Effect of Application Level of Swine Slurry on Production and Nutritive Value of Rye (돈분액비 시용수준이 호밀의 수량 및 사료가치에 미치는 영향)

  • Livestock manure have been utilized as fertilizer, and trying to make resources natural circulation of organic materials. This experiment was carried out to investigate the effect of swine slurry on production and nutritive value of rye, and to determine optimal application level for 2 years from Oct. 2000 to May 2002 in the experimental field of Grassland and Forage Crops Division, National Livestock Research Institute. Summary of the results were as follows. The application of swine slurry 200% Plot showed the best regrowth after winter and lodging was severe in all plots except non-fertilized plot. Plant height was lower in lodging plots. The dry matter yield was not significantly difference between chemical fertilizer(CF) plot and swine slurry application plots, and swine slurry 100% + CF 50% plot showed the highest yield among manure application plots. The dry matter yield per input nitrogen was 80kg in CF, 81kg in swine slurry 100% application plot. Above the level, it was decreased severely by 41 ∼ 61kg. Conclusively, application to swine slurry 100% showed superior productivity considering the DM yield per input nitrogen, That level would be recommended to produce higher yield and to conserve environment.

Biological activity of crude polyphenol fractions of Cedrela sinensis isolated using different extraction methods (참죽의 추출방법에 따른 폴리페놀 분획의 생리기능성)

  • The biological activity of crude polyphenol fractions (WphF, EphE, VphF, and SphF) extracted from Cedrela sinensis using hot water, ethanol, and enzymes such as Viscozyme and Shearzyme was examined in this study. The yield of VphF was the highest (43.44%) among all fractions. The total polyphenol and flavonoid content of the fractions were highest after ethanol extraction (447.98 and 337.49 mg/g, respectively). Fractions obtained after hot water and ethanol treatment showed high antioxidant activity. All fractions, except for WphF, showed a significantly higher ${\alpha}$-glucosidase inhibitory activity than the acarbose. EphF and WphF showed the high acetylcholinesterase inhibition activity. All fractions showed more than 50% tyrosinase inhibition activity at 2 mg/mL concentration. According to these results, the crude polyphenol fractions from C. sinensis showed high antioxidative, ${\alpha}$-glucosidase inhibitory, and tyrosinase inhibitory activities. This study suggests that crude polyphenol fractions from C. sinensis, especially the WphF and EphF fractions, are good sources of functional food.

Antioxidant activities and α-Glucosidase Inhibition Effects of Chicories Grown in Hydroponics Added with Cr3+ or Selenium (Cr3+ 또는 Selenium 첨가 배양액으로 재배한 치커리의 항산화활성 및 α-glucosidase저해효과)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the effect on the growth and antioxidant activities of Cichorium intybus L.(CLE), Cichorium intybus L. var. folisum 'treviso' (CLET), Cichorium intybus L. var. folisum 'rosaitaliana' (CLER) in hydroponics added with $Cr^{3+}$ or Selenium (Se) for 4 weeks. Total polyphenol, total flavonoids contents and FRAP values of three species of chicory were grown hydroponically with $Cr^{3+}$ or Se were increased. These extracts were also showed stronger DPPH and ABTS scavenging activity than chicory extracts. In particular, chicories added with $Cr^{3+}$ had higher antioxidant activities than chicories added with Se. CLER and CLE extracts added with $Cr^{3+}$ were also showed ${\alpha}$-glucosidase inhibition activities. These results indicate that chicories were cultivated in culture fluid added with $Cr^{3+}$ or Se could be used as high functional vegetables.

Physicochemical and sensory characteristics of Aster glehni Kimchi during storage at different fermentation temperatures (숙성온도를 달리한 섬쑥부쟁이 김치의 이화학적 및 관능적 특성)

