세계 물류시장은 지속적으로 성장하고 있으며, 글로벌 해운·물류기업은 M&A를 통해 시장지배력 및 글로벌 네트워크를 확장하고 있다. 한편 우리나라는 물류산업에서의 글로벌 선도기업 부재, 물류 네트워크 열악 등으로 인해 고품질 SCM 서비스 지원이 불가능한 상황이다. 따라서 해운·물류기업의 해외진출 확대 및 국제 경쟁력 강화를 위해 M&A 관련 연구가 활발하게 진행되어야 한다. 이에 본 연구는 M&A 성공 및 확대를 위한 M&A 효과분석 연구를 실시하고자 한다.

To study the business performance, this research reviewed the revenue of 2012 for shipping and logistics companies in Korea, then selected 10 shipping companies and 10 logistics companies according to annual sales amount. These 20 companies are divided into four groups considering their business structure and their financial performance are organized from 2005 to 2012. Then CCR, BCC model has been applied to static efficiency and dynamic changes in productivity for analysis. As an overall result, logistics companies are proven to be better than shipping company in efficiency, change of productivity, growth and profitability. Among the logistics companies, the performance of second party logistics companies are relatively better in those factor above than the third party logistics companies.

우리나라 해운 항만 물류기업의 국제물류 서비스 향상 및 글로벌 경쟁력 강화를 위한 방안 가운데 하나는 해외 현지 물류네크워크 구축이며 이를 통해 고객이 원하는 물류서비스 제공 및 글로벌 시장 내 경쟁력 확보 차원에서 필수적이다. 그러나 아직까지 필리핀 물류시장에 대한 우리나라의 해운 항만 물류기업 진출 및 투자 지원에 관한 체계적인 연구는 미흡한 실정이다. 따라서 인도에 진출하는 우리나라 화주기업 및 물류기업의 물류 애로사항 해소 지원, 해운 물류기업의 경쟁력 강화 등 정부차원의 다양한 정책과 지원 사업에 관한 연구가 필요하다. 이에 본 연구는 필리핀 항만물류시장의 현황을 분석한 후 향후 우리나라 해운 항만 물류기업들이 물류 네트워크 구축 방안을 수립하는데 있어 투자대상 시설 및 투자 유망지역 등 다양한 정보를 제공하는데 그 목적이 있다. 필리핀 물류시장을 면밀히 파악하는 것뿐만 아니라 필리핀 경제, 인프라 현황, 기업 분포 등 다양한 지표 분석을 통해 물류서비스 경쟁력 제고에 기여할 수 있는 투자 유망지역을 제시하였다.

우리나라 해운산업은 21세기 국가성장 엔진으로서 그 역할을 다하기 위해서는 해운기업에 대한 세제지원정책의 지속적인 시행과 선원문제를 포함한 해운인력의 안정적 확보방안이 시급히 마련되어야 할 것으로 지적되었다. 또 선화주간 실질적인 협력관계가 구축과 다양한 사업분야에서 우리의 해운기업이 세계해운시장을 주도할 수 있는 능력을 배양할 수 있도록 자율적인 경영체제 확립이 필요한 것으로 분석되었다. 다음은 해운물류산업 발전을 위한 공동워크숍 주제발표 내용을 간추린 것이다.

This paper analyzes comparatively business performance indicators and determinants of small and medium sized shipping logistics companies in Korea, using 2015 economic census data. For this purpose, this study estimates various business performance indicators according to 2015 small and medium sized companies classification standards, including operating income to sales and gross value-added to sales. In addition, this study analyzes determinants of business performance using generalized least squares models. The results indicate that average sales, operating income and value-added, sales and operating income per worker, operating income to sales, and material cost to sales of large sized companies are higher than those of small and medium sized companies. The business performance indicators differ by industry and size. Moreover, the determinants of business performance are analyzed in terms of the unemployment rate (-), number of employees (-), sales (+), labor cost ratio (+), and labor cost per employee (-) and the impacts of the individual explanatory variables based on elasticity are different. Finally, this quantitative information could be used to improve the business performance of domestic shipping logistics companies.

