This study aims to suggest the ways of mutually beneficial cooperation between large companies and small companies in the field of telecommunication services. To achieve this goal, it attempts to introduce mutually beneficial cooperation plans based on horizontal relationships rather than vertical relationships among large companies and small companies. Research contents will suggest the similarities and differences of individual telecommunication companies by analyzing mutually beneficial cooperation plans of large companies and small companies based on domestic three telecommunication companies. It examines the perceptions of people who are engaged in large companies and small companies in order to enhance the recognition on the mutual cooperation of large companies and small and medium companies. Based on research results, it attempts the activation methods of mutual cooperation of large and small companies.

Research collaboration between industry and universities is high on many policy agenda's nowadays, especially with regard to science-based technological innovation. Nonetheless, there have been few attempts at examining large-scale systematic and quantitative data on the nature and extent of university-industry collaborations. The objective of this paper is to explore the patterns and trends of research collaborations between universities and companies for scientific knowledge production in the seven science-based technologies. This paper uses co-authored articles published in major scientific journals in the world as an indicator of collaborative scientific research between universities, companies and governmental research institutes. The tens of thousands of co-authorship papers in the northeast region in the US over the years 2006 to 2010 were analyzed for collaboration patterns and their spatial characteristics. This paper finds that there were increases both in the proportions of multiple authored, particularly five or more, papers, and in the volume of international collaborations. By examining a type of collaborations between different institutions, research collaboration between universities and companies in this region is relatively high share at national level. This suggests that the national or even international scale seems more appropriate for innovation policies.

It has become difficult with R&D capabilities of single nation to secure the weapons systems we need, particularly when faced with an increasingly limited budget and transforming into state-of-the-art weapon systems. Therefore, our country is also pursuing international joint technology cooperation for the efficient use of limited defense budgets. In this study, we analyzed the strategy focused on international joint technology cooperation with India. We identified three groups based on the level of defense science and technology cooperation, then we also present a possible cooperation areas and implementation strategies for each group. In addition, we suggest the need for maintenance of the legal system, and professional organizations in order to efficiently access the Indian market.

우리 협회는 국립중앙도서관으로부터 위탁받은 '도서관협력망 협력사업 표준모델 개발 연구' 용역사업을 2001년 6월부터 12월까지 6개월간 수행하여 12월 중순 국립중앙도서관에 보고서를 제출하였다. 본 연구결과를 널리 도서관계에 알려 향후 지속적인 협력사업 활성화를 위한 논의에 도움을 주고자 국립중앙도서관의 허락을 받아 이 연구결과의 결론부분을 본지에 재수록한다.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of social network service on the collaborative skills, collaborative satisfaction, and interaction within groups in collaborative learning. The group that used KakaoTalk, one of social network service for working on the collaborative task in the course exhibited higher collaborative skills and collaborative satisfaction (p<.05) than the group that did not use KakaoTalk. When analyzing the amount and the content of the messages produced by the group that used KakaoTalk, the amount of messages did not have an impact on the collaborative skills and collaborative satisfaction.

This study intends to develop a model of nation-wide library cooperative system for Korea. It analyzes and investigates the definitions, types and models of library cooperation; and current status and problems in operations of major cooperative systems in Korea and other nations. There are some cooperative systems such as cooperative system for public libraries operated by the National Library of Korea and other systems based on their regions or library types in Korea. New model of nationwide cooperative system can improve library functions through many cooperative plans.

This study was initiated with the need of studies to promote learning and use of collaboration skills that learners should have in collaborative learning in CSCL. The researcher carried out research on 96 students taking the course of 'educational methods and educational technology' in K collage to take a look at the impact of prior training on collaboration in CSCL and interaction of types of collaborative scripts. To answer the first research question, the scores of each group's chatting in collaborative learning process and messages represented in the process of task performance based on collaborative skills were measured and analyzed. In addition, to answer the second research question, the scores of each group's shared mental model formulation based on relevant evaluation standards were analyzed. This study results, First, there was no significant difference in the acquisition of collaboration skills caused by interaction of prior training on collaboration and collaboration skills and collaborative scripts. However, it turned out that types of collaborative scripts give significant impacts on acquisition of collaboration skills. Second, there was also no significant difference between prior training on collaboration and the formulation of shared mental model by the interaction of collaborative scripts. However, it is showed that types of collaborative scripts have significant impacts on the formation of shared mental model.

From a point of knowledge based view, IUI(Industry-University-Institute) R&D collaboration is recognized as an important way to acquire lacking technology and knowledge. In this study, we investigated firm performance of IUI R&D collaboration on national R&D project. That is, we identified whether a collaborative research really affects firm performance, and whether firm performance is differed by types of collaboration. To test our hypotheses, we selected 250 Korean SMEs(Small and Medium Enterprises) which were funded from government R&D for 2006-2009, and we verified relations between the ratio and/or types of R&D collaboration and firm performance. Firm performance was measured by number of patent applied and ROA(Return on Assets) after completion of the project (in year t+1). Findings showed that the relationship between the ratio of R&D collaboration and technological performance was inverted U-shape. Among types of R&D collaboration, though inter-industry collaborative research was negatively related to technological performance, IUI collaborative research was positively related to technological performance. However, the ratio and types of R&D collaboration had no relation to economic performance. The results of this study will contribute to the strategy of SMEs as well as the policy of a government with regard to IUI R&D collaboration.

본고는 미 일 원자력 협력의 구체적 사례 연구를 통해 일본이 미국으로부터 원자력의 신뢰성, 투명성 확보를 위해 어떠한 노력을 해왔는가를 살펴봄으로서, 한 미 원자력 협력에의 반면교사를 도출하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 특히 핵무기 비보유국으로서는 유일하게 대규모 상업적 재처리시설을 가동 중인 일본이 어떠한 과정과 방법을 통해 로카쇼무라 재처리시설의 가동을 이루어 냈는가를 고찰하였다. 아울러 1990년대 이후 미국의 핵비확산 정책에 어떻게 대응하여 왔으며, 일본의 국제적 원자력 투명성 제고를 위해 어떠한 노력을 하고 있는지를 대미 원자력협력을 통해 살펴본다. 한 미 원자력협정 개정을 준비해야 하는 우리의 입장에서 일본의 경험은 매우 귀중한 연구 자료가 된다. 물론 일본의 원자력이 기반하고 있는 상황과 조건이 우리의 그것과는 상이하다 하더라도, 일본의 대미 원자력 협력의 상세, 일본이 미 일 원자력 협력을 통해 이루어 낸 성과 등은 우리에게 소중한 반면교사가 될 것은 분명하다. 이러한 관점에서 본고는 일본의 경험이 우리에게 주는 시사점을 결론적으로 도출하고 있다.

Collaborative technology development is now one of the most significant modes of activity in the global scientific community. However, the international cooperation of science and technology simultaneously provides opportunities and challenges, and the results of global R&D collaboration can be positive or negative as the cooperation conditions of the parties may be different according to the types or characteristics of the participants and the pattern, purpose, and motivation of cooperation. In order to minimize the risk and improve the performance of cooperation, more comprehensive as well as micro-level research is needed. This study investigates a case of successful collaborative R&D conducted by several firms, universities, and public research organizations in both Korea and the U.S.A. The aim of this study is to identify the factors of successful R&D collaboration.