  • This study was conducted to increase the value of Aster glehni as a useful food resource. The Hunter L, a and b Values of Aster glehni leaves Were 34.23${\pm}$2.80, -10.59${\pm}$1.80 and 13.29${\pm}$2.51, respectively. The Shearing force and contents of tannin and dietary fiber were 4701.2g, 100.9ppm and 37.1%, respectively. The minerals identified in Aster glehni were Ca (6.93mg/kg), K (45.36mg/kg), Mg (1.70mg/kg), Fe (0.36mg/kg) and Na (1.26mg/kg). Aster glehni Kimchi was packed in polyethylene film (200g) and fermented at 20 and 4$^{\circ}C$. With regards to the color changes, the Aster glehni Kimchi fermented at 20$^{\circ}C$ showed greater increases in the Hunter L, a and b values than a 4$^{\circ}C$. The pH of the Kimchi decreased and acidity increased with storage time at both temperatures. The ascorbic acid contents decreased sharply with storage time and by about 85% at 20$^{\circ}C$ after 5 days, and 73% at 4$^{\circ}C$ after 30 days. The reducing sugar content also decreased with storage time at both 20 and 4$^{\circ}C$. The results of the sensory evaluation showed the optimum ripening times of the Aster glehni Kimchi to be 1∼3 days at 20$^{\circ}C$ and less than 20 days at 4$^{\circ}C$.

A Quantative Evaluation Method of the Quality of Natural Language Sentences based on Genetic Algorithm (유전자 알고리즘에 기반한 자연언어 문장의 정량적 질 평가 방법)

  • 본 논문에서는 자연언어 문장의 객관적 정량적인 질 측정 방법의 구축에 대해 설명하고, 이를 문장 퇴고 시스템의 사례에 적용해 본다. 문장의 질을 평가한다는 것은 본질적으로 주관적이고 정량화가 어려운 작업이기 때문에, 이 과정에서 질의 객관적 계량화가 가능한지 여부가 가장 중요한 문제가 된다. 이 논문에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 유전자 알고리즘을 이용한 진화적 접근 방법을 통해 객관적이고 정량적인 질의 측정 공식을 유도하는 방법론을 제시하였다. 이 논문에서 제시한 방법론의 핵심은 간단히 말해서 사람이 행하는 정성적인 판단을, 이에 가장 근접하는 정량적 측정 체계로 전환시키는 것이라고 보면 된다. 이것을 위해 정량화 문제를 문장의 단순 언어 특징들의 변화값을 이용한 최적화 문제로 환원시키고, 다시 이 최적화 문제를 유전자 알고리즘을 이용해 해결함으로써 문제를 효과적으로 해결할 수 있었다. 실험 결과를 보면, 본 논문에서 제시한 최적화 방법은 주어진 훈련용 예제와 검증용 예제 중 각각 99.84%, 99.88%를 만족시키는 해를 찾아내었으므로 정량적 질 평가 공식의 유도에 매우 효과적임을 알 수 있었다. 또한 도출된 측정 공식을 이용해서 실제 퇴고 시스템 평가에 적용한 결과 문장 질의 측정에 매우 유용하게 이용될 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이와 같이 질의 정량적 평가가 가능하다는 사실이 갖는 또 한가지 중요한 의미는 최종 사용자의 구매 의사나 개발자의 공학적 의사 결정을 위한 객관적 성능 평가 자료의 제공에 이 방법이 유용하게 사용될 수 있다는 점이다.Abstract This paper describes a method of building a quantitative measure of the quality of natural language sentences, particularly produced by document revision systems. Evaluating the quality of natural language sentences is intrinsically subjective, so what is most important as to the evaluation is whether the quality can be measured objectively. To solve such problem of objective measurability, genetic algorithm, an evolutionary learning method, is employed in this paper. The underlying standpoint of this approach is that building the quality measures is a task of constructing a formulae that produces as close results as can to the qualitative decisions made by humans. For doing this, the problem of measurability has been simply reduced to an optimization problem using the change of the values of simple linguistic parameters found in sentences, and the reduced problem has been solved effectively by the genetic algorithm. Experimental result shows that the optimization task satisfied 99.84% and 99.88% of the given objectives for training and validation samples, respectively, which means the method is quite effective in constructing the quantitative measure of the quality of natural language sentences. The actual evaluation result of a revision system shows that the measure is useful to quantize the quality of sentences. Another important contribution of this measure would be to provide an objective performance evaluation data of natural language systems on a basis of which end-users and developers can make their decision to fit their own needs.

