Identifying Common Daily Activities Performed by Older Adults in the United States and South Korea and Changes in Activity Participation Across the Adult Lifespan in South Korea (미국성인과 한국성인의 공통적 일상활동과 한국인의 생애주기 변동에 따른 활동참여 변화)

  • Objective : This study aimed to identify common activities with similar participation levels between community-dwelling individuals in the United States (US) and South Korea (Study 1), and analyze the changes in activity participation patterns across the adult lifespan in South Korea (Study 2). Methods : We administered the online survey-based Activity Card Sort version 3 (ACS-3) to adults living in the US and South Korea. In Study 1, we computed the average participation level and visualized 100 activities of the ACS-3 from both the US and Korean samples. The average participation level across the four age groups in Study 2 was calculated and visualized to understand the changes in patterns of involvement across the four ACS-3 domains in a Korean sample. Results : In Study 1, data from 161 Americans and 163 Koreans were analyzed. Of the 100 activities, 48 (instrumental: 20; leisure: 13; fitness/health: 6; social: 9) demonstrated similar levels of participation between the two samples. In Study 2, data from 420 Koreans were analyzed and a tendency for decreased participation with age was found in all domains, except for the instrumental domain. Conclusion : Common daily activities may be used as a means of intervention across cultures in occupational therapy. Protective approaches and support are recommended to optimize older adults' participation in daily life.

Effects on Students' Creativity by Scientific Observational Activities (과학적 관찰 활동이 중학생드르이 창의성 변화에 미친 영향)

  • Observation is the base of creativity and inquiry. The purposes of this study were to analyze the characteristics of observation of middle school students, and to investigate their creativity by observation activities. The subjects of the study were 25 students for characteristics of observation and 144 students for both observation activity group and non-observation group, as a control, in a middle school. As a result, 25 students wrote 206 cases for the characteristics of observation. The cases were mostly classified in visual ways, such as color, figure, and movement. Students analyzed in primitive ways, observed in the given-limited situation, and confirmed with teachers or other students, The results of this study for creativity by observation activity were analyzed by ANCOVA and this study showed that observation activity was found to be effective in increasing students' creativity (p<0.05).

An Agent-Based Model of Team Dissolution based on Personality Traits (성격 유형을 바탕으로 하는 에이전트 기반 팀 해체 모형)

  • A satisfactory ending of the project is crucial for the students to achieve success experience. In this study, we analyze the teams' dismantling before the project deadline. We propose a team dissolution model based on the assumption that the disharmony caused by the members' personality traits is the main reason for the team break up. The Dark Triad and the Communion are introduced to build the model. We simulated the proposed model using an agent-based simulation and analyzed the results. We found that the ratio of owning DT impacts the maximum allowable size of the team and the team's rate of dissolution, but the team has been able to reduce the team's dissolution rate by increasing the team's harmony. We expect that we efficiently used the developed model with the agent-based simulation for the studies related to the dismantling of teams.

  • Investigation methods of cut slope are conducted generally only geological surface survey to gain engineering geological data of cut slopes. These methods have many problems such as limitation of investigation for a special area. So geophysical investigations such as geotomography, seismic and electrical resistivity methods have been used to search for failure surface in potential failure slopes or failed slopes. But investigation method using the borehole camera is recently a used method and it is thought that this method is more reliable method than other investigation methods because of being able to see by the eyes. Therefore, this paper was conducted investigations of 4 boleholes and BIPS (Borehole Image Processing System) to search for potential sliding surfaces and was applied to obtain information of discontinuity on failed highway slope. As the results of BIPS, we could decide potential sliding surface in the slope and conducted to check slope stability. And decided slope stability measures.

Human Activity Recognition Using Sensor Fusion and Kernel Discriminant Analysis on Smartphones (스마트폰에서 센서 융합과 커널 판별 분석을 이용한 인간 활동 인식)

  • Human activity recognition(HAR) using smartphones is a hot research topic in computational intelligence. Smartphones are equipped with a variety of sensors. Fusing the data of these sensors could enable applications to recognize a large number of activities. However, these devices have fewer resources because of the limited number of sensors available, and feature selection and classification methods are required to achieve optimal performance and efficient feature extraction. This paper proposes a smartphone-based HAR scheme according to these requirements. The proposed method in this paper extracts time-domain features from acceleration sensors, gyro sensors, and barometer sensors, and recognizes activities with high accuracy by applying KDA and SVM. This approach selects the most relevant feature of each sensor for each activity. Our comparison results shows that the proposed system outperforms previous smartphone-based HAR systems.

