The Study of Comparison Model, when Korean and German Insurance Company go into foreign Market - a case of german Legal Expenses Insurance Company - (한국 및 독일 보험회사의 해외 진출 모델 비교 연구 -독일 법률비용보험회사의 사례를 중심으로-)

  • 본 논문은 한국 및 독일 보험회사의 해외 진출 모델을 비교 연구한다. 특히, 독일 법률비용보험회사의 한국 진출 사례를 분석하여 국내 보험회사의 해외진출에 주는 시사점을 제시한다. 연구방법론으로서 한국 및 독일 보험회사의 해외 진출사례를 수집하여 비교 분석한다. 이를 위하여 각 보험회사의 해외진출 담당자와 면담, 이메일(e-mail), 전화상담 방법을 사용한다. 그리고 문헌연구를 통하여 연구의 이론적 배경과 기존의 연구결과를 분석한다. 본 연구에서는 보험회사 해외진출의 이론적인 배경으로서 고객지향 현지화전략, 수익지향전략, 신규특화시장 개척전략, 성장시장 진출전략 4개 요인으로 구분한다. 국내 보험회사는 해외 성장시장 진출 측면에서 긍정적인 반면에 수익지향, 현지화전략과 해외 신규 특화시장 개척 부분에서 아직 개선될 부분이 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 독일 보험회사는 한국 시장에 진출하면서 철저한 현지화전략, 특화시장 개척, 성장시장에 진출의 3개 부분에서 모두 긍정적인 것으로 분석되었다. 보험회사 해외진출의 이론적 배경 4개 요인을 적용하여 비교 분석한 결과 독일 보험회사의 사례와 같이 한국 보험회사가 해외에 진출할 경우에 보다 철저한 현지화 전략과 특화시장 개척 전략이 필요하다는 점을 제시한다. 본 연구의 한계점은 독일 법률비용보험회사 1개사를 대상으로 하고 있다는 점이며, 진출 초기라서 아직 경영실적이 뒷받침되지 않고 있다는 점이다. 향후 연구과제로서 일정시점이 지난 후에 국내 보험시장에서 독일 법률비용보험회사의 발전추이를 분석하여 시사점을 분석하고 법률보험시장에서 도덕적 위태 방지 연구, 소비자 보호를 강화할 수 있는 방안 연구를 향후 연구과제로 제시한다.

A Study on Trend of Overseas Expansion Strategy Research (기업의 해외 진출 전략 연구 동향)

  • Advances in technology are bringing a lot of change.. Due to Korea's economic growth, domestic companies are expanding overseas unlike in the past.. Recently, many small and medium-sized companies, in addition to large companies, are making inroads in Southeast Asian markets thanks to the Korean Wave. This study used the international academic database scopus to identify trends in the company's overseas expansion strategy. A search was conducted under the title of the word overseas advancement strategy, which secured a total of 153 papers. Abstracts of the research paper were refined for analysis and then analyzed using KoNLP package. As a result, 10 important keywords were derived. The purpose of this study is to identify the research trends of companies in overseas market through these results. This study provides a guideline for future research on overseas expansion strategies.

A Study on Strategic Approach to Expand Korean e-Government Export (한국 전자정부 해외진출 확대를 위한 전략적 접근방향에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest strategic approach to expand Korean e-government export. Korean e-government was evaluated as a top level by UN electronic government survey 2014. However its export is very limited. This study reviews the literature related to e-government, and analyze existing Korean e-government export. The results of this analysis are as follows: lack of a law related e-government export, decentralized organizations, insufficient export process, lack of e-government solution for sale, limited funds, deficiency of cooperation between large and small enterprises. This study suggests a strategic approach such as to clarify the purpose of e-government export, to decide government or civilian-oriented export, to establish driving strategy, to improve and develop e-government export related areas. There are many ways for improvement and development of e-government export as follows: to enact a basic law or to revise the e-government law, to integrate functions of separated organizations and establish control tower, to improve export process, to build information sharing system, to develop standardized solution module, and to expand fund to support. The author expects that this paper will contribute to enhance Korean e-government export.

A Study of the Overseas Entry Strategies of Freight Forwarders (국제물류주선업의 해외진출 전략에 관한 연구)

  • This study proposes effective overseas market entry strategies that could allow Korean logistics companies to develop international capabilities and become global firms by adapting to environmental changes in global logistics. First, it reviews the overseas networks of Korean international freight forwarders and the recent trends in the global logistics market. Then, it surveys the conditions of two groups of freight forwarders, namely partnerships and subsidiaries, which are categorized according to type of entry into foreign markets. These companies' networks are concentrated in East and Southeast Asia regardless of network type. As a result, the ability for partnerships to network is higher than that of subsidiaries. However, subsidiaries are small in number and located in various regions because of their initial stage, which is why their businesses depend on the price competitiveness of the parent company. The satisfaction and performance of subsidiaries are both generally low according to the presented findings. In addition, the successful strategies of international freight forwarders include following operations, specializing their logistics services, building collaborations among small and medium-sized companies, recruiting and training professional human resources in international logistics, and entering markets together with their customers. Overall, this study highlights the importance of measuring and evaluating objectively the level and performance of overseas networking through a survey about the internationalization of Korean freight forwarder companies. To conclude, this study is considered to contribute to raising their global competitiveness by suggesting strategies derived from the survey findings and SWOT analysis.

