A Study on the Efficient Multiplication with All m$\times$k Boolean Matrices (모든 m$\times$k 불리언 행렬과의 효율적 곱셈에 관한 연구)

  • Boolean matrices are applied to a variety of areas and used successfully in many applications, and there are many researches on boolean matrices. Most researches deal with the multiplication of boolean matrices, but all of them focus on the multiplication of two boolean matrices and very few researches deal with the multiplication between many n$\times$m boolean matrices and all m$\times$k boolean matrices. The paper discusses the existing optimal algorithms for the multiplication of two boolean matrices are not suitable for the multiplication between a n$\times$m boolean matrix and all m$\times$k boolean matrices, establishes a theory that enables the efficient multiplication of a n$\times$m boolean matrix and all m$\times$k boolean matrices, and shows the execution results of a multiplication algorithm designed with this theory.

Application of Multi-Server Queuing Theory to Estimate Vehicle Travel Times at Freeway Electronic Toll-Collection Systems (고속도로 자동요금징수시스템의 차량 통행시간 산정을 위한 다중서비스 대기행렬이론 연구)

  • This paper presents the investigation results of a research on how engineers can analyze the economic effect of the ETCS(Electronic Toll Collection System) installed to minimize the vehicle delays on freeway tollgates during toll payments. This research considered this economic effect to occur in the form of vehicle passing time reductions at the ETCS, and the multi-service queuing theory was applied to estimate these values. This research found: 1) When vehicles approaching tollgates show Poisson distribution and the service time of the ETCS shows Exponential distribution, the multi-service queuing theory would be applicable for estimating vehicle passing times at toll-gates, 2) Despite the ETCS placement, exit sections of tollgates give a greater reduction of vehicle passing times than entering sections due to more delays at conventional toll payments, and 3)The ETCS would not guarantee vehicle passing time reductions all the time, because in such a case as many vehicles were queuing at the ETCS, the total delay level for a toll gate would increase greatly. In addition, in order to examine the accuracy of the estimated vehicle passing values, this research compared the values from the multi-service queuing theory with the observed values from a set of field survey values at freeway toll-gates, and found that the two values were in a good agreement with a very low error range of 1-3 seconds per vehicle. Based on this result, the multi-service queuing theory was recommended for practice.

An Estimation of Appropriate Standby Space for Mechanical Parking Lot by Prediction of Parking Queue (주차대기행렬 예측을 통한 기계식 주차장 적정 대기규모 산정에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to present the appropriate standby space for the mechanical parking lot considered parking queue. This analysis is based on the field-study by results of the influential factors on the parking queue of mechanical parking lots in the commercial area of Gwang-ju metropolitan city. In this study, the parking queue was analized through the simple modeling using Vissim based on average service rate and average arrival rate from the result of field-study. As a result of applying the field survey products to the theoretical queue model, no significant result was obtained when the traffic intensity exceeded 1. Therefore, parking queue was analyzed through simple modeling using Vissim, and the model for calculating the proper parking queue size of the mechanical parking lot by size was derived. The model for estimating of an appropriate mechanical parking standby space considering parking queue presented in this study is expected to be a criterion for considering the appropriate parking space of a new building, and also it can be used to minimized the traffic impact due to the parking queue by the lack of standby space.

A Study on Left-turn Queues Analysis using Queueing Theory under Permissive Left-turn Signal System (비보호좌회전 신호체계운영에 따른 좌회전 대기행렬분석에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, the optimal length of left-turn lane in permissive left-turn signal system at the signalized intersection which has a left-turn bay is estimated. It is a simulation analysis using the queueing theory that estimate the length of left-turn lane. Traffic density conform to the standards of operating a permissive left-turn system of the Practical Manual Traffic Safety Facilities. And each of a left-turn arrival rate, a left-turn service rate, left-turn average queueing time, for green time average queueing vehicle, for red time average queueing vehicle and average queueing vehicle cycle is calculated. As a result of this study, we would learn how much the space should be secured at the signalized intersection which has a left-turn bay. The methodology using the queueing theory to work out the optimal length of waiting lane in the permissive left-turn signal system was presented.

  • The state-of-art of curved box girder bridge with cross section design has advanced in various area. In these days, several analytical techniques for behaviors of curved box girder bridges cross section are available to engineers. The transfer matrix method is extensively used for the structural analysis because its merit in the theoretical background and applicability. The technique is attractive for implementation on a numerical solution by means of a computer program coded in Fortran language with a few elements. To demonstrate this fact, it gives good results which compare well with finite element method. Therefore, this paper proposed the static analysis method of curved box bridge with cross section by transfer matrix method based on pure-torsional theory and the optimal span ratio/variable cross section ratio of 3 span continuous curved box girder bridge.

