A Study of Blasting Demolition by Scaled Model Test and PEC2D Analysis (축소모형실험 및 PFC2D해석에 따른 발파해체 거동분석)

  • In this study, scaled model tests were performed on blasting demolition of reinforced concrete structures and the experimental results were analyzed in comparison with the results of numerical analysis. The tests were designed to induce a progressive collapse, and physical properties of the scaled model were determined using scale factors obtained ken dimension analysis. The scaled model structure was made of a mixture of plaster, sand and water at the ratio determined to yield the best scaled-down strength. Lead wire was used as a substitute for reinforcing bars. The scaled length was at the ratio of 1/10. Selecting the material and scaled factors was aimed at obtaining appropriately scaled-down strength. PFC2D (Particle Flow Code 2-Dimension) employing DEM (Distinct Element Method) was used for the numerical analysis. Blasting demolition of scaled 3-D plain concrete laymen structure was filmed and compared to results of numerical simulation. Despite the limits of 2-D simulation the resulting demolition behaviors were similar to each other. Based on the above experimental results in combination with bending test results of RC beam, numerical analysis was carried out to determine the blasting sequence and delay times. Scaled model test of RC structure resulted in remarkably similar collapse with the numerical results up to 900㎳ (mili-second).

Establishment and Characterization of Canine Mammary Gland Cancer Cell Lines (개 자연발생 유선종양 2종의 세포주 확립 및 특성분석)

  • Two cell lines derived from spontaneous canine mammary gland tumors were established and characterized. Mammary gland tumors from 9 years old pug and 9 years old toy-poodle dogs were collected by aseptic surgical resection and primary culture was performed. The histopathologic examination of tumors revealed adenocarcinoma and complex carcinoma and two dogs died from metastasis of the tumors. The tumor cells were subcultured over 60 times for more than 1 year and morphological consistency maintained. Light microscopic examination, growth curve, doubling time calculation, xenotransplantation to female nude mice, immunohistochemistry for wide spectrum keratin, vimentin, $\alpha$-smooth muscle actin and cytokeratin 8 was performed for characterization. The cell lines exhibited polygonal, elongated cell shape and cytoplasmic bridge and doubling time of 47.1 hrs and 18.6 hrs, respectively. Subcutaneous xenotransplantation to nude mice of the cells produced localized palpable mass within 4 weeks in 4 of 5 and 5 of 5 nude mice, respectively. In immunohistochemical examination one cell line showed strong positive against wide spectrum keratin and cytokeratin 8 and the other cell line showed strong positive against smooth muscle actin and cytokeratin 8. Additional characterization would be possible by investigator's needs and the cell lines may be useful for in vivo and in vitro studies of canine mammary tumor and adjuvant therapies.

A Study on the Origin of Anomalously Low Saline Tsushima Current Water Using $^{228}Ra$ ($^{228}Ra$를 이용한 이상 저염 대마난류수의 기원 추적 연구)

  • Recently it is reported that anomalously low saline surface waters (salinity < 32) occurred at the Ulleung Basin in the East Sea-Japan Sea, during early September to November 1996. Apparent source of such a low saline watermass seems remotely linked to the Changjiang Dilute Water (CDW), which expands to the vicinity of Cheju Island during a flood season. Based on the assumption that waters passing through the Western Channel of the Korea Strait are formed by a mixing of Kuroshio Water and CDW, simplified two end-member mixing model using $^{228}Ra/^{226}Ra$ as a conservative tracer is applied to calculate the contribution of each end member for the formation of low saline surface seawater. Model calculations show CDW contributes $58{\pm}3%$ in September 1996 (S=32.17) and $10{\pm}3%$ in February 1997 (S=34.53) in the formation of surface water flowing into the Western Channel of the Korea Strait. Although results arc deduced from a simplified model with limited data, this study demonstrates that Changjiang discharge is clearly traceable to the interior of the East Sea-Japan Sea in fall season. Undergoing Three Valley Dam construction in the Changjiang River would invoke inevitable changes in the nature and discharge of CDW and its impacts on the marine environment might be significant in the northern East China Sea and even in the Ulleng Basin for coming decades.

Estimation of Measurement Uncertainty in Vitamin C Analysis from Vegetable and Fruit Juice (야채음료 중 비타민 C 분석에 있어서의 측정불확도 추정)

  • This study aimed to determine the amount of vitamin C from vegetable & fruit juice by high performance liquid chromatograhy (HPLC). Components for estimation of measurement uncertainty associated with the analysis of vitamin C, such as standard weight, purity, molecular weight, dilution of standard solution, calibration curve, recovery, and precision, were importantly applied. The estimation of uncertainty obtained with systematic and random error based on the GUM (Guide to the expression of uncertainty in measurement) and EURACHEM document with mathematical calculation and statistical analysis. The components, evaluated ty either Type A or Type B methods, were combined to produce an overall value of uncertainty known as the combined standard uncertainty. An expanded uncertainty was obtained by multiplying the combined standard uncertainty with a coverage factor (k) calculated from the effective degree of freedom. The content of vitamin C from vegetable and fruit juice was 27.53 mg/100g and the expanded uncertainty by multiplying by the coverage factor (k, 2.06) was 0.63 mg/100g at a 95% confidence level. It was concluded that the main sources were, in order of recovery and precision, weight and purity of the reference material, dilution of the standard solution, and calibration curve. Careful experiments on other higher uncertainties is further needed in addition to better personal proficiency in sample analysis in terms of accuracy and precision.

