Scanning Electron Microscopic Study on the Microplastics in Rinse Off Cosmetics (피부 청결 화장품에 첨가된 미세플라스틱의 주사전자현미경적 연구)

  • We investigated the microstructure and morphological characteristics of microplastics added to rinse off cosmetics by scanning electron microscope. The size of the microplastic was in a wide range of sizes, from $250{\mu}m$ to 1.5mm in diameter. The small microplastics were in the shape of elongated particles and the large microplastics were cuboidal. Most cubic microplastics were observed in the form of squares or rectangles. The surface of the cubic microplastic was smoothly observed without protruding portions, but irregularly many gaps were formed. The gap between openings was measured from about $5{\mu}m$ to $20{\mu}m$. It has not been confirmed that these gaps are formed from the surface of the microplastic to the inside there of.

Comparison of Biological Activities on Extracts and Fractions in Compositae Plants (국화류 추출물 및 분획물의 생리활성 비교연구)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the anti-oxidative, anti-oxidative and tyrosinase inhibitory effects of MeOH 80% extract and hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, butanol and aqueous fraction on three kinds of compositae plants in Korea. In the antimicrobial effect, the extract and chloroform fraction of Eclipta prostrata and hexane fraction of Carpesium abrotanoides L. and chloroform fraction of Siegesbeckia glabrescens exhibited significant inhibition. The antioxidant activity of ethyl acetate and butanol fractions was more than 90% in all three plants. In case of tyrosinase activity, showed a potent inhibition ethlyacetate fraction of Siegesbeckia glabrescens and Carpesium abrotanoides L, which were higher than control group. In MeOH 80% extracts, there was not found to have antimicrobial, anti-oxidant and tyrosinase inhibitory activity, however there was ethylacetate fraction of Siegesbeckia glabrescens to show effectss commonly in the three assay system.

  • Cosmetic functional ingredients are products of emotional convergence technology. Unlike pharmaceuticals, it is very important that cosmetics ingredients contain emotional attractiveness because they are household products that have limitations in their effectiveness. Ginseng has long been used as a major prescription of oriental medicine for human health. Detailed records such as the origin and propagation of ginseng can lead to various cosmetical application of ginseng as an emotional convergence ingredients that utilizes the authenticity and excellence of ginseng as an asset of K-beauty. In the unfortunate reality that the first records of ginseng use depend on ancient Chinese literature, it is very meaningful to describe and leave the records of ginseng used in the field of beauty. This study examined the general historical records needed for the study of the cosmetics application of ginseng and the recent findings of ginsenoside in the area of skin function, and provided basic data that can be applied to new cosmetics development research.

A Study on functional cosmetic ingredients of the invasive plant Spartina anglica (생태교란종 영국갯끈풀의 기능성화장품 원료로서 효능 연구)

  • The Spartina anglica is recognized as a highly invasive plant and active eradication methods are required. In this study, we aimed to determine the physiologic activities of Spartina anglica extracts as a cosmetic ingredient. Antioxidant properties were investigated by different chemical methods including radical quenching (DPPH and ABTS), reducing power(FRAP) assay and aerial part of S. anglica(SAA) extract presented the strongest antioxidant activities. The significant cytotoxicity was not observed up to a concentration of 0.5 mg/mL in RAW264.7 cells and NHDF cells. The anti-inflammatory activity of S. anglica belowground(SAB) extract had strong effects on cell-based systems, including LPS-induced NO and cytokines(TNF-a and IL-6) production in RAW264.7 cells. Collagen synthesis and skin hydration gene expression of S. anglica extract showed the highest anti-wrinkle and moisturizing effect in NHDF cells. Results presented in this study tend to show that the ethanol extracts of S. anglica could be exploited as useful-bio-resource for bioactive substances in functional cosmetics.

The Effect of Social Media Marketing Activities on Purchase Intention with Brand Equity and Social Brand Engagement: Empirical Evidence from Korean Cosmetic Firms (소셜 미디어 마케팅 활동이 브랜드 자산과 소셜 브랜드 개입을 통해 구매 의도에 미치는 영향: 한국 화장품 회사를 중심으로)

  • This study provides a new perspective on the effect of social media marketing activities (SMMA) on purchase intention in Korean cosmetic firms. The increasing use of social media has changed how firms engage their brand with consumers. This phenomenon triggered a need for this research to examine further the influence of SMMA on social brand engagement (SBE), brand equity (BE), and purchase intention (PI). The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effect of SMMA on purchase intention in Korean cosmetic firms with brand equity and social brand engagement. The factors of SMMA were identified based on previous literature reviews that have an impact on social media marketing activity. To empirically test the effects of SMMA, this study conducted a questionnaire survey on 219 social media users for data analysis out of the initial 332 survey data. The results reveal that all five SMMA elements are positively related to BE, SBE, and PI. The study enables cosmetic brands to forecast the future purchasing behavior of their customers more accurately and brings clarity to manage their assets and marketing activities as well.