A Compartive Study on the Overseas Business Activity of Insurance Companies in Korea and Germany - a Case of German Legal Expenses Insurance Company - (한국 및 독일 보험회사의 해외 진출 모델 비교 연구 -독일 법률비용보험회사의 사례를 중심으로-)

  • This paper attempts to find out implications based on the comparative analysis of overseas expansion model between the Korean insurance companies and the German one. There are three types of the strategies of the overseas-expansion-model of insurer, i.e. customer-oriented localized strategy, niche market-oriented strategy, and growing market-oriented strategy. From the review of related literatures and through an interview conducted by the insurance specialist, the findings are some differences between Korean and German insurance companies, when they go into foreign insurance markets. Th significant differences between Korean and German insurers are a customer oriented localized strategy and niche market oriented strategy. The Korean insurer shows a strength on the overseas-expansion-strategy, but the most clients of the Korean insurer on overseas markets are also Korean companies and Korean immigrants. The Korean legal expenses insurance market is yet in its embryonic stage, while the German legal expenses insurance company is pushing ahead with a strategy focused on localization and niche market on the legal expenses insurance product. In conclusion, like a case of the German legal expenses insurance company, the Korean insurer needs a customer oriented localized strategy as well as a niche market oriented strategy on the overseas insurance market.

Development of Competency Evaluation Model for Public Private Partnership to Establish Strategies for Overseas Expansion (해외진출 전략 수립을 위한 민관합작투자사업의 역량평가모델 개발)

  • With the number of social overhead capital(SOC) projects that introduce private capital on the rise, overseas construction global companies today need to establish and advance their overseas order strategies. In this context, the purpose of this study is to develop the public private partnership(PPP) capacity evaluation model for developing countries and use it for domestic overseas construction companies to establish strategies for overseas expansion. The PPP competency evaluation model analyzes the importance of PPP competency evaluation items and infrastructure environment competency evaluation items through a review of previous studies and an interview survey with overseas construction experts. Through the above analysis results and expert surveys, problems that may occur when overseas construction companies enter the PPP market were derived, and improvement measures were proposed. Countries with a high probability of overseas construction companies entering the PPP market were determined to be those that have a mature PPP system, low risk in construction, and a good entry environment with a high infrastructure market size and growth rate. In addition, a lack of PPP investment experience, the absence of information on the infrastructure environment, and a shortage of PPP experts were identified as problems when entering the overseas construction PPP market. As an improvement measure, it was suggested to enter in cooperation with domestic and foreign companies. In addition, a plan was proposed to develop a curriculum to secure experts in areas such as PPP finance and contracts and to provide PPP information for each country. These findings are expected to contribute to overseas construction companies proposing strategies for entering the overseas construction market and using them for overseas expansion strategies and policy establishment.

  • Large-scale discount stores, that were in charge of leading role up to recently, reach the limit of growth because of increasing competition, saturation of domestic market, and shortened product life-cycle. As per the limit of domestic market, large-scale discount stores are trying to various global market entry strategy and global marketing strategy like new store entry, takeover of foreign distribution chain, and global sourcing strategy. In the past, global companies of advanced country have been entering to Asian market with leading position. But, as per the rapid growth of Asian economy in the late 1980's, East Asian distribution companies like Japanese company were trying to enter the Asian market. In Asian market, starting with China, that was relatively not advanced in comparison with economic development, not only western advanced countries but also East Asian countries like Japan and Korea are entering actively for overcome their limitations of domestic market. Many of distribution companies experienced success and failure for various reason already. Korean large-scale discount stores are relatively late starters in Asian market. So, this paper purposed to review global market entry strategy of Japanese large-scale discount stores, and find out strategic implications for successful global market entry strategy of Korean large-scale discount stores.

  • 세계의 방송 통신환경은 글로벌화 되고 있으며 주요 기업간 M&A로 업계 재편이 본격화 되고 있다. 통신산업 환경이 개방화 글로벌화 되어 가는 과정에서 국내 통신산업도 경쟁력을 가지기 위해서는 해외시장 확보와 규모의 경제 달성이 필요하다. 국내 통신산업은 국제적 경쟁력을 갖추고 있음에도 이를 활용한 해외진출은 미흡한 실정이다. 국내 통신사업자가 글로벌 통신시장에 진출하여 해외 통신사업자들과 본격적으로 경쟁하기 위해서는 자본 확충과 다양한 정부 지원이 필요하나 이를 확보하기에 많은 애로점이 있다. 본 고에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위한 하나의 대안으로서 정부의 주요 국정 과제 중 하나인 자원외교와 연계한 통신서비스 산업의 패키지형 해외진출 전략을 제안한다. 본 고에서 제안하는 패키지형 진출 전략의 핵심은 우리나라와 자원부국간의 상생과 자원 IT 금융의 산업간 시너지를 도출하는 데 의의가 있다.
