The Relationship between Balanced Time Perspective and Subjective Well-Being of The Early-aged Adult and Late Middle-aged Adult: the Mediation Effects of Happiness Enhancing Activities (성인초기와 중년후기의 균형적 시간관과 주관적 안녕감과의 관계: 행복증진활동의 매개효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate mediating the effect of Happiness Enhancing Activities(HEA) on the relationship between Balanced Time Perspective(BTP) and Subjective Well-Being(SWB). For this study, total subjects were 372 which is composed of the early-aged adults 192 and late middle aged adults 180 from Busan and Gyeongsangnam-do in South Korea. They completed the survey which is included Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory(ZTPI), Korean Version of the Happiness-Enhancing Activities Questionnaire(K-HAQ) and Satisfaction with Life Scale(SWLS), Positive and Negative Affect Scale(PANAS). As a result of bootstrapping, BTP has a positive effect on SWB with the mediating effect of HEA and it comes out in the both subjects, early-aged adults and late middle-aged adults. To be specific, mediating effect of goal-focused activities and activities with family and friends in the relationship on BTP and SWB was significant for the early-aged. However only mediating effect of activities with friends in the relationship on BTP and SWB was significant for the middle-aged. This study is meaningful, it has turned up the effect of BTP on HEA in both subjects, early-aged adults and late middle-aged adults as well as found out the differences between generations of HEA.

The Relationships among Happiness, Happiness promotion activities and Self-reflection in the Convergence Society (융복합 사회에서 간호학과 학생의 행복감, 행복감 증진활동 및 자기성찰의 관계)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the relationship of happiness, happiness promoting activities and self-reflection. Need of happiness is as important as right of life and freedom in the convergence society and heating up according to appearance of positive psychology. Subjects were 366 nursing students. Data were collected Oct. 2-8(2014), and analyzed using t-test/ANOVA and correlation by SPSS. Self-reflection showed statistically significant differences according to grade, and experience of practice. Happiness and happiness promotion activities showed statistically significant difference according to economic state. Happiness promotion activities were positively correlated with self-reflection and happiness. The factors affecting happiness were happiness promotion, economic state, and self-reflection which accounted for 26.3%. Repeated research which include various variables of happiness and self-reflection is needed, and suggest qualitative research about happiness.

Validity of the Happiness-Enhancing Activities and Positive Practices Inventory(HAPPI) Scale in Physical Activities Participation in Korean Old Adults (신체활동참여 한국 노인을 위한 행복증진활동(HAPPI)척도의 구인타당도)

  • The purpose of this study is to assess construct validity and verify the concept of the Happiness-enhancing Activities and Positive Practices Inventory(HAPPI) developed by Henricksen & Stephens(2013), for Korean old adults who participating physical activities with measuring happiness-related propensity. In this study, the research model was confirmed by evidenced based on the content validity, EFA, construct validity of the latent structure analysis with CFA, reliability as internal consistency. Using self-reported questionnaire conducted among 370 participants who physical activities. Total of 344 data were selected. As a result, internal consistency α was acceptable. Evidence-based on convergent and discriminant of the CFA as GFI=.925, CFI .962, TLI .953, and RMSEA .062 appeared significantly. Model goodness-of-fit, C.R. ratio(Critical ratio: estimates/SE) and Squared Multiple Correlations(SMC), and average variance extracted(AVE) was verified with the hypothesis of the model. Therefore, HAPPI validity evidence for the model fit was confirmed. In conclusion, the HAPPI 4 factors and 16 items(Other-focused, Personal recreation and interests, Achievement, Self-Concordant Work, Spiritual and thought-related) has reliable evidence to apply for Korean old adults and applicable assessment of happiness.

  • 올해로 7년째를 맞이한 몽골 학생건강증진 지원사업은 몽골 보건부(MOH)의 국립보건국(DOH)과의 협약 아래, 우리나라 행정안전부의 민간단체 공익활동 지원을 토대로 진행되고 있다. 특히 올해는 몽골 흡수굴 아이막(우리나라의 도(道)) 이흐올 학교 학생의 건강검진, 생활환경 및 보건행태 조사, 건강캠페인을 실시하는 한편 전년도 사업 지역이었던 에르데넷의 지원 결과 모니터링 등을 위해 남서중 사무총장을 단장으로 9명의 사업단이 9월 25일부터 9박 10일간의 여정으로 떠났다.

Development and Evaluation of Home Economics Education Teaching-Learning Plans Using Happiness Education Program: Focused on the Unit of Understanding Families in a Middle School (중학교 가정과교육에서 행복교육을 적용한 교수·학습 과정안 개발 및 실행: '가족의 이해' 단원을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a home economics education curriculum by using the 'happiness education program' in order for students to improve a feeling of happiness and enhance positive relationships. This study focuses on the unit of 'understanding families' with middle school students. Based on the ADDIE model, 15 lesson plans were developed and implemented on four classes of middle schools in Chungbuk area from March 13 to July 7 in 2017. Findings show that feelings of happiness and interrelationship among others significantly improved and showed strong enhancement. Also, understandings the importance of close relationships and the value of family showed significant improvement. The teaching methods using happiness practice activities and group activities for the happiness education in the home economics classes were evaluated as effective by participants. This study has the significance and implications for further studies in a sense that it combines happiness education with home economics education curriculum.

