  • In this paper, we classified a flight pattern of unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) which will be operating in UTM system and analyzed its flight pattern by purpose of use. Flight patterns of UAV are sorted into three patterns which are circling, monitoring and delivery. We considered four cases of industry areas using UAV which are agriculture, infrastructure monitoring, public safety & security(p.s.s) and delivery. It is necessary to build a simulation model as a verification tool for applying the flight pattern according to the use of UAV to the real UTM system. Therefore, we propose the simulation model of UAV with updating states over time. We applied simulation to UAV monitoring flight pattern, and confirmed that the flight was done by the given input data. The simulation model will be used in the future to verify that the UAV has various flight patterns and can operate safely and efficiently for the intended use.

  • This paper presents air traffic control simulation model for generating 4D trajectory, and aircraft dynamic model based on 4D trajectory information. With aircraft parameters from BADA and Total Energy Model, the trajectory is defined through modified Bezier curve and the simulation supports two aircraft control methods based on controlled time of arrival (CTA) or airspeed. The simulation results shown that flight time and path were almost identical to the defined trajectory, and derived the differences of each control methods according to wind conditions. Based on the simulation model developed in this study, it is expected to be applied to various air traffic management researches. Future studies will focus on applying optimization techniques in order to minimize the difference between generated trajectories and actual flight routes. This work will increase utilization of developed simulation futhermore.

  • In A bridge which connects Mokpo North Harbor and Com Island is going to be constructed until 2009. For the bridges being built in the navigable water area, it is indispensible to carry out vessel traffic safety assessment from the viewpoint of shiphandlers, however, there exist no specific guidelines for the necessary conditions whim the bridge designers can rely on. In this paper, traffic safety assessment procedures for the layout of the bridge is briefly introduced, and the conditions whim should be taken into account at the initial design stage of the bridge is surveyed. For the safety assessment of the bridge design, ship navigation simulations, such as RTS(real time simulation} and FTS(fast time simulation), are carried out, the results of which are statistically analysed to estimate the probability of collision between the ship and the pier of the bridge.

  • In this study, the electrochemical polarization data required for the simulation of the plating process, simulation of plating conditions, and characterization of the plating layer were discussed. The electrochemical polarization data obtained by potentiodynamic polarization tests and potentiostat analysis of Ni and Cu were used to observe changes in the overvoltage distribution with the flow conditions of the plating solution. In the simulation of plating conditions, the current density distribution and plating thickness distribution were evaluated under different variables to analyze the influence of the location and number of contacts on the rack pins on the plating quality. Simulation results under variables such as anode geometry, interpole distance, auxiliary anode placement, and variation of substrate spacing were used to explore ways to improve plating thickness deviation. Additionally, plating layer characterization analyzed the thickness, adhesion, and delamination of the plating layer with and without buffer layer formation. The simulation results can be utilized as important basic data for improving the efficiency and quality of the plating process.

  • The emergence of Bluetooth as a radio interface scheme has allowed electronic devices to be instantly interconnected as ad-hoc networks. These short range ad-hoc wireless networks are called piconets, operated in the unlicensed 2.45 GHz ISM(Industrial, Scientific, Medical) band where up to eight devices may be used to configure single or overlapping piconets. In this paper, we have simulated the PER(Packet Error Rate), the ratio of received packet and payload BER(Bit Error Rate) of piconet with packet types of Bluetooth ACL/SCO(Asynchronous Connection Less/Synchronous Connection Oriented) link over wireless ad-hoc environment. The Rayleigh fading effects are considered as channel model, and the simulation results are based on the baseband model of Bluetooth specification. From the simulation results, the PER and the throughput of Bluetooth piconet are sensibly affected by the packet type of ACL/SCO link.

  • In this paper, we analysed and simulated the high speed mobile wireless channel for IEEE802.11p WAVE/DSRC standard draft. IEEE802.11p working group measured and suggested 6 channel model for WAVE/DSRC systems which is used for vehicle to vehicle or vehicle to infra communication. However, the models only provides numerical model, it did not provide Computer based software simulation model. So it can not be used directly for performance estimation of WAVE system. In this paper we suggested simulation technique of WAVE channel simulation which is developed S/W based WAVE channnel simulator. The simulation results for PSD, LCR, and AFD are also obtained, which can be used for performance estimation of IEEE802.11p based vehicular communication system.

  • This paper introduces 3-dimensional path planning and guidance including power model for high altitude long endurance (HALE) UAV using solar energy. Dubins curve used in this paper has advantage of being directly available to apply path planning. However, most of the path planning problems using Dubins curve are defined in a two-dimensional plan. So, we used 3-dimensional Dubins path generation algorithm which was studied by Randal W. Beard. The aircraft model which used in this paper does not have an aileron. So we designed lateral controller by using a rudder. And then, we were conducted path tracking simulations by using a nonlinear path tracking algorithm. We generate examples according to altitude conditions. From the path tracking simulation results, we confirm that the path tracking is well on the flight path. Finally, we were modeling the power system of HALE UAVs and conducting path tracking simulation during 48hours. Modeling the amount of power generated by the solar cell through the calculation of the solar energy yield. And, we show the 48hours path tracking simulation results.

  • To perform realistic air traffic control (ATC) simulation in various air traffic situations, an aircraft dynamic model that is accurate and efficient is required. In this research, an improved five degree of freedom (5-DOF) dynamic model with feedback control and guidance law is developed, which utilizes selected performance data and operational specifications from the base of aircraft data (BADA) and estimations using aircraft design techniques to improve the simulation fidelity. In addition, takeoff weight is estimated based on the aircraft type and flight plan to improve simulation accuracy. The dynamic model is validated by comparing the simulation results with recorded flight trajectories. An ATC simulation system using this 5-DOF model can be used for various ATC related research.

  • In this paper, we optimize the wireless power transmission (WPT) coil, and then compare the EM simulation and measurement using magnetic coupling at 6.78 MHz. As transmission efficiency is affected by various factors such as the shape of the system, the size of the coils, the coil structure is proposed to consist of a helical resonant for transmission and a spiral resonant for reception. The size of the coil and the distance between the coils are determined to minimize the volume problem, and the shape of the coil are confirmed by EM simulation. A WPT system is designed with 860mm diameter top plate and cylindrical structure of column spaced 600mm apart, and the characteristics are simulated and measured. The simulation shows that ${\mid}S_{21}{\mid}$ is -0.53 dB with the efficiency of 88%, and the measurement result is that ${\mid}S_{21}{\mid}$ is -0.71 dB with the efficiency of 85%.
