A Research for Shorebirds on the Southernmost of Nakdong Estuary (낙동강 하구 최남단 사주의 도요.물떼새류에 관한 연구)

  • Estuary islets should be managed systematically because they are important places for birds to rest and breed. This paper investigates the environmental properties of islets where the sand banks are located from east to west on the southernmost of Nakdong estuary during a year (September 2003 $\sim$ August 2004). The research showed that 59 species and 19,148 individuals were found in the area A (Jangja Shinja-Do) and 61 species and 28,394 individuals in the area B (Saja-Do; Beakhapdeung Doyodeung). Totally, 74 species and 47,539 individuals were observed in both of this estuary. Shorebirds are the most observed species in both areas. In area, most of individuals were especially observed in the spring when Shorebirds migrate northward for breeding. In B area, various species were also observed in the fall when they migrate southward for wintering. Therefore, many groups of birds are observed around Shinja-Do in the spring. They passed the winter in Doyodueng, associated with feeding in the main stream of Nakdong river mainly. Although the southernmost sand bar is the breeding place to access to outside without interception, invasion by human beings and predators (mice, weasels and etc.) gives a fatal blow for birds to breed or rest. The reed which is a tall herbaceous plant is flourished according to the process of ecological succession. Therefore, the sand bar becomes a land. It results in reduction of habitats and breeding grounds for birds. In conclusion, these areas where birds can use the islets as habits and breeding places must be preserved by restraining luxuriance of reeds and systematic management of human beings and predators is necessary.

Relationship between MMPI-2 Clinical Scales and SRQ of Brain Quotient (다면적 인성검사(MMPI-2)임상척도와 자기조절지수와의 관련성)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory(MMPI-2) clinical scales and the self-regulation quotient of the brain quotient. The test in this study was performed by 41 adults over 20 years old and was done using the MMPI-2, which is a self-reporting method. EEG was performed using a 2-channel EEG System at Fp1 and Fp2. The analysis showed a negative correlation between scale 2(D), which is the MMPI-2 clinical scale, and the SRQ(Self Regulation Quotient) relaxation status, which is the related alpha rhythm. Scale3(Hy) showed a positive correlation with the SRQ concentration status and low ${\beta}$ rhythm. Scale7 in the MMPI-2 clinical scales showed a negative correlation with the SRQ relaxation status, which is the alpha rhythm. This means that MMPI-2 and SRQ can be used complementarily in the field of counseling. These results could be interpreted in three ways. First, people with depression are sensitive to other people's attention and evaluation. Therefore, they tend to expend a lot of energy when forming interpersonal relationships, and if they do not learn to relax, their fatigue can easily be increased. Second, people who seek other people's interest and have a cheerful spirit are considered to be highly active. Third, highly stressed people with anxiety and tension seem to easily become tired and their irritation and discomfort may be increased in consequence.

Relationship between Leisure Constraints and Leisure Satisfaction among the Juvenile (청소년의 여가활동제약이 여가만족에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was to analyze the influence of the leisure constraints on leisure satisfaction. For research participants, 4 high-school students(2 males and 2 females) were participated by applying purposeful sampling. The students of the junior-senior high schools under the influence of the board of education of Chun-Cheon city as of 2008 have been chosen as the population. According to the methods of this study, the write visited the schools personally, explained the answers, and got them to answer each item for themselves by the self-administration method, Out of the total 300 questionnaires, 259 questionnaires have been collected, and the 259 questionnaires except the two whose answers are insincere or whose filling up is omitted have been chosen as the final examples. The collective data analyzed by Windows SPSS 12.0 version, which gives none, reliability analysis, factor analysis, regression analysis were used as statistic analysis techniques. The conclusions drawn through these methods and procedures of the study are as follows; First, the leisure constraints influences on psychological satisfaction. Second, the he leisure constraints influences on relaxational satisfaction.