Influence of Clinical Nurses' Personality and Resilience on Happiness Index (임상간호사의 인성, 회복탄력성이 행복지수에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to identify correlations in clinical nurses' personality, resilience and happiness index to provide basic resources for nurses' happiness at work. Methods: From May 1 to 15, 2019, self-report questionnaires were distributed and collected from 307 of clinical nurses in 10 hospitals located in P-metropolitan city and K-province. Analyses included descriptive statistics, t-test, Analysis of Variance, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression, conducted using IBM SPSS/WIN 24.0. Mean scores were nurses' personality 3.67, resilience 3.28, and happiness index 3.28. There were significant differences on the happiness index for: clinical experience, type of work, and leisure activities and a positive correlation between personality and resilience, between personality and happiness index and between happiness index and resilience. Happiness index was influenced by clinical experience 'Less than 1-5' (${\beta}=-.41$), '${\geq}10$' ${\beta}=-.39$), 'Less than 5-10' (${\beta}=-.34$), resilience (${\beta}=.35$), personality (${\beta}=.29$), type of work '3 shifts' (${\beta}=.12$), leisure activities (${\beta}=.10$). Explanatory power of these variables was 41%. Conclusion: Based on the findings of this study, so it is necessary to operated the career management, work management, personality training, support for resilience promotion program and leisure activities in order to increase the happiness index of hospital nurses.

Development of an Orff Musical Activity Intervention Program based on Interpersonal Care for Children from Multicultural Families (다문화가정 아동을 위한 대인 돌봄 기반의 오르프 음악 활동 프로그램 개발)

  • This study aims to develop an Orff musical activity program based on interpersonal care for children from multicultural families in South Korea. The Orff music activity program based on interpersonal care consists of a program that can control ego-resilience, peer relationships, happiness, anxiety, and stress, and was developed based on the Analysis, Design, Development, and Implementation (ADDI) model. As a result, a ten-session program was developed based on the expressive area of care, theme, goal, interpersonal care technique, Orff technique. The research results of the developed program show that interpersonal care nursing can be effective for children from multicultural families, and this program can be used as an intervention to improve children's mental health.

A Study on the Mediating Effect of Self-esteem on the Relationship between Economic Status and Happiness among the Elderly (노인의 경제상태가 행복에 미치는 영향: 자아존중감의 매개효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of self-esteem on the relationship between economic status and happiness among the elderly. The subjects of this study were 641 people over 65 years old around 4 metropolitan area. Structural Equation Modeling in AMOS 18.0 was adopted to examine measurement model and mediating effects of self-esteem by using Bootstrapping method. The results were as followings. First, subjects who had higher education, higher income, married, religion, higher marital satisfaction, no chronic disease, voluntary work participation showed more higher happiness. Second, the analysis resulted confined the full mediation effects of self-esteem in the relations between the economic status and happiness of the elderly. Based on these findings suggested that social work intervention service should be discussed to increase the level of self-esteem for the happiness among the elderly.

Perception of Young Children Happiness (유아 행복에 대한 인식)

  • The purpose for this study is to research the perception of happiness among the kindergarten young children. The subjects were kindergarten young children of 6, 7 years old in Kwangju. The finding of this study were as follows : 1. kindergarten young children of 6, 7 years old considered that the most important elements of happiness to have a positive mind, to be loved. And kindergarten young children of 7 years old perceived spend time with family as happiness. 2. 'the most moment when you feel happy" perceived that the most important elements of happiness were to be loved, play with children and to spend time with children. 3. 'To be happy' perceived that the most important elements of happiness were the relationship of parents and friends. Especially, seven years old children perceived to be able to do self-development. Therefore, I suggested it is necessary to study a program of young children's happiness, a program of parent's participation for young children's happiness in kindergarten, and a program of young children' career education.

A Preliminary Study on the Wellness-Enhancing Effect of an App for the Development of the Self-Life Coaching App (셀프 라이프코칭 앱(App) 개발을 위한 앱의 웰니스 증진 효과에 대한 예비 연구)

  • Considering the necessity for individuals to check and manage their wellness to promote happiness, this study conducted preliminary research on the effect of wellness enhancement of the self-life coaching app. Thirty-six participants were randomly assigned to experimental groups 1 and 2 and a control group, respectively. In particular, the experimental groups were asked to perform self-life coaching for 4 weeks using a research app. Weekly feedback was provided to experimental group 1, but not to experimental group 2. The wellness index for workers (WIW) and the Korean wellness scale (KWS) were used as dependent variables. The analysis results of interaction effects between pre-, post-, and follow-up time points and groups reveal no statistically significant effects in both dependent variables, but the tendency of the effects was confirmed. Moreover, no difference was determined in terms of the presence or absence of weekly feedback in the experimental treatment effect. As a result of repeated measures variance analysis on KWS measured at five times, the wellness enhancement effect over time was statistically significant. Meanwhile, the polynomial trend analysis result confirmed the linear effect of the experimental treatment on wellness. The participation opinion survey also revealed that 84.2% of the participants perceived the activity to be helpful, and 78.9% responded that they would use it once every 1 or 2 weeks if the app is commercially available. This study is meaningful in that it suggests a methodology for utilizing the self-life coaching app so that anyone can use it to promote their wellness and partially confirms the effectiveness of this method.
