The characteristics of bearingless main rotor of helicopter are investigated through non-rotating tests and rotating tests. The stiffness and natural frequencies of rotor blades, flexbeam, and torque tube which are core components of baearingless rotor are measured to obtain input material properties for rotor analysis. The functional test on ground for assembly of one hub with damper, snubber, and no blade is carried out to check interfaces between components, kinematics of components, and pitch motion ranges under applied loads including centrifugal load. The 4-bladed bearingless rotor with 5.82m of rotor radius is tested on the whirl tower with rotation plane of 9.65m height. The thrust and power are measured to obtain hover performance and the frequencies and dampings of the rotor are obtained by excitation of cyclic pitch by hydraulic actuators.

The purpose of this research is to determine the dynamic Magnus effect data of a spinning projectile in wind-tunnel testing. In the present work, the high-speed wind-tunnel tests for the Magnus effect measurements were conducted on a 155-mm spin-stabilized projectile model in the Agency for Defense Development's Tri-Sonic Wind Tunnel at spin rates about 12,000 rpm. The test Mach numbers ranged from 0.7 to 2.0, and the angles of attack ranged from -4 to +10 deg. The validity of the wind-tunnel measurement techniques was evaluated by comparing them with the previous test results on the same configuration. The experimental results show that fair to good agreement is obtained with resonable accuracy.

This paper presents the work being carried out in order to deduce hover performance of a small-scale single rotor blade as a preliminary study of a small coaxial rotor helicopter development. As an initial research, a test stand capable of measuring thrust and torque of a small-scale rotor blade in hover state was constructed and fabricated. The test stand consists of three parts; a rotating device, a load measuring sensor and a data acquisition system. Thrust and torque were measured with varying collective pitch angle at fixed RPM. Through this research, hover performance tests were conducted for a small-scale single rotor blade operating in low Reynolds number ($Re\;{\approx}3{\times}10^5$), as well as for verifying the test stand itself for acquiring hover performance.

The size of an optical surface can significantly affect the performance of an optical system, and high spatial frequency errors have a greater impact. Therefore, it is crucial to measure the surface figure error with high frequency. To address this, a new method called rotational prism stitching interferometer (RPSI) is proposed in this study. The RPSI is a type of stitching interferometer that enhances spatial resolution, but it differs from conventional stitching interferometers in that it does not require the movement of either the mirror tested or the interferometer itself to obtain sub-aperture interferograms. Instead, the RPSI uses a beam expander and a rotating Dove prism to select particular sub-apertures from the entire aperture. These sub-apertures are then stitched together to obtain a full-aperture result proportional to the square of the beam expander's magnification. The RPSI's effectiveness was demonstrated by measuring a 40 mm diameter spherical mirror using a three-magnification beam expander and comparing the results with those obtained from a commercial interferometer. The RPSI achieved surface testing results with nine times higher sampling density than the interferometer alone, with a small difference of approximately 1 nm RMS.

In previous paper[1], the authors had compared the current status of European and US rotorcraft development status. In this paper, more detailed procedures have been studied how the European rotorcraft technologies are developed preparing for 21 st century to be more competitive to US. For the systematic procedure to develop next generation aviation technologies including rotorcraft, the pan-European organization, ACARE, was established, and proposed major research agenda for next generation aviation technologies and businesses. Based on the proposed research agenda, all the R&D programs supported by EU are reorganized to be more efficient and competitive. The procedures for the rotorcraft technologies are, first, cabin noise/vibration reduction program (FRIENDCOPTER), second, core technologies to increase of rotor efficiencies and reduce rotor noise (GRC), and then finally to develop fast/long-range next generation rotorcraft (Fast Rotorcraft). As mentioned in previously, all the R&D procedure has to satisfy basic research agenda especially the environmental impact. With theses procedure, the European rotorcraft business had successful achievements not only in current and future market share, but also preparing for next generation rotorcraft platform such as compound and tilt-rotor rotorcraft satisfying market needs.

This paper analyzes the navigation error for each rotational motion in order to design an optimal rotation sequence, which is a key technology in the rotational inertial navigation. Rotational inertial navigation system is designed to cancel out navigation errors caused by inertial sensor errors by periodically rotating the inertial measurement unit. A properly sequenced rotational motion cancels out the maximum amount of navigation error and is known as an optimal rotation sequence. To design such an optimal turning procedure, this paper identifies the feasible rotational motions that can be implemented in a rotational inertial navigation system and analyzes the navigation error introduced by each rotational motion. In addition, by analyzing the characteristics of the navigation error generated during a rotation sequence in combination, this paper presents the conditions for designing an optimal rotation sequence.

본 연구에서는 비접촉 축진동측정시 발생되는 오차에 대하여 검토하고자 한다. from the studies, the origin of ${\alpha}$$_1$peak was attributed to the detrapping process form trap with 2.88[eV] deep of injected space charge from the chathode in the crystaline regions. The origin of ${\alpha}$$_2$ peak was regarded as the detrapping process of ions trapped with 0.9[eV] deep originated from impurity-ion remained in the specimen during production process of the material, in the crystalline regions. The origin of ${\beta}$ peak was concluded to be due to the depolarization process of "C=0"dipole with the activation energy of 0.75[eV] in the amorphous regions. The origin of ${\gamma}$ peak was responsible to the process combined with the depolarization of "CH$_3$", chain segment, with the activation energy of carriers from the shallow trap with 0.

This paper presents an autonomous target tracking approach and technique for transmitting ground control station image periodically for an unmanned aerial vehicle using onboard gimbaled(pan-tilt) camera system. The miniature rotary UAV which was used in this study has a small, high-performance camera, improved target acquisition technique, and autonomous target tracking algorithm. Also in order to stabilize real-time image sequences, image stabilization algorithm was adopted. Finally the target tracking performance was verified through a real flight test.
In this paper, we briefly introduce the micro-vibration test bench of KARI and the test and analysis method of RWA(Reaction Wheel Assembly) micro-vibration. The micro-vibration of RWA is measured on a KISTLER dynamic plate which can measure the time signal of 6 DOF simultaneously up to 400Hz. Measured data are extensively evaluated with respect to the wheel spin rate to identify the complicate wheel dynamic characteristics, and the static/dynamic unbalances are estimated from the extracted first harmonic component as a part of evaluation process. The estimated static and dynamic unbalances. 0.79gcm and 17.4gcm² respectively. The structural resonance mode and two rocking modes observed as a results of its frequency analysis. Several higher order harmonic components observed, which come from its rotor shape as well as the wheel bearing characteristics.

In this paper, a self-powered quadcopter is designed and manufactured. The quadcopter gains extra power via two types of generators which utilize the principle of electromagnetic induction. One of the types is to make use of a commercial BLDC motor which rotates together with a propeller and thus acts as a generator. The other type is to make use of a coil-wound ring around a propeller which generates electricity when small magnets embedded in a uniquely designed frame rotate together with the propeller. The proposed generators are expected to be of practical use when they are located under the propellers of a quadcopter.
