Effect of Supporters of Cosmetics Company's Beauty Product Evaluation Contents on Purchase Intentions (화장품회사 서포터즈의 뷰티제품평가 콘텐츠가 구매의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study studied the influence of beauty influencers, who act as supporters of cosmetics companies, on the purchase intention of cosmetics by consumers using Instagram content. To this end, we focused on the influence of demographic characteristics of consumers exposed to product evaluation contents of beauty influencers acting as cosmetics company supporters on purchase intention. The research data questionnaire surveyed a total of 15 items in 237 parts. Frequency analysis, factor analysis, independent t test, ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis were used for data analysis, and SPSS 23.0 was used for analysis. As a result of researching purchase intention according to product introduction through Instagram contents of a specific account HAJIN_21 Beauty Influencer, gender did not have a statistically significant positive effect, and final education was statistically influenced on purchase intention. It was found to have a significant positive (+) effect. As a result, it was found that final education was an important factor in purchase intention. Furthermore, it is expected that this study can be used as a basic data in the direction of promotion using cosmetics companies supporters.

  • When Perfluorinated Compounds (PFCs) are applied in cosmetic products, they have many merits because of unique feeling and characters. However, it is very difficult to use them as cosmetic ingredients because they are insoluble material in oil and water and have high specific gravity. To develop a special system to stabilize PFCs in cosmetic products, we compared three systems, of gel network system, spherulite lamellar system, and nanostructure system. We found that nanostructure system was the optical system for stabilizing PFCs.

  • Sample cosmetics used in cosmetics department in a situation where an infectious disease problem arises due to the emergence of COVID-19 can be a cause of infection. To prevent this, each cosmetic store can use a Beauty Mirror. The Beauty Mirror is composed of an operation device and a mirror device. In order to recognize the user's face in the mirror device, the feature points of the face are searched and the feature points are divided and used for each part. For communication between the operation device and the mirror device, data is transmitted and received through Serial communication using the FTDI232 chip. Beauty Mirror is not limited to cosmetics department, but can be applied to online shopping malls to enable testing in an online environment.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of product selection of hospital workers cosmeceutical cosmetics on marketing communication among hospital workers who use cosmeceutical cosmetics that have emerged in line with the recent growing medical skin care field.Coping with complaints from consumers who buy cosmeceutical cosmetics in hospitals where cosmeceutical cosmetics are mainly used and sold, and minimizing the influence of negative issues will potentially strengthen consumer relationships. The study was conducted on 520 hospital workers who use cosmeceutical cosmetics in hospitals (dermatology, plastic surgery, women's clinic, and other hospitals) in Seoul, Gyeonggi and Incheon. A total of 502 questionnaires were used for the final analysis. The data analysis consisted of Cronbach's alpha, one-way ANOVA, exploratory factor analysis and Duncan test. Correlation analysis was performed to investigate the correlation between variables, and regression analysis was conducted to test hypotheses. The study results revealed that when choosing cosmetic cosmetics, marketing communication is influential. Especially, product value, quality, and price factors strongly affect marketing communication. This shows that we value the product and quality the most and we want a reasonable price. Considering this, we will pursue differentiated products only from cosmeceutical cosmetics and provide them as basic data necessary for securing potential customers and increasing the sales of cosmeceutical cosmetics in accordance with the changing trends.

  • Vietnam has a population of about 1% of the current annual growth rate of young population is more than half of the total population has the potential to be a total purchase. Vietnam as consumers to choose Korea cosmetics, attach importance to quality, reliability, origin and prefer excellent to high quality, functional and be relieved as the brand of the developed countries. Korean cosmetics are getting very popular and it is among the five largest exporter of cosmetics to Vietnam and raising the name proudly in current. In this study, the north of Vietnam (Ha noi, Bac Ninh, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Phu Tho), a resident of 20-60 as consumers. Survey research method has adopted the Internet and Survey period was from September 2013 to May 2014 was performed. As a result, the total 163 respondents was obtained. The study provides useful information for people hopes to advance through the Vietnam or companies, entered the cosmetics.

Studies on the evaluation of efficacy of functional cosmetics(I) -Studies on the in vitro SPF test method of sunscreen products (기능성화장품의 기능성평가에 관한 연구(I) -자위선차단화장품의 in vitro 시험법 연구)

  • The present study was undertaken to develop the in vitro sunprotection factor(SPF) measurement method having good correlation with in vivo method. As in vitro method, 8% homomentyl salicylate, P3 reference standard and sunscreens on market were measured using SPF 290 analyzer and were compared the SPF with labed value. In vitro SPF of 8% HMS and P3 reference standard were 4.59 $\pm$ 0.12 and 14.94 $\pm$ 0.83. There are good correlation, correlation factor were 0.9506 and 0.9769 respectively, between the in vitro and in vivo SPF for the sunscreen creams and lotions examined. Correlation factors of makeup base & liquid goundation, lotion labled with “shake before use”, compact powder were 0.8812, 0.8632 and 0.5984. The best sample applied method of compact powder was 1:0.8 mixture with cream base. These results suggest that the in vitro test method could be used as an alternative method for SPF.

