Analysis of Runoff Characteristics of NPS Pollution through long-term monitoring from Coal yard (장기모니터링을 통한 저탄장의 비점오염물질 유출특성 분석)

  • 본 연구는 3년(2008~2011년)간의 연구기간동안 저탄장에서 발생하는 유량과 수질농도를 분석하여 저탄장의 비점오염 유출특성을 파악하고자 하였다. 연구지점은 강원도 태백시에 위치한 가행 광산으로써 광산작업으로 인해 생산되는 비축탄(석탄과 광재)을 저장하는 대규모 저탄시설이다. 저탄장에는 강우로 인해 발생하는 강우유출수의 오염물질 배출량을 줄이기 위해 콘크리트 배수로와 침사지 시설이 설치되어 있다. 침사지를 거쳐 하천으로 유입되기 전에 강우유출수의 모니터링을 위해 모니터링 시설(유량계, 자동수질시료채취기, 강우량계)을 설치하여 유량과 농도를 측정하였다. 또한 정확한 강우량 측정을 위해 자기우량계를 설치하였다. 연구결과 강우에 의해 유출이 발생한 최저 강우량은 6.0 mm 인 것으로 나타났으며, 강우사상의 강우량은 6.0~248.4 mm의 범위로 나타났다. 이때 평균 강우강도는 0.6~13.1 mm/hr 인 것으로 나타났으며, 강우에 발생한 강우유출수의 유출률은 0.02~0.40으로 나타났다. 저탄장의 경우 저탄장의 표면을 비닐 캔버스로 덮어두기 때문에 불투수층이 많아 6.0 mm 정도의 적은양의 강우가 발생해도 유출이 발생하는 것으로 나타났다. 각 강우사상의 EMC 농도는 SS 6.5~712.3 mg/L, $COD_{Cr}$ 11.6~263.9 mg/L, $COD_{Mn}$ 3.4~106.8 mg/L, $BOD_5$ 1.0~56.0 mg/L, TN 0.145~5.600 mg/L, TP 0.101~2.526 mg/L, DOC 0.6~22.0 mg/L로 나타났다. 저탄장에서 측정된 수질농도는 기존 가행 광산에 관한 연구에 비해 SS 농도가 낮게 산정 되었으며, 이는 저탄장에 설치되어 있는 침사지 시설의 영향인 것으로 판단된다. 본 연구의 결과는 저탄장에서 발생하는 비점오염원의 유출특성을 파악하고, 모델링이나 환경정책에 필요한 기초자료로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 그러나 강우량, 면적, 피복율 또는 침사지 시설 등의 영향에 대한 추가적인 모니터링을 통한 다각적인 분석의 연구가 진행되어야 할 것으로 판단된다.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the hydraulic stability of the vegetation mat method on high water revetment. Recently, the river is managed not only for the flood control also for the environmental friendliness. For improving the environmental function of the river, the ecological river restoration projects are being performed. To ensure the stability of flood control, instead of removal of concrete revetment, the vegetation mat method has been widely used on the recovery soil. However, the recovery soil method often failed to be stable against the flood, which has caused the economic loss. In this study, the rate of soil loss is evaluated by the hydraulic experiments. Also, the velocity distribution on high water revetment is analyzed by both the hydraulic and numerical experiments.

Development of Crack Monitoring System for Self-healing Repair Mortar Surface Using Image Processing Technique (이미지 처리 기법을 이용한 자기치유 보수 모르타르 시공표면의 균열 모니터링 시스템 개발)

  • In this study, It was developed an monitoring cracks system based on image processing techniques in order to measure cracks, which are major damages in concrete, and to convert them into a database. The crack monitoring system consists of crack image captured equipment and a crack detection and analysis software. This system provides objective and quantitative data by replacing the conventional visual inspection. The crack detection algorithm w as verified through an indoor test using virtual cracks, and the amount of crack detection and crack width change was monitored by applying it to the self-healing repair mortar construction site. In the case of the crack width detected through image analysis, the maximum difference from the actual crack width was 0.0334mm. It was possible to detect microcracks of 0.1mm or less, and the effect of crack healing over time of the self-healing repair mortar was confirmed trough the field test.

Evaluation of the Effect of Rust Formation and the Characteristics of Sound Absorption of PSMA Concrete Mixture Using Steel Slag Aggregate (제강 슬래그 골재를 이용한 PSMA 혼합물의 녹물 발생 영향 및 흡음 특성 평가)

  • In order to expanding of the use of steel slag, a by-product of steel industry, as a road paving construction material, this present study confirmed the possibility of the rust formation of steel slag aggregate and evaluated the durability performance and the noise reduction characteristics of asphalt concrete mixture. As a result of conducting the rust formation test of aggregate, no rust was observed in both aggregate, so it is judged that the possibility of rust formation in the actual road water environment is very low. As a result of performing the moisture resistance test, all mixtures showed a tensile strength ratio exceeding 85%, satisfied the standard as asphalt mixture. In addition, the sound absorption coefficient of the steel slag aggregate mixture was measured to be higher than that of the general aggregate mixture. Accordingly, it is speculated th at th e steel slag aggregate mixture can more effectively respond to road noise reduction than the general mixture.

