On Prediction of Ground Heave and the Performance of the Isolation-tube Shafts (지반 괭창량 예측과 분리형 현장 타설 말뚝의 거동)

  • An experimental study, which included four 305mm-diameter test shafts, one reference shaft with standard design and three test shafts with isolation tubes, is described. The soil was also soil heave and shrinkage that occur during suction changes at the field site. The test shafts were monitored for a period of about 18 months. Maximum ground movements exceeding 35mm were observed. Movements of only 1 to 2mm were observed in the test shafts with isolation tubes, while movements of 4 to 5mm were observed in the reference shaft. A simple computing model was developed to predict, based on suction changes, the maximum amount of ground heave. Relationship among suction. total stress, and volumetric strain was abtained in the laborstory. This relationship, used as inputs to the predictive model, enabled the computation of the maximum ground heave.

Prediction Method for Road Traffic Noise (도로교통소음 예측방법에 관한 연구)

  • This study is aimed to show that revised prediction method in road traffic noise after comparing prediction method of National Institute of Environmental Research with that of the Acoustical Society of Japan. For this purpose, prediction equation and caluation procedure of each case was programmized and data predicted by each method were compared with those measured in the 14 fields. The result show that data predicted by 14 fields. The result show that data predicted by the method proposed in this study were closer to the data measured in the fields than those predicted by National Institute of Environmental Research and the Acoustical Society of Japan in the surroundings of urban express way (include highway) and general traffic road where the vehicle speed is higher than 40km/h.

  • In order to understand the present situation of bridge scouring and to provide the fundamental information for bridge design, in-situ measured data is analyzed for bridge scours at small and medium streams in the heartland of Korea. The physical parameters affecting the bridge scouring such as flow depth, velocity, pier length and width, scouring depth, and the angle between flow and pier are extensively surveyed and measured. According to the locality and the pier type data are classified to analyze. With these data, some important factors for the scour depth such as flow depth, angle and Froude number are investigated and applied to existing formulas proposed by many researchers. In addition, the computational results are compared with the measured and some of the applicable formulas in this region are recommended.

  • 간선도로의 유입부 설계에는 도로 표면에 떨어진 강우만을 고려하여 빗물받이 간격, 형태 등을 결정하고 있으나, 현실적으로는 간선도로와 연결된 소규모 도로에서 횡유입부로 유입되지 않는 유량이 간선도로의 침수를 가중시키고 있는 실정이다. 이러한 점들을 고려할 때, 침수피해에 의한 시민들의 재산을 보호하고 불편을 덜어주기 위해 소규모 도로의 합리적인 배수시설이 필요하며, 이런 배수시설로 부각되는 횡유입부의 차집효율을 분석할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 횡유입부의 설계 실태를 조사하고, 현장조사를 실시하여 수리인자들을 실측하여, 실험장치의 제작과 효율적인 실험조건을 선정하였다. 도로에서 횡방향으로 설치되어 있는 빗물받이 유입구의 규모에 따른 가능 최대 차집유량과 그에 따른 효율을 분석하기 위하여 도로 종경사$(2{\sim}11.5%)$, 유량$(1.5{\sim}24{\ell}/sec)$, 빗물받이 유입구의 규모 및 형태(TYPEⅠ, TYPEⅡ)를 변화시키면서 실험을 실시하였다. 실측 자료를 분석한 결과, 도로의 종경사가 6%이상이 되면, 횡유입부의 차집효율이 급히 감소되는 것을 알 수 있었으며, 빗물받이 유입구 TYPEⅠ의 형태가 TYPEⅡ의 경우보다 차집효율이 현저하게 감소하고 있음을 알 수 있었다.

  • Numerical integration-based program which simulates motion of pile driven by vibratory pile driver was developed for predicting rate of penetration of pile. Rate of penetration of pile calculated from developed program was compared with those of field test. As pile penetration depth increases, the difference between predicted rate of penetration and measured rate of penetration decreases. It was concluded that the reason for large difference between the predicted value and the measured value at shallower depths was attributed to decrease of vertical compressive force caused from relatively larger flexural and torsional motion of sheet pile.

