Wideband Crosstalk Analysis of Coupled Bondwires for High-Speed Plastic Packaging (초고속 플라스틱 패키지를 위한 본딩와이어의 광대역 혼신 해석)

  • Signal transmission and crosstalk of coupled bondwires buried in plastic packages are analyzed using the Method of Moments and the Fourier Transform algorithm. It is also shown that the quasi-static crosstalk model of SPICE is inappropriate for designing the high-speed plastic packages. Plastic packaging material, increasing the self and mutual capacitances, is found to be helpful for the signal transmission integrity due to the dielectric compensation effect. However, it is also observed that the plastic material increases the crosstalk due to the radiation-enhanced mutual coupling effect. By investigating the geometrical and material dependence of the pulse transmission and crosstalk, it is found that the radiation-enhanced coupling effect is significant for most of typical bondwire geometries and plastic package materials. These calculation results can be effectively used for designing plastic packages of high-speed digital IC's and monolithic RFIC's.

A Minimum Crosstalk Wire Spacing Method by Linear Programming (선형프로그래밍에 의한 최소 혼신 배선간 간격조정방법)

  • This paper deals with a crosstalk minimization method by wire spacing. The suggested method uses linear programming method and consider crosstalk of both horizontal segments and vertical segments. In this paper, we suggest a method which can predict the coupling length between vertical segments in the final routing result using longest path algorithm. By the suggested method, we can make LP problem without integer variable. Therefore, it is much faster to solve the problem. In the case of crosstalk optimization, the suggested method optimized peak crosstalk 11.2%, and 3% total crosstalk more than wire perturbation method. The execution time of the suggested method is as fast as it takes 11 seconds when Deutsch is optimized.

  • RF 혼신보호비는 동종 혹은 상이한 전송시스템간의 주파수 공유가 요구되는 상황에서 각 전송시스템의 운용 및 채널 배치에 반드시 필요한 정보로써, 이미 PAL, SECAM 방식의 아날로그 TV와 Eureka 147을 포함한 디지털방송과의 혼신에 대해서는 미국과 유럽, 일본에서 측정결과를 발표한 상태지만, NTSC방식과 Eureka 147 방식과의 혼신보호비에 대해서는 아직까지 측정이 이루어지지 않은 상태이다. 따라서 NTSC TV방식을 사용하고 있는 국가에서 Eureka 147 방식을 DAB 방송표준으로 도입하고자 할 때 혼신보호비를 필요로 할 것이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 유럽의 디지털오디오방송(Digital Audio Broadcasting; DAB) 시스템인 Eureka 147방식에 대한 NTSC방식의 아날로그 TV 음성신호의 RF 혼신보호비 측정결과를 제시하고자 한다.

  • 서로 인접한 두 개의 무선광통신 빔에서 발생하는 혼신을 소거하기 위하여 수신부에 편광기를 사용하였다. 광원측에서는 두 개의 레이저다이오드의 편파가 서로 수직하도록 설치하고 수신부에서는 각각의 편파에 일치하도록 편광기를 설치한 자동정렬형 광검출기를 구성하였다. 수신부의 포토다이오드는 각각의 편파에 일치하는 빔의 최대점을 찾아서 자동적으로 정렬한다. 두 개의 광원의 파장이 유사하여 광학적 필터로 혼신의 소거가 어려운 구간에서 이 구조를 사용하면 쉽게 혼신을 해소한다.

  • Eureka 747 DAB 시스템의 혼신보호비는 AM, FM, PAL, SECAM, DAB 등의 동일채널 및 인접채널 간섭원에 대한 조사가 수행되었으나, NTSC TV 간섭원에 대해서는 분석되지 않았다. Eureka 141 DAB 시스템 대부분이 TV 대역인 Band III에서 운용되는 상황을 고려한다면, NTSC TV 간섭원에 대한 혼신보호비 분석은 반드시 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 Eureka 147 DAB 시스템과 아날로그 NTSC TV 시스템간의 혼신보호비중 NTSC TV 간섭원에 대한 Eureka 147 DAB 시스템의 혼신보호비 측정을 위한 간섭환경 설정방법 및 DAB송수신기를 이용한 BER 측정방법, 그리고 측정결과를 제시한다.

  • As inter-wire spacing on a VLSI chip becomes smaller with the evolution of VLSI fabrication technology, coupling capacitance between adjacent wires is increasing rapidly over ground capacitance. Therefore, it becomes necessary to take into account the crosstalk caused mainly by coupling capacitance during the layout design of VLSI systems. This paper deals with layer assignment problem to minimize crosstalk in three layers gridded channel routing. The problem is formulated in 0/1 integer linear programming style. Upper bound for cost function is estimated for the fast termination. Experiment shows the effectiveness of our approach to minimize crosstalk.

  • In this paper, cross ambiguity function map is proposed to estimate the location of a unknown interferer which emits the harmful radio in the satellite communication network. To estimate the interferer, a time difference between received radio signals at earth stations and a frequency difference caused by the movement of interferers or receiving earth stations are calculated. Therefore, cross ambiguity function is used to calculate that values. The calculating process of the time and the frequency differences using cross ambiguity function is operated at every designated time then the correlation values between the time and frequency are calculated. After calcuation, the final location of the harmful interferer is estimated. From the simulation results, about 800 m distance error is occurred at 10~4 dB of $E_b/N_0$ and about 13 km distance errer is occurred at -20 dB of $E_b/N_0$.

  • In this paper, we analyzed and measured the electrical crosstalk characteristics of a triplex transceiver module for ethernet Passive optical networks(EPONS). And we improved the electrical crosstalk levels using Dummy ground lines with signal lines. The triplex transceiver module consists of a laser diode as a transmitter, a digital photodetector as a digital data receiver, and a analog photodetector as a community antenna television signal receiver. And there are integrated on silicon substrate. The digital receiver and analog receiver sensitivity have to meet -24 dBm at $BER=10^{-l2}$ and -7.7 dBm at 44 dB SNR. And the electrical crosstalk levels have to maintain less than -86 dB from DC to 3 GHz. From analysis and measurement results, the proposed silicon substrate structure that contains the Dummy ground line with $100\;{\mu}m$ space from signal lines and separates 4 mm among devices respectively, is satisfied the electrical crosstalk level compared to simple structure. This proposed structure can be easily implemented with design convenience and greatly reduced the silicon substrate size about $50\%$.
