Estimation of Interstory Drift for Moment Resisting Reinforced Concrete Frames Using Equivalent SDOF System (등가 1자유도계를 이용한 철근콘크리트 골조건물의 층간변위 응답 산정)

  • To evaluate the seismic capacity of a multistorey building structures in performance based seismic design, it is needed to convert MDOF model into equivalent SDOF model. This paper presents predictions for interstory drift of multistorey structures using method of converting a MDOF system into an equivalent SDOF model. The principal objective of this investigation is to evaluate appropriateness of converting method through performing nonlinear time history analysis of a multistory building structures and an equivalent SDOF model. Comparing the interstory drift of multistorey structures calculated by time history analysis and those evaluated by an equivalent SDOF model, the adequacy and the validity of converting method is verified. The conclusion of this study is following; A method of converting a MDOF system into an equivalent SDOF model through the nonlinear time history response analysis is valid. Inelastic first mode shapes are expected to be more accurate than elastic first mode shapes in obtaining interstory drift of multistorey structures from equivalent SDOF model.

  • To evaluate the seismic performance of multistory building structures use an equivalent SDOF model to represent the resistance of the structure to deformation as it respond in its predominant mode. This paper presents a method of converting a MDOF system into an equivalent SDOF model. The principal objective of this investigation is to evaluate appropriateness of converting method through perform nonlinear time history analysis of a multistory building structures and an equivalent SDOF model. The hysteresis rules to be used an equivalent SDOF model is obtained from the pushover analysis. Comparing the peak inelastic response of a moment resisting reinforced concrete frames and an equivalent SDOF model, the adequacy and the validity of the converting method is verified. The conclusion of this study is following; A method of converting a MDOF system into an equivalent SDOF model through the nonlinear time history response analysis is valid. The representative lateral displacement of a moment resisting reinforced concrete frames is close to the height of the first modal participation vector \ulcorner$_1{\beta}$${_1{\mu}}=1$. It can be found that the hysteresis rule of an equivalent SDOF model have influence on the time history response. Therefore, it necessary for selecting hysteresis rules to consider hysteresis characteristics of a moment resisting reinforced concrete frames.

비선형 Normal Mode 진동의 현황과 과제

  • 비선형 진동은 그간 많은 연구를 하여왔으나, 주로 1자유도계에 국한되었으며, 2자유도 이상의 계에서는 아직도 실용성 있는 연구결과는 극히 제한된 상태에 머물러 있다. 최근 약 30여년간 다자유도계의 비선형 normal mode진동은 산발적으로 연구되어 오다가 1966년 Rosenberg교수가 이를 종합 정리하엿으며, 그 이후에도 많은 연구가 계속되고 있다. 본 해설에서는 이 분야의 주요 연구결과를 소개하고 앞으로 다루어져야할 과제에 대하여 설명하고저 한다.

  • 본 연구에서는 주구조물의 진동이 관심있는 주파수 범위내에서 1 자유도계로 근사화될 수 있는 경우, 임의로 선택된 점탄성재료에 대하여 최적튜닝 및 최적댐핑효 과를 얻을 수 있도록 그 형상을 설계하고, 예비변형율을 조절하는 절차를 제시하고, 제안된 방법론을 외팔보와 집중하중으로 구성되는 1 자유도계 및 선반의 공구대에 적 용하여 공진감쇠 및 채터억제효과를 살펴 보았다.

  • 본 논문에서는 최적화기법을 이용하여 모드매개변수를 추정하는 방법을 개발하였다. 최적화기법중 steepest descent method와 Fletcher-Powell method를 1자유도계의 시뮬레이션 데이터에 사용하여 Fletcher-Powell method가 초기값이나 계의 감쇠비에 관계없이 항상 정확한 모드매개변수를 추정함을 밝혀 내었다. 2자유도계의 시뮬레이션 데이터에 적용하였을 때도 본 방법은 정확한 모드매개변수를 추정하였다. 본 방법은 기존의 모드해석방법처럼 실제모드수보다 많은 모드수를 가정할 필요가 없고, 밀집한 모드를 분리하는 능력도 우수하였다. 본 방법을 실험 데이터에 적용하였을 때에도 만족할만한 결과를 나타내었다.

  • 구조물이 과동한 기진력을 받을 때에 구조물의 진동 제어를 위하여 적응형 뱅뱅 제어 알고리듬이 저자들에 의해서 제안된 바 있으며, 이 제어 알고리듬을 1자유도계의 시험 구조물에 적용하여 제어 성능을 실험적으로 확인하였다. 본 논문은 이의 연장으로서 제안된 적응형 뱅뱅 제어 알고리듬을 최상층에 유압식 농동질량 감쇠기가 설치된 다자유도계의 시험 구조물에 적용하여 이의 유용성을 확인하였다. 이를 통하여 제안된 적응형 뱅뱅 제어 알고리듬은 제어 및 전체 구조계의 안전성이 보장되는 가운데 과도항 외부의 기진력을 받는 다자유도계의 구조물의 진동을 제어함에 효과적임을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • Many malfunction take place in container crane spreader due to impact. So we designed a 2 DOF hydraulic impact absorbing equipment to absorb the impact and we studied the change of damping coefficient with respect to the variation of dimensions of oil-Cylinder wail. When we design the dimension of hydraulic cylinder wall considering the displacement on the wall, the value of it over 20m didn't affect the damping coefficient.

  • Higher order nonlinear transfer functions are applied to model the nonlinear responses obtained Inn dynamic analysis of single degree of freedom systems (SDOF) subjected to wave and current loadings. The structural systems are subjected to single harmonic, two wave combination and irregular wave loading. Three different sources of nonlinearities are examined for each of the wave loading condition and it is shown that the nonlinear response appear at the resonance frequencies of the SDOF even when virtually no wave energy exists at those resonance frequencies. Higher order nonlinear transfer functions based on Volterra series representation are used to model the nonlinear responses mainly f3r the flexible systems and clearly shows the degrees of nonlinearity either as quadratic or cubic.

  • On this study, to develop the impact absorbing system for spreader, we operated the dynamic response for models of three types consisting of spring and oil damper by the finite element analysis. Also, in the three types of impact absorbing system, we set the restricted stroke of piston to the static variables and the optimum design was operated to have the minimum value of the reaction force for the impact. As the result, the direct model of two degree of freedom system has lowest value, the model of one degree of freedom system has higher value than that and the parallel model of two degree of freedom system has the highest value. And we studied the effect that the change of spring constant and damping coefficient affect to the reaction force and as the result of the optimum design, we found that reaction force has the lowest value in the each of models.

  • Recent studies have shown that the short time solution of the equation of motion for the rolling of ships is important in deciding the possibility of capsize of ships due to the excessive heel. Since most of known solutions for nonlinear equations of motion are long time or steady periodic solutions, here a simple way is described to get the short time solutions of the Duffing equation, which was chosen for deriving a criterion for the capsize of the ship. With the small external rolling moment, we first assume the state of the small damping and near resonance. Then, for cases when the frequency of the external moment is higher than the resonant one, an inequality was derived as a criterion for the capsize. This gives the range of the initial condition and the magnitude of the external moment which should be avoided for a ship to be safe from capsize. Furthermore, from the linearized equation, it is also shown that a simple and self-explanatory solution can be obtained consistent with that for the case of no damping, which yields the well-known linear growth with time.
