  • Cyber attacks can be caused by all equipment that perform communication functions, and the link between ship and land due to the development of communication technology means that the ship sector as well as the land sector can be easily exposed to cyber threat vulnerability. In this paper, we analyze cyber threat trend changes to identify cyber security vulnerabilities in the maritime sector and propose measures to enhance cyber security through other industry case studies.

  • With the development of information and communication technology and the growth of e-commerce, the scale of international B2C transactions is expanding, and the scale of overseas direct purchase through online platforms will grow further in the future.   • Several types of data are collected from buoy due to the development of hardware technology.. However, the collected data are difficult to use due to errors including missing values and outliers depending on mechanical faults and meteorological environment. Therefore, in this study, linear interpolation is performed by adding the missing time data to enable machine learning to the insufficient meteorological data. After the linear interpolation, XGBoost and KNN-regressor, are used to forecast error data and suggested model is evaluated by using real-world data of a buoy.

  • The characteristics of ship induced waves caused by navigation become widely different from both ship's speed and water depth condition. The ship induced waves specially generated in coastwise routes frequently give rise to call unforeseen danger for swimmers and small boats as well as shoreline erosion or sea wall destruction in coastal zones. The main concern of ship induced wave study until now is either how to reduce ship resistance or how to manoeuvre the ship safely under a constant water depth in the view point of shipbuilding engineers. Moreover, due to the trends for appearance of the high speed ships at the shallow coastal water, we are confronted with the danger of damages from those ship induced waves. Therefore, it is necessary to examine the development of ship induced waves and the influence of their deformation effects according to its propagation ray. In present study, in order to predict the development of the ship induced waves and their propagation under the conditions of complicate and variable shallow water depth with varying ship's speed, we constructed a computer model using Boussinesq equation with a fixed coordinate system and verified the model results by comparison with experimental results. Additionally, the model was applied under the variable water depth based on actual passage and we then confirmed the importance of the variable water depth consideration.

  • Recently, the storms which hit Korean Peninsula are getting bigger, and the damages from the storms are wide spreaded. Thus, and approach with disaster prebention to offshore area and/or opened island area is neccessary. The existing wave design parameter was calculated with linear regular wave models inputting deep water design wave or wind sources. so it wasn't able to deal with wind-induced waves, interactions with waves, and redistribution of wave energy simultaneously. In this study, we made numerical simulation with SWAN(Simulation Waves Nearshore) Model which can consider development of waves and winds and their interference. The result from this model shows much different with those from existing model's. so the result from this study, especially in this modeling area, could be used for harbor design and coastal disaster prevention field in the future.

  • The history of the Korean lighthouse have been known to be begun from which installed by the purpose of the Japanese invasion of the outside. Modern navigational aid system have configured during the Japanese ruling era since the Incheon Palmido Lighthouse was built in 1903 as the first lighthouse in Korea. But in this regard it needs to be considered more carefully. Busan, as the city of international port and of Choryang Waegwan, had been a center of foreign relations between Korea and Japan since early 15th century. Because that reason, International port facility has been developed for a long time ago in Busan for example lighthouse, breakwater, wharf, jetty and so on. Nevertheless the lack of historical data and basic research related to the marine caused the proper history could not be established until now. In recently the basic translation of Korean Maritime Customs documents started to finish, and a compilation book of old pictorial maps on Choryang Waegwan was issued. As a result, more objective history of Busan Aids to Navigation can be investigated.

  • With increasing uncertainty of energy market in the world, the policies for the energy resource security have become crucial Several countries with poor energy resource like Netherlands and Singapore have pursued the policy for becoming an oil hub in the region. Singapore has been an oil hub in East Asia for a long time not only because it is well located with a large number of countries exporting and importing oil but it has also pursued strong policies to become an oil hub while establishing favourable institutional, regulatory and business environment for accommodating major refineries and petro-chemical companies. However with growing trading volume of petroleum products in Northeast Asia and a record high price of oil in these days, the necessities of another oil hub in the region are considered in order to reap benefits of the security of economical and stable oil. South Korea is situated astride the main North Pacific shipping route, with deep water ports and proximity to Chinese and Japanese industrial centres that make tank terminal operators Ideal choices for the oil hub in Northeast Asia although it has several disadvantages such as lack of independent storage facilities, underdeveloped oil trading market and unfavourable business friendly climates etc. This study is focused on examining the globalization strategies of tank terminal operators such as Vopak, Oiltanking and Odfjell in order to suggest the policy implications for becoming an oil tub in Northeast Asia.

