  • The purpose of this study was to determine if a geriatric injury would have a statistically significant relationship with the spatial safety within a specific region. To achieve the objectives of this study, an independent sample t-test and One-way ANOVA were performed to verify difference in mean value of regional safety grade, depending on the injury intentionality, injury location, activities at the time of injury, and injury mechanism, in 6,572 geriatric injury patients by combining the National Hospital Discharge Patients Injury Survey data and regional safety index data. The results of statistical validation suggested that there was no difference in the mean value of regional safety grade by sub-group with respect to the injury intentionality. However, a statistically significant difference was observed in terms of the mean value of regional safety grade in each sub-group with regard to the injury location, activities at the time of injury, and injury mechanism in connection with some areas of the regional safety index. Based on the results of such analysis, we derived and presented 3 implications related to policies and practice for the prevention of geriatric injury and a reduction of its occurrence rate in light of spatial safety after a discussion of the results through a comparison with previous studies that examined individual areas.

  • The paper relates to a study on the changes in performance of insulation sheath resulting from accelerated degradation of IV and HIV insulated wire. To assume insulation degradation of IV and HIV insulated wire, accelerated life tests using Arrhenius equation were conducted among accelerated life test models, and experimental samples of 0 year, 10 years, 20 years, 30 years, and 40 years in equivalent life were produced. Whereas the maximum tensile load were increased as accelerated degradation of IV and HIV insulated wire progressed, elongation percentage, rupture time, and flexibility of insulated wires were found to be gradually reduced. According to the additional surface analysis results for the insulated wires per equivalent life using a scanning electron microscope, mechanical properties of the insulator were observed to be reduced as insulation degradation resulting from aging progressed since phenomena such as formation of crystalline structures and perforation, etc. occurred on the sample surface with progression of accelerated degradation. Consequently, institutional replacement of insulated wires and preparation of repair times considering performance degradation of the insulator installed inside buildings are considered necessary in order to prevent in advance the risks of electrical fire resulting from degradation in insulation performance.

  • In this paper, we propose IoT based smart CCTV security service to prevent crime in blind spot and prevent unexpected fire or danger. In the proposed method, a RC (Radio Control) car is made using Raspberry pie, and a camera and various modules are installed in an RC car. It was then implemented using Raspbian O / S, Apache Web Server, Shell script, Python, PHP, HTML, CSS, Javascript. The RC car provides a security service that informs the manager of the situation by judging the risk of the scene with modules such as video, voice and temperature. Experimental results show that the transmission time of video and audio information is less than 0.1 second. In addition, real-time status transmission was possible in AVG, emergency, and manual mode. It is expected that the proposed method will be applied to the development of smart city by applying it to unmanned vehicles, drones and the like.

  • The BEF on the radial distribution line refers to a class of ground faults in which the load-side power line only is grounded, with the distribution line broken into two parts, the source-side and the load-side. Because its mechanism is remarkably different from that of other earth faults, the fault current is very low, and then difficult to detect the BEF. Thus, it is necessary to analyze its properties and to find an appropriate method that can economically protect the BEF of nonautomation area in the substation. As a result of analyzing the BEF data obtained by the RTDS, EMTP simulation, and the field test data of ETSA, we believe that it is the dominant factor in distinguishing the BEF from normal conditions by a criterion value that is appropriately handled from the zero-sequence current. Thus, with this criterion value, a BEF detecting algorithm is constructed which measures the variations of the zero-sequence current and processes then properly so as to make the fault decision. To prove the accuracy of this algorithm, it is compared with the field test data of ETSA under various conditions. The results show that the proposed algorithm is accurate.

  • The minimum ignition temperature at which the dust cloud can spontaneously ignite is considered to be very important in industries to prevent explosion occurring in hot surfaces. This paper has dealt with the experimental study of the determination of minimum ignition temperature of Hydroxy Propyl Methyl Cellulose (HPMC) dust cloud. We have used the Godbert-Greenwald Furnace Apparatus to determine the ignition temperature and limiting oxyten concentration for dust could. The experimental determinations on the minimum ignition temperature were carried out with various particle size with nominal diameters 45, 75 and 106${\mu}m$. The limiting oxygen concentration of dust cloud was determinated for the smaller size(45${\mu}m$) HPMC. Minimum ignition temperature of dust cloud was at 364$^{\circ}C$ for the concentration of 2.5g/L in the air and became higher with the increasing of nitrogen concentration. It was also found that the ignition didn't occur when the oxygen concentration was below 10%, and limiting oxygen concentration is at 11%.

  • The purpose of this study is to prevent cyber crime in private company systems by applying secure coding and identify its problems. Three experiments were conducted. In Experiment 1, a security manager was participated and gave advise to the developer to follow secure coding guidelines. In Experiment 2, a security manager did not participate, but let the developer himself committed on secure coding. In Experiment 3, a security manager provided reports on weaknesses of each package source to the developer and the developer was only focused on source development. The research results showed that the participation of a security manager on development raised secure coding compliance rate and finished the project within a given periods. Furthermore, it was better to entrust a security manager with the task of following the secure coding guide than the developer, which raised secure coding compliance rate and achieved project objectives faster. Further implications were discussed.
