Vibration Control of Vehicle using Road Profile Information (외란 형상 정보를 활용한 진동제어)

  • In this study, based on the RPS algorithm, the application results to an electrically controlled suspension system using previewed road information are presented. Reducing the excessive vibration induced by a disturbance transmitted to the system and secure its stability is a major issue. In particular, in the automotive industry, the demand is constantly being raised. A typical external disturbance causing vibration and instability of a vehicle is an irregular roadway surface that contacts a running vehicle tire. Therefore, obtaining such profile information is an important process. The RPS algorithm using a multi sensor system was constructed and implemented in a real car. Through experimental work using the RPS system included non-contact type optical sensors, it could robustly reconstruct the road input profiles from the intermixed data onto the vehicle's dynamic motion while traveling at an uneven roadway surface. A controller with a preview control was designed in the framework of a semi-active suspension system based on the 7 degrees of freedom full vehicle model. The control performance of the system was evaluated through simulations and the results were compared with the passive vehicle condition. These results highlight the feasibility of the presented control frame.

Selection Method of Fuzzy Partitions in Fuzzy Rule-Based Classification Systems (퍼지 규칙기반 분류시스템에서 퍼지 분할의 선택방법)

  • The initial fuzzy partitions in fuzzy rule-based classification systems are determined by considering the domain region of each attribute with the given data, and the optimal classification boundaries within the fuzzy partitions can be discovered by tuning their parameters using various learning processes such as neural network, genetic algorithm, and so on. In this paper, we propose a selection method for fuzzy partition based on statistical information to maximize the performance of pattern classification without learning processes where statistical information is used to extract the uncertainty regions (i.e., the regions which the classification boundaries in pattern classification problems are determined) in each input attribute from the numerical data. Moreover the methods for extracting the candidate rules which are associated with the partition intervals generated by statistical information and for minimizing the coupling problem between the candidate rules are additionally discussed. In order to show the effectiveness of the proposed method, we compared the classification accuracy of the proposed with those of conventional methods on the IRIS and New Thyroid Cancer data. From experimental results, we can confirm the fact that the proposed method only considering statistical information of the numerical patterns provides equal to or better classification accuracy than that of the conventional methods.

  • The main thrust of our talk will be based on our experience in developing and applying an attribute-based classification technique in the context of an operational answer set driven retrieval system. To alleviate the difficulty and reduce the cost of manually constructing and maintaining answer sets, i.e., knowledge base, we have devised a new method of automating the answer document selection process by using the notion of attribute-based classification, which is in and of itself novel. We attempt to explain through experiments how helpful the proposed method is for the knowledge base construction process.

  • We present a new use of common graphics hardware to perform a faster artificial neural network. And we examine the use of GPU enhances the time performance of the image processing system using neural network, In the case of parallel computation of multiple input sets, the vector-matrix products become matrix-matrix multiplications. As a result, we can fully utilize the parallelism of GPU. Sigmoid operation and bias term addition are also implemented using pixel shader on GPU. Our preliminary result shows a performance enhancement of about thirty times faster using ATI RADEON 9800 XT board.

  • This paper proposes an algorithm to estimate the wind velocity by tracking free flying balloons. Balloons used in this method are expendable but inexpensive, which increases the usefulness of the method. Also we can obtain accurate 3D information by using multiple cameras and estimate the wind velocity of the local field. The proposed system consists of aerodynamic modeling of the balloon, a tracking algorithm using image processing, and the velocity estimation algorithm. We performed unit tests of each algorithm for the verification. The method is validated using a system simulation and sources of error case identified.

