the other hand, equilibrium was attained within 2 hrs under elevated pressure. The components of glycolyzed product were BHET and higher oligomers, mostly dimer and primer. It was found that the rate of depolymerization is dependent on reaction condition, such as mole ratio of ET : EG, reaction time, temperature and pressure. Glycolytic depolymerization rate of PET is proportional to the concentrations of ester group of PET and hydroxyl group of EG. The activation energies of glycolytic depolymerization under ambient, 12, 25, and 50 arm were 22.03, 19.41, 18.03, and 15.34 kcal/mol for the mole ratio of 1:3(ET : EG), respectively.

Prevalence of Diabetes Mellitus and Associated Diseases in Yeungnam Province Area (영남지방에서의 당뇨병 유병율과 이에 관련돈 질환의 빈도에 관한 연구)

  • To know the prevalence of the diabetes mellitus and associated diseases, we analysed the data of the 3,088 subjects who were examined with the Computed Automated Medi-Screening Test System which consisted of 65 parameters including blood glucose determination fasting and one hour after 100g of oral glucose load. We grouped the subjects by the modified criteria of National Diabetic Data Group. Followings are the results of the various analysis : 1. The prevalence of diabetes mellitus and impaired glucose tolerance is 2.27% and 18.26% respectively. 2. The prevalence of diabetes mellitus is 2.63% In male and 1.66% in female. There is no statistically significant difference between male and female. 3. There is tendency of increasing prevalence of diabetes mellitus as the age increases. From second to eighth decade, the prevalence of diabetes mellitus Increases as 0.0, 0.45, 0.67, 2.28, 3.47, 5.36, 10.00% respectively. 4. There is no statistically significant difference of prevalence of obesity between normal and diabetes: that is, 18.03%, 22.86% respectively.($P{\geq}0.1$) 5. There is no statistically significant difference of prevalence of impaired glucose tolerance and diabetes between non-obese and obses group. ($P{\geq}0.1$) 6. There is statistically significant increases of frequency of proteinuria, azotemia, hypertension as the glucose tolerance decreases. ($P{\leq}0.05$)

Characteristics of Al-Pillared Clay Synthesized from Bentonite and the Adsorption Properties for Phosphate Ion (벤토나이트로부터 합성한 Al-층간가교점토의 특성과 인산이온의 흡착성)

  • Al-pillared clay was synthesized by constructing pillars of aluminum oxides at the interlayer of montmorillonite in bentonite. XRD, DTA and chemical analyses of Al-pillared clay were performed to examine mineralogical properties. Batch adsorption experiments were also conducted to determine the adsorption properties of this synthesized clay for phosphate ions. XRD analyses showed that the interlayer space of Al-pillared clay expanded to 18.03 $\AA$ at room temperature and shifted to $17 \AA$ after heating to $550^{\circ}C$. A small change in interlayer space after heating indicates high thermal stability. The interlayer expansion by glycerol was also very small. From DTA analyses, pillared clay showed the characteristic endothermic peaks at 270 and $420^{\circ}C$ , which might be caused by dehydration in framework of pillars between interlayers. Adsorption experiment revealed that Al-pillared clay had an excellent adsorption capacity to the phosphate ions, whereas montmorillonite had very low adsorption capacity to phosphate ions. In phosphate solution concentration up to 300 mg/L, 2 g of pillared clay could uptake almost 100% of phosphate ions from 20 mL of solution. After heat treatment of the phosphate adsorbed pillared clay at 50$0^{\circ}C$ to remove phosphate, the calcined pillared clay could adsorb phosphate ions with a little decreased adsorption efficiency. This fact indicates that Al-pillared clay can be recycled for the adsorption of phosphate ions.

An Analysis of the Nutritional Quality of Spreadable Liver Product (Spreadable 돼지 간제품의 영양학적 품질)

  • This study was carried out to evaluate the nutritional properties of spreadable liver product. The composition of fresh hog liver used as raw material was 70.5% moisture, 5.2% fat, 20.3% protein and 1.2% ash. The composition of the spreadable liver product was 55.3% moisture, 19.4% protein, 21.6% fat and 3.7% ash. The total amino acid content of fresh liver was 18.69 g/100 g with glutamic acid at the highest level of 2.57 g/100 g. The total amino acid content of liver product was 18.03 g/100 g with glutamic acid at 2.28 g/100 g. The essential amino acid content was found to be 42% of total amino acids. The fatty acid analysis of fresh liver revealed oleic acid to be present at the highest level of 28% in the unsaturated fatty acid portion, and palmitic acid to be highest at 20.7% in the saturated fatty acid portion. The oleic acid content of the liver product was 40%, and the palmitic acid content was 20.4%. The level of cholesterol in fresh liver was 178.0 mg/100 g compared to 118.0 mg/100 g in the liver product. Regarding mineral analysis, the K and P contents of fresh liver were 362.2 mg/100 g and 339.1 mg/100 g, respectively, and 336.1 mg/100 g and 213.3 mg/100 g in the liver product, respectively. Many other minerals including Na, Mg, Ca and Fe were present in the product. Based on these results, the spreadable liver product made with hog liver was found to be a quality food with nutritional benefits and that is easy to consume.

Purification and Characterization of Fish Oil Obtained from Hydrolysates of Mackerel (Scomber japonicus) By-products (고등어(Scomber japonicus) 부산물 가수 분해물로부터 분리된 유지의 정제 및 특성)

  • This study aimed to investigate an effective method of purifying oil from hydrolysates of mackerel by-products. A hydrolyzed sample was separated into lipids and other material. After degumming of crude lipids with 6% citric acid solution, the phosphorous content (45 mg/kg) decreased to 5.8 mg/kg, and the acid value (18.03 mg /g) decreased to 1.19 mg KOH/g. Following the addition of 8% sodium hydroxide solution, the peroxide value (30.25 meq/kg) dropped to 3.18 meq/kg, and the chromaticity decreased from 0.488 nm to 0.057 nm. Bleaching was performed by adding 5% activated charcoal for 60℃ for 20 min under vacuum conditions. After bleaching, the acid value was 0.17 mg KOH/g, and the peroxide value was 1.21 meq/kg, but the chromaticity was not changed remarkably (0.062 nm). Crystallization was conducted to increase the amount of unsaturated fatty acids. After crystallization, the total amount of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) was 228.83 mg/g. The results suggest that the product can be used as an omega-3 fatty acid resource for functional food.
