For policies and actions associated promotion of social and environmental benefits of forest in Korea, various polices have been progressed based on newly established ordinances along with full progresses of subdivision of the Forest Law since reorganization of regulatory system by functions focused on the Basic Forestry Act. In these policies, water resource conserving function and national land conserving function which have little close relation to the people's daily life including formation of forest for conservation of water supply and erosion control have continued to be promoted since 1970s. Especially in recently years, the policy of biodiversity conserving function according to importance of health and recreation function and conservation management of forest ecosystem and animal and plant are being promoted actively. Among them, the health and recreation functions is featured for various policies to be promoted in spite of small budget for responding actively to various forest recreation demands after settlement of 5-day workweek system. It seems because the health and recreation function could obtain visible results of governmental investment and high responses from the peoples as a function having close relationship with the people's daily life.

The aim of this study was to suggest fundamental data for managing forest trail efficiently from the aspect of users near metropolitan city of Daegu, and to reveal the differences in visiting motivation and satisfaction on forest trail between regional users and distant users, which based upon the convenience of accessibility. As a result of questionnaire survey on the users of forest trail, it was revealed that they mostly visited recreational and therapeutic purposes. Most users were also satisfied with forest trail experiences without any differences between groups. Regarding to trail facilities, however, regional users within 30 minutes distances from the trail were significantly dissatisfied with the facilities. It was suggested that improving facilities and programs for recreational and therapeutic purposes should be established for regional users in the policy of self governing body.

This research was conducted to develop pricing strategy based on understanding about customer perceived value of lodging facilities in national recreation forest. The technique known as PSM (price-sensitivity measurement) was used for analysis of price sensitivity for two kinds of lodging (log-cabin and forest-hotel) and for room sizes (4, 5, 6, 7 persons). PSM questionnaire for on-site survey were distributed to 236 customers on their visit to the six national recreation forests. The main results of this study were as follows: the price sensitivity of big size was higher then small, also, the price sensitivity of log cabin was higher then forest-hotel. Present prices were within the range of acceptable prices except prices of the use of 6 and 7 person of log-cabin. From the result of this study, it was concluded that price adjustment or price promotion strategy would effective for increase in sales and marketing strategies to enhance consumers' perceptions of value should be conducted for two room types by situations.

Recreation forests are in the spotlight as the place for personality development, mind and body comfort, companionship, and environment education in forests and valleys. Visitors to recreation forests have been on the increase along with booming in recreation forest building since 1988. Recreation forests are being categorized according to some features such as regional and environmental condition. Recreation forests, however, have not met the expectations of some visitors who want to take a rest with calmness due to the influence of the 5-day-work-week system, increasing interest in rest, leisure, and well-being, and users converge during weekends, summer, and the tourist season. In order to improve visitors' satisfaction efficiently, this study surveyed the level of satisfaction in each cluster based on the precedent study which had classified 85 national or public recreation forests in Korea into clusters. Questionnaires were distributed properly to each cluster and, of the 1,132 questionnaires collected, 1,015 were valid and used for analysis. Reliability of questionnaires and statistical validity of the model were verified. As a result, there are meaningful differences in the ranking of independent variables which affect the level of satisfaction according to clusters. Variables in rest and fatigue recovery have the strongest influence on the level of satisfaction in the clusters of potential factor, internal activation factor, and mixed potential capacity factor. In the use performance and visiting condition factor cluster, appropriateness of visit cost is most influential and, in the education cluster, connectivity with tourist attractions around it is most affective. These results can provide priority in services and maintenance of recreation forests for improving the level of satisfaction and differentiate the distribution of resources according to clusters.

미국 뉴포트의 주택들은 20세기를 전후로 하는 시기에 당시 최상류층의 휴양용 저택들로서, 미국의 절충주의 건축을 대표할 수 있는 특징을 갖고 있는 주택들이다. 본 연구에서는 미국에서 유럽의 건축적 전통과 영향을 절충주의적 철학에 따라 자신들의 형식으로 완성한 양식상의 전개를 살펴보고자 한다. 단순히 외국의 건축으로서 보다는 전통적 건축보다 외국의 영향에 의한 근대건축 문화를 이룩한, 우리나라의 건축 양식적 문제를 상호 비교하여 살펴보는 한 사례가 될 수 있을 것으로 본다.

In order to manage forest recreation resources effectively, it is necessary to establish objective and quantifiable evaluative standards. They can be used to evaluate the present management conditions of recreation resources and to monitor the conditions continuously on the basis of the established evaluative standards. Normative approach is one of alternatives to help establish evaluative standards. Researchers and forest managers have been interested in the approach, and its usefulness in managing recreation resources has been emphasized. This paper evaluated the present conditions of the campgrounds on the basis of users' normative evaluative standards using the data collected by on-site survey at two campgrounds (Baemsagol Campground and Second Campground) in Chiri-Mountain National Park in 1.993. This paper established evaluative standards for eight impact indicators using normative approach, and it evaluated the present management conditions of the campgrounds on the basis of them. The present management conditions for noise time and littering behavior were worse than the evaluative standards at Baemsagol and Second Campground. Present conditions for inconsiderate behavior, number of tents, number of campers, and waiting time for using water supply were worse than the evaluative standards only at Baemsagol Campground. The present management conditions for distance between tents and waiting time for using restroom were better than the evaluative standards at both campgrounds. This study introduced how normative approach can be used to establish evaluative standards, and based on the study result, some management directions were suggested.

This study analyzes the number of Jeju-bound tourists according to travellers' purposes. We classify the travellers' purposes into three categories: "Rest and Sightseeing", "Leisure and Sport", and "Conference and Business". To see an impact of MERS outbreak occurred in May 2015 on the number of tourists, we fit seasonal ARIMA-Intervention model to the monthly arrivals data from January 2005 to March 2016. The estimation results show that the number of tourists for "Leisure and Sport" and "Conference and Business" were significantly affected by MERS outbreak whereas arrivals for "Rest and Sightseeing" were little influenced. Using the fitted models, we predict the number of Jeju-bound tourists.
