  • 견 피브로인 막을 통한 투과실험으로, 종전의 견섬유로는 얻을 수 없었던 투과 및 확산거동에 대하여, Dual mechanism을 적용하여 고찰하였으며, 아울러 염료의 구조가 이러한 물리화학적 성질에 가지는 영향에 관해서 고찰한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1) 전체적인 확산계수 $D_{(c)}$는 주로 Langmuir-type 확산계수 $D_{L}$에 의해서 결정된다. 2) 농도에 따른 확산계수의 조사에서 Dye I (monobasic dye)에서는 뚜렷한 최대치가 관찰되었으나, Dye III(trisulfonic acid dye)에서 $D_{p}$는 거의 의미가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 3) 견 피브로인에 있어서 산성염료의 확산은 sulfonic acid group의 도입에 따라 정점 느리게 되고, $D_{L}$은 온도의 증가에 따라 더 큰 값을 나타냈다. 4) 염료 음이온의 하전수가 클수록 확산계수는 chemical potential gradient model에 더욱 더 가깝게 된다. 5) 투과의 활성화 에너지는 sulfonic acid group의 도입에 따라 감소되었다.다.

분자동역학 모의실험을 이용한 Lennard-Johns 입자계의 확산계수 계산

  • 일반적으로 어떠한 계의 크기가 커지면 확산계수 (Diffusion coefficient, D) 는 증가하는 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 원자의 개수와 계의 크기를 증가시키면서 정방계와 직방계에서의 확산계수를 계산하였다. 확산계수를 계산하는 방법으로 Einstein-Smoluchowski 관계식을 사용하였다. 정방계에서 x, y, z축의 확산계수를 계산해본 결과, 계의 크기와 원자의 개수가 증가할 때 각 축의 확산계수도 같이 증가하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 그리고 직방계에서 x, y축의 셀 길이를 고정시키고 z축의 셀 길이를 늘여가며 확산계수를 계산해본 결과, x, y축의 확산계수는 정방계와 비슷하게 증가하는 경향을 보였으나 z축의 확산계수는 변화가 거의 없음을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • Adatom kinetics on the surfaces of Co overlayers, prepared on the W(110) surface, was studied with scanning tunneling microscopy. By counting the number-density of the adatom-islands, we estimated the ratio of adatom diffusion coefficients. The ratio $D_{W(110)}:D_{1ML\;Co}:D_{2ML\;Co}$ was measured to be 1 : 125 : 33000 at room temperature, where $D_{W(110)},\;D_{1ML\;Co}$, and $D_{2ML\;Co}$ are the diffusion coefficients on bare W(110) surface, on one-monolayer Co overlayer, and on two-monolayers Co overlayers, respectively. An increased diffusion coefficient on two-ML Co overlayers, relative to that on one-ML Co overlayers, was explained with the heteroepitaxial strain effect.

  • The measurement of cell constant in a diaphragm-cell method is the most important factor. In order to get the correct cell constant, the diffusion coefficients of potassium chloride were measured, at various concentration and temperature of potassium chloride solution, and at the stirring rate in the cell. The pseudo-binary diffusion coefficients of organic aroma component (benzaldehyde) in sugar solution has been measured at various concentration and temperature with the cell constant obtained above. Experimental results were compared and discussed with the semi-empirical epuations from literatures. And, especially, the diffusion coefficient of benzaldehyde, $D_{ba}$ for a small solute diffusing in a viscous solvent of larger molecules is proportional to the -0.82 power of the viscosity of aqueous sugar solution, ${\mu}$ at constant temperature, $D_{ba}{\mu}^{0.82}=constant$.

Analysis Technique for Chloride Penetration using Double-layer and Time-Dependent Chloride Diffusion in Concrete (콘크리트내의 이중구조와 시간의존성을 고려한 염화물 해석기법의 개발)

  • With varying conditions of concrete surface, induced chloride contents are changed and this is a key parameter for steel corrosion and service life in RC (Reinforced Concrete) structures. Many surface enhancement techniques using impregnation have been developed, however the evaluation techniques for chloride behavior through doubly layered media and time-dependent diffusion are rarely proposed. This paper presents an analysis technique considering double-layer concrete and time-dependent diffusion behavior, and the results are compared with those from the previous test results through reverse analysis. The chloride profiles from the surface-impregnated concrete exposed to atmospheric, tidal, submerged zone for 2 years are adopted. Furthermore surface chloride contents and diffusion coefficients are obtained, and are compared with those from Life365. Through consideration of time effect, the relative error decreases from 0.28 to 0.20 in atmospheric, 0.29 to 0.11 in tidal, and 0.54 to 0.40 in submerged zone, respectively, which shows more reasonable results. Utilizing the diffusion coefficients from Life365, relative errors increases and it needs deeper penetration depth (e) and lower diffusion coefficient ratio ($D_1/D_2$) due to higher diffusion coefficient.

Correlation of the Speed of Enhancement of Hepatic Hemangiomas with Intravoxel Incoherent Motion MR Imaging (간혈관종의 조영증강속도와 복셀내비결집운동 MR영상과의 상관관계)

