Computational Modal Analyses for the Propellant Tank and Small-Scaled First-Stage Models of Liquid-Propulsion Launch Vehicles (우주 발사체 추진제 탱크 및 축소 1단 모델의 전산 모드 해석 연구)

  • This research aims to establish the finite-element modeling techniques for computational modal analyses of liquid propellants and flange joints of launch-vehicle structures. MSC.NASTRAN is used for the present computational modal analyses of the liquid-propellant tank and the small-scaled first-stage model. By means of the correlation between the measured and computed natural frequencies, the finite modeling techniques for liquid propellants and flange joints of launch-vehicle structures are established appropriately. This modal analysis using the virtual-mass method predicts well the bell mode of the liquid-propellant tank containing liquid. In addition, the present computation using RBE2 elements for modeling of flange joints predicts the first and second bending-mode frequencies within a relative error of 10%, which is better than the measured frequencies obtained from the modal test, for the small-scaled first-stage model containing liquid.

  • Comparisons are made between the first hyperpolarizability $\beta$ of pure N-(4-nitrophenyl)-(L)-prolinol (NPP) and poly (methyl metacrylate) (PMMA) or poly-p-(phenylene terephthalates) (PPT) with NPP side group determined with two different methods, electric-field-induced second-harmonic generation (EFISHG) and hyper-Rayleigh scattering (HRS) methods. Both techniques yield the same values within the experimental errors for pure NPP and NPP-PMMA in 1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane solution. But the measured results of NPP-PPT polymer in 1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane solution are showing that the first hyperpolarizability was enhanced with an enhencement of a factor 9.7 in EFISHG and a factor 2.4 in HRS relative to pure NPP. These results indicate that nonlinear optical chromophores organized as side groups of polymers with a rigid backbone contribute coherently to the secondorder nonlinear response of the polymer in the dc electric field as polar polymer chains. hains.

  • The heterogeneity of crop transpiration is important to clearly understand the microclimate mechanisms and to efficiently handle the water resource in greenhouses. A computational fluid dynamic program (Fluent CFD version 6.2) was developed to study the internal climate and crop transpiration distributions of greenhouses. Additionally, the global solar radiation model and a crop heat exchange model were programmed together. Those models programmed using $C^{++}$ software were connected to the CFD main module using the user define function (UDF) technology. For the developed CFD validity, a field experiment was conducted at a $17{\times}6 m^2$ plastic-covered mechanically ventilated single-span greenhouse located at Pusan in Korea. The CFD internal distributions of air temperature, relative humidity, and air velocity at 1m height were validated against the experimental results. The CFD computed results were in close agreement with the measured distributions of the air temperature, relative humidity, and air velocity along the greenhouse. The averaged errors of their CFD computed results were 2.2%,2.1%, and 7.7%, respectively.

Modeling Residual Chlorine and THMs in Water Distribution System (배급수계통에서 잔류염소 및 THMs 분포 예측에 관한 연구)

  • This study suggested a method for prediction of residual chlorine and THMs in water distribution system by measurement of residual chlorine, THMs, and other parameters, estimation of chlorine decay coefficients and THM formation coefficients, and simulation of water qualities using pipe network analysis. Bulk decay coefficients of parallel first-order were obtained by bottle tests, and pipe wall decay coefficients of first-order were estimated through evaluation of 5 models, which showed the lowest values of 0.03 for MAE(mean absolute error) and 0.037 MAE in comparison with the observed in field. And bottle tests were conducted to model first-order reaction of THM formation by nonlinear least square regression and the resultant coefficients were compared with the observed in field. As a result, the coefficients of determination$(R^2)$ for the observed and the predicted values were 0.98 in September and 0.82 in November, and the formation of THMs was predicted by modeling.

  • The globe valve is a linear motion valve that is designed primarily to stop, start, and regulate flow. The disk of a globe valve can be removed totally from the flow path or it can completely close the flow path. In this study, numerical analysis using ANSYS-CFX was initially performed to predict the flow coefficient and build a prototype model of a globe valve. The flow coefficient is the volume of water at $15.6^{\circ}C$ that will flow per minute through a valve with a pressure drop of 1 psi across the valve. In other words, it is an important factor for determining the size of the valve. From the analysis results, the fluid flux of water and flow coefficient of the valve were extracted. From the numerical results, a prototype of ultra-fine precision control valve, which can regulate the fluid flow of range 0 ~ 0.1 gal per min, was developed. The experimental results were compared with the numerical results using the flow coefficient ($C_v$) graph. From the comparative results, the flow coefficient ($C_v$) error percentage between the numerical and experimental results was very low, which is acceptable, proving that the proposed prototype model is convincing. In addition, it is possible to predict the flow coefficient using only numerical analysis.

