An Iris Diagnosis System using Color Iris Images (칼라 홍채영상을 이용한 홍채진단시스템)

  • Iris diagnosis is an alternative medicine technique whose proponents believe that patterns, colors, and other characteristics of the iris can be examined to determine information about a patient's systemic health. However, because most of previous studies only find a sign pattern in a gray iris image, they are not enough to be used for a iris diagnosis system. In this paper, we developed an iris diagnosis system based on a color image processing and iris medical information stored in database. The system includes four modules : input module with an iris camera, iris signs extraction module, medical database, output module with printing. Based on a color image processing approach, this paper presents the extraction algorithms of 7 major iris signs and correction manually for improving the accuracy of analysis. We can use the iridology and patient's health DB in the stage of signs analysis. Compared with the existing system, the developed system can be applied to an iris diagnosis system since it provides various additional functions.

  • Iris diagnosis is an alternative medicine to diagnose the disease of the patient by using different of the iris pattern, color and other characteristics. This paper proposed a disease prediction algorithm that using the iris regions that analyze iris change to using differential image of iris image. this method utilize as patient's health examination according to iris change. Because most of previous studies only find a sign pattern in a iris image, it's not enough to be used for a iris diagnosis system. We're developed an iris diagnosis system based on a iris images processing approach, It's presents the extraction algorithms of 8 major iris signs and correction manually for improving the accuracy of analysis. As a result, PNSR of applied edge detection image is about 132, and pattern matching area recognition presented practical use possibility by automatic diagnostic that presume situation of human body by iris about 91%.

Design of an Optical System for Iris Photographing (홍채 촬영용 광학계 설계)

  • Purpose: To design a mini optical system photographing the iris, which is used in the iridology. Methods: We designed a mini optical system photographing the iris by using the Sigma 2000 design program. Results: We designed a mini optical system photographing the iris, which is suitable in the CCD using a micro actuator for auto-focusing, of which characteristics have the TCL of 30 mm, a magnification of -0.65, about 8.0 mm distance from the 1st lens to the last lens, the max barrel diameter of 11 mm, and about 1 mm of the effective stop diameter. Also the resolution line width of this system is characterised by 92 lps/mm at the 30% MTF value criterion. Conclusions: By designing an optical system of which characteristics have the TCL of 30 mm, about 8.0 mm distance from the 1st lens to the last lens, the max barrel diameter of 11 mm, and the resolution line width of $5.4{\mu}m$ at the 30% MTF value criterion, we could miniaturize the iris photographing optical system.

  • In iris diagnostics, iris changes in its area on the iris map when abnormal changes in human tissues and organs occur in response to changes in color and iris structure. This makes it possible to determine the long-term condition in which an abnormal change has occurred, and to determine the presence or absence of a congenital illness. In this paper, we design a neural network algorithm that is displayed on the iris and classifies lesions by using a convolution neural network that has the advantage of advancing learning using images of various dip-running neural networks.

  • Currently used iris cameras are expensive and have many limitations in their use. Existing iris cameras are inconvenient in interworking with newly developed software, and light reflections generated during iris photography are inadequate for medical use. Therefore, it is impossible to utilize the existing camera to take an image by yourself. In this paper, the iris camera is newly constructed so that the iris can be photographed by ourselves and the area of interest can be seen well. Anyone can easily wear glasses-type iris cameras to acquire images using IoT devices, and the acquired images are linked to the iris analysis program and used to read genetic weak parts. The proposed iris camera module automatically provides light reflection, shake, and accurate focus when capturing images, increasing the accuracy of image analysis to 91.49%. In addition, we have proved through experiments that one image processing time is fast as 0.007ms due to accurate image input.

  • 본 논문은 생체측정학(Biometrics)중 홍채의 패턴을 이용하는 것으로, 사람의 홍채는 태어날 때 한번 정해지면 평생 변화하지 않으며, 개개인별로 모양이 모두 다른 것으로 알려져 있다. 이에, 본 논문에서는 홍채영상 취득시 조명에 의한 동공의 크기 변화에 민감하지 않은 2차원의 홍채패턴을 취득하고, 2D Gabor 필터와 48개의 분할된 섹터로부터 특징값을 추출한다. 또한, 인식과정에서는 correlation 계수를 이용하여 서로 다른 홍채의 특징값에 대해 유사도를 측정하고 가장 큰 값을 갖는 사람을 찾게 되는데, 이때, 3개의 필터를 거쳐 얻어진 영상에 대해 최고의 값을 인식 대상자로 인정하므로 오인식 될 확률을 최소화 할 수 있다. 제안한 알고리듬의 유용성을 확인하기 위해 남성과 여성 대상자 10명의 왼쪽 눈에 대해 5회 촬영하여 데이터베이스 구축 후, 실험한 결과 90%이상의 높은 인식률을 얻음으로 제안한 알고리듬의 유용성을 확인할 수 있다.

