Use of Visible Storage for Display and Conservation Treatment of a Large-sized Jar Coffin (대형 옹관의 보존처리 과정과 이를 활용한 개방형 수장고의 운용)

  • This paper describes the restoration and display of a large jar coffin at the Naju National Museum. Excavated from Tomb No. 3 at Bokam-ri, Naju, the large jar is 194 cm in height and its rim diameter is 108 cm. The jar had been broken into approximately forty fragments prior to its restoration, and a supporting structure was installed to ensure the safety of the relic during the restoration process. The restoration was conducted inside a visible storage for large jar coffins for approximately three weeks from February 5 to February 27, 2018. Over two weeks during this period, the restoration efforts inside the storage were visible to the public in the permanent exhibition space so that visitors could observe the process in person. This was planned to help visitors understand and arouse their interest in large-sized relics such as jar coffins and the restoration process. This study also investigates the practices of overseas institutions in order to suggest plans for raising public awareness of conservation treatment at conservation science centers.

Market Segmentation and Characteristics by Fair Participants evaluation Quality - Based on Korean Medicine-Bio Fair 2014 Jecheon Korea - (박람회 품질평가에 따른 시장세분화 및 특성분석 - 2014 제천한방바이오 방문객 대상 -)

  • This study was to segment The 2014 Korean Medicine-Bio Fair visitors based on fair quality factors. From the on-site survey at the destination, a total of 308 useful sample were collected and analyzed in SPSS 21.0. From factor analysis, the result shows 5 quality types of 'fair product', 'convenient facilities', 'accessibility', 'promotional information' and 'contents.' Also Three different segmented groups were derived form clusters analysis, which are 'accessibility preference group', 'promotion preference group', and 'high quality preference group.' The result of this study indicated that there were significant differences in demographic, satisfaction and behavioral variables between these three segments. More theoretical and practical implication were discussed in the conclusion section.

An Analysis of Operating Characteristics and Management Satisfaction of Forest Museums in Korea (우리나라 산림박물관의 운영특성 및 관리 만족도 분석)

  • The present study grasped the operation characteristics and operation management of forest museums in Korea and analyzed satisfaction with the foregoing. In the results of a survey of forest museums' operation characteristics, with regard to groups to which exhibits were helpful, over half of respondents answered that the exhibits were helpful to students and many respondents had an opinion that all age groups should be equally considered as targets of exhibition. Among matters that were considered with regards to forest museums, accessibility showed the highest rate of answers followed by museum programs. The curator was needed for the majority of respondents were exhibits prior to the survey had the highest expectations for the medium. With regard to the operation management of forest museums, the expected value of periodic and extraordinary exhibitions was shown to be high and high and satisfaction was shown by the professionalism of staff. As for matters of forest museums that must be improved, attention should be paid to the development of programs in which users can participate, diverse exhibition media should be developed, and exhibition should be planned to fit the composition of exhibits. As for operation management, since exhibits were repeated every year, environments should be changed by exhibiting new exhibits or otherwise and active methods of improvement should be devised such as the utilization of broadcasting media for public relations.

A Study on Determinants of Trade Show's Participation Fees (무역전시회 참가비용의 결정요인에 관한 연구)

  • This research analyzed determining factors of expenditure for processing fee by targeting trade show participants under a microeconomic approach in order to analyze determining factors of the participations of trade shows. As a result, with regard to the participation fees, income and the level of education seemed to be the socioeconomic factors that positively affected visitors in paying admission fees: and age and gender were negative elements. With regard to the participating businesses, the sales and the corporate history of the businesses were the positive elements to their willingness to pay the participation fees: however, the ratio of male and female personnel turned out to be a negative element in incurring the participation fees. The purchase of ticket was a positive mode-of participation factor to the visitors: however, distance tended to be a negative element for the visitors. For the participating businesses, the number of participation tended to be a positive element: however, distance was a negative one. The positive satisfaction factors that affected visitors' willingness to pay the participation fees included exhibited items, location, and schedules for events of the convention: for the participating businesses, the actual sales at the convention, the effects of advertisement and the level of satisfaction for location tended to play positive parts.