  • This paper focuses on the development of analytical models for estimating the changes in saturation flow rates (SFR) at the stop-lines of a signalized intersection due to the existence of nearby work-zones, and thereby calculating the prevailing capacity values for specific lane groups. Major changes were incorporated in the logics of previous models and significant revisions have been made to secure the accuracy and simplicity. Furthermore, much attention was paid to model validation by making comparisons to both extensive simulation results and empirical data from various sites. It was found that SFRs are highly sensitive to the location of work-zones, the distance to each work-zone from the stop-line of a concerned approach, the number of lanes open and closed, and the effective green time. Using such geometric and operating conditions that constitute work-zone environment, the proposed models successfully estimated SFR values with a miniscule margin of error.

  • In this paper, level instrument is implemented using beat frequency for distance measurement which means the difference between Tx and Rx signal frequency from FMCW Radar Level Transmitter. Beat frequency is analyzed through Fast Fourier Transform of which frequency precision can be improved by applying Zoom FFT. Distance precision is improved from 146.5[mm] to 5[mm] using the advantage of Zoom FFT which can raise the frequency precision without changing the sampling frequency or FFT point number to be fixed in the beginning of designing signal processing. Also, measurement error can be reduced within 2[mm] by incresing the FFT points using the method of Spline interpolation. For verifying the effectiveness of this Zoom FFT to FMCW Radar Level Transmitter, test bench is made to measure the distance for every 1[mm] between 700[mm] and 2000[mm] and measurement error can be checked in the range of ${\pm}2$[mm].

  • 미래 정보와 시대에서 중추적인 역할을 할 광관련 멀티미디어 장비들은 최근 관련 산업계에서 주목을 받기 시작하고 있고 특히 기존 VTR(Video Tape Recorder) 시장을 대체할 차세대 DVDR(Digital Video Disk Recorder)는 기술전쟁이라고 할 정도로 선진 기업의 연구가 치열해지고 있다. DVDR 시스템에서는 필요한 정보들을 레이저빔을 이용한 광학신호로 바꾸어 광디스크에 기록, 재생하는 광픽업이 절대적으로 필요하게 된다. 그런데 광픽업의 위치추종기구인 Actuator는 정확한 위치추종(.+-.1.$\mu$m 오차이내)을 할 수 있는 성능이 요구되며 서보의 특성상 20KHz 이하에서 불필요한 모우드가 가진되지 않는 정밀부품이어야 하므로 Actuator 각 부품의 동적인 특성을 명확히 규명할 필요가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 우선 Actuator 각 부품과 가동부 전체의 중량 및 진동해석을 통해 동특성을 조사하였다. 그리고 Actuator의 중요한 기본성능중 하나인 구동감도 확보여부를 검토할 필요가 있기 때문에 유한요소법 프로그램인 ANSYS를 이용하여 자기회로 부분에 대한 해석을 구하였다. 또한 가동부와 자기회로 등 하위부품을 조립하는 과정에서 발생하는 조립오차로 인해 불필요한 공진과 회전형상이 야기될 수 있으므로 동특성 및 문제점 파악을 위한 민감도 분석이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 가동부의 관성 모멘트 값과 강체에 대한 일반식을 이용한 자체 프로그램을 작성하여 조립공차를 구하였다. 이와같은 과정을 통해 구해진 설계값을 바탕으로 실제 제작된 Actuator에 대해서는 비접촉식 측정방법을 통해 동특성값을 측정하였고 이를 해석값과 상호 비교하였다.동강성행렬법(dynamic stiffness matrix method)을 이용하여 해석하고자 한다. 수준임이 입증되었다. 본 연구의 결과를 토대로우리나라 젊고 건강한 남성에게 적합한 무게상수는 작업자군에 대하여 25.05kg, 학생군에 대하여 20.24kg 으로 나타나 이는 미국 NIOSH 안전기준과 대체로 일치함을 발견하였다.ive structures utilized in Client/server architecture for distribution and cooperative processing of application between server and client this study presents two different data management methods under the Client/server environment; one is "Remote Data Management Method" which uses file server or database server and. the other is "Distributed Data Management Method" using distributed database management system. Vehicle-Bridge Interaction Analysis of Railway Bridges by Using Conventional Trains (기존선 철도차량을 이용한 철도교의 상호작용해석)

