A Study on High Speed Image Rotation Algorithm using CUDA (CUDA를 이용한 고속 영상 회전 알고리즘에 관한 연구)

  • Image rotation is one of main pre-processing step in image processing or image pattern recognition. It is implemented with rotation matrix multiplication. However it requires lots of floating point arithmetic operations and trigonometric function calculations, so it takes long execution time. We propose a new high speed image rotation algorithm without two major time-consuming operations. It use just 2 shear translation operations, so it is very fast. In addition, we apply a parallel computing technique with CUDA. CUDA is a massively parallel computing architecture using prevailed GPU recently. As GPU is a dedicated graphic processor, it is exellent for parallel processing of pixels. We compare the proposed algorithm with the conventional rotation one with various size images. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is superior to the conventional rotation ones.

EFFECT OF ROTATIONAL SPEED OF PROTAPERTM ROTARY FILE ON THE CHANCE OF ROOT CANAL CONFIGURATION (ProTaperTM로 근관성형시 회전 속도 변화가 근관형태에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate canal configuration after shaping by $ProTaper^{TM}$ with various rotational speed in J-shaped simulated resin canals. Forty simulated root canals were divided into 4 groups, and instrumented using by $ProTaper^{TM}$ at the rotational speed of 250, 300, 350 and 400 rpm. Pre-instrumented and post-instrumented images were taken by a scanner and those were superimposed. Outer canal width, inner canal width, total canal width, and amount of transportation from original axis were measured at 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 mm from apex. Instrumentation time, instrument deformation and fracture were recorded. Data were analyzed by means of one-way ANOVA followed by Scheffe's test. The results were as follows 1. Regardless of rotational speed, at the $1{\sim}2mm$ from the apex, axis of canal was transported to outer side of a curvature, and at 3~6 mm from the apex, to inner side of a curvature. Amounts of transportation from original axis were not sienifcantly different among experimental groups except at 5 and 6 mm from the apex. 2. Instrumentation time of 350 and 400 rpm was significantly less than that of 250 and 300 rpm (p<0.01). In conclusion the rotational speed of $ProTaper^{TM}$ files in the range of $250{\sim}400rpm$ does not affect the change of canal configuration, and high rotational speed reduces the instrumentation time. However appearance of separation and distortion of Ni-Ti rotary files can occur in high rotational speed.

Evaluation of Reliability about Short TAT (Turn-Around Time) of Domestic Automation Equipment (Gamma Pro) (국산 자동화 장비(Gamma Pro)의 결과보고시간 단축에 대한 유용성 평가)

  • Purpose: Recently, many hospitals have been tried to increase the satisfaction of the outpatients through blood-gathering, exam, result notice and process in a day. Each laboratory has been used the automatic equipment for the rapid requests of the result notice and the increase of the reliability and efficiency. Current automatic equipments that have been limited short TAT(Turn-Around Time)because of the restricted batch lists and 1 tip-5 detectors. The Gamma Pro which is made in Korea to improve the shortcomings of existing automation equipment, complemented with capacity to perform a wide range of domestic automation equipment. In this study, we evaluated the usefulness and reliability of short TAT by comparing Gamma Pro with current automatic equipment. Materials and Methods: We studied the correlation between Gamma Pro and RIA-mat 280 using the respective 100 specimens of low or high density to the patients who were requested the thyroid hormone test (Total T3, TSH and Free T4) in Samsung Medical Center Sep. 2009. To evaluate the split-level Gamma Pro, First, we measured accuracy and carry over on the tips. Second, the condition of optimal incubation was measured by the RPM (Revolution Per Minute) and revolution axis diameter on the incubator. For the analysis for the speed of the specimen-processing, TAT was investigated with the results in a certain time. Result: The correlation coefficients (R2) between the Gamma Pro and RIA-mat 280 showed a good correlation as T3 (0.98), TSH (0.99), FT4 (0.92). The coefficient of variation (C.V) and accuracy was 0.38 % and 98.3 % at tip 1 and 0.39 % and 98.6 % at tip 2. Carry over showed 0.80 % and 1.04% at tip 1 and tip 2, respectively. These results indicate that tips had no effect on carry over contamination. At the incubator condition, we found that the optimal condition was 1.0mm of diameter at 600RPM in 1.0mm and 1.5mm of at 500RPM or 1.0mm and 1.5 mm of diameter at 600 RPM. the Gamma Pro showed that the number of exam times were increased as maximum 20 times/day comparing to 6 times/day by current automatic equipment. These results also led to the short TAT from 4.20 hour to 2.19 hours in whole processing. Conclusion: The correlation of between the Gamma Pro and RIA-mat 280 was good and has not carry over contamination in tips. The domestic automation equipment (Gamma Pro) decreases the TAT in whole test comparing to RIA-280. These results demonstrate that Gamma Pro has a good efficiency, reliability and practical usefulness, which may contribute to the excellent skill to process the large scale specimens.

