Objective: The purpose of this study was to perform a systematic literature review focusing on international studies to identify various factors affecting the quality of life(QOL) of dementia patients admitted to long-term care facilities. Methods: From January 2000 to July 2018, the articles published in foreign journals were searched through CINAHL and MEDLINE databases. The main search terms were'dementia or Alzheimer's'. 'quality of life', 'long-term care', 'care home', 'nursing home', 'care institution', 'residential care', 'small- scale setting'. The first 1706 articles were searched, but 10 studies were selected using the selection and exclusion criteria. Results: Analysis of ten cross-sectional studies showed that factors such as physical functioning status, ability to perform activities of daily living, and cognition showed a positive correlation with QOL. Depression and anxiety, severity of dementia, and neuropsychiatric symptoms were found to be negatively correlated with QOL. In addition, two longitudinal studies have confirmed that factors affecting QOL are affected by individual functional status and social environmental factors rather than the size and form of care facilities. Conclusion: This study summarized 10 papers and analyzed them through a systematic review of literature. We found that factors such as individual characteristics and social environment determine QOL of patients with dementia. In this study, various intervention methods to improve QOL of patients with dementia should be developed and used in long-term care facilities by identifying the factors affecting QOL of dementia patients and using them.
The objection of this present study are (1) measurement of patient's expectation toward quality care of dental services. (2) Analysis of differential expectation of dental service by the patient characteristics and (3) presentation of measurement implication for better dental service at the dental clinic. The data used in the study were collected from April 25 to June 9, 2001 and for 77 patients of university dental hospital and 102 patients of dental clinic. The study found, in general, that patient's expectation on the clinic environmental factor was most highly scored followed by dental human factors. The convenience of transportation from the patient's residence to the clinic was highly concerned as be an important factor in dental service utilization.

The data was collected through questionnaire survey along with a face-to-face interview from March. 21 to March. 30, 2011. This major findings of this research are as follows. First, satisfaction of cancer patients regarding health services is determined by the quality, kindness and detailed explanation of medical team. Second, health services satisfaction of cancer patients is strongly related to good convenience facilities and up-to-date medical equipments. Third, satisfaction of cancer patients regarding health services was statistically proved to have no significant relation to easy accessibility of hospital. Therefore, it is very important for university hospitals to improve quality of medical staff such as ability, kindness and detailed explanation of doctor, offer good convenience facilities and the most advanced equipments. It is expected that the outcomes of this study will contribute to the satisfaction improvement for cancer patients in university hospitals.

As the number of elderly people rapidly increases, needs of patient safety monitoring system also increases in indoor and outdoor medical facilities. With developing technologies related to sensors and information and communication technology, various dementia patient monitoring systems have been proposed. However, previous studies that depend on wearable devices provides limited functionalities. In this paper, we designed an integrated system that includes smart devices to monitor patient's status, user friendly UI/UX, and interaction with hospital information system. Medical teams and carers can receive satus of each patient in real-time and trace the location of dementia patients outdoor as well as indoor by using the proposed system.

Hospital out-shopping by local patients has become more popular. In particular, many cancer patients have visited hospitals in the capital area to get better medical services regardless of how far the hospitals are from their home. However this kind of hospital out-shopping may discontinue medical treatment and cause a waste of medical resources including manpower. In addition, it creates additional economic and social expenses such as caretakers' transportation and lodging expenses. It is necessary to study patients who would take the medical treatment in Busan go to Seoul for better medical services are more satisfied based on objective data. For this, a questionnaire survey has been performed against 223 cancer patients who had a surgery in Busan and 187 patents who had an operation in Seoul. According to the survey, the patients who had an operation in the capital area(Group A) were more satisfied than the patients who had a surgery in Busan(Group B) in terms of convenience facilities, doctors' competence. The purpose of this study is to suggest plans to enhance client satisfaction through improving the quality of hospital administration services. For accomplishing the purpose, we conducted empirical research with classifying hospital administration services into administrative staff service, medical staff service, facility service, and institutional service. Based on the results of this study, suggestions were made as follows for improving the quality of hospital administration services. First, in administrative staff service, detailed explanations should be provided about the items of medical bills, and patients' waiting time should be reduced through fast processing and smooth cooperation among departments. Second, in medical staff service, the process of medical service should be simplified for the accurate observance of appointment schedules, and the time to start outpatient service and the time to complete the discharge process should be earlier than now. Third, in facility service, convenient facilities and resting places should be prepared, parking facilities should be expanded, and menus should be improved for clients. Fourth, in institutional service, detailed medical service costs contents should be disclosed and plans should be made for the efficiency of services.