  • 산업통상자원부가 주최하고 한국생산기술연구원 패키징기술센터가 주관하는 '제11회 미래패키징 신기술 정부포상' 시상식이 4월1 8일 경기도 일산 KINTEX 그랜드볼룸에서 열렸다. 국내 최고 권위의 패키징 종합 행사인 '미래패키징 신기술 정부포상'은 관련 산업 종사자의 긍지를 높이고 기술혁신 분위기를 확산하기 위해 2007년부터 한국생산기술연구원(원장 이성일, 이하 생기원)이 매년 개최해온 행사다. 11회를 맞이한 올해에는 (주)휴비스의 'PET 발포 패키징'이 대상인 국무총리상을 수상했다. 산업부장관상은 메디클란트의 '일회용 콘텍트렌즈 패키지', 신우코스텍의 '인몰드 3D 라벨 PET패키징 블로우 성형기', (주)한국콜마의 '힌지 회동에 의한 자동 기립형 팔레트 화장품', 엘지전자(주)의 'LG코드제로 청소기 패키징 디자인' 등이 수상했다. 이밖에 CJ제일제당을 비롯한 9개 기업이 한국생산기술연구원장상을, 2개 기업이 부천시장상, 3개 기업이 한국패키징단체총연합회 회장상, 10개 기업이 한국포장기술사회장상을 수상하는 등 총 43개의 기술 및 제품이 수상작으로 선정됐다. 또한 장형순 삼영잉크페인트제조(주) 고문과 박현진 고려대학교 교수가 국내 포장산업 발전에 기여한 공적을 인정받아 공로 부문에서 산업통상자원부 장관표창을 수여받았다. 올해 수상작들은 안전한 식품 포장소재 개발과 대량생산 상용화, 명확한 라벨링, 경량포장 확대, 재활용재료의 사용증가 등 기본에 충실하면서도 기술융합을 통해 패키징의 가치를 높였다는 평가를 받았다. 다음에 제11회 미래패키징 신기술 정부포상 수상작을 살펴보고 최신 국내 패키징 경향에 대해 알아보도록 한다.

(사)한국상품문화디자인학회(회장 김윤배)와 한국경제신문사의 공동주최로 진행된 이날 시상식에서는 (사)한국백합생산자중앙연합회의 '백합화장품'이 베스트패키지 종합대상을 수상했다. 베스트브랜드&패키지디자인어워즈는 브랜드와 패키지 디자인에 관한 연구와 학술활동을 지속해온 한국상품문화디자인학회에서 기업들의 상품개발 의욕과 디자인 역량 강화를 위해 1995년부터 수행해온 행사이다. 다음에 '제23회 베스트브랜드&패키지디자인어워즈' 수상작을 살펴보도록 한다.

  • 1992년 진흥화학으로 시작한 (주)진우아이앤피는 2000년 지금의 자리인 경기도 광주에 둥지를 틀면서 식품, 제약, 화장품 산업용 연포장재를 본격적으로 생산하기 시작했다. 진우아이에스를 거쳐 지난해 진우아이앤피 음성공장을 준공하면서 기존 연포장 소재는 물론 가전강판용, 가구목재용, 기타 산업용에 사용되는 고기능 첨단소재까지 생산하는 제조사로 그 영역을 확대하고 있다. 김영선 진우아이앤피 대표이사를 만나 진우아이앤피의 현황과 함께 30여 년간 포장기업을 이끌어온 포장인으로서 국내 포장산업의 문제점은 무엇이고, 그 해결책은 무엇인지 고견을 들어보았다.

The Effect of the Entrepreneurial Motivation in Women Entrepreneurs on Entrepreneurial Satisfaction Mediated by Entrepreneurial Orientation and Commitment to Start-up (여성창업자의 창업동기가 기업가지향성과 창업의지를 매개로 창업만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study aims to examine their influential relations between the start-up motivation and entrepreneurial satisfaction of women entrepreneurs mediated by entrepreneurial orientation and commitment to start-up. An empirical analysis of the 386 questionnaires collected by the cosmetics store entrepreneurs located in Seoul and Gyeonggi provinces were conducted in this study. Mediator effect use the comparison by correspondence with total effect, direct effect, indirect effect inclusive of characteristic indirect effect. To achieve the research goal, this study were analyzed on the cornerstone of combination of parallel serial mediation models with entrepreneurial orientation and commitment to start-up as mediator variable. The following is the results verified through this study. First, Rewards motivation had the significant positive effects on the entrepreneurial satisfaction in total effects of X on Y and direct effects of X on Y. Second, Achievement motivation had the positive effects on entrepreneurial satisfaction in characteristic indirect effects of X on Y. Third, Environment motivation had the significant positive effects on the entrepreneurial satisfaction in total effects of X on Y and direct effects of X on Y. Fourth, The entrepreneurial orientation and the commitment to start-up between the start-up motivation and entrepreneurial satisfaction in women entrepreneurs had the serial mediation effects. I discussed theoretical and empirical implications with these findings and described the future research.