Multi-tracer Imaging of a Compton Camera (다중 추적자 영상을 위한 컴프턴 카메라)

  • Since a Compton camera has high detection sensitivity due to electronic collimation and a good energy resolution, it is a potential imaging system for nuclear medicine. In this study, we investigated the feasibility of a Compton camera for multi-tracer imaging and proposed a rotating Compton camera to satisfy Orlov's condition for 3D imaging. Two software phantoms of 140 and 511 keV radiation sources were used for Monte-Carlo simulation and then the simulation data were reconstructed by listmode ordered subset expectation maximization to evaluate the capability of multi-tracer imaging in a Compton camera. And the Compton camera rotating around the object was proposed and tested with different rotation angle steps for improving the limited coverage of the fixed conventional Compton camera over the field-of-view in terms of histogram of angles in spherical coordinates. The simulation data showed the separate 140 and 511 keV images from simultaneous multi-tracer detection in both 2D and 3D imaging and the number of valid projection lines on the conical surfaces was inversely proportional to the decrease of rotation angle. Considering computation load and proper number of projection lines on the conical surface, the rotation angle of 30 degree was sufficient for 3D imaging of the Compton camera in terms of 26 min of computation time and 5 million of detected event number and the increased detection time can be solved with multiple Compton camera system. The Compton camera proposed in this study can be effective system for multi-tracer imaging and is a potential system for development of various disease diagnosis and therapy approaches.

Public DB-Based Restaurant Latency Prediction Model (공공 DB 기반의 식당 대기 시간 예측 모델)

  • 본 논문에서는 지도 앱이 제공하는 식당의 시간별 평균 방문자 수 데이터와 공공 DB의 면적 데이터를 활용하여 식당의 대기 시간을 예측하여 출력해주는 모델을 제안한다. 요식업에 관련된 통계 데이터를 활용해 식당 홀이 차지하는 면적을 추정한 뒤, 식당의 예상 수용 인원을 추정하여 여기에 평균 테이블 회전율을 적용하여, 식당의 시간 당 수용 인원을 추정식당의 대기 시간을 계산한다. 거기에 사용자 리뷰와 식당 별점 데이터 등의 외부 요인을 통해 대기 시간을 보정, 예상 대기 시간의 정확도 상승을 꾀한다. 이 모델이 상용화 될시, 이용자는 식당 선택에 의해 야기되는 스트레스를 완화시킬 수 있고, 식당 이용자들의 분산효과를 낳을 수 있을 것이다.

Transient Analysis of High-rise Wall-Frame Structures with Outriggers under Seismic Load (초고층 전단벽-골조 아웃리거 구조시스템의 지진하중에 대한 시간이력해석)

  • In this paper, the seismic behavior of shear wal-frame systems is analyzed. The governing equations of the wall-frame systems with outrigger truss are formulated through the continuum approach and the whole structure is idealized as a shear-flexural cantileverwith rotational spring. The effect of shear deformation and flexural deformation of the wall-frame and outrigger trusses are considered and incorporated in the formulation of the wall-frame structures with and without outriggers are compared by using finite element analysis incorporated with the Newmark-${\beta}$ method. Numerical results are obtained and compared with the finite element package MIDAS. The proposed method is found to be simple and efficient, and provides reason ably accurate results in the early design stage of tall building structures.

ON TRANSPORTS DRIVEN BY TIME-VARYING WINDS IN HORIZONTALLY UNBOUNDED SHALLOW SEAS (시간변화적 바람에 따른 넓은 천해에서의 해수유랑)

  • We present theoretical models for the unstedy transports driven by the time-varying wind stress in horizontally unbounded shallow seas of an uniform depth. We derive linearized transport equations that inchude the acceleration, the Coriolis firce, the wind stress and the bottom friction. The steady transport in a shallow sea is different from the classical Ekman transport because of a presence of non-negligible bottom fricttttion. The transient reansport and an inertial oscillation of which frequency of rotation is the same as the frequency of the wind stress forcing. The transprt associated with a wind stress of which direction changes linearlywith time is decribed by a superpoeition so a free inertial oscillation with a pweiod of one inertial day, The theoretical models of the transports are useful in understanding the time-varying currents and the transports of nutrients in shallow seas.

GPS 구간 검지 방식 기반의 Network 설계를 통한 교통정보 수집 및 제공

  • 최적 경로 서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 구간 통행속도, 구간 통행시간, 회전 정보, 혼잡도 등과 같은 교통정보가 필요하다. 또한, 고객에게 신뢰성 있는 최적 경로를 제공하기 위해서는 실시간 교통정보 수집은 반드시 필요하며, 이러한 실시간 교통정보 수집 방법들에 대한 고찰과 검토가 선행되어야 한다. 기존의 교통정보 수집방법을 살펴보면 지점검지 방식의 경우, 수집되는 정보가 검지기 설치 지점의 지점속도(Spot Speed)이므로 해당 링크를 주행한 통행속도(통행시간)의 대표값으로 채택하기에는 다소 무리가 있으며 구간검지 방식의 경우, 일반적으로 급격한 교통류 변동에 따른 대기행렬 검지가 늦다는 단점이 있다.(중략)
