  • A practical method to investigate the sharing architecture of FMS, for small and medium enterprises, on distributed heterogeneous environmental conditions is investigated. Because the industrial FMS model requires a reasonable size for actual work-site flexible operation, the initial facility expense is very heavy. The support for flexible cooperation of FMS, with some external different FMS, can reduce expenditures and provide greater functionality. While most FMS provide their operation process using an adequate mechanism, when used in isolation, such as island of automation, there is increasing demand for FMS that can cooperate. By exchanging intermediate products and information with other external FMS, products can be produced that cannot be produced alone, such as those that require various processes. This study first considers the sharing architecture of FMS for small and medium enterprises, and investigates the effects of the general sharing architecture of FMS on distributed heterogeneous environments, by using transducer approach to agentification. In this study, set-up station or in-out station takes charge of the gateway of intermediate products, and routes them among distributed heterogeneous FMS plants. The transducer approach is applied to web agent and set-up agent established interfaces, with system controller and setup controller. In this study, the FMS-established sharing architecture is able to obtain not only the internal flexibility, but also the external flexibility.

  • The damage of water quality like red tide occurs every year inspite of the total load regulation of pollutant inflows from land such as COD, phosphorus and so on around Seto inland sea in Japan. It is attributed to the increase of primary production due to eutrophication. and the rising and settling from the sediment containing nutrient salt. Furthermore, the recent research shows that nutrient salt such as nitrogen and phosphorus, flows into Kii channel from land as well as the Pacific ocean. To investigate the distribution of water quality and flow and residual current in Kitan strait, the field observations were carried out. The field data were obtained a time each season from 1999 to 2002. The results of observations and data of other research institution are used to understand the mechanism of pollution in the strait.

  • This paper was analysed based on the oceanographic and meteorological data complied from 1971 to 1977 for that search relationships among the fluctuation of sea condition and weather condition, and the catch of anchovy. In the year when heat loss from the sea surface in winter was maximum(in 1974, 658 Iy), temperature of midwater in summer was lower 2~4\ulcornerC than normal year. While heat loss was minimum (in1973, 487 Iy), temperature of mid water was higher 2\ulcornerC. When temperature of mid water of southern coast from June to August was higher than normal year, anchovy was caught good deal, but that was lower than normal year was bad fishing. When it had much precipitation (in 1973, 256mm), plankton was checked maximum (12cc) and also the catch of anchovy too (11, OOOm/t). While precipitation was minimum (in 1976, 123mm), plankton (3cc) and anchovy (2, 800m/t) was a litle. If we calcalate heat budget in winter, we can forecast temperature of mid-water in summer of following year. Therefore we may be able to forecast catch anchovy.

  • To catch live anchovies which will be used as bait for skipjack fishing, set net, lift net and purse seine net were tried in Korean coastal waters by the authors. Among them the former two methods showed unsuitable to catch in bulk even though the catch showed good survival. The last showed unsuitable result because of the lack of exclusive fishing boat and skilled fishermen. From the viewpoint of practical use, the authors regarded it may be suitable to improve the traditional boat seine net which are used as major fishing gear to catch anchovies in Korea, so far as Korea is concerned. So we tried to catch live anchovies with partially reconstructed boat seine net and to hold the catch in the creel improved by the authors. Even though the result showed less than 70 percent of survival, slightly worse than other fishing methods, the experimented method showed to be practical in catching the live anchovies intensively.

  • In order to propose basic references for the policy making of fishing vessel fishery by Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, we have obtained the basic productivity through analyzing operating days and catches of 16 sample fishing vessels registered in Aewol port, the north of Jeju island in the year of 2011. In addition, to compare with the basic productivity of southern sea area in the Jeju island, that of 7 sample fishing vessels registered in Kangjung port was used. Around Aewol port, average operating days during the main catch period from July to October were over 15 days a month. A average daily catch of fishing vessels was minimum 21.0 kg in May and reached to maximum 54.5 kg in December, showing U-shaped catch pattern through the year. The trend formula of the average daily productivity (y) depending on a tonnage (x) of fishing vessels around Aewol port was described by the equation, y = 18.867 ln(x) + 11.001, and that around Kangjung port in the year of 2009 was understood to be y = 23.271 ln(x) + 25.715. As a result, it seemed that the productivity of fishing vessels around Kangjung port, operating in the southern sea area of Jeju Island, was much greater than that of fishing vessels around Aewol port in the northern sea area of Jeju Island. Especially, that of fishing vessels less than 10 tons was 35-40% more.

