Effectiveness Analysis of Aerator for the Prevention of Cavitation in the spillway (여수로 공동현상 발생방지를 위한 공기혼입장치의 효과분석)

  • 최근 기후변화에 따른 이상홍수의 발생으로 인하여 댐의 수문학적 안정성 확보가 필요하다. 이에 따라 댐의 비상여수로를 건설하여 이상홍수에 대비한 대책을 마련하고 있다. 여수로의 운영상 고유속의 흐름이 방류되는데 이때 공동현상이 발생하며, 공동현상으로 인해 발생된 공동이 파괴되면서 구조물에 큰 피해를 주고 있다. 이러한 피해예방을 위해 현재까지 개발된 가장 경제적이고 효과적인 대책은 공기혼입장치이며, 국내에는 최근에 적용되고 있으나, 세부적인 설계기준과 설계기법, 절차등이 부족한 현실이다. 본 연구에서는 여수로 구조물을 대상으로 발생하는 공동현상에 대해서 이론적, 실험적인 분석을 실시하고자 한다. 공동현상에 대한 이론적인 배경과 최근의 연구동향을 분석하고, 국내 기존댐에 적용한 공기혼입장치 설치에 대해서 사례연구를 실시하여 적정성을 검토하였다. 또한 여수로의 대표단면인 개착식 여수로의 구형단면에 대해서는 주암조절지댐을 선정하고 터널식 여수로의 원형단면에 대해서는 임하댐 비상여수로를 대상구조물로 선정하여 각각 1차원 수치해석을 실시한 결과를 토대로 공기혼입장치의 위치 및 최적규모를 산정하고자 한다. 1차원 수치해석을 통해 분석된 공동현상 및 공기혼입장치에 대해서 3차원 수치해석을 실시하여 압력변화 및 공기혼입량등 공기혼입장치의 설치전과 설치후에 대한 효과를 검증하고 마지막으로 수리모형실험을 실시하여 1차원, 3차원 수치해석 결과에 대한 검증과 구조물의 안정성 증대를 확인하고, 추후 기타 여수로 구조물의 설계시 참고할 수 있는 기초자료가 될 수 있도록 하고자 한다.

Experimental Study for Capability of Air Slot in Siphon Spillway to Control Outflow Discharge (사이펀 여수로 공기혼입장치(air slot)의 방류량 조절 능력에 대한 실험 연구)

  • In this study, capability of an air slot in a siphon spillway for controlling outflow discharge is investigated through hydraulic experiments. Arc and rectangular shapes of air slot are considered and the open area of air slot can be varied. Complex air-regulated flow occurs inside of the siphon spillway when the air slot is installed on it. The same discharge is measured at the same water level inside the reservoir when the water level rises or falls. Nondimensional discharge through the siphon spillway decreases as nondimensional open area of the air slot increases when head differences and water levels of reservoir are constant. The hydraulic experiments show that the control of outflow discharge of siphon spillway is possible by controlling the open area of the air slot.

A Study on the Mechanism of Oil Aeration in Automotive Engines(I) (엔진 오일의 공기 혼입 발생기구에 관한 연구(I))

  • We developed a new measuring equipment which makes it possible to perform on-line measurements with the merits of its implicity and the time-saving characteristics. By using the newly developed measurement system, the amount of aeration is directly measured on several parameters, i.e, engine speed, oil quantity, oil deterioration, oil temperature and viscosity, etc. It showed that oil aeration is strongly related to be gas movements in crankcase and the residence time of circulating oil in oil pan. In addition, in order to clarify the mechanism of aeration and to quantify the degree of aeration, a modelling analysis to predict aeration was performed , and as a guiding parameter, Aeration Index was defined. Finally, the parameter was compared with the actual amount of aeration, and it was confirmed that they gave a good correlation with each other.

엔진 오일의 공기 혼입과 윤활 특성

  • 여러 가지 필수적인 윤활유 성상과 함께 요즘 개발된 엔진에서 요구되는 중요한 특성 중 하나가 윤활유 내의 공기 혼입(aeration) 문제이다. 만일 윤활유 내에 공기가 일정 한도 이상 혼입되면 윤활유가 수행하는 일반 기능 중 하중을 분산시키는 압력 분산 작용과 윤활 작용 및 마찰열을 식혀 주는 냉각 작용이 제대로 되지 않아 엔진 수명과 내구성에 심각한 문제를 초래한다. 특히 현재 밸브 소음 저감 및 정비성 향상을 위해 대부분의 엔진에서 채용하고 있는 hydraulic valve lash adjuster(HLA)에 미치는 영향이 가장 심각하다. HLA는 그 작동 특성이 엔진 오일의 비 압축성을 이용하고 있기 때문에 만일 HLA 내부의 고압실에 공기가 오일에 섞여 들어간다변 밸브 시스템 강성이 떨어지게 되어 오히려 HLA 사용 목적에 반해 밸크 이상 거동에 의한 소음이 유발될 뿐만 아니라 심하면 밸브가 파단되는 심각한 현상이 초래되기도 한다. 상기한 바와 같이 aeration 현상은 경우에 따라 매우 심각한 문제를 유발하기도 하며 엔진이 고속 고출력화 하면서 그 특성은 더욱 관심사가 되어 왔다. 따라서 엔진 각 부분의 올바른 기능과 신뢰성 확보를 위해 aeration의 특징 발생 원인 및 대책을 살펴보고 특히 oil aeration이 HLA와 엔진 베어링에 미치는 영향에 대해 분석 고찰해 봄으로써 그 특성을 이해하고자 한다.

