But the development into the sea, for a lack of systematic database on the marine total information network for a foundation information and research infra construction. This marine total information network will be not contribute to an advance of domestic marine industry through information's common ownership but also international competitiveness strength.

A Study on Quality Cost Management in Korean Shipping Company (우리나라 해운기업의 품질코스트 관리와 활용방안)

  • Quality costs seem to be one of the effective tools to assess quality management activities, but shipping industries have not controlled quality costs because of difficulty in cost itemization and cost data collection. This study has attempted to itemize shipping quality costs in detail and researches the composition of actual quality costs of sampled shipping companies in Korea. Result of research shows that stopping quality costs were composited by 24.3%, 3.8% and 71.8% of prevention costs, appraisal costs and failure costs, respectively and very high relationship between total qualify cost and other quality costs. This research also recommended practical methods for quality management by using indexes of quality costs.

  • 고유가 시대에 접어들면서 해양석유 가스 산업에 대한 관심이 그 어느 때보다 뜨겁다. 해양석유 가스 시추를 위한 지출은 2011년 650억 달러 규모에서 2020년에는 1,250억 달러로 2배 늘어날 것으로 전망되고 있다. 이러한 해양석유 가스 개발 확대로 해양플랜트 시장은 2010~2015년 최소 4,970억 달러로 전망되고 있다. 이와 더불어 해양작업지원선(OSV) 시장 역시 향후 수요가 지속적으로 늘어날 것으로 전망된다. 이렇게 해양 석유가스 및 연관 산업이 지속적으로 성장할 것으로 전망되면서 브라질, 나이지리아, 앙골라 등 중남미, 아프리카 등 신흥 시장이 각광을 받고 있다. 그리고 글로벌 석유기업(IOC)을 비롯한 관련 업체들이 이 지역에서 탐사 및 개발(E&P)를 통해 시장진출을 위해 경쟁하고 있다. 이에 대해 신흥 국가들은 자국 내 석유가스 산업의 경쟁력을 제고 시키기 위한 일종의 보호조치로서 '로컬 콘텐츠' 정책을 실시하고 있다. 다음은 한국해양수산개발원에서 발표한 "오프쇼어(Offshore)산업 로컬 콘텐츠 정책의 현대적 의의"의 주요 내용을 요약 정리한 것이다.

  • 일반적으로 사람은 육체적, 정신적 그리고 심리적 자극에 반응할 경우 스트레스(Stress)가 유발된다. 이 스트레스는 정상적인 업무수행 뿐만 아니라 건강에 악영향을 미칠 수 있고, 피로누적의 한 원인이 되기 한다. 특히 열악한 환경에서 직무를 수행하는 선원에게 있어서 스트레스는 해양사고의 직간접적인 요인이 될 수 있기 때문에 선박 인적자원관리의 한 측면으로 중요하게 다루어질 필요가 있다. 이 연구는 해운기업이 선원의 인사 및 안전관리 시스템에 활용할 수 있는 선원용 스트레스 평가도구를 개발하기 위한 것으로, 기본영역, 가족생활영역, 재정영역, 직업 및 선박생활영역에 대하여 90개의 항목으로 구성된 설문도구를 개발하여 설문조사를 수행하였고, Holmes & Rahe의 사회적응평가도구의 항목 및 평가지수와 비교분석하여 한국 선원의 문화적 차이를 고려한 설문도구를 개발하기 위한 기초적 연구를 수행하였다.

Empirical Study on the Induction Effect of Safety Quality Management System for the Shipping Company (해운기업의 안전품질경영체제 도입 성과 실증연구)

  • This document analyses the empirical study result of the safety quality management system(SQMS) induction. This analysis is composed as the following. First of all, we take a brief look at (he present Korean situations after the SQMS induction. Next, we analyse the effect of the SQMS induction, then we indicate the conclusion, suggestion, limits and future course of this study. We divided the effect of induction in 21 factors. The result was 3.5 out of 5 perfect Points, which shows the high preference. Higher points were scored with international companies than domestic ones, the companies accepted before 1998 than the ones after 1998, and large enterprises than smaller ones.

  • 선박은 해운시장에서 가장 중요한 자산이다. 이러한 선박투자에는 대규모 자본조달이 필요하며 시황 및 경기분석을 통해 고점투자를 방지하고 조달비용을 절감하는 것이 중요하며 이러한 결정이 투자 성패를 좌우한다. 본 논문은 K평균 군집화분석을 이용하여 그리스 선주와 한국 선주의 선박투자행태를 분류하고자 한다. 분석의 결과로 선박투자의 주요 요인들을 식별하여 기업차원의 선박투자의 벤티마크 투자전략을 수립하는데 기여하고자 하며 정책적 차원에서 선박투자에 필요한 전략에 대한 시사점을 도출하고자 한다.

Forecasting Bunker Price Using System Dynamics (시스템 다이내믹스를 활용한 선박 연료유 가격 예측)

  • The purpose of this study is to utilize the system dynamics to carry out a medium and long-term forecasting analysis of the bunker price. In order to secure accurate bunker price forecast, a quantitative analysis was established based on the casual loop diagram between various variables that affects bunker price. Based on various configuration variables such as crude oil price which affects crude oil consumption & production, GDP and exchange rate which influences economic changes and freight rate which is decided by supply and demand in shipping and logistic market were used in accordance with System Dynamics to forecast bunker price and then objectivity was verified through MAPEs. Based on the result of this study, bunker price is expected to rise until 2029 compared to 2016 but it will not be near the surge sighted in 2012. This study holds value in two ways. First, it supports shipping companies to efficiently manage its fleet, offering comprehensive bunker price risk management by presenting structural relationship between various variables affecting bunker price. Second, rational result derived from bunker price forecast by utilizing dynamic casual loop between various variables.

A Comparison Study between Korean and Foreign Shipping Liners on Logistics Service Attributes and Capability (국적선사와 외국적선사의 물류서비스 속성과 역량에 관한 비교 연구)

  • In order to obtain and maintain competitive advantage, under rapidly changing maritime environment, liners should make efforts to reinforce their logistics service capabilities. Most of all, for this, shipping lines should accurately recognize and evaluate their logistics service attributes. In the present research, various logistics service attributes for ocean carriers were selected from previous studies and the observed data for 6 main service attributes were collected through a questionnaire survey to 31 maritime experts. Moreover, shipping lines' relative logistics service capabilities were measured by an additional survey process. The comparative gravity between core evaluation factors were measured by AHP technique and the relative capability levels of 2 Korean liners and 5 foreign shipping companies were assessed by utilizing a fuzzy model. The empirical result presents that Korean liners are superior at customer service capability but inferior at freight rate competitiveness. This research shows that Korean liners are ranked at high position for overall logistics service capabilities and focusing on the differentiation strategy but not on the cost related strategy.

  • This paper firstly aims to classifying the applicability of the Balanced Scorecard approach to Korean ocean-going shipping firms' management system. The applicability of this approach is from Korean shipping firms using Balanced Scorecard will create more effective and efficient organizational performance with reflecting non-financial indexes and making a balance among missions in organization. Secondly, the paper suggests positive information and theoretical evidences to improve Korean shipping firms' management system examines an availability of the Balanced Scorecard as one method of management tools. So these factors are analysed by structural equation model. This study provides CEO in Korean ocean-going shipping firm the guideline and availability of the Balanced Scorecard as to what kinds of factors should be considered and what is the most critical factor to adopt the BSC into their business.