  • Purpose : To evaluate the relationship between the speed of enhancement of hepatic hemangiomas on gadolinium-enhanced MRI and ADC values by using various parameters, including the D, f, $D^*$ and $ADC_{fit}$ on intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) MR Imaging. Materials and Methods: The institutional review board approved this retrospective study. A total of 47 hepatic hemangiomas from 39 patients were included (20 men and 19 women). The hemangiomas were classified into three types according to the enhancement speed of the hepatic hemangiomas on gadolinium-enhanced dynamic T1-weighted images: rapid (Type A), intermediate (Type B), and slow (Type C) enhancement. The D, f, $D^*$ and $ADC_{fit}$ values were calculated using IVIM MR imaging. The diffusion/perfusion parameters and ADC values were compared among the three types of hemangiomas. Results: Both the $ADC_{fit}$ and D values of type C were significantly lower than those of type A (P = 0.0022, P = 0.0085). However, for the f and $D^*$, there were no significant differences among the three types. On DWI with all b values (50, 200, 500 and $800sec/mm^2$), the ADC values of type C were significantly lower than those of the type A (P < 0.012). For b values with $800sec/mm^2$, the $ADC_{800}$ values of the type C hemangiomas were significantly lower than those of type B (P = 0.0021). We found a negative correlation between hepatic hemangioma enhancement type and $ADC_{50}$ (${\rho}=-0.357$, P = 0.014), $ADC_{200}$ (${\rho}=-0.537$, P = 0.0001), $ADC_{500}$ (${\rho}=-0.614$, P = 0.0001), and $ADC_{800}$ (${\rho}=-0.607$, P = 0.0001). Therefore, four ADC values of $ADC_{50}$, $ADC_{200}$, $ADC_{500}$, and $ADC_{800}$ were decreased with decreasing enhancement speed. Conclusion: Hepatic hemangiomas had variable ADCs according to the type of enhancement, and the reduced ADCs in slowly enhancing hemangiomas may be related to the reduced pure molecular diffusion (D).

Hydrodynamic Diffusivity of Spherical Particles Suspended in Polymer Solution (고분자용액에 분산된 구형입자의 수력학적 확산계수)

  • 본 연구에서는 고분자용액을 분산매로한 현탁액 내에서 입자의 수력학적확산에 관 한 실험적인 연구를 수행하여다. 입자로는 평균직경 275마이크론의 polymethlmethacrylate (PMMA)구형입자를 사용하였고, 분산매로는 PMMA 입자와 밀도르 맞춘 글리세린과 에틸 렌글리콜의 혼합용액에 고분자를 첨가하여 사용하였다. 고분자로는 분자량 6백만의 시약용 폴리아크릴아마이드를 사용하였다. 입자농도는 50%이었다. 용액의 농도는 0∼700ppm이었으 며 이러한 용액은 전단박화현상을 나타내지 않았다. 확산계수는 쿠엣장치 내에서 입자가 두 원통사이에서 아래쪽의 빈 공간으로 확산할 때 시간에 따른 점도측정결과로부터 예측하여 다. 본 연구의 결과 뉴튼성유체의 경우와는 달리 무차원확산계수(D/2)가 일정하지 않으며 전단율이 증가될수록 점점 감소하는 현상을 나타내었다. 고분자의 농도가 증가하는 경우에 는 무차원 확산계수가 감솨는 것을 볼수있었다. 이러한 무차원 확산계수의 감소는 유동하는 현탁액 내에서 입자간의 상호작용이 뉴튼성유체에 비하여 가역적인 것에 기인하는 것으로 판단된다.

  • The diffusion coefficients in polyimide/N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) systems were proposed using tile Vrentas-Duda's hole free volume theory. Several free volume parameters included in the diffusion coefficients were obtained from the fundamental physical properties of polyimide and NMP and group contribution theory, and the pre-exponential diffusion coefficient, D$_{0}$ was also determined from the dynamic swelling behavior of polyimide in NMP solution. The experimental swelling behavior of polyimide films in NMP was well described by the theoretical one using the proposed diffusion coefficient.t.

Absorption of Water by Husked and Naked Barley (겉보리 및 쌀보리의 수화속도)

  • The hydration of water, at $20^{\circ}\;30^{\circ}$ and $40^{\circ}C$ for 10-360 minutes, by the two varieties of husked barley and of naked barley which were polished to 40 and 30%, respectively, was investigated. The absorption was directly proportional to the square root of the hydration time and accounted for by the diffusion equation: 1-M = $(2/{\sqrt\pi})\;(S/V){\sqrt{Dt}}$, where 1-M is the relative moisture gain and S/V is the surface-to-volume ratio. The average diffusion coefficient (D) was given by the Arrhenius relation: D = $D_{0}\;exp\;(-Ea/RT)$, where the activation energy for both husked and naked barley was about 7.2 Kcal/mole. The average value of D for naked barley was slightly higher than that for husked barley.

Molecular Dynamics Study on Oxygen Ions Diffusion of Gd-doped Ceria (Gd-doped Ceria의 산소이온 확산에 대한 분자동력학법 연구)

  • Doped ceria의 전기전도도는 도핑 원소의 종류와 양에 큰 의존성을 가지고 특정 조성에서 최대 전도도 값을 가지며 높은 dopant 농도에서는 전기전도도는 감소한다. 이런 현상은 dopant와 산소 빈자리 사이의 회합 형성과 관련이 있다고 알려져 있다. 그러나 Gd 이온이 도핑된 ceria의 경우 주된 회합종이 (2G $d_{Ce}$ $V_{o}$ )인지 (G $e_{Ce}$ $V_{o}$ ) 인지는 명확하게 알려져 있지 않다. 본 연구에서는 회합분포가 전기전도도에 미치는 영향을 연구하기 위해 결함의 회합종과 분포가 다른 3가지 경우에 대해서 시뮬레이션을 행하였다. 분자동력학법을 이용하여 다양한 온도와 다른 회합분포의 경우에 대해 산소 확산계수가 계산되어졌으며, 계산된 산소 확산계수는 실험적으로 결정된 bulk 전도도로부터 얻어진 산소 확산계수와 비교되어졌다. 그 결과 (2G $d_{Ce}$ $V_{o}$ )와 (G $e_{Ce}$ $V_{o}$ ) 회합이 공존하며 이들이 통계학적으로 이항 분포를 가지는 경우가 실험적으로 보고된 값과 가장 일치하는 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.