The Anti-melanogenic Effect of Whitening Agent Containing Arbutin and ${\beta}-Glucosidase$ (알부틴과 베타-글루코시다제를 함유하는 미백 화장품의 항멜라닌 효과)

  • Arbutin is a glycosylated hydroquinone found at high concentration in certain plants capable of surviving extreme and sustained dehydration. It has been reported to have an inhibitory effect of melanogenesis and to be hydrolyzed easily to yield glucose and hydroquinone by ${\beta}-glucosidase.$ While hydroquinone also has an anti-melanogenic effect, however, is carefully used as a topical whitening agent because of side effects. The present study was undertaken to examine the inhibitory effect of an whitening agent containing arbutin and ${\beta}-glucosidase$ on UV radiation induced pigmentation in human skin. Experimental subjects were UVB-irradiated on the back. UVB-irradiated areas were assigned to three groups: arbutin and ${\beta}-glucosidase$ treated group, vehicle control, and no-application control. Arbutin and ${\beta}-glucosidase$ treatment inhibited pigmentation by 50.17 percent, compared with the controls (N : 10: P<0.05). These results suggest that the whitening agent containing arbutin and ${\beta}-glucosidase$may be used as an agent to inhibit melanin formation induced by UV radiation.

Development and Characterization of O/W Cosmetic Formulations Containing Nipa palm (Nypa fruticans Wurmb) and Finger root (Boesenbergia pandurate) Extracts (니파팜, 핑거루트 추출물을 함유한 O/W 화장품 제형 개발 및 분석)

  • This study was attempted to investigate the availability of nipa palm (Nypa fruticans Wurmb.) and finger root (Boesenbergia pandurata) extracts as natural cosmetic ingredients. For this, O/W cosmetic formulations with different compositions were prepared. The appearance of the cosmetic formulations was compared, and brightness and color values were measured using a colorimeter. Also, the pH, viscosity, and texture of the cosmetic formulations with different compositions were measured, and the effects of the extracts on the properties of the cosmetic formulations were examined. Finally, the UV transmittance and sun protection factor (SPF) index were observed, and the results confirmed the availability of finger root extract as a natural ingredient for UV protection.

Monitoring of Formaldehyde in Cosmetic Products (화장품 중 포름알데히드 함유량 조사)

  • Formaldehyde is commonly present in cosmetic products as an ingredient intended to preserve cosmetic raw materials or as a liberated product from other formaldehyde-releasing preservatives. Since even low level of formaldehyde can elicit a dermatological reactions in sensitized individuals, there has been a tendency to restrict and regulate the use of formaldehyde in cosmetic products. In this study, we determined formaldehyde content in 114 commercial cosmetic products such as packs and masks. Formaldehyde was detected at the level ranging from 0.3 to $9.7{\mu}g/mL$ (ppm) in 36 % of the tested cosmetic products. We investigated formaldehyde content of twelve products specifying to contain formaldehyde-releasing preservatives on their labels. In eleven of ten imidazolidinyl urea-containing and two 1,3-Dimethylol-5,5-dimethylhydantoin (DMDM hyantoin)-containing products, average of $1.7{\mu}g/mL$ (ppm) formaldehyde level was detected. The formaldehyde levels detected in our tested products are low when compared with the maximum authorised concentration 0.2 % (2000 ppm) of formaldehyde in cosmetics according to the Korean Food and Drug Administration notice.

Simultaneous Analysis of Antimicrobial Three Straight Chain 1,2-alkanediols in Cosmetics by Gas Chromatography (가스크로마토그래피를 이용한 화장품 중 항균작용의 3종의 직쇄상 1,2-알칸디올류의 동시분석)

  • Preservatives such as paraben, phenoxyethanol, and chlorphene are commonly used in cosmetics thanks to cheap price and good antiseptic effect. Recently, consumers' concerns about their possible toxicity and skin irritation forced them to be replaced with straight 1,2-alkanediols. However, as the alkanediols may also irritate skin, limited amount of them should be used in cosmetics. Three 1,2-alkanediols including 1,2-pentanediol, 1,2-hexanediol, and 1,2-octanediol in cosmetics were analyzed simultaneously by gas chromatogrphy with flame ionization detector. As a result of method validation, the specificity was confirmed by the calibration curves of 1,2-pentanediol, 1,2-hexanediol, and 1,2-octanediol showing good linearity correlation coefficient of above 0.999 over the concentration range of $100{\sim}1,200{\mu}g/g$. The limit of detection (LOD) and quantification (LOQ) of 1,2-pentanediol, 1,2-hexanediol, and 1,2-octanediol were 31, 40, and $19{\mu}g/g$ and 98, 108, and $57{\mu}g/g$, respectively. The precision (Repeatability) of the amount in cosmetics showed less than 2.0%. Relative Standard Deviation (% RSD) and the Accuracy (% recovery) of the amount in cosmetics showed 99.3 ~ 103.3, 99.4 ~ 106.7, 97.5 ~ 107.3% respectively. As a result, simultaneous analysis of antimicrobial three 1,2-alkanediols in cosmetics were possible. This method can be utilized in accurate quantitative analysis of 1,2-alkanediols in cosmetics.
