Purposes of the study were to find out the joint effects of two salient appearance cues-hair colors and hair lengths on males fashion images, using 729 university students in Daejon city and a Chungnam province. The study was a quasi experiment; the dependent variables were hair lengths(4 levels) and hair colors(4 levels)and the dependent variable was a set of semantic different of scales which was consisted of 40 hi-polar adjectives, The data were analyzed by a factor analysis, 3-way ANOVA, and the results were as follows. Hair lengths effected on the image of five dimensions, salient, social, potency, evaluate and dynamics while hair colors effected on salients, social and potency dimensions. The most significant interaction effect between hair color and lengths were existed on the salient image: For the longer haired males, the color effects became less evident then normal to shorten haired males and it can be concluded that when two salient cues were combined one cue's effect became discounted.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of hair-style (straight and wave), hair-length(short, medium, and long), and type of hat design (no-hat, beret, cloche, bowler, and capeline) on impression formation. The experimental materials developed for this study were a set of stimulus and response scales. The 7-point semantic differential response scales were designed. Thirty stimuli color pictures of various combination of hair length, hair style, and type of hat design were manipulated by computer drawing. The subjects were 360 undergraduates living in Seoul, Kyunggi and Kyungnam. The experimental design was composed of 3 factorial designs. The result of the study can be summarized as follows; Impression factor of the stimulus consisted of the 5 different dimensions (attractiveness, gracefulness, activity, concentration of attention, cuteness). Hair style greatly affected gracefulness. On the other hand, hair length made remarkable effects on attractiveness, concentration of attention, and cuteness. In addition, it has been found that the type of hat design significantly influenced on all the factors except attractiveness as independent variables. In regarding the effect of interaction between each variable, the combination of hair style and hair length had significant effects on gracefulness. In the impression formation of cuteness, the combination of hair length and type of hat design were more significant.

The statistical wisp model for hairstyle generation was introduced in [1]. It provided a program to load human models, set parameters, generate wisps and strands, and make constraints. However, the program used hard-coded human models and prescribed constraints so that it was hard to change different models and manipulate constraints. Hence we provide a simple interface by drawing maps and constraints. Also, we can increase the speed of computation by using GPU acceleration.

This study was carried out with a view to increasing the tensile strength of sand soil and examined the characteristics of the tensile strength of sand soil reinforced by hair fiber which is environmentally friendly. The study investigated the change of the tensile strength and the stress-strain relationship varying the length of hair fiber, the amount of hair fiber, the amount of cement, and curing days. The test results indicated that the tensile strength increased significantly with hair fiber mixed. In addition, the sand soil mixed with hair fiber had larger displacement at failure. Based on the test results, it is appeared that the environmentally friendly hair fiber could be utilized practically to increase the tensile strength of sand soil in the future.

The purpose of this study was to find out the hair style image about variations of hair design elements. The method of this study was quasi-experimentation. The twelve color photographs of manikins with various hair style were used as the stimulus. As measuring instrument, a likert scale composed of 35 items of five point adjectives was used. The sample consisted of 157 males and 140 females residing in the Busan area. The range of the age is from 20 to 55. The survey was conducted from August to September in 2007. The data were analyzed by factor analysis, frequency, crosstabs one-way analysis of variance, Duncan's test and t-test used SPSS Packages. The results of this study were as follows: 1. As a result of factor analysis, 8 factors - romantic, natural, elegant, simple, classic, casual, modem and mannish were found out as constructing factors of hairstyle image. 2. As a result of hair style image analysis about variations of hair-length, The short hair style was perceived in modern, mannish, casual, sophisticate, medurm-length style in classic and elegant, long hair style was perceived to be high in romantic and natural. 3. As a result of hair style image analysis about variations of hair design elements, The length of hair style was the most influential element in hair design and secondly important one was the wave of hair style. The color of hair style didn't critical effect on image of hair style.

This study aimed at the strength increase of the soft ground and analyzed the strength characteristics of clay soil reinforced with hair fiber which is environmentally friendly. The study varied the length of hair fiber, the amount of hair fiber, the amount of cement, and curing days to investigate both the compressive and tensile strengths and the stress-strain relationship of hair fiber mixed clay soils. The test results indicated that both the compressvie and tensile strengths increased with hair fiber mixed, especially in the tensile strength. In addition, the hair fiber mixed clay soil allowed larger displacement to failure. Based on the test results, it is thought that the environmentally friendly hair fiber could be utilized practically to increase the clay strength in the future.

This study is an attempt to analyze the changes and morphological analysis of the one length hair style of women in the Imperial Japanese colonial period, and the purpose of this study is to analyze the components of hair design such as shape, texture, and color based on the precedent and the book and to make possible various styles of one length hair style cut. From the results of this study, one length hair style showed the outline shape with no step height of cut length, natural hair texture and natural hair color in 1910s to 1920s. In the 1930s, the one length hair style showed a slight cut length step height and a slight discoloration using a diamond shape, a narrow wave of natural texture, hydrogen peroxide or oxygenated water. In the 1940s, one length hair style did not find any singularity to pursue brilliant beauty(美) in terms of form, texture, and color. This study may enable a deep and detailed follow up study on one length hair style, and will be a cornerstone for the development of basic data of hair beauty education and trend of new mode.

Mohair is widely used as an airtight material for filling the gap between a window frame and sash. The purpose of this study is to investigate infiltration rate and opening force of sliding windows according to the mohair installation conditions. Infiltration experimental apparatus was set up, and the experimental results were applied to windows to find a correlation between infiltration rates and opening forces. When 4 rows of mohair were installed, the infiltration rate increase became 27.1% per clearance length increase of 1 mm, and the infiltration rate decrease became 5.7% per shortened length increase of 0.1 mm. For 4 rows of mohair, the opening force decreased by 28.2% as the clearance increased by 1 mm, and it increased by 9.3% as the shortened length increased by 0.1 mm.