Study for Valuing of Residential Water when Drought Conditions (가뭄상황시 생활용수 가치 추정)

  • 최근 잦은 기상이변으로 인한 자연재해는 그 빈도와 강도가 점차 증가하고 있다. 이러한 기상이변은 결국, 극단적인 가뭄이 닥칠 가능성이 농후할 것이고, 만일 극단적인 가뭄상황이 도래할 경우 제한급수 또는 절수로 인한 일반인이 느끼는 피해정도는 매우 늘어날 것이다. 본 연구는 가뭄상황시 제한급수를 고려한 소비자의 지불의사를 알아보고자, 7대 특 광역시와 32개 가뭄상습지역에 거주하는 일반인을 대상으로 생활용수 수요패턴과 가뭄상황을 고려한 생활용수의 가치를 추정하였다. 조사결과, 수돗물 수질 관련에 대해서는 가뭄상습지역보다 7대광역시가 더 민감하였고, 수돗물 수량에 대해서는 가뭄상습지역이 더 민감한 것으로 나타났다, 지불의사 추정은 양분선택형과 개방형을 혼합하여 지불의사액을 설문하였고, Tobit모형을 이용하여 지불의사액을 추정하였다. 추정결과, 교육수준이 높을 수록, 가구수가 많을수록, 소득이 높을수록 지불의사가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 가뭄으로 인해 생활용수의 25% 제한시에는 약 2010원, 50% 제한시에는 2,395원의 추가적인 지불의사가 있는 것으로 추정되었다. 결국, 조사가구의 평균 수돗물 사용량과 절감량등을 추정하여 계산한 결과, 생활용수 25% 제한시 $1m^3$당 추가적인 지불의사 금액은 약 534원으로 추정된다. 지불의사가 기대했던 것보다 낮은 이유는 소비자가 그 정도의 가뭄을 경험하지 못한데서 오는 조세저항으로 여겨진다. 그러나 이 같은 결과는 가뭄을 회피하기 위해 소비자가 기꺼이 지불할 수 있는 비용은 현재의 물 값보다 훨씬 높다는 것을 의미한다. 알 수 있었다.수 없는 실제 방사선작업 환경에서의 선량평가 수행시, 본 논문에서 제시한 선량평가방법을 적용할 경우 계획된 피폭과 예상하지 못한 방사선장에 대한 피폭을 구분할 수 있어 보다 심도 있는 피폭선량평가 및 방사선관리가 가능할 것으로 판단된다.황산기(黃酸基)의 함량은 가장 적었다내고 있었고, in vivo에서는 복강(復腔)(i. p.) 투여(投與)에서는 $12.9{\sim}22.2%$. 경구(經口)(p.o.) 투여(投與)에서는 $11.2{\sim}21.6%$의 높은 활성(活性)을 나타내고 있었다. 단 peroxidase 활성(活性)은 복강(復腔)(i. p.) 투여(投與)에서는 $129.0{\sim}188.6%$, 경구(經口)(p. o.) 투여(投與)에서는 $111.4{\sim}139.6%$의 활성(活性)을 나타내고 있었다.rucic acid를 다량함유(多量含有)하고 있는 목포단교 12는 다른 두 품종(品種)에 비(比)하여 장쇄지방산에 속하는 eicoseuoic acid가 11.7%로 많이 함유(含有)되어 있었다. 그리고 3품종(品種) 모두 중성지질(中性脂質) 획분(劃分)의 지질(脂質)은 전체지방산(全體脂肪酸) 조성(組成)의 비(比)와 별다른 차이(差異)를 나타내지 않았다.수 있으나 본원에서 사용 중인 장비에서 극히 적은 MU의 사용이 현저한 선량적 오차를 유발하진 않는 것으로 사료되어진다. 그러나 정도 관리 시 그 오차를 확인하는 과정은 장비의 사용과 수명에 따라 지속적으로 관리되어져야 할 것이다.>로 평균

Prediction of Urban Land Cover Change Using Multilayer Perceptron and Markov Chain Analysis (다층 퍼셉트론(MLP)과 마코프 체인 분석(MCA)을 이용한 도심지 피복 변화 예측)

  • The change of land covers in 2026 was prediceted based on the change of urbanization in 1996, 2006 and 2016 in Seoul and surrounding areas in this study. Landsat images were used as the basic data, and MLP (Multilayer Perceptron) and MCA (Markov Chain Analysis) were integrated for future prediction for the study area. The land cover transition potentials were calculated by setting up sub-models in MLP and the driving factors of land cover transition from 1996 to 2006 and transition probabilities were calculated using MCA to generate the land cover map of 2016. This was compared to the land cover map of 2016 from Landsat. MLP and MCA were verified and the future land covers of 2026 were predicted using the land cover map from Landsat in 2006 and 2016. As a result, it was predicted that the major land cover changes from 1996 to 2006 were from Barren Land and Grass Land to Builtup Area, and the same trend of transition will be remained for 2026. This study is meaningful in that it is applied for the first time to predict the future coating change in Seoul and surrounding areas by the MLP-MCA method.

