Effects of College Students' Hopelessness upon Their Happiness: Moderating Effects of Social Support (대학생이 느끼는 절망감이 행복감에 미치는 영향: 사회적 지지의 조절효과)

  • The present study has the purpose of investigating the moderating effects of social support which college students may feel in the process of their emotional transfer from hopelessness to happiness. For this purpose, a survey was conducted by distributing questionnaires to 734 students enrolled in the 4-year-course colleges located in Jeollabuk-do. Frequency analysis, t-test, ANOVA, correlation analysis and hierarchial regression analysis were performed to process the data collected from questionnaires. Major outcomes of the analyses could be summed up as follows: First, hopelessness turned out to reduce happiness. Second, from the hierarchial regression analysis in which happiness was set as a dependent variable and hopelessness and social support were input gradually, it was learned that hopelessness affected happiness negatively (-) while social support exercised impact in the positive (+) direction as hopelessness had influence on happiness. Based on the results of the study, practical and political implications were discussed with a view to prepare positive mechanism such as promotion of college students' mental health and social support.

University Hierarchy and Labor Market Outcome - Wage Differentials between Provincial and Seoul Metropolitan Area University Graduates - (대학서열과 노동시장 성과 - 지방대생 임금차별을 중심으로 -)

  • Using KRIVET's Graduates Economic Activities Survey for 2005, this article examines the relationship between university ranking and labor market outcome, with a focus on wage differentials existing between provincial and Seoul metropolitan area university graduates. According to the analysis results, the average monthly wage for provincial university graduates was 1,747.7 thousand Korean won, which is 11.5% lower than that for graduates of universities in the Seoul metropolitan area. School effects on individual wage were estimated to about 12.2% after applying Hierarchical Linear Model technique, which means that university explains only an insignificant part of the total variance in wage among graduates. After controlling for the selection bias, the ability difference between the two areas, by applying the Heckman type 2SLS wage function and Neumark wage differential decomposition technique, the wage gap resulting from the segregation was not identified. This implies that, to a significant extent, the wage gap between provincial and Seoul metropolitan university graduates is attributed to the difference in productivity among individual graduates, rather than to the wage segregation. Also, the estimated wage function by applying Quantile Regression technique indicates that there does not exist any significant wage segregation difference by wage quantile.

Occupational Mobility Patterns and Determinants among Youth Wage Workers in the Local Labor Market, Korea (지역노동시장 수준에서 청년층 임금근로자의 직업이동 패턴과 영향요인 분석)

  • This study investigates the occupational mobility patterns of young wage employees at the local level of the labor market and empirically examines the interplay between worker-level and local labor market-level determinants between 2010 and 2020. The 4th to 14th waves of the Youth Panel 2007 were integrated with the Korea Network for Occupations and Workers and the Local Area Labor Force Survey for estimation using hierarchical linear model. Our results indicate that Gross Regional Domestic Product per capita is key determinant of occupational upward mobility. Also, Estimates of employment size, population density, and the unemployment rate of local labor market have different effects depending on the education level and occupational location of youth workers, suggesting that the effects of structural factors of local labor market may not be distributed equally among all youth wage workers. The findings have policy implications regarding the recent rise in inequality and polarization in local labor markets.

Mediation and Moderation Effects of Organizational Citizenship Behavior between Nursing Performance and Turnover Intention (간호업무수행과 이직의도 간의 관계에서 조직시민행동의 조절 및 매개효과 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating and moderating effects of organizational citizenship behavior on the relationship between nursing performance and turnover intention. Data were collected from 439 nurses in 3 tertiary hospitals and 2 secondary hospitals and analyzed by PASW 18.0 and AMOS 18.0. The findings were as follows. The correlation coefficients of the study variables were all statistically significant. The organizational citizenship behavior showed mediating effects between the nursing performance and turnover intention. On the other hand, organizational citizenship behavior did not have moderating effects. Various strategies that are purposed to enhancing organizational citizenship behavior among nurses should be developed to reduce turnover intention of nurse who have high nursing performance.

  • Previous findings on Organizational Citizenship Behaviors is a useful index for effectiveness of the organization. Also, it is a factor that explains the relation between its member's attitude and behavior as organizational commitment had been stabilized. Since autonomy and rapidity has become more important in increasing the efficiency of the organization, this means Organizational Citizenship Behaviors has become important in it. Organizational Citizenship Behaviors of the members occurs only when discretion and autonomy are given to its members. Therefore, this study aimed at measuring the effects of police officer's personal dispositions on organizational citizenship behaviors, exploring the moderation effect of organization culture, and providing the basis with implications to promote the Organizational Citizenship Behaviors in the police Organization. By reviewing previous finding, Police Officer's Personal Dispositions were selected as independent variables, Organizational Citizenship Behaviors was selected as dependent variable. and Organizational Culture was selected as moderation variable. The result of analysis showed that The belief & The Norm influenced in Organizational Citizenship Behaviors(positive), and The Value in Organizational Citizenship Behaviors(negative).   • 본 연구의 목적은 창업자의 성별에 따라 투자에 미치는 영향이 달라지는지를 확인하고, 또한 이 과정에서 창업자의 사회적 자본이 조절효과로 작용하는지를 분석하기 위해 시도하였다. 본 연구의 가설은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 창업자의 성별은 창업투자에 영향을 미칠 것이다. 둘째, 창업자의 성별과 창업투자의 관계는 창업자의 사회적 자본에 의해 조절될 것이다. 본 연구의 목적을 실증적으로 검증하기 위해 ICT 분야의 동일한 사업계획서에 창업자의 성별 및 사회적 자본만을 다르게 표기하여 창업전문가 집단인 4개의 국책 창업대학원생 및 스타트업 지원경험이 있는 창업유관기관 직원을 대상으로 실험형식의 설문조사를 실시하여 160명의 설문결과를 취합하고, 위계적 회귀분석 연구방법을 이용하여 연구결과를 분석하려고 한다.