  • The research background of this paper is because the u-convergence information system applying flow theory lacks the measurement of tourist satisfaction. The purpose and research method of this study are as follows. The first is the suggestion of flow relation information display format algorithm. Second, by combining this algorithm and flow theory, a pattern algorithm was created according to the content information quality and the personality type of tourists. The expected effect of this study is to derive the success factors of the u-convergence information system by generating a pattern algorithm according to the flow relationship information display format and the tourist's personality type. The limitations of this paper are limited to one area, and objectivity is poor due to the lack of data and small area. In the future, it is necessary to evaluate the effectiveness through analysis after applying the method presented to other tourist destinations. Future tasks will need to be supplemented with data from expert groups and objectivity in various regions.

  • The digital maps, important data to build NGIS, require different scales in the same area. The organization for producing a digital map tries to find product method for digital map with economical efficiency and quality. The objectives of this study is to develope digital map generalization system to solve above problems. In order to develop this system, the work processing for digital map generalization is established, the analysis of related law and analysis on maps in different scales were performed, and each of digital map generalization algorithms was compared. The result of digital map generalization using this system shows that have a good result about positional accuracy which was evaluated by comparison between the generalized 1/25,000 and the corresponding 1/5,000 digital map. Furthermore, this system reduce the time required for 1/25,000 digital map production and the physical data amount by around 80%. In conclusion, the generalization system developed for this research can be useful for the digital map generalization from large scale to small scale digital map.

An Analysis on the Preference and Use-Demand Forecasting of Bus Information (버스정보의 선호도 및 이용수요 예측에 관한 연구)

  • To build the system which has high utilization and usefulness for users, it is necessary to know the information type and use-demand that the use want. The purpose of this study is to forecast the preference and demand of utilization for bus information when bus information is offered through cellular phon. The accomplishments of this research are as follow : Firstly, importance on the level of individual factor and the value of change's figure can be evaluated, using preference analysis on bus information by conjoint analysis. Secondly, by establishing the use-demand model bus information using binary logit model, influence factor on whether or not the use of the user. Finally, ordered probit model was built by use behavior model in payment per call or per month of potential user of bus information. Through call times and sensitive analysis by payment methods, elasticity point, optimal payment fee, and use probability was analyzed. This study make application as basic to efficient bus information policy and to improve use rate of bus information in future because this study make it possible to get preference analysis, use-demand analysis and estimation of optimal payment fee which is reflecting various requirement in use of bus information user.

The Generation of 3D Geospatial Data using Digital Photogrammetry System (수치사진측량시스템을 이용한 3차원 공간데이터 구축)

  • Aerial photogrammetry, which is one of the most frequent used technology in mapping and surveying, has been appreciated for its work flow and accuracy to generate 2D and 3D geospatial data. In aerial photograrnrnetry, more than two photographs are taken over the same target area in different position with overlap. Using these photographs and minimum number of ground control points, 3D stereo model is so formed that the ground surface in reality is reconstructed through analogue/analytical plotter or digital photogrammetry system. In case of digital photogrammetry system, 3D geospatial data could be automatically extracted in partial. Recently, in the advent of aerial digital camera such as ADS40 and DMC, digital photogrammetry system will be in the frist place for generating 3D geospatial data. In this paper, we experimentally generated 3D geospatial data using digital photograrnrnetry system in the aspect of work flow.

Design of Shipboard integrated network platform for Digital-ship (디지털 선박을 위한 선박 통합화 네트워크 설계 및 구현)

  • For the efficient and safe navigation management of ships cruising across oceans, international maritime law environments have been reinforced and the demand of information sharing between ships and shore has also been increasing. According to these environments and demand. researches about digital ships, ship integration, and ship integration networks have been active recently in US and Europe. In this raper, we first investigate about the proper ship integration platform, and then design and implement a ship integration network based upon the ship integration platform. We construct networks connecting various devices and systems into a layered architecture, and design an integration protocols. Based upon this architecture and protocols, we implement an ship integration system which manages all data and information of ship in a standardized platform and support ship-shore information sharing through which the more efficient and safer ship navigation management are supported with help from shore. We test our ship integration system by applying it to real operating ships and we find our system reliability and verify the efficiency of ship-shore information sharing and management.