Development of Yeast Leavened Pan Bread Using Commercial Doenjangs(Korean Soybean Paste): 2. Correlation between Factors Relating with Dough Extensibility and Bread Quality in Addition of Doenjang (시판 된장을 이용한 식빵 제조: 2. 된장 첨가에 따른 반죽 신장성 관련인자와 빵품질 특성과의 상관성 조사)

  • This study was carried out to examine the effect of added Doenjang on wheat flour dough and gluten rheological properties using Micro-extensigraph method and correlation between factors relating with Doenjang or dough rheology and bread Quality. There were big differences in pretense activity and free amino acid contents among seven commercial Doenjangs. The addition of Doenjang to wheat flour dough required increased mixing time for gluten development. Dry gluten content increased significantly with addition of less than 5.0% of Doenjang powder. As the amount of Doenjang powder increased, dough peak force decreased and extensibility increased up to a certain level an then decreased, producing the weak dough. This phenomena was seen more obviously in wet gluten than wheat flour dough. Especially, the Doeniang having high pretense activity and high cystein content, caused highly extensible weak dough resulting in bread with high loaf volume and tender texture at the levels of 2.5% added Doenjang. Increase of dry gluten content and extensibility of wheat flour dough or wet gluten positively correlated (r=0.76, 0.91, 0.93), with loaf volume and negatively with hardness values, respectively. Therefore, it was concluded that improvement of bread quality with Doenjang resulted from increase of gluten content and dough extensibility.

Quality Characteristics of Low-Dose Electron Beam Irradiated-Imported Navel Orange during Storage at Low Temperature (3°C) (저선량 전자선 조사 수입 오렌지의 저온 저장 중 품질 특성)

  • This study investigated the effects of low-dose electron beam irradiation treatment on physicochemical and sensorial properties of imported navel oranges during storage at $3^{\circ}C$ for 45 days. The samples were irradiated at doses of 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, and 1.0 kGy, and changes in their color values, hardness, Brix/acid ratio, total sugar contents, reducing sugar contents, vitamin C contents, and sensory evaluation were investigated. There were no significant differences between non-irradiated and irradiated samples in terms of color values, Brix/acid ratio, total sugar contents, total reducing sugar contents, and vitamin C contents. Hardness of irradiated sample at 1 kGy decreased significantly in the early storage period, but the difference between non-irradiated and irradiated samples decreased again at the end of storage. For the sensory evaluation, scores of color, sweetness, flavor, and overall acceptability decreased as irradiation dose and storage period increased. Samples irradiated at over 0.8 kGy showed low preference in all scores except color. These results suggest that electron beam irradiation below 0.6 kGy does not affect physicochemical and sensory properties; thus, electron beam irradiation up to 0.6 kGy in imported navel oranges is optimum for minimizing quality changes and disinfestation treatment simultaneously.

Effects of Green Manure Crops and Rotational Cropping System on Growth and Yield of Sesame(Sesamum indicum L.) (참깨의 연작장해 경감 녹비작물 선발 및 윤작효과)

  • The green manure crops such as rye, hairy vetch and scotch oat were applied to reduce the injury by continuous cropping system(CCS) of sesame(Sesamum indicum L.) cultivation, which manure crops was sowed in latter-September or mid-October and returned to soil in the next year of May. The growth and yields were increased as 33%(65.0kg/10a) in the rotational cropping system(RCS) compared to continuous cropping system of 48.9kg/10a. In the CCS of sesame, it was increased as $10{\sim}15%$ in the green manure crop cultivation, and rye cultivation was the most effective crop to reduce the injury of continuous cropping in the green manure crops. The RCS displayed lower disease outbreak and Fussarium oxysporum density in the soil compared with the CCS, and the green manure crop showed good effect in the CCS of sesame. In the RCS, the porosity was most high in the RCS and CCS of rye cultivation, while rye and hairy vetch was effective way to reduce the injury of continuous cropping. The outbreaks of wilt disease and phytophthora blight were increased as the CCS years, however displayed lowest outbreaks of disease and the yields showed highest in the rye cultivation.