  • This study applies to the surface modification technique by coating the surface of aggregates using the modified paste such as cementitious materials in order to develop completely recycling technology of coarse aggregate. In this case, coating thickness of modified aggregate can be considered that the decision is dependent on the viscosity and tenacity of modified paste. In this study identify the flow properties of the fresh modified paste, and examined for the coating thickness of modified aggregate. As a result, it was possible to design a quantitative coating thickness of modified paste assuming that a modified paste to a Bingham Fluid and consider by excess paste theory and rheology constant (yield value). Accordingly, it is considered that the quantitative mix design of concrete using by surface modified aggregates will be possible.

Comparison of Deep Learning-based CNN Models for Crack Detection (콘크리트 균열 탐지를 위한 딥 러닝 기반 CNN 모델 비교)

  • The purpose of this study is to compare the models of Deep Learning-based Convolution Neural Network(CNN) for concrete crack detection. The comparison models are AlexNet, GoogLeNet, VGG16, VGG19, ResNet-18, ResNet-50, ResNet-101, and SqueezeNet which won ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge(ILSVRC). To train, validate and test these models, we constructed 3000 training data and 12000 validation data with 256×256 pixel resolution consisting of cracked and non-cracked images, and constructed 5 test data with 4160×3120 pixel resolution consisting of concrete images with crack. In order to increase the efficiency of the training, transfer learning was performed by taking the weight from the pre-trained network supported by MATLAB. From the trained network, the validation data is classified into crack image and non-crack image, yielding True Positive (TP), True Negative (TN), False Positive (FP), False Negative (FN), and 6 performance indicators, False Negative Rate (FNR), False Positive Rate (FPR), Error Rate, Recall, Precision, Accuracy were calculated. The test image was scanned twice with a sliding window of 256×256 pixel resolution to classify the cracks, resulting in a crack map. From the comparison of the performance indicators and the crack map, it was concluded that VGG16 and VGG19 were the most suitable for detecting concrete cracks.

  • Reclaimed aggregates through waste asphalt are produced and utilized for waste resource utilization. This study conducts quality tests and performance evaluations for mixtures with Rejuvenator applied to reclaimed asphalt concrete. Through quality testing and performance evaluation, the study investigates whether there is any problem in using reclaimed asphalt concrete by replacing general hox mix asphalt. As a result, the values of ordinary hot mix asphalt are similar to those of reclaimed asphalt, suggesting that the substitution does not create critical engineering issues. Using reclaimed asphalt concrete has the advantages of increasing economic efficiency and utilizing waste resources.

  • Although anti-washout grouts are used extensively in underwater targets, major constraints continue to be associated with their use. These include poor bonding strength, poor pumpability, and loss of high strength in everyday engineering applications. In this study, based on the literature pertaining to self-compacted, non-dispersive, anti-washout grouts, a review of research trends in anti-washout grouts for underwater construction and sealing of karst cavities was carried out in order to determine the problems faced in this field. Grouts used under water suffer a loss of strength and bonding strength in comparison to grouts cast in air. Researchers are designing high-viscosity grouts to overcome the inrush of water and seal karst cavities; however, in doing so, they have inadvertently caused serious problems pertaining to the pumpability of these grouts and concretes in deep target locations. Thus, the majority of the anti-washout grouts and concretes that have been developed are not applicable to deep target environments, instead being suitable for only near-surface targets.

Experimental Study on Enhancing Adhesion-Reactive Acrylic Compounds for Pore Filling in Additive Manufactured Metal Lattice Structures (금속 적층 제조 격자 구조체의 공극 충진용 부착력 증진 반응성 아크릴 화합물에 대한 실험적 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to manufacture a variable density - hybrid lattice structure control by filling the pore of the metal addictive manufactured lattice structure with lightweight reactive acrylic compounds(RAC). To apply the variable density - hybrid lattice structure to the construction industry, the enhancing adhesion - reactive acrylic compounds(EA-RAC) which increased the adhesion strength was manufactured by adding ordinary portland cement to the RAC. Finally, the EA-RAC was filled into the lattice structure to test the specific density, water absorption, and adhesion strength of the variable density - hybrid lattice structure. The results were obtained with density controllable, water absorption less than 1.0%, and 1-day bonding strength of 1.78 MPa to 1.98 MPa.