A LSPIV Measurement of the Unsteady Rip Current at Successive Ends of Breaking Wave Crests (연속된 쇄파 파봉선 끝단의 비정상 이안류 LSPIV 계측연구)

  • The experiment of unsteady rip current generated at the successive ends of breaking wave crests of honeycomb pattern waves was conducted in a laboratory wave basin, and its time-varying evolution was observed by using ortho-rectified images. The present experiment utilized the generation of a quasi nodal line of the honeycomb-pattern waves formed by out-of-phase motion of two piston-type wavemakers arranged in the transverse direction, instead of the original honeycomb pattern waves which are generated when two wave trains propagate with slightly different wave directions. The velocities of rip current were measured by using the LSPIV (Large-Scale Particle Image Velocimetry) technique. As a result, the unsteady rip current was generated between successive ends of wave crests, and evolved with its shear fluctuations in this experiment. Also, the time series of LSPIV velocity of the unsteady rip current showd its short component due to waves and its long component due to wave-induced currents.

  • 우리나라의 남해안과 서해안과 같이 해안선의 굴곡이 많고 강의 하류 부분에 위치한 연안 해양은 육지로부터 영향을 가장 많이 받는다. 강 하류에 위치한 항만은 이 지역을 중심으로 발달한 도시와 각종 산업시설과 대규모 부두 시설에 의해 직접 오염물질이 유입되고, 반 폐쇄적인 지리적인 조건으로 오염 물질의 외부 확산이 적게 일어남으로써 각종 유해 오염물질의 최종 종착지이자 오염물질의 보유고 역할을 하고 있다. 본 과제의 주요 목표는 오염지역의 오염물 이동 및 생태계 구조 변화에 관한 종합적 분석을 통해 오염우심해역 관리를 위한 오염과 생태환경에 대한 종합적인 지침서 (오염물 분포, 이동, 순환 등) 제시하고, 오염물질의 순환과정에서 수생-저서생태계의 연계성 규명하며, 더 나아가서 국가실천계획 (NPA) 이행을 위한 기반 확립이다. 본 연구과제의 결과는 항상 오염에 노출될 가능성이 높은 연안역관리를 위한 지표자료를 제공하며, 앞으로 국제적으로 규제될 각종 유기오염물질관리를 위한 자료로 활용될 것이다.

  • 물류산업은 세계의 모든 정부 및 국가기관에 의하여 최고로 인식되고 있는 전략적이고 경제적 이윤추구의 전 세계에 걸친 거대한 산업이다. 싱가포르는 물류산업이 가장 발달하고 최고로 바쁜 항만을 갖고 있는 국가 중의 하나이다. 싱가포르의 강점은 아시아에서 훌륭한 문화여건, 금융과 상업적인 클러스터, 통신 및 운송의 연결성을 가지고 있는 가장 세계화된 도시라는 점이다. 싱가포르는 우수한 물리적인 산업기반 시설의 장점에 의하여 자유경쟁의 이득을 향유하고 있다. 그렇지만 이러한 것들만으로는 싱가포르가 우리들의 경쟁자로서 앞서 있다고 확신하기에는 충분하질 않다. 싱가포르는 적은인구와 지지배후지의 부족 등으로 도전에 직면하고 있어서 배후지를 다른 국가로 이전하고 있다. 싱가포르는 세계 경제 속에서의 국제화 중심이 되거나, 남동아시아 성장에 참여하고 배후지의 결속을 증가시키는 선택을 해야 될 것이다. 따라서 이 논문에서는 싱가포르 물류산업의 전략적 발전을 분석하기 위하여 수리통계학적 방법을 적용하였다.