The Effect of Team-based Learning Activity on College Students' Character Education (팀 기반 학습활동이 대학생의 인성교육에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide a solution through a methodological approach so that character education can be naturally acquired in team-based learning activities. In the spring semester of 2021, a total of 69 college students in two groups were studied, and as a result of the study, the total score of character education virtues in the post-test was greatly improved in the experimental group (p<.001). The correlation between sub-items of team-based learning and pre and post-test results for character sub-items, self-regulation, consideration, communication, self-esteem, and responsibility, were statistically significant. This study shows character education through team-based learning had positive results. However, future research through a wider range of subjects is needed, and various teaching methods are being applied to propose verification of the effectiveness of character education.

The Analysis of the Relationship among Physical Activity Level, Subjective Health Status, COVID-19 Fear applying the Complex Sampling Design

  • This study tried to analyze the relationship among physical activity level, subjective health status, COVID-19 Fear. This study used the 2020 Community Health Survey that includes 229,269 survey data from adults over 19 years old. The complex sampling design was applied including weight, stratification, cluster variables. Through the SPSS statistics program with complex sampling frequency analysis, complex sampling Chi-square and complex sampling regression, this study found followings. First, the group with high level of physical activity showed higher level of subjective health status than the group with low level of physical activity. Second, the group with high level of physical activity showed lower level of COVID-19 fear than the group with low level of physical activity. Third, the group with high level of subjective health status showed lower level of COVID-19 fear than the group with low level of subjective health status. However, this study has the limitation that this study did not check whether participant is diagnosed with Covid-19 or not.

An Analysis of the Capacity and Weight Contents Presented in Textbooks According to the 2015 Revised Mathematics Curriculum (2015 개정 수학과 교육과정에 따른 교과서에 제시된 들이와 무게 내용 분석)

  • Measurement in elementary school mathematics is one of the mathematical concepts that is directly used in real life. This study is based on the fact that mathematics textbooks for 3-4 and 5-6 graders were developed as the government designed and authorized textbooks and the general measurement instruction process is condensed and presented considering the limitation of the textbook's space for the capacity and weight. Its contents were analyzed. The results are as follows. The contents of authorized textbooks and government designed textbook are different in detail but similar overall in comparative activities, recognition, and situation of the need for the introduction of standard unit and estimation activities. Through this, it is proposed that efforts are needed to reform national textbook policies and develop textbooks that can highlight the meaning of each measurement activity and focus on students' activities.

  • 정보화 사회가 도래함에 따라 정보를 가공, 처리 유통하는 활동이 주를 이루고 정보의 가치는 경제적 가치를 창출하는 요소로 연결됐다. 이와 맞물려 ICT(Information & Communication Technology) 산업이 발전함에 따라 정보를 디지털 데이터 형식으로 저장관리 한다. 이러한 이유로 디지털 정보를 노리는 악성 행위들이 디지털 세상에서 문제가 되고 있다. 그중 사용자의 동의 없이 컴퓨터에 불법으로 설치되어 사용자의 디지털 파일(정보)를 인질로 잡아 금전적인 요구를 하는 악성 프로그램인 랜섬웨어의 피해는 날로 증가하고 있다.[1]. 본 논문에서는 운영체제의 시스템 콜 후킹을 통한 읽기/쓰기 권한을 제한함으로써 다양한 종류의 랜섬웨어 중 파일 암호화 기반 랜섬웨어로부터 사용자가 선택적으로 파일을 보호할 수 있는 방안을 제시하려 한다.

  • 연구개발은 일반적으로 많은 투자가 요구되는 반면에 높은 불확실성이 존재한다. 따라서 정부에서 지원받는 제한된 인력과 예산을 기반으로 연구를 수행하는 출연연 입장에서는 연구개발의 효율성을 객관적으로 측정하고, 연구개발 활동에 투입되는 자원과 산출에 대한 체계적인 평가가 중요하다. 즉, 기관에서 운영하는 R&D 예산의 합리적인 배분을 위해서 연구개발 성과의 효율성을 측정하고 이를 다시 전략적으로 R&D 기획에 반영하는 피드백 과정이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 건설분야 정부출연연구기관의 연구부서를 대상으로 연구성과 분석을 통한 효율성을 측정하고자 한다. 이를 통해 제한된 인력과 R&D 연구비용의 합리적인 투자를 위한 전략적 우선순위 선정, 기관의 중장기 발전계획, 경영목표 등에 부합하는 연구과제를 수행하기 위한 정책 및 R&D 기획의 시사점을 제공하고자 한다.
