수면관통형 터널 프로펠러의 성능해석을 위한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Performance of a Surface Piercing Propeller in Tunnel)

  • A surface piercing propeller (SPP) in tunnel has been proposed recently as a new propulsion system for a high speed air cavity ship. The purpose of the present study is to investigate the characteristics of the SPP in tunnel through a series of model tests. A model propulsion system is placed on a dummy body made of Acrylics. The tunnel is divided into two regions by a guide vane extending from the inlet to the center of the propeller shaft. Air has been supplied from an air nozzle placed at the bottom of the dummy body and the changes in propeller performances caused by the air flow are investigated. The measurements are done for open water and in-tunnel conditions, both for fully and partially submerged propeller. The influence of the guide vane configurations on the propeller performance is also studied. The experiments are performed at the variable pressure circulation water channel of Inha University.

침선어초 주위의 유동특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of the Flow around a Sunken Vessel)

  • This paper deals with the numerical and experimental study on the characteristics of the flow around a sunken vessel. Numerical simulation of the two dimensional steady flow on the midship section are carried out by the CFD code which is developed by using finite volume method and which includes the standard $textsc{k}$-$\varepsilon$ model with standard wall function. A experimental study is also carried out for the 1/100 scale model in circulating water channel. A velocity fields around the ship are measuremed by using particle image velocimetry technique. And the fluid forces acting on the ship hull by uniform current are measured by two axis load cell. The computed and measured velocity fields on the midship section are compared with each other in the view point of velocity dstribution and reattachement length, which shows good agreement in quality. The drag force on the vessel also showed the same tendency in both computational and experimental results. However, the quantitative disagreements are shown due to the three dimensional effect of the experiment. The result are used to determine the functional efficiency and stability of the vessel as a artificial reef.

해양환경정화용 선박의 중앙개구부 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Moonpool Characteristics of a Cleaning Ship for Ocean Environment Purification)

  • Moonpool characteristics of a cleaning skip related with the performance of a skip are experimentally investigated. Resistance performances of the ship and flow patterns in the moonpool are observed, in order to determine the effect of different shaped moonpool. The ways to reduce ship pithing motion caused by force in the moonpool are examined. Experimental results, using a scale model of cleaning ship with moonpool, show that the step arranged in tier under water leads to significant improvements in performance, such us resistance and ship pithing motion. Depending upon the shape of step in the moonpool, the results indicate that the increment of resistance performance may be up to 35%, especially in the case of no step or high step.

자항하는 SUBOFF 모형 난류항적 계측 및 실험식 유도 (Measurement of Turbulent Wake behind a Self-Propelled SUBOFF Model and Derivation of Experimental Equations)

  • This paper presents experimental results and derived experimental equations to investigate the turbulent wake characteristics generated by the self-propelled SUBOFF submarine model. A self-propelled SUBOFF model which was assumed as an axial-symmetric body was used to create wake, and a thin strut was mounted on the topside of the model. The experiments were conducted in a circulating water channel(CWC), and the hot-film was used to measure the turbulence in wake cross-section at the distance range of 0.0~2.0L from the model. The hot film anemometer measured turbulent velocity fluctuations, and the time-averaged mean velocity and turbulent intensity are obtained from the acquired time-series data. Measured results show well the general characteristics of turbulent intensity, kinetic energy and mean velocity distribution. Also, this paper presents derived experimental equations, which is extended result to the reference [1]. These experimental equations show well the general characteristics of the turbulent wake behind the self-propelled submerged body.

  • Manta형 무인잠수정(MUUTV)을 대상으로 회류수조에서의 모형실험을 통해 동일한 동체 모형에 대해 형상이 서로 다른 부가물을 부착했을 때의 동유체력 특성을 실험적으로 검토하였으며, 동유체력 측정 결과를 이론계산치와 비교하였다. 아울러 이를 바탕으로 운동안정성을 검토하여 최적의 부가물 형상 결정의 이론적 근거를 확립하였다.

  • The authors adopt the Unmanned Undersea Vehicle(UUV), which has taken the shape of manta(Sohn et al. 2006). They call here it Manta-type Unmanned Undersea Test Vehicle(MUUTV). MUUTV is based on the same design concept as UUV called Manta Test Vehicle, which was originally built and operated by the Naval Undersea Warfare Center(Lisiewicz and French 2000, Sirmalis et al. 2001). In order to evaluate manoeuvring motion characteristics of MUUTV, numerical simulation technique has been utilized. Previous mathematical model on manoeuvring motion of MUUTV(Sohn et al. 2006) is basically adopted. Result of static experiment carried out in circulating water channel and a part of NSRDC standard model(Feldman 1979) on rotational mode are supplemented. Some of the hydrodynamic derivatives are obtained from model experiment in circulating water channel and the rest of them are estimated.

  • 본 연구에서는 최근 유체역학 유동장 해석분야에서 각광을 받고 있는 PIV 해석기술을 이용하여 소파블럭과 인공어초 주위의 유동을 실험적으로 분석하였다. 실험에 사용된 소파블럭은 현재 현장에서 널리 채택, 운용되는 삼각뿔 tetrapod를 이용하였고 인공어초로는 원통형인 흄관어초 모형을 이용하였다. 유동장 촬영은 소형 회류수조와 아르곤 레이저, 고속 카메라 등을 이용하였다. 최종적으로 영상정보를 이용하여 PIV 해석을 실시, 실험 대상 물체 주위의 경계층(Boundary layer)영역, 박리 현상 등의 유동 특성을 조사하였다.

고속 쌍동형 낚시 레저보트 선형개발과 저항성능에 관한 연구 (Study of Hull Form Development and Resistance Performance of Catamaran-type High Speed Fishing Leisure Boat)

  • A 25ft class fishing leisure boat is developed, and the resistance performances are investigated by a model test in a high-speed circulating water channel. The design speed of the developed ship is 25 knots using a 150 ps outboard engine. A catamanan type hull form using a planing section is adopted considering the Froude number and large deck area. The effect of a center body attached on the bottom of the cross deck is studied under various conditions. Wave patterns are observed to make clear the relationship between the resistance performance and the wave characteristics. The results show that the shape of the center body and the position of the chine line can have a strong effect on the resistance performance in a certain velocity range.

  • 선박의 저항을 줄이기 위하여 발생시킨 기포의 거동을 알기 위해, 선체주위의 기포거동에 과한 기초적 연구를 수행하였다. 본 연구에서는 선체주위에 발생된 기포의 거동에 대하여, 기포의 크기와 발생위치를 변화시켜가며 수치계산 및 실험을 수행하여, 선체주위의 기포거동에 관한 특성을 연구하고자 하였다. 기포의 거동방정식은 기포의 부력을 고려한 Kawakita의 것을 사용하였다. 수치계산은 MAC(Marker And Cell)법을 기초로 한 유한차분법(Finite Difference Method)을 사용하였으며, 실험은 Series 60선형에 대하여 회류수조에서 수행되었다. 실험과 계산은 서로 비교하여 보았다.