  • 수학과 수 연산 영역의 학습 부진 현상은 논리적 위계성이 뚜렷한 수학과의 특성상 이전 학년에서 발생된 학습 결손이나 이해의 부족이 다음 학년에서의 학습 방해나 장애로 이어지며, 이러한 과정의 반복은 학습 부진을 증대시켜 학습 불능에까지 이르게 되는 등 심각한 문제가 되고 있다. 수 연산 능력은 수학 학습의 가장 기초 기능일 뿐 아니라 우리 주변의 생활 속에서 문제 해결력을 키우고 다시 생활 속에 자연스럽게 활용할 수 있는 수학적인 힘을 기르는데 반드시 갖추어야 할 기본 능력이다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 수학과 학습부진아의 특성 및 지도에 관한 문헌을 검토 분석하고, 수학과 기초학력을 진단 및 부진 요인을 탐색하여 단계형 수준별 개별화 학습 프로그램을 설계하였으며, 이를 효과적으로 적용할 수 있는 방법을 탐색하였다. 그리고 학업성취도 및 수학 학습 태도에 대한 프로그램의 효과를 검증하였다.

  • 지구과학 분야에서 가장 어렵게 느껴지는 내용인 천문분야는 다른 과학 분야와 달리 탐구 대상이 천체들이 먼거리에 있고, 쉽게 관측하기 어려우며, 실험실에서 동일실험과 반복 실험이 불가능하여, 추상적이고 직접 관측하기 어려운 개념에 관한 연구들이 많다. 따라서 이 연구에서는 레이저 커팅기를 사용해 지구과학교과 중 별자리를 구성하는 별들의 상대적 거리를 수학적으로 계산하는 과정과 고등학교 물리교과 중 LED 광원의 원리를 알고 LED 모듈을 제작하여 최종적으로 아름답고 과학적으로 가치가 있는 입체 별자리 교구를 제작하는 형태의 STEAM 교육 프로그램을 개발하고 시범학교 적용을 하였다. 이에 지능정보화 사회에 발맞춰 천문학 지식을 창의 교육의 형태로 교육하는 새로운 교육법을 실현한 연구결과들을 발표하고자 한다. 또한 개발한 프로그램의 효과성을 검증하기 위해 STEAM 관련 태도 검사와 논리적 사고력 검사 및 만족도 검사를 실시하였다. 연구결과 개발된 프로그램이 STEAM 태도 검사와 논리적 사고력에 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 천문수업에 대한 학생들의 인식은 긍정적이었다. 따라서 후속 연구에서는 다양한 학년 및 위계에 맞는 프로그램의 개발과 다양한 지역 등의 현장 적용을 통한 연구가 진행되어야 할 것으로 판단된다.

Organizational Culture and Community-Centered Social Inclusion Orientation Among Social Service Organizations for People with Disabilities: Focused on Market Orientation As a Mediator (장애인복지기관의 조직문화유형과 지역사회중심사회통합지향성에 관한 연구 : 시장지향성의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of organizational culture types (rational culture, developmental culture, group culture, and hierarchical culture) on Community-Centered Social Inclusion Orientation(COSI) among social service organizations for people with disabilities. More specifically, this study developed and empirically tested two theoretical models where each of organizational culture types were hypothesized to affect COSI either directly or indirectly through market orientation. For data collection, self-administered type questionnaires were mailed to 416 social service organizations for people with disabilities across the nation and 293 responded (response rate: 70.4%) from June 1 to September 22, 2006. For analysis, however, only 263 respondents were used, excluding Independent living centers due to their small size and short history. Structural Equation Modeling was employed for analysis and Full Information Maximum Likelihood was used for estimation. Findings indicated that market orientation had a significant effect on COSI. In addition, developmental culture and hierarchical culture were found to affect COSI directly while rational culture and group culture were found to affect COSI indirectly through market orientation. These findings imply that market orientation needs to be emphasized as a strategy in order to enhance social inclusion orientation for those organizations. Given that all the four types of organizational culture have direct or indirect impacts on COSI, those organizations are also advised to develop the four types of organizational culture harmoniously rather than one single type of organizational culture.