Tourism Resources Strategy of Royal Tomb: from Seosam-noung's Social Transfiguration and Characteristic Perspectives (서삼릉의 사회적 변용과 특성으로부터 본 왕릉의 관광자원화 방향)

  • This research investigated the tourism resources strategies of royal tomb from the perspectives of Seosam-noung's social transfigurations and space characteristics. The result showed that environmental factors were no less important than cultural factors for evaluating royal tomb's recreational value. Because a royal tomb needs to be developed as a rest place for citizens, how citizen's rest place and tourism recreation can be coexisted is a significant matter for a space development. In addition, royal tomb's characteristic is related to the characteristics of culture, environment, man, gardening, and scenery. Therefore, the story research of these gardening, man, space needs to be investigated.

Segmenting Ecotourism Village Visitors by Motivation (생태체험마을 방문 동기에 따른 시장세분화)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the motives of tourists who visited ecotourism villages in Korea. A self-administered survey was obtained from 254 visitors in six ecotourism villages. As for the motivations of ecotourism village visitors, four factors ('relaxation', 'adventure', 'experience natural' and 'family togetherness') were extracted. Three distinct segments were identified based on the motivation : multipurpose seekers (45.3%), relaxation seekers (34.6%), family togetherness seekers (20.1%). Socio-demographic characteristics and tourism behaviors of each segmentation were also analyzed. The findings should be of interest to practitioners of ecotourism village marketing and operation.

  • 경제적 발달과 사회적 성장으로 인한 도심지 하천과 호소와 같은 수변공간의 개발에 대한 시민의 요구는 다양화되고 높은 수준의 요구가 증가하고 있다. 도심의 수변공간은 도시내 다양한 사회생활과 사람간의 교류가 이루어지는 활동적인 공간이자. 정적이기도 한 다양한 기능을 가진 공간이다. 이러한 도시내 수변공간은 공간은 도시를 관류하는 하천을 중심으로 시민들의 일상적인 휴식과 산책, 여가 생활을 할 수 있는 공간으로 개발되어 왔다. 그러나 전국 주요 도시의 하천들이 수변개발을 통해 동일한 시설과 콘텐츠를 적용함으로써 하천의 다양성이 부족하였다. 수변공간의 개발은 1990년대 이후 도심하천중심의 조경하천으로 개발이 진행되었으며 수변공간 주변에 주거지역이나 상업지역이 들어서면서 기존의 도심 공간에 수변공간이 개발되어 시민의 접근성을 높이고자 하였다. 그러나 개발된 수변공간은 최근의 수변공간 개발은 시민들이 즐겁고 편안하게 즐길 수 있는 공간을 제공하고 지역의 특성을 살리는 방향으로 추진되고 있다. 현재까지 개발된 수변공간은 접근성과 공공성의 결여 주변여건과의 부조화 등이 문제점으로 제시되고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 많은 수변공간에서 관광, 축제, 일상휴식, 레저 등 다양한 목적과 기능으로 시민들이 활용하고 있다. 본 연구는 수변공간 개발을 위해 선행연구를 조사하여 문제점과 수변개발의 특성, 유형 등을 분류한 후 수변공간 개발 시 고려사항과 평가사항을 제시하였다.

Home-range Analysis of Pipistrelle Bat (Pipistrellus abramus) in Non-Reproductive Season by Using Radio-tracking (원격무선추적을 이용한 집박쥐의 비번식기 행동권 분석)

  • This study was conducted to analyze the home range size of Pipistrellus abramus in non-reproductive season. The survey was conducted in the day-roosting site of Pipistrellus abramus located in Gyeongju City(North Gyeongsang Province). We radio-tracked six Pipistrellus abramus(male 3, female 3) and LTM single stage radio transmitter(0.38g), R2000 ATS receiver, three element yagi antenna, roof mounted antenna and ArcGIS 3.3(ESRI, Animal Movement Extension 2.0) were used to locate bats and home range analyze. The home range sizes of the 6 radio-tracked Pipistrellus abramus ranged from 8.97 to 19.07ha(Maen $14.46{\pm}3.44ha$). Mean home range size of female($16.83{\pm}1.96ha$) was larger than that of male($12.08{\pm}2.96ha$) but there were no significant differences in home range sizes between male and female(t=2.32, p>0.05). Also, mean maximum distances from the roost was $468.73{\pm}94.38m$ but there were no significant differences between sexes(female, $422.73{\pm}10.38m$; male, $514.74{\pm}125.74m$; t=-1.26, p>0.05).