  • This project sought to conduct an economic feasibility study regarding the commercial production of bio-hydrogen by the marine hyperthermophilic archaeon, Thermococcus onnurineus NA1 using carbon monoxide-containing industrial off-gas. We carried out the economic evaluation of the bio-hydrogen production process using the raw material of steel mill by-product gas. The process parameter was as follows: $H_2$ production rate was 5.6 L/L/h; the conversion of carbon monoxide was 60.7%. This project established an evaluation criterion for about 10,000 tonne/year. Inflation factors were considered as 3%. The operating costs were recalculated based on prices in 2014. The total investment required for development was covered 30% by capital and 70% by a loan. The operation cost for the 0.5-year test and integration, and the cost for the first three months in the 50% production period were considered as the working capital in the cost estimation. The costs required for the rental of office space, facilities, and other related costs from the construction through to full-scale production periods were considered as continuing expenses. Materials, energy, waste disposal and other charges were considered as the operating cost of the development system. Depreciation, tax, maintenance and repair, insurance, labor, interest rate charges, general and administrative costs, lubrication and miscellaneous expenses were also calculated. The hydrogen price was set at US$ 4.15/kg for the economic evaluation. As a result, the process was considered to be economical with the payback period of 6.3 years, NPV of 18 billion Won and IRR of 26.7%.

  • The gas hydrate of 10 trillion tons are buried under continental slope in the world(permafrost : 2%, marine continental slope: 98%), but technology for the the commercial gas recovery has not developed yet. There are normally four representative recovery methods: depressurization method, thermal stimulation method, inhibition injection method, and displacement method. This study focuses on change of dissociation time and gas production according to gas hydrate saturation rate and depressurization rate. It was found that the correlation between depressrization rate and dissociation time was like as $Y=0.0004X^2-0.499X+176.86$. It was also found that the bigger depressurization rate is, the better production is(methane gas is produced over 46.2% at depressurization rate 50% compared with 40%). However, on the contrary to this, it is presumed that gas production is decreased at 60% due to gas hydrate reformation.

  • Top Drive Machine is drilling equipment which transfers motor torque to the drill bit. Kelly Rotary Table of the Derrick Drilling Machine (DDM) is firstly developed at 1983, and the first commercial model DDM 650DC was released at 1984. Offshore drilling business is high value-added industries. "N" Company of U.S.A and "A" company of Norway hold more than 90 percent of the global offshore drill system market, so it is hard to take away market share and develop offshore drilling equipment. Consequently, this paper introduce method for concept design of new reliability machine by limited information. To achieve this, design & analysis tools as CATIA, DELMIA, Pro Engineering, ANSYS were used to evaluate design error and strength/flow analysis at new concept design in Top Drive Machine.

  • Distribution of drifting larvae of Anadara broughtnoii SCHRENCK was studied based on the planktonic sampling which has been collected in fifteen sampling areas of southern coast of Korea and Ulsan Bay during summer season from 1973 to 1977. Vertical and horizontal occurrence was analyzed related to the environmental factors such as surface water temperature, current velocity and depth of water column. High density of the larvae was observed in the Chinhae Bay which included the sampling areas Rampo, Sockcheon, Majeon, Changpo, Dangdong, Bedun, Changchoa, and Wonmun. Maximum occurrence of the farvae was accompanied with the highest water temperature of the summer season, and it was usually August when the water temperature was over 27$^{\circ}C$. In August, 1975, the highest density of the farvae was observed, when the mean surface water temperature was the highest compared to those of other years. The first appearence of the drifting larvae was also related to the surface water temperature. Each year the larae begin to appear from the late July and the ready-to-fall larvae appear in abundance from the mid-August. Vertical distribution patterns of the larvae are closely related to the depth of the water column as well as to the current velocity. In shallow water the larvae tend to aggregate in the bottom layer, while they are diffused to some extent in deep water. In shallow water column ( 8m) more or less 75% of the total larvae individuals was observed in the lower 4m layer and in deep water column ( 16m) only 45% of those was found in the lower 4m layer. In the water of lower velocity a large fraction of the larvae population is distributed in the lower depth layer.
