Less Informative Region Extraction for Automatically Advertisement Insertion in Sports Image (스포츠 영상 내 자동적인 광고 삽입을 위한 저정보영역 추출)

  • Recently virtual advertising is located in an important area of interest in the TV market by convenience of application and reduction of cost. The methods of inserting a virtual advertising in broadcasting are Up-link that method insert the image through the production equipment of the broadcasting station and dispatch equipment and technical personnel in the shooting and Down-streaming that method insert a virtual image automatically in relay video using image processing technology. In recent years, the image processing technology is an important research area in the virtual advertising area for automatically insertion of advertising images. In this paper, we propose the method to extract less-informative region in sports video using image processing. The proposed method extracts less-Informative region through rectangle detection of Hough transform and analysis of color histogram distribution.

Additive Data Insertion into MP3 Bitstream Using linbits Characteristics (Linbits 특성을 이용하여 MP3 비트스트림에 부가적인 정보를 삽입하는 방법에 관한 연구)

  • As the use of MP3 audio compression increased, the demand for the insertion of additive data about copyright or information on music contents has been groved and the related research has been progressed actively. When an additive data is inserted into MP3 bitstream, it should not to happen any distortion of music quality or the change of file size, due to the modification of MP3 bitstream structure. In our study, to make these conditions satisfied, we inserted some additive data to bitstream by modifying some bits of linbits among the quantized integer coefficients having big values. At this time, we consider the characteristics of linbits and their distributions. As a result of subjective sound quality test through MOS test, we confirmed that the quality of MOS 4.6 can be achieved at the data insertion rate of 60 bytes/sec. Using the proposed method, it is possible to effectively insert an additive data such as copyright information or information about media itself, so that various applications like audio database management can be realized.

A High-performance Lane Recognition Algorithm Using Word Descriptors and A Selective Hough Transform Algorithm with Four-channel ROI (다중 ROI에서 영상 화질 표준화 및 선택적 허프 변환 알고리즘을 통한 고성능의 차선 인식 알고리즘)

  • The examples that used camera in the vehicle is increasing with the growth of the automotive market, and the importance of the image processing technique is expanding. In particular, the Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) and related technologies are under development in various fields. In this paper, in order to improve the lane recognition rate more than the conventional method, we extract a Normalized Luminance Descriptor value and a Normalized Contrast Descriptor value, and adjust image gamma values to modulate Normalized Image Quality by using the correlation between the extracted two values. Then, we apply the Hough transform using the optimized accumulator cells to the four-channel ROI. The proposed algorithm was verified in 27 frame/sec and 640×480 resolution. As a result, Lane recognition rate was higher than the average 97% in day, night, and late-night road environments. The proposed method also shows successful lane recognition in sections with curves or many lane boundary.

A New Efficient Detection Method in Lane Road Environment (도로 환경에 효율적인 새로운 차선 검출 방법)

  • In this paper, we propose a new real-time lane detection method that is efficient for road environment. Existing methods have a problem of low reliability under environmental changes. In order to overcome this problem, we emphasize the lane candidate area by using gray level division. And Extracts a straight line component near the lane by using the Hough transform, and generates an ROI for each straight line based on the extracted coordinates. And integrates the generated ROI images. Then, the lane is determined by dividing the object using the dual queue in the ROI image. The proposed method is able to detect lanes even in the environmental change unlike the conventional method. And It is possible to obtain an advantage that the area corresponding to the background such as sky, mountain, etc. is efficiently removed and high reliability is obtained.

  • For a variety of vision systems such as car omni-directional surveillance systems and robot vision systems, many cameras have been equipped and used. In order to detect corners of grid pattern in AVM(Around View Monitoring) systems, after the non-linear radial distortion image obtained from wide-angle camera is corrected, corners of grids of the distortion corrected image must be detected. Though there are transformations such as Sub-Pixel and Hough transformation as corner detection methods for AVM systems, it is difficult to achieve automatic detection by Sub-Pixel and accuracy by Hough transformation. Therefore, we showed that the automatic detection proposed in this paper, which detects corners accurately from the distortion corrected image could be applied for AVM systems, by designing and implementing it, and evaluating its performance.