Optimum Chemical Cleaning Conditions for Ceramic Microfiltration Membrane Process (세라믹 정밀여과막 공정을 위한 최적 약품세척 방안)

  • This study was carried out to find the optimum chemical cleaning (CIP) conditions for ceramic microfiltration membrane process of Y drinking water treatment plant. B train consists of coagulation as pretreatment process with membrane was chemically cleaned 9 times more than that of A train with ozonation and coagulation. The frequent CIP of B train was due to improper CIP method suggested by membrane manufacture as well as different membrane fouling between A and B train resulting from the different pretreatment processes. That is, recovery rate of CIP was overestimated because the rate was calculated based on normalized trans membrane pressure (TMP) rather than normalized permeability. And also, iron oxide fouling was ineffectively removed by citric acid. By using a mixture of 1% citric acid and 0.1 N sulfuric acid as reagent for acid CIP step, the recovery rate of CIP was the highest while CIP efficiency by 0.1 N sulfuric acid was the lowest. When sulfuric acid concentration increased from 0.1 N to 0.3 N in mixture, total recovery rate of CIP was not increased due to the decreased CIP efficiency in alkali CIP step by 0.3% NaOCl although its rate in acid CIP step was increased. It was proved through the experiment result of CIP sequence changes that an acid followed by alkali CIP was more effective than that of the reverse method.

Development of Ceramic Membrane for Metal Ion Separation of Lignin Extract from Pulp Process (펄프공정으로부터 배출되는 리그닌 추출물의 금속이온 분리를 위한 세라믹 분리막 개발)

  • In this study, a study was carried out for the separation of metal ions in lignin extract discharged from the pulp process. alumina powders were mixed with DMAc (N, N-dimethylacetamide) solvent and PESf (Polyethersulfone) polymer, PVP (polyvinylpyrrolidone) dispersant was added and slip casting method was used to prepare the membrane. The membrane was measured for pore size through a CFP (Capillary Flow Porometer) device and the surface and cross-section of the membrane were observed through a FE-SEM (Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope). The flux was calculated by measuring the filtered weight per hour using a separation experiment device. Pore size measurements were performed under increasing pressure from 0 psi to 30 psi. The pore size of the membrane was $0.4{\mu}m$ and the flux decreased from the initial flux value of $6.36kg{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}h^{-1}$ to $1.98kg{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}h^{-1}$ due to the fouling of the membrane. After the permeation experiment, membrane contaminants were removed by simple washing. Separation experiments showed that Na contained in the initial lignin extract was reduced by 69%, Fe was removed by 87%, K by 95%, Ca by 93% and Mg by 96%.

Kinetic Study on Preparation of Iron Fine Powders by Hydrogen Reduction of Ferous Chloride Vapor (염화물의 기상환원반응에 의한 미립질 철분말의 생성속도에 관한 연구)

  • A kinetic study on the preparation of iron powder by hydrogen reduction of ferrous chloride vapor has been carried out both experimentally and theoretically. For the preparation of iron powder, ferrous chloride was vaporized and transported to a reaction zone by Ar gas used as carrier. Ferrous chloride vapor and hydrogen were mixed and subject to a reduction reaction at high temperature to produce iron powder and HCI gas. Iron powder was collected with organic solvent at the end of reaction zone and HCI gas was also absorbed in a caustic soda solution to determine the conversion ratio of ferrous chloride. For the development of rate equations, a 1st-order reaction and equilibration of ferrous chloride vapor with Ar gas were assumed. According to the results, the rate constant, k could be expressed as $k=7,879exp(-53,840/RT)\textrm{dm}^3/mole.sec$ and the activation energy was found to be 53.84kJ/mole. From TEM observation, the particle size distribution of iron powder produced was found to be in the range of $0.1~1.0{\mu\textrm{m}}$ which was not significantly influenced by reaction temperature or gas flow rates.

  • Aluminum-pillared clay was prepared by the intercalation of Al-hydroxy oligomer into domestic bentonite. The solid products are characterized by XRD, nitrogen adsorption/desorption, EDX, and SEM. The solid products show relatively high specific surface areas in the range of $104{\sim}228m^2/g$, and their specific surface area, micropore surface area, and micropore volume increase with increasing the mole ratio of OH/Al. From the results of pore size distribution calculated by BJH equation, it was found that aluminum-pillared clay also contains much mesopore near $40{\AA}$. These results indicate that Al-hydroxy oligomer was intercalated into bentonite, and aluminum oxide was pillared among the layers of bentonite, and micropore and mesopore was finally developed into layers. As OH/Al mole ratio increases, the thermal stability of aluminum-pillared clay increases. This result can be explained by the fact that the density of layers is increased due to the formation of aluminum pillars.