A VLSI Architecture for the Binary Jacket Sequence (이진 자켓 비트열의 VLSI 구조)

  • The jacket matrix is based on the Walsh-Hadamard matrix and an extension of it. While elements of the Walsh-Hadamard matrix are +1, or -1, those of the Jacket matrix are ${\pm}$1 and ${\pm}$$\omega$, which is $\omega$, which is ${\pm}$j and ${\pm}$2$\sub$n/. This matrix has weights in the center part of the matrix and its size is 1/4 of Hadamard matrix, and it has also two parts, sigh and weight. In this paper, instead of the conventional Jacket matrix where the weight is imposed by force, a simple Jacket sequence generation method is proposed. The Jacket sequence is generated by AND and Exclusive-OR operations between the binary indices bits of row and those of column. The weight is imposed on the element by when the product of each Exclusive-OR operations of significant upper two binary index bits of a row and column is 1. Each part of the Jacket matrix can be represented by jacket sequence using row and column binary index bits. Using Distributed Arithmetic (DA), we present a VLSI architecture of the Fast Jacket transform is presented. The Jacket matrix is able to be applied to cryptography, the information theory and complex spreading jacket QPSK modulation for WCDMA.

Karmarkar법의 속도 제고에 관한 연구

  • 본 연구에서는 Karmarkar법의 변형인 Todd&Burrell 알고리즘을 분석하고 이 알고리즘의 수행속도를 증가시키기 위한 몇가지 방안을 제시하였다. 또한, 몇가지 실험을 통하여 제안된 방안들을 비교 분석하였다. 사영행렬의 계산에 QR 분해법과 Cholesky 분해법을 도입함으로써 계산 시간을 줄일 수 있었고, 구내최적화를 위한 개선폭의 결정에 비율검정법과 선형탐색법을 사용함으로써 수행횟수 및 총 수행시간을 줄일 수 있었다. 수행실험을 통하여 알고리즘을 분석한 결과, 수행시간의 대부분을 사영행렬의 계산이 차지하는 것으로 나타나 이론적으로 계산복잡도를 분석한 결과와 일치하였다. 또한, 사영행렬과 개선폭의 결정에 사용된 각 방법들을 실험을 통해 비교 분석한 바로는 사영행렬의 계산에 있어서 Cholesky 분해법이 Gauss소거법이나 QR 분해법을 쓰는 경우보다 우수했으며, 개선폭을 결정하는 데 있어서는 비율검정법이 속도면에서 가장 우수했다.

  • 이 논문에서는 회전과 줌을 하는 카메라의 내부변수를 3차원 패턴 없이 주어진 영상만을 이용하여 구하는 방법을 제안한다. 먼저, 카메라의 skew를 0으로 가정하면 카메라의 내부변수가 매 영상취득 시점마다 바뀌어도 그 값들을 구할 수 있다는 것을 이론적으로 보인다. 이때 구해지는 회전 행렬을 기준 좌표계를 설정하는데 따라 달라질 뿐이다. 카메라 보정은 획득되어진 영상 사이의 투영변환행렬을 분석하여 얻어지며, 이는 회전하는 카메라에서 얻어진 두 영상 사이에는 투영변환행렬이 존재한다는 것을 이용한 것이다. 가장 일반적인 경우, 즉 카메라의 skew를 0으로 가정하면, 카메라 내부변수를 계산하기 위하여 모두 네 개의 투영변환행렬이 필요하며, 가장 단순한 카메라 모델의 경우 principal point와 aspect ratio 가 변화하지 않으면 단지 한 개의 투영거리변환이 필요하다. 합성 데이터와 실제 영상 데이터를 이용하여 제안하는 알고리듬을 시험하였다.

  • We give a mathematical approach using Linear Algebra, especially largest eigenvalue and eigenvector on decision making support system. We find a mathematical modeling on decision making problem which could be solved by AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) method. Especially, we give a new approach to change evaluation indicator weight on assessing research proposals.

  • It is essential in modern industry that quality and procuctivity are improved continuously. To accomplish this purpose, quality control must be maintained in all parts of a company. Recently, some tire manufacture companies are beginning to show interest in quality control. They have tried to achive some results through the statistical analysis for the experimental data which has accumulated up to now and then they strive to determine the structural relationship between the design factors in tire construction and tire performance characteristics. The measurement data obtained from the construction engineering is given in multivariate form owing to the various properties found in tire design components as wll as in performance. Also it may be existed the relationship among the multimple response variables. Thus we proposes the use of the biplot graphical display as an analytic tool of data matrices with complex respects. The proposed biplots are also availalbe to understand both the underlying structure of the data and the roles played by the different components. In particular, we consider the matter of how best to use the biplots in the maltivariate analysis of variance and multiple response data. Finally we apply this method to analyze the actual data.