A Study on Crack Reduction of Covering Concrete with Fibers in Basement (섬유를 혼입한 지하층 누름콘크리트의 균열저감을 위한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to estimate crack reduction properties of covering concrete with fibers in basement. Air contents, slump, compressive strength, tensile strength and plastic shrinkage has been tested to conduct the optimum addition ratio and type of fiber. The results is a following. For the properties of air contents, all of the specimens added fibers shown the higher than plain concrete. For the flowability, slump decreased about 40-80% when all of the specimens added fibers. For the strength properties, the specimens added nylon fiber shown higher compressive and tensile strength about 5-15% comparing with other concrete. For the plastic shrinkage, cracking decreased when the fiber added comparing with plain concrete. Especially, when nylon fiber added in the concrete, the plastic shrinkage did not occurred. For the overall consideration, when the addition ratio of nylon fiber is 0.6%, the press concrete is identified as showed optimum properties.

  • In Korea, press concrete in basements is mainly applied using plain concrete. This system has undesirable defects such as cracks caused by plastic shrinkage and irregular temperature distribution. To solve this problem, metal lath and fibers have been used in the past. However, they have not been effective in controlling cracks. This study analyzed the reduction of plastic shrinkage cracking for press concrete using various admixtures in a basement has been. In the air contents test, the specimens with various admixtures showed air contents similar to plain concrete (4.5±1.5%). The specimens using silica fume, super plasticizer agent, and SBR showed higher compressive strength by about 10-15% than plain concrete. Cracking decreased when the MC, super plasticizer, and SBR were added. When MC was used in the concrete, the plastic shrinkage did not occur.

Evaluation of Workability and Strength in Concrete with Cellulose Fibers (셀룰로오즈 섬유 함유 콘크리트의 작업 성능 및 강도 평가)

  • Cracking due to material behavior like drying shrinkage easily occurs since tensile strength in concrete is very low at initial curing stage. In this paper, workability such as air content and slump was evaluated on CFC(Cellulose Fiber Concrete) with 0.0 ~ 2.0% of fiber addition, and the tests for tensile/compressive strength were performed. With increasing addition ratio of fiber, air content and slump kept similar level to 1.0kg/㎥ of addition ratio, and this trend was effective to 2 hours after mixing. Strength was enhanced with increasing addition ratio, which showed 7.0 ~ 9.0% for compressive strength and 7.0 ~ 22.0% for tensile strength, respectively. The tensile strength increased relatively more, which show the addition of cellulose fiber was very effective to crack resistance. The workability in CFC can be guaranteed for 2 hours in the following conditions like 2 minutes of mixing period and 1.0kg/㎥ of addition ratio of fiber.

Evaluation of Engineering Properties in Early-Age Concrete with TDFA (TDFA를 혼입한 초기재령 콘크리트의 공학적 특성 평가)

  • This paper presents an evaluation of engineering properties in TDFA(Tire Derived Fuel Ash)- based concrete in early age. Concrete containing 0.5 of w/b(water to binder) ratio and 20% of FA(Fly Ash) replacement ratio are prepared, and FA content are replaced with TDFA from 3% to 12% for evaluating the effect of TDFA on fresh and hardened concrete properties. With higher than 6% of TDFA replacement ratio, workability is significantly worsened but it is improved with more SP(Super plasticizer) and AE(Air Entrainer) agent. Concrete with 6~12% of TDFA shows reasonable strength development and better resistance to carbonation and chloride attack in spite of early-aged condition. However concrete with 6% TDFA shows poor resistance to freezing and thawing action due to insufficient air content. If air content and workability are obtained, replacement of TDFA to 12% can be used for concrete with FA.

Spalling Properties of the High Strength Concrete Containing PP Fiber Subjected to Fire Mixture Factors and Drying Condition (배합요인 및 건조상태 변화에 따른 PP섬유 혼입 고강도 콘크리트의 폭렬특성)

  • This paper is to investigate the affecting factors on spalling of the high strength concrete including W/B, air content and moisture condition as well as PP fiber contents subjected to fire. An increase with 0.05% of PP fiber resulted in a reduction of slump flow by as much as 11%. Ten percent of air contents due to excessive amounts of AE agent does not lead to variance of slump flow, regardless of PP fiber content. For the effect of the compressive strength, high strength concrete with 15, 25 and 35% of W/B gained 60 MPa~100 MPa of the compressive strength. High strength concrete with H-air had half of compressive strength of that with L-air due to large amount of air. Fire test was conducted in accordance with KS F 2257-1 for 1 hour. Spalling did not occur with all specimens containing more than 0.10% of PP fiber except those with 15% of W/B. Moreover, it is interesting to note that the specimens with more than 10% of air content and with oven dried condition, respectively, had no spalling even if the content of PP fiber is 0.05 vol.%.

Durability Assessment for Crushed Sand Wet-mix Shotcrete Mixed with Mineral Admixtures (부순모래를 사용한 습식 숏크리트의 광물성 혼화재료 혼입에 따른 내구성 평가)

  • The purpose of this dissertation was to investigate the effect of mineral admixtures, such as fly ash, blast furnace slag powder, meta kaolin and silica fume, on the basic properties and durability of crushed sand shotcrete, selecting a series of shotcrete mixtures with a variable admixture. Compressive strength increased as the content of mineral admixtures increased, specially it was the most effective when using meta kaolin both at sample specimen and core after shotcreting. Rapid chloride ion permeability test and sulfuric acid resistance test showed that both durability increased as the substitute rate of mineral admixture increased. In air void analysis with image analysis, the targeted the spacing factor and specific surface were not satisfied because air-entrained agent was not used.