A Study on the Promoting Utilizing by Evaluation of the Visitor Center Functions in the National Parks, Korea -Based on McManus's Communication Theory- (국립공원 탐방안내소 기능평가를 통한 이용활성화 방안 연구 -McManus의 커뮤니케이션 이론을 중심으로-)

  • This study was conducted to suggest alternatives for the effective use of national park visitor centers, by evaluating their functionality. Visitor centers in Naejangsan National Park and Pukhansan National Park, which are deliberately composed and managed, were investigated for this purpose. First, I clarified the concept, function and type of a visitor center through literature review, and then, analyzed visitors' post-visiting evaluation based on McManus's Communication Theory. The results of the analysis shows that visitors have not enough time to understand the contents of visitor centers, and facilities and guide sign system to support visitors are insufficient, which seem to disturb the proper communication between visitors and exhibits. Visitors' short visiting time caused by their little interest in exhibits and their low degree of understanding show the difficulties in the communication between visitors and exhibits. The following alternatives are suggested to improve these problems: first, the improvement of the guide sign system; second, the provision of exhibition rooms specialized for different visitor groups; third, the display of exhibits connected with visitors' experiences; Forth, the utilization of various media proper for each subject.

Development of u-Pamphlet based on PDA and Two Dimensional Barcode for Festival Marketing (축제 홍보를 위한 PDA와 2차원 바코드 기반의 u-팜플렛 개발)

  • With the advance of ubiquitous environment, a lot of changes occur in various kinds of applications. The marketing for festivals is not an exception. Due to the needs for changes in the festival marketing, researches about active marketing suitable for ubiquitous environment are increasing. The purpose of this paper is to develop a u-pamphlet based on PDA and QR code. In this paper, we focus on Jeju Jeongweol Daeboreum Fire Festival, shortly Jeju Fire Festival, as a pamphlet content, which is one of the best domestic festivals. When tourists attend Jeju Fire Festival, the proposed u-pamphlet provides various forms of Jeju Fire Festival information either by accessing digital content stored in PDA directly or by interpreting QR code in the Festival area and connecting remote digital content indirectly. In addition, in order to analyze the necessity, the usefulness, the functionality, and the technical barriers of the u-pamphlet, we make a questionnaire after we exhibit our u-pamphlet.

Overseas exhibition and organization of Korean exhibition room in foreign museum. (해외 전시와 외국 박물관의 한국실 설치-그리스 특별 전시 사례를 중심으로)

  • Among many functions of the museum, the educational function is being emphasized. Museums should actively expand their scope of action through special exhibits or various educational activities. It is through exhibits that museums prove their reason for existence and raise calls for support. Through such activities, university museums should demonstrate the role and reason of existence of a museum inside a university to the members of the university. They should carry out various activities to raise the presence of the museum in the university. That may be the way for university museums, which face many difficulties in reality, to find their breakthrough. Especially in a situation of a low-budget, holding overseas exhibition may be a good opportunity to display the excellence of the Korean culture and, at the same time, publicize the school and the museum. Also, through such overseas exhibition, benchmarking of facilities and activities of advanced museums can be made and networks can be set up with museums around the world. This paper introduces the planning and progressing procedures of exhibitions abroad through the experiences of the Korea University Museum. I sincerely hope that it will contribute to the hereafter development of university museums. Aside from such overseas exhibition, the Korea Foundation has been supporting prestigious foreign museums to establish a Korean exhibition room in order to form a perpetual space to systematically introduce Korean culture and art to foreign audience. Thus far, the National Museum of Korea has stood in the forefront in lending relics to Korean exhibition rooms abroad. I believe it would be a worthwhile activity for the Korea Association of University Museums, which has approximately 100 institutions as its members, to actively participate in the establishment of Korean exhibitions rooms of foreign museums for the development of university museums. Participating in the establishment of Korean exhibition rooms is attractive as it will lead to a constant exchange with foreign museums instead of a one-time exchange. Localization and globalization, which became a big issue about ten years ago, is reality from which university museums cannot be free. In such reality, it is time for university museums to look back on whether they are ready to make their way forward in this era called the century of culture.