  • As outdoor environment become worse due to concentration of population in large cities, the importance of environmental control strategies such as the arrangement of green space or water space and ventilation paths, has been increasingly recognized. However, most of the studies focus on the assessment on outdoor thermal environment, few studies focus on the interrelationship between thermal environment in residential block and human thermal comfort. The aims of this study is to develop the outdoor planning method to reduce the heating/cooling load in an apartment unit or entire block by the sustainable approaches in outdoor environmental design. In this paper, on the basis of the prior studies, the effect of the outdoor thermal environment on human thermal comfort will be analysed.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 3차원 수리 모델인 ELCOM(Estuary, Lake and Coastal Ocean Model)과 물질 전달모델인 CAEDYM(Computational Aquatic Ecosystem Dynamic Model)을 이용하여 성층화된 저수지로 밀도류 형태로 유입한 부유사의 이송과 확산 그리고 침강특성을 해석하는데 있다. ELCOM은 3차원 수리동력학 모델로써 시공간적인 유속과 수온변화를 예측하는데 사용되었으며, CAEDYM과 매 계산시간 마다 동적으로 연결(Dynamic coupling)되어 부유입자의 이송, 확산, 침강 과정을 모의하였다. 개발된 3차원 모델의 예측 성능은 2004년 홍수기 동안 대청호에서 실측한 자료를 사용하여 검증하였다. 모델의 모의변수는 입자크기별로 구분된 부유물질(SS) 그룹이며, 현장 실측자료인 탁도($C_T$)와 모델 변수인 SS간의 변환을 위해 저수지 지점 별로 측정한 SS-$C_T$ 상관관계를 사용함으로써 부유 입자의 크기분포의 공간적 변동 특성을 반영하였다. 모델은 탁수가 유입하는 환경에서 저수지 성층구조의 변화와 유입 탁수의 밀도류 거동특성, 유입한 부유사의 이송과 확산 그리고 침강특성을 비교적 잘 모의하였다. 저수지로 유입한 부유입자 중 입경이 $20{\mu}m$ 이상인 입자는 매우 빠른 속도로 저수지 바닥에 퇴적된 반면, $10{\mu}m$ 이하의 입자들은 중층에 오랜 시간 부유하며 장기탁수문제를 유발하는 원인이 되었다.

Prediction Model of Propagation Path Loss of the Free Space in the Sea (해수면 자유공간의 전파경로손실 예측 모델)

  • All of propagation path loss prediction models, which have been presented up to date, are oかy for ground living space. In reality, sea surface free space is different from ground living space in physical hierarchical structure. If the propagation path prediction model for ground living space is applied to the sea surface free space, propagation path loss will be smaller than actual value, while the maximum service straight line will become shorter. Thus this paper proposed and simulated the propagation path loss prediction model for predicting propagation path loss more accurately in sea surface free space, with its focus on CDMA mobile communication frequency band. Then the simulation results were compared to actual survey to verify its practicality.

  • With the proliferation of nonlinear loads such as switching mode power supplies, high neurtral harmonic currents in three-phase four-wire distribution system have been observed. It has been known that the grounded impedance has an effect on the neutral current of a system which operates with harmonics present since the neutral conductor is grounded. On-site measurements of harmonic currents and voltages were made and the corresponding equivalent circuit was developed. The circuit model under study was simulated numerically and graphically through the use of the software MATLAB. Simulation results verifying the relationship between the neutral harmonic current and ground impedance are presented.

  • In order to retrieve ocean wind from SAR() image, and to estimate and validate between SAR-derived wind and in-situ wind, with RADAR SAR ocean images and real time marine meteorological data. It was used images with more than 10km to analyze the band of wind in SAR image by FFT(First Fourier Transformation) method and was used CMOD5 as wind retrieval model to retrieve ocean wind. In this study, generally it showed good results as RMS presented 0.8m/s for speed and 8 degree for direction, and especially when wind was hish speed, it presented very good results.