Dual-Isotope SPECT Imaging with Thallium-201 and Technetium-99m MIBI in Detecting Coronary Artery Disease (관상동맥질환 진단에서 Thallium-201과 Technetium-99m MIBI를 이용한 Dual-Isotope SPECT 영상)

  • We evaluated the results of sequential SPECT dual-isotope imaging with Tl-201 and Tc-99m MIBI in 24 patients. all of whom also had coronary angiography within the past one month. Coronary angiography showed that 12 patients had no CAD, 4 patients had one-vessel CAD, 7 patients had two-vessel CAD and 1 patient had three-vessel CAD. Serial studies of resting Tl-201 and dipyridamole stress Tc-99m MIBI were completed within 2 hours. When more than 50% of coronary artery narrowing was considered significant, the overall sensitivity and specificity of CAD detection were 91.7%. The sensitivity of CAD detection in patients with one-vessel and multi-vessel diseases was 75% and 100%. respectively. Therefore, sequential dual-isotope SPECT demonstrated high sensitivity and specificity for CAD detection. In conclusion, sequential dual-isotope imaging is feasible and can be completed in a short time and may therefore enhance laboratory throughput and patient convenience.

Management Plan of Whooper Swan(Cygnus cygnus) Habitat Using Causal Loop Analysis : Focused on Eulsukdo (인과순환구조 분석을 통한 큰고니 서식환경 유지방안 -을숙도를 중심으로-)

  • The goal of this study is to analyze the feedback structure of habitat changes of the Whooper Swan in Eulsukdo using system thinking to suggest a management plan for ecosystem health. Using the causal loop diagrams of population changes between Whooper Swan and other bird species in Eulsukdo, we found that the environmental changes in the roosting and foraging area affect the Whooper Swan's population. The causal loop diagrams of the Whooper Swan's roosting area indicated that the environmental changes (e.g., water level, noise, bird watching, and other experience activities) may influence their population density variation. In addition, the casual loop diagrams of the Whooper Swan's foraging area showed that the Whooper Swan's population was affected by various variables that included area factors such as surface area of freshwater, frozen water, salinity, and density of Scirpus planiculmis. Furthermore, through the integrated causal loop diagram, cumulative discharge of Nakdong estuary weir and building activities were identified as the variables that affect the population of the Whooper Swan. Thus, we selected this area as the strategic point to establish a management plan for the Whooper Swan's habitat. The results of this study will help in decision making of a long-term management plan for sustaining the environmental health of the ecosystem in Eulsukdo.

  • 최상삼 박사를 만나기 위해 떠난 이른 오후, 인터넷으로 KIST 지도를 뽑아들고 전화로 전해들은 KIST 안내를 되새겨가며 청량리역에 내려섰다. 택시를 잡아타고 KIST로 가는 길은 서울의 복잡한 도심과는 달리 아늑한 위로를 주는 안정된 공간이었다. 길게 늘어선 가로수 길을 지나 중문에 들어서면 연구원 중앙에 자리 잡은 넓직한 연못과 깔끔하게 정리된 정원수들을 마주하게 된다. 그 순간 KIST라는 이름에서 느껴지는 위압감은 사라지고 연구실에서 연구에 씨름하던 이들이 느끼는 휴식같은 공간에 부러움까지 느껴진다. 하지만 KIST 내부에 들어서면 철저한 보안장비와 비스듬히 열려진 문틈으로 보여지는 그들의 모습은 치열함이 엿보인다. 그 치열한 공간에서 연구원들과 함께 하며 그들을 이끌어가고 있는 최상삼 박사를 만났다. 세월의 여유로움과 인자함이 묻어나는 박사님의 모습에서 광산업의 가능성을 마주하고 온 시간이었다.