  • 홍채학은 대체의학의 한 분야로서 홍채 침착의 불규칙성을 주시함으로써 의학적 상태를 진단한다. 홍채학적 분류에 의한 체질은 가족력을 보이고 있으며 이는 홍채체질의 유전성을 의미한다. 강력한 면역조절자이며 전 염증성 사이토카인인 종양괴사인자(tumor necrosis factor-a, TNF-${\alpha}$)는 많은 병리적 과정에서 중요한 역할을 한다. 따라서 본 연구자는 고혈압환자에서 홍채체질과 TNF-${\alpha}$ 유전자 다형성과의 관련성을 조사하였다. 87명의 고혈압 환자와 79명의 정상인을 홍채체질에 따라 분류하였으며 이들의 TNF-${\alpha}$ 유전자형을 분석하였다. 결과적으로 정상인에 비하여 TNF-${\alpha}$ GA 이형접합체의 빈도가 고혈압 환자군에서 감소하였다. 이 같은 결과는 TNF-${\alpha}$ 다형성이 고혈압에 대한 저항성과 관련 있음을 의미한다. 또한 고혈압환자에서 콜레스테롤 침착체질과 심신 결합조직 허약 체질은 42.5%로서 정상인 16.5%에 비하여 현저하게 증가하였다 (P<0.001). GG TNF-${\alpha}$ 유전자형을 갖고 있는 군에서 심신 결합조직 허약체질과 콜레스테롤 침착체질의 빈도는 정상인보다 환자에서 유의하게 높았다(P<0.001). 본 연구에서 저자는 홍채체질과 고혈압사이의 관련성을 발견함과 동시에 TNF-${\alpha}$ 유전자 다형성과 고혈압, 그리고 홍채 체질과의 관련성을 최초로 입증하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 생체측정학(Biometrics)중 홍채 패턴을 이용하여 개인 인증과 확인을 할 수 있는 알고리듬을 개발하고 구현하였다. 사람의 홍채는 태어날 때 한번 정해지면 평생 변화하지 않으며, 개개인 별로 모양이 모두 다른 것으로 알려져 있다. 이런, 홍채 특징을 이용하여, 본 논문에서는 홍채영상 취득 시 조명에 의한 밝기 변화에 불변하고, 회전에 불변한 DFT 계수를 이용하였으며, correlation 계수를 이용하여 유사도를 측정하였다. 또한 개개인을 대표할 수 있는 기준데이터(code book)를 만들어 실험하였다.

  • In Oriental medicine, the shape of collarette that formed with position in iris of patients often used by health diagnotcian to grasp health condition. In this paper, we present method that effectively extract collarette that exist in Iris image. After proposed method detert iris area using circular edge detector, derides boundary candidate point through radial line search and threshold value establishment. And boundary candidate line is treated to use nearest neighbor calculation at each boundary candidate point, finally extracts collarette through linear interpolation. As a result of experimenting about iris images, We Confirmed that can be used as assistant tool of diagnostic system that can presume state of ventriculus of human body.

A Relationship Between Visible Iris Diameter and Palpebral Aperture Size : Considered to Solve Uncomfortable Feeling of Soft Contact Lens (소프트콘택트렌즈 피팅과 관련된 가시홍채직경 및 검열크기에 대한 상관관계)

  • Purpose: In order to find suitable size of soft contact lens for different ages group of elementary student to adults, visible iris diameter(horizontal, vertical) and palpebral aperture size were measured. Methods: Visible iris diameter (horizontal, vertical) and palpebral aperture size were measured in different age groups of total 514 subjects (1028 eyes) who have no eye disease and none history of surgery included cosmetic purpose. Results: No significant difference was found in iris diameter of both horizontal and vertical direction for different groups of age and sex but horizontal direction of palpebral aperture size in middle school students and university students groups and vertical direction of palpebral aperture size in high school student group shows significant difference (p<0.05) by sex. Horizontal visible iris diameter, vertical visible iris diameter, horizontal palpebral aperture size and vertical palpebral aperture size shows significant difference in difference age and sex. Conclusions: Visible iris diameter and palpebral aperture size are affective factor for soft contact lens diameter decision, especially it should considered more intensive for removing uncomfortable feeling of lens wearer.