  • 제1회 대한민국 지역혁신박람회가 11월 11일부터 14일까지 부산 벡스코(BEXCO)에서 열렸다. 개막식에는 노무현 대통령과 시도지사, 시도의회 의장, 기초자치단체장, 지역혁신위원 등 1500여 명이 참석했으며, 4일간의 박람회 기간 동안 지역혁신 전문가 4000여 명과 10만여 명의 관람객이 행사장 을 찾았다. 국가균형발전위원회와 산업자원부, 행정자치부, 부산시가 공동주최한 이번 박람회에서는 대규모 전시행사 뿐 아니라 159개의 성공사례 발표, 국내외 컨퍼런스, 52개 기초지자체가 참여하는 특산물 한마당, 전국 각지의 25개 문화행사 등 다채로운 행사가 열렸다. 개막식에 참석한 노무현 대통령은 축사를 통해“지난 8월 확정한 국가균형발전 5개년계획에 따라 혁신기반 구축사업 등에 앞으로 5년간 총 45조원의 예산을 투입하게 될 것”이라고 밝혔다. 노대통령은 개막식 행사 뒤 허남식 부산시장, 협회 김태희 부회장 등 행사관계자와 함께 전시장 개막 터치버튼을 누르고 부산시 홍보관을 시작으로 전시장을 둘러보았다.

  • 스마트 단말에 장착된 센서들로부터 단말의 상황 정보를 수집하고 분석하여, 상황에 적절한 동영상을 단말에게 스트리밍해 주는 서비스 구조를 제안한다. 스마트 단말은 NFC 또는 QR 코드 기반으로 전시물이나 특정 사물에 기등록된 동영상 정보를 획득하고, 저밀도 기반 WiFi 무선 실내 측위 기술을 사용하여 단말이 위치한 실내 공간 정보를 서버에 제공한다. 상황인지형 스트리밍 서버는 단말이 요청한 정보를 토대로 단말의 해상도에 적절한 동영상을 스트리밍 한다. 설계된 상황인지형 비디오 스트리밍 서비스 구조는 전시와 컨벤션, 대형 기관 및 테마파크의 안내 및 홍보 등의 용도로 활용될 수 있다.

동행취재 - 2011한국국제축산박람회(KISTOCK 2011)저널리스트 프로그램 - 한국국제축산박람회를 앞두고 국내.외 홍보에 박차

  • 1980년 이후 국내 축산업이 전문화, 대형화되면서 정보의 다양화가 이루어졌다. 1991년 개최된 한국양계박람회(KOPOXE)가 그 대표적인 것으로 국내외의 모든 시설과 새로운 정보의 장이 마련되면서 국내 양계산업 발전에 지대한 영향을 가져왔다. 격년으로 개최되고 있는 한국국제축산박람회(Korea International Livestock Expo, KISTOCK)는 올해 9월 21(목)-24(토) 4일간에 걸쳐 대구 EXCO에서 개최되면서 국내축산업의 발전은 물론 해외 축산업과의 교류의 장을 예고하고 있다. 본회를 비롯한 5개 생산자 단체가 공동주최하는 한국국제축산박람회는 올해 본회가 주관으로 국내 축산업 발전은 물론 해외투자 진출과 전시제품의 수출 촉진을 꾀할 것으로 기대되고 있다. 이와 관련 축산박람회추진위원회는 해외저널리스트들을 초청하여 지난 8일-11일 4일간 박람회 진행 상황 및 국내 축산관련업체를 시찰한 바 있다. 본고는 기자가 이 프로그램에 함께 참여하면서 축산박람회 준비상황을 점검하는 기회를 마련하였다.
