Design of the Anti-sway Controller for a Boom Type Crane Using the LQ Control (LQ 제어를 이용한 붐형 크레인의 흔들림 제어기 설계)

  • An LQ controller design method is proposed for effective anti-sway control of boom type crane in this paper. It is important for high productivity that the sway of a load is controlled as fast as possible when the trolley arrives to the destination with maximum velocity. To prove the effectiveness of the proposed LQ controller. simulations and experiments using the boom type crane as experimental device is carried out. Tracking performance for a step type reference and robustness for the change of working environment such as the change of load weight and parameters produced by a wire rope and disturbance by the wind arc proved by the experiment. It will be examined that boom type crane can be applied to industrial fields through experiment in this paper.

  • The recent amount of container freight continuously has been increased, but the low efficiency of container crane causes jamming frequently in transportation and cargo handling at port. It is required that the working velocity and safety are improved by control of moving the trolley as quick as possible without large overshoot and any residual swing motion of container at the destination. In this paper, a LQ Fuzzy controller for a container crane is proposed to accomplish an optimal design of improved control system for minimizing the swing motion at destination. In this scheme a mathematical model for the system is obtained in state space form. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed controller is verified through computer simulation.

  • 본 논문은 천정형 크레인의 파라미터 추정과 Fuzzy LMI 제어기법을 이용한 흔들림 억제 제어를 제안한다. 실제 크레인을 제어함에 있어서 크레인의 동적모델링 이외에도 미지의 물리적 매개변수 값을 규정하는 것은 중요한 요소이다. 이러한 점을 고려하여 크레인의 물리적 매개변수를 최소자승추정 방법을 통해 추정하여 크레인 제어의 성능향상을 제공한다. 또한 Fuzzy LMI 제어기법을 적용하여 천정형 크레인의 이동 중 발생하는 흔들림을 제어한다.

  • Yard cranes are very useful equipments for handling of heavy containers. But rope-driven yard cranes must have a little of sway and skew motion because ropes are passive mechanical device. So many researches have been concentrated on anti-sway algorithm controlling trolley speed. These approaches require sway angle. But it is very difficult to know sway angle and its derivative. Therefore control algorithm of trolley speed is not practical in general. On the contrary, control strategy using auxiliary rope is very useful to sway control of yard crane because rope length is shorter than quay-side container cranes. In this paper, we derive equations of motion of trolley system which have anti-sway controller to use auxiliary rope. And we propose the control strategy and analyse the behavior of the proposed system.

  • An image compensating algorithm with high-vibration movement is proposed, using optical flow and the Kalman Filter. The temporal motion vector field is calculated by Optical flow and suspicious vectors are removed or adjusted by the Gaussian interpolation method. The high-vibrated vector filled is stabilized by the Kalman filter. Lastly, compensated images are obtained by affine transformation. This proposed algorithm gives good compensated video images on high-vibration situations.

  • Rotary bar was cutting tool being in use for deburring scale after welding metal and for eliminating sharp edges. It was necessary to develop exclusive 6-axis machine being possible to process machining continuously for making an cutting edge of rotary bar and to revise easily machining program. This study aimed at the structural analysis of strength according to the configuration of new made 6-axis machine and at the machining accuracy and durability of rotary bar. As a result of test, the runout of new rotary bar manufactured out of 6-axis machine was decreased from 0.385 mm to 0.027mm extensively than old one. And good cutting ability and durability was obtained equal quality compared with imported products.

  • In this paper, we consider the sway suppression control problem for container cranes with load hoisting. The proposed control law improves the positioning accuracy but also the sway suppression through fast stabilization of the under-actuated sway dynamics, which is based on a class of feedback linearizing control incorporated with an additional control including the sway angle and its rate as well as positioning errors and their rates. For the design of the additional control, a variable structure control with the proper sway damping and simple switching action is employed, thus preventing excessive overshoots of the trolley travelljng and effectively suppressing the residual sway of container arrived at the target position. Simulation results are provided to show effectiveness of the proposed controller in the presence of such uncertainties as winds and the variation of payload weights.

  • 본 논문은 갠트리 크레인의 시뮬레이터를 제작하여 적응형 흔들림 제어기를 설계한다. 흔들림 감지는 디지털 카메라 센서를 이용하였으며 모델기반 적응제어를 이용하여 제어규칙을 산출한다. 제어규칙은 리아푸노브 안정성이론을 적용하였으며 정의된 리아푸노브 함수의 미분식이 음수를 갖기 위한 크레인의 적응형 제어입력을 계산한다. 제안한 제어기의 성능을 검토하기 위하여 실시간 제어실험을 실시하였으며 이송체의 무게 변화에 대한 적응성을 검토한다. 또한 기존의 PI 제어기도 함께 실험하여 성능의 비교 검토한다.