물류 서비스는 경제 주체간의 원활한 상품 수송을 도모하여 구매 소비를 뒷받침하는 효율적 경제 및 시장의 필수조건이다. 한국의 물류산업의 경쟁력은 선진국에 비해 낮아 국내 물류활동 현황을 살펴보고 선진국의 물류 효율화 전략을 점검하여 물류 효율화 방안을 모색하여야 한다. 한국의 국가물류비와 기업물류비는 선진국에 비해 높은 수준이나, 비금속 등 일부 제조업의 기업물류비가 과도하게 높은 것으로 분석된다. 국내 물류산업의 문제점을 살펴보면 수요 측면에서는 2PL 의존도가 높은 것이 문제가 된다. 그룹 소속의 2PL 업체로 인해 물류 비효율이 발생하고 물류업계의 대형화, 전문화 실현에 어려움을 야기하고 있다. 공급측면에서는 물류전문기업이 부족하다. 영세기업 저부가가치 사업 위주의 산업구조로 인해 물류전문기업이 부족하여 물류 효율화 효과가 미미하다. 또한, 인프라 측면에서도 국내 물류 인프라가 미비한 현실이다. 높은 도로의존도로 과중한 수송비 부담 및 낮은 물류분야 표준화 수준으로 물류 효율저하가 우려된다. 한편 법제도 측면에서도 물류산업 관련 제도 개선이 미흡하다. 물류산업 관련 제도가 현장을 반영하지 못하고 있으며, 정부기업의 민간 참여 등의 불공정 물류 정책으로 국내 물류산업의 발전이 제한적이다. 다음은 현대경제연구원 이장균 수석연구위원이 발표한 "국내 물류산업의 문제점과 물류효율화 방안"의 주요 내용을 요약 정리한 것이다.

Nowadays, there is increasing demand for a training program to transfer advanced knowledge of shipping and port logistics with the investments in overseas shipping and port market. A current training program in the field of shipping and port logistics has a short-term achievement, but domestic logistics companies do not utilize the training program to penetrate into the overseas market. Therefore, this paper investigates domestics logistics companies' overseas business activities, and current operation and problems of a training program. In addition, this paper presents how to utilize a training program for domestics shipping and port logistics companies to penetrate successfully into the overseas market.

The quick spread of smartphones has affected not only individual life but also the way companies conduct their businesses. Employees is their business work using a variety of mobile devices including smartphones and are in constant collaboration with one another by sharing corporate information. Accordingly, constant an increasing number of businesses have adopted mobile applications for work, especially in the field of maritime logistics, where maritime logistics mobile applications are utilized to track cargos and to provide visibility. Through surveys, this study did empirical analyses to find out the intention to use maritime logistics mobile applications of maritime logistics workers, and the find out factors affecting their actual use of mobile applications developed and used in the domestic maritime logistics industry. As for study variables, social influence, innovation, perceived value, and collaboration between companies were used as factors that affect the intention to use mobile applications. In addition, as a tool for measuring the actual use of mobile applications, which is necessary for figuring out the relationship between the intention to use them and their actual use, the connecting frequency and using time were used. A total of 168 surveys were used in the hypothesis test. The results of the analyses are as follow: First, the three variables of social influence, innovation, and perceived value positively affected the intention to use maritime logistics mobile applications. However, collaboration between companies did not affect the intention to use the applications. Second, the intention to use the mobile applications positively affected the actual use.

일반적으로 국내 기업의 매출액 대비 물류비 비율은 미국, 일본 등 선진국에 비해 높기 때문에 여전히 물류관리 수준 향상을 위한 많은 노력이 필요한 상황이다. 그러나 우리나라는 물류관리 수준 향상을 위해서 가장 중요한 요소인 해운항만물류인력이 부족한 상황이며 수급현황을 살펴볼 때 더욱 부족해질 전망이다. 그래서 정부는 2005년부터 '해운항만물류전문인력 양성사업'을 시행하고 있는 상황이며, 인력양성의 주축인 대학 역시 관련 학과를 개설하며 해운항만물류인력의 부족 현상은 점차 완화될 것으로 기대된다. 이러한 상황에서 해운항만물류인력 양성의 구조적 측면을 살펴봄으로써 지금까지의 양성 현황에 대해 살펴보고 앞으로의 양성 방향에 관해 연구해 볼 필요성에 따라 본 연구를 진행하였다.