Road Lane and Vehicle Distance Recognition using Real-time Analysis of Camera Images (카메라 영상의 실시간 분석에 의한 차선 및 차간 인식)

  • This paper propose the method to recognize the lanes and distance between cars in real-time which detects dangerous situations and helps safe driving in the actual road environment. First of all, it extracts the area of interest corresponding to roads and cars from the road image photographed by using the forward-looking camera. Through the hough transform for the area of interest, this study detects linear components and also selects the lane and conducts filtering by calculating probability. And through the shadow threshold analysis of the cars in front within the area of interest, it extracts the objects of cars in front and calculates the distance from cars in front. According to the result of applying the suggested technology to recognize the lane and distance between cars to the road situation for testing, it showed over 95% recognition rate; thus, it has been proved that it can respond to safe driving.

Detection of Gradual Scene Boundaries with Linear and Circular Moving Borders (선형 및 원형의 이동경계선을 가지는 점진적 장면경계 추출)

  • This paper proposes a detection method of wipes including horizontal wipes with linear moving borders, such as horizontal or vertical wipes, Barn Doors, and Iris Rounds with circular moving borders. The suggested method first obtains a difference image between two adjacent frames, and extracts lines and circles by applying Hough transformation to the extracted difference image. Then, we detect wipe transitions by employing an evaluation function that analyzes the number of moving trajectories of lines or circles, their moving direction and magnitude. To evaluate the performance of the suggested algorithm, experimental results show that the proposed method can effectively detect wipe transitions with linear and circular moving borders rather than some existing methods.

  • This paper proposed the multi characters detection algorithm using Color segmentation and the closing curve feature of LoG Operator in order to complement the demerit of the existing research which is weak in complexity of background, variety of light and disordered line and similarity of left and background color, etc. The proposed multi characters detection algorithm divided into three parts : The feature detection, characters format and characters detection Parts in order to be possible to apply to image of various feature. After preprocess that the new multi characters detection algorithm that proposed in this paper used wavelet, morphology, hough transform which is the synthesis logical model in order to raise detection rate by acquiring the non-perfection characters as well as the perfection characters with processing OR operation after processing each color area by AND operation sequentially. And the proposal algorithm is simulated with natural images which include natural character area regardless of size, resolution and slant and so on of image. And the proposal algorithm in this paper is confirmed to an excellent detection rate by compared with the conventional detection algorithm in same image.

  • We student tow image characteristics, the smoothness and the similarity, which give rise to local and global redundancy in image representation. The smoothness means that the gray level values within a given block vary gradually rather than abruptly. The similarity means that any patterns in an image repeat itself anywhere in the rest of the image. In this sense, we proposed a lossless medical image compression scheme which exploits both types of redundancy. The proposed method segments the image into variable size blocks and encodes them depending on characteristics of the blocks. The proposed compression schemes works better 10~40[%] than other compression scheme such as the Huffman, the arithmetic, the Lempel-Ziv, HINT(Hierachical Interpolation) and the lossless scheme of JPEG with one predictor.

  • Lane extraction and lane departure warning algorithms using the image sensor attached in the vehicle are addressed. With the research about intelligent automobile, there have been many algorithms about lane recognition and lane departure warning system. However, since these algorithms require to detect 2 lanes, the high time complexity and the low recognition rate under various driving circumstances are critical problems. In this paper, we present a lane departure warning algorithm using single lane extraction and center point analysis that achieves the fast processing time and high detection rate. From the geometry between camera and objects, the region of interest (ROI) is determined and splitted into two parts. Hough transform detects the part of the lane. After the detected lane is restored to have a pre-determined size, lane departure is estimated by calculating the distance from the center point. On real driving environments, the presented algorithm is compared with previous algorithms. Experiment results support that the presented algorithm is fast and accurate.