  • In this study, the numerical method is presented, which can consider the various train types and can solve the equations of motion for a vehicle-bridge interaction analysis by non-iteration procedure through formulating the coupled equations of motion. The coupled equations of motion for the vehicle-bridge interaction are solved by the Newmark ${\beta}$ of a direct integration method, and by composing the effective stiffness matrix and the effective force vector according to a analysis step, those can be solved with the same manner of the solving procedure of equilibrium equations in static analysis. Also, the effective stiffness matrix is reconstructed by the Skyline method for increasing the analysis effectiveness. The Cholesky's matrix decomposition scheme is applied to the analysis procedure for minimizing the numerical errors that can be generated in directly calculating the inverse matrix. The equations of motion for the conventional trains are derived, and the numerical models of the conventional trains are idealized by a set of linear springs and dashpots with 16 degrees of freedom. The bridge models are simplified by the 3 dimensional space frame element which is based on the Euler-Bernoulli theory. The rail irregularities of vertical and lateral directions are generated by the PSD functions of the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA). The results of the vehicle-bridge interaction analysis are verified by the experimental results for the railway plate girder bridges of a span length with 12 m, 18 m, and the experimental and analytical data are applied to the low pass filtering scheme, and the basis frequency of the filtering is a 2 times of the 1st fundamental frequency of a bridge bending.

분포형 수문매개변수 산정을 위한 GIS의 활용 - 금강상류유역을 중심으로 -

  • 강우시 유역 내에서 발생하는 수문특성을 구명하고자 하는 연구는 지속적으로 진행되고 있다. 특히 최근 몇년간 집중호우로 인한 홍수피해가 매우 실각한 수준으로 발생하였고, 이에 지방 소하천을 포함한 전국의 하천정비사업이 새로운 설계홍수빈도를 토대로 진행되고 있다. 우리나라의 강우특성은 여름철에 편중되는 특성을 지니고 있어 홍수시의 홍수방어 대책 등 치수에 많은 어려움이 있는 것이 현실이다. 집중호우로 인한 피해는 전 세계적인 문제로 제기되고 있으며, 이에 강우-유출 관계를 규명하고자 하는 노력이 지속적으로 이루어지고 있다. 강우-유출과정은 시간적, 공간적 다변성을 지닌 수문학적 인자에 의해 좌우되기 때문에 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 다년간의 강우-유출 자료를 바탕으로 알고리즘을 생성하고, 이를 바탕으로 정확한 모의가 가능한 수문 모형 및 시스템들을 개발하는데 노력을 기울이고 있다(심순보 등, 1998, 신사철 등, 2002). 그러나 이러한 모형들은 많은 매개변수와 다양한 정보들을 필요로 하게 되어 이들을 처리하는데 많은 어려움이 따른다. 따라서 최근에는 GIS(Geographical Information System)를 활용하여 유역과 분수계를 결정하고 하천형태학적인 특성인자를 추출하는 자동화된 유역정보 추출기술 개발에 대한 관심이 집중되고 있다(Bhaskar, 1992, Francisco, 1995, Yeon, 1999). 이에 본 연구에서는 GIS기법을 이용하여 지형자료로부터 하천연장, 배수면적, 지체시간, 도달시간 등 유역내의 분포형 수문매개변수를 추출하였고 추출된 매개변수를 통해 강우-유출식을 적용하여 분포형 유출량을 산정하는데 활용하고자 한다.ansverse Mercatro) 지구좌표계의 DEM 자료로 변환하였다. 또한 유역의 고도차를 이용한 흐름특성 분석을 위해 수치고도자료를 이용하여 유역흐름특성을 분석할 수 있는 TOPAZ(Topographic PArameteri-Zation) 프로그램을 이용하였다. TOPAZ 프로그램을 통해 분석된 각 격자별 분포형 수문 매개변수는 적합한 관계식을 통해 분포형 유출량을 모의하는데 적용된다.다 정확한 유입량 예측이 가능할 것으로 사료된다.이 작은 오차를 발생하였으며, 전체적으로 퍼프 모형이 입자모형보다는 훨씬 적은 수의 계산을 통해서도 작은 오차를 나타낼 수 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그러나 Gaussian 분포를 갖는 퍼프모형은 전단흐름에서의 긴 유선형 농도분포를 모의할 수 없었고, 이에 관한 오차는 전단계수가 증가함에 따라 비선형적으로 증가하였다. 향후, 보다 다양한 흐름영역에서 장${\cdot}$단점 분석 및 오차해석을 수행한 후에 각각의 Lagrangian 모형의 장점만을 갖는 모형결합 방법을 제시할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.mm/$m^{2}$로 감소한 소견을 보였다. 승모판 성형술은 전 승모판엽 탈출증이 있는 두 환아에서 동시에 시행하였다. 수술 후 1년 내 시행한 심초음파에서 모든 환아에서 단지 경등도 이하의 승모판 폐쇄 부전 소견을 보였다. 수술 후 조기 사망은 없었으며, 합병증으로는 유미흉이 한 명에서 있었다. 술 후 10개월째 허혈성 확장성 심근증이 호전되지 않아 Dor 술식을 시행한 후 사망한 예를 제외한 나머지 6명은 특이 증상 없이 정상 생활 중이다 결론: 좌관상동맥 페동맥이상 기시증은 드물기는 하나, 영유