  • 1. 수도(水稻)의 생육기간(生育其間)만이라도 심수하(甚水下)에 있어야하는 논은 투수성(透水性)의 영향(影響)을 받아야 하고, 동영향(同影響)은 수도생육(水稻生育)과 관련(關聯)을 갖는다. 즉(卽) 투수성(透水性)이 클 경우(境遇)에는 물의 소비(消費)가 많을 뿐만이 아니라 영양분(營養分)의 유실(流失) 및 유효화(有效化)가 억제(抑制)되고, 투수성(透水性)이 적을 경우(境遇)에에는 심(甚)한 환원상태(還元狀態)의 발달(發達)로 유해성분(有害成分)이 집적(集積)되어 수도(水稻)의 생육(生育)은 해(害)를 입게된다. 이렇게 생각하면 투수성(透水性)으로 본 벼 생육(生肉)에 가장 적합(適合)한 토양조건(土壤條件)이 있을 것인바 이 조건(條件)은 토양(土壤)의 종류외(種類外)에도 수도(水稻)의 품종(品種)이나 생육시기(生育時期)에 따라 다른것이다. 2. 투수성(透水性)이 큰 토양(土壤)에는 잘 유거(流去)되지 않는 비료(肥料)(유기물비료(有機物肥料)나 용성연비(熔成憐肥) 등(等))를 쓸것이며, 투수성(透水性)이 적고 유해성분(有害成分)이 집적(集積)되기 쉬운 토양(土壤)에는 류산근(류硫酸根)이나 유기질(有機質) 비료등(肥料等) 유해성분(有害成分)의 집적(集積)을 증가(增加)할 우려가 있는 비료(肥料)의 시용(施用)을 삼가야 한다. 3. 기왕(旣往) 국내(國內)에서 실시(實施)한 시험결과(試驗結果)에 의(依)하면 중점토(重粘土)에서는 연산(憐酸), 중점토(重粘土)와 퇴화염토(退化鹽土)에서는 가리결핍(加里缺乏)을 일으키기 쉬운것 같으나 그 밖의 토양(土壤)에서는 뚜렷한 경향(傾向)이 인정(認定)되지 않는다. 4. 투수성(透水性)이 큰 토양(土壤)에서는 산적토(山赤土)를 객토(客土)하는 경우(境遇)가 많은 바 이때에는 금비(金肥) 특(特)히 질소질비료(窒素質肥料)를, 객토(客土)하지 않았을때 보다 많이 써야 하는것이 일반적(一般的)이다. 5. 투수성(透水性)이 약(弱)하고 유해성분(有害成分)이 집적(集積)되기 쉬운 논에는 우선(于先) 석회(石灰)(소석회(消石灰))를 시용(施用)하여 토양반응(土壤反應)을 높여야 하며 심(甚)한 노후답(老朽畓)이나 퇴화염토(退化鹽土)에는 석회(石灰)와 아울러 규산질(珪酸質) 비료(肥料)를 시용(施用)한 연후(然後)에 비료(肥料) 삼요소(三要素) 시용(施用)을 고려(考慮)해야 할 것이다. 산성(酸性)으로 기울어져있는 많은 우리나라 논 토양(土壤)에는 알칼리성(性) 비료(肥料)인 용성연비(熔成憐肥)를 시용(施用)하는 것이 효과적(效果的) 일것이다. 6. 소석회(消石灰)와 규산(珪酸)의 시용(施用)은 연산(憐酸)과 가리(加里)의 요구량(要求量)을 증가(增加) 할것이며 비료(肥料) 삼요소(三要素)에 대(對)한 수도(水稻)의 응수곡선(應酬曲線)의 모습을 기왕(旣往)의 것과 달리 할것이다.

Quality Characteristics of Seaweed Kimchi Containing Kjellmaniella crassifolia and Mytilus coruscus Seasoning (Kjellmaniella crassifolia와 Mytilus coruscus 조미액을 첨가한 해조김치의 품질특성)

  • In order to improve the utilization of seaweeds, two kinds of mixed seasoning concentrates (KMS, MKS) were prepared with Kjellmaniella crassifolia and Mytilus coruscus as main ingredients. Fermentation experiments were carried out at $4^{\circ}C$ for 70 days with Kimchi. As a result, SK-A showed a decrease in pH and an increase in acidity. Salinity was not significantly different after 70th day. Reducing sugar content was higher in mixed seasoning group. Lactic acid bacteria Leuconostoc sp. and Lactobacillus sp. Increased in the control group after 20 days of fermentation. The lightness was higher in the control group from the early stage of dipping to 30 days, and the degree of yellowing was higher than that of SK-B group from 20 days. The hardness of the SK-A group was high at the early stage of immersion and at 10th day. The content of aspartic acid and glutamic acid in free amino acid SK-A group was significantly higher (p<0.05). The content of sweet amino acids was significantly higher in the SK-A group on the 0th, 10th, and 30th days of fermentation than the other groups (p<0.05). The sensory test results showed that SK-A showed the most favorable taste. As a result of reviewing the above results, it is expected that SK-A group immersed in 100 g of seasoning liquid KMS made from Kjellmaniella crassifolia and Mytilus coruscus as a subordinate material will provide taste and nutrition to consumers.
